Egads, it's been over a week since I last posted..Been busy with school and stuff...Anyway, things are going well~I haven't been on the scale..I haven't been making the greatest food choices, but I am kicking azz on the workout front..I have been jogging 4 miles every other day for the past week...YES 4 FLIPPING MILES!! hahaha~I am one mile from my 5 mile goal, that I want to reach by my birthday, at the end of October..I have NO doubts I will make it! I am not running everyday...I find I have more strength and energy to do it every other day..I couldn't believe last week, when I hit the 3.5 mile mark and kept going!! And after I did it ONE time, and I KNEW it was possible for me to actually run a full 4 miles, I now EXPECT myself to do it each time I hop on that treadmill. Go Moody, Go Moody~=)

So anyway, not alot to report..school is great, home life is great...i have a couple possible love interests..hahaha...I wasn't looking but isn't that when it always happens?? One is a published author and the other is a project developer~the project developer is in the front running I must say..A great guy, with a fantastically witty, sarcastic sense of humor, which makes me laugh ALOT..and that my friends, is my number one priority in a guy..along with intelligence..and he's got that too...haha~So anyway, it's early, but I am just enjoying getting to know them both..Time will tell if anything happens one way or the other....If not, cay sara sara or something like that...heh

Ok..dinner is ready, I have barely eaten all day..Just finished some homework..had to look up a couple court cases and write about them...boRing...lol

If I don't get to write on anyone diaries today I will catch up tomorrow..But I'm really going to try to get to you guys tonight...

Wishing each of you a wonderful evening!

tangalyn on 09/07/2010:
wow very impressive jogging :) keep up the good work! have a great day :)

V on 09/07/2010:
So good to hear from you! Conrats on continuing kickin major arse with your running :) you know they say when it rains it pours so it is not suprising that you met 2 nice guys! You still working til 7 am??? I bet you have little time for yourself between work and school.

tangalyn on 09/07/2010:
no, no food, just lotssss of water and may low cal liquids of other kinds... today only tho, then again friday (hopefully) i have fresh fruits n veggies if i get hungry, but so far i feel full from all the water :)

V on 09/07/2010:
LOl No horror films for me tonight!

sweetpea1977 on 09/07/2010:
wow, great work on the jogging! Running every other day is perfect as it gives your leg muscles time to recover.

Yay for the love interests. They both sound great, but I definitely agree that a blend of compatible sense of humor and intelligence is the way to go. I met my hubby when I least expected it and his quirky sense of humor matched mine perfectly! Oh, and he's a software developer (computer nerd!!)! :)

Thanks for the update!

just42day on 09/07/2010:

That's the exact same spot mine hurts!!! Almost like it's dislocated but not... and mine has been hurting for several weeks now...it gets better but every time I do a really long run it starts hurting again! I hope it's better for the race!!

You're doing wonderful, congrats to you!!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 09/11/2010:
wait, you are in school? i thought you had finished school and are working as a nurse!?

I couldn't sleep last night for some reason. You would think it would've been easy for me (and it usually is) to fall asleep on Saturday nights because I don't sleep much (if at all) on Saturday mornings when I come home from work since I know I will be able to go to bed early and sleep in my own bed later that night. But not so last night..it was after 1:00 am before I went to bed and then I laid there and watched tv..semi dozing off and on until 3:30 am...then I fell asleep for a few hours before waking up for good..Very unusual for me..So anyway, got up, made coffee and surfed the internet, watched tv..

I had no plans of working out today since I was dragging ass~Because even tho I couldn't sleep, I WAS tired..But yeh, I was giving myself permission to not run today...to give myself a rest day..and I was totally ok with it. However, as my morning went on...I started getting that "urge" to run...So I said "ok, i'll go for a quick 2 mile run"~which in itself is kinda big for me, to come to the realization that "quick 2 mile run" is what I now consider to be a "light workout"..So yeh, I change into my running clothes and get going and instead of stopping at the 2 mile mark, I ran 3.5 miles again:::twirl:::LOL~Actually, I ran just over 3.5 miles, because I made myself run until the end of the song I was listening to..which put me over by just a bit. I really didn't think I had it in me, but it's amazing what the body can do~We just have to push ourselve through the uncomfortable part..I mean, listen to your body, absolutely...but if you quit when it gets tough, your body has no reason to change..It's a very efficient machine and adapts quite nicely..so pushing ourselves...digging deep when you feel like you want to stop..is one way we get stronger and build endurance..and you would be very surprised at what you can do!! At least that's my experience. If you would've told me a month ago, that I would be running 3.5 miles today, I wouldn't have believed you...because at the age of 43 I have NEVER run 3.5 miles... but by pushing myself...setting new goals..and not giving up, sticking with it...I am living proof that it pays off! I turn 44 in October and I am making it a goal to run 5 miles by my birthday. You heard it here first!

Ok, I got laundry going, I need to vacuum and do the dishes and will get started on that soon..maybe. heh.

Wishing all of you a peaceful Sunday!!

just42day on 08/29/2010:
You're doing so well w/your running! You should be very proud of yourself! Enjoy the rest of your day :)

just42day on 08/29/2010:
This is a new week so I'm not burnt out on salads... yet. Check w/me on Wednesday. Probably won't be able to look at anything green at that point.

cleaneating on 08/29/2010:
You are right, you should give yourself a rest day, your muscles need that time to repair themselves :)

Horn_Of_Plenty on 08/29/2010:
For me, tofu on bread is GREAT! it's very filling and satisfying. I don't need a lot of flavor in my foods, and this is something that i like the taste of. you have to use a good bread for it to be filling, with a nice amount of fiber. I love this as a "power snack." and i used to have it frequently.

sounds like you are making GREAT progress with running. Remember just one thing, there is no such thing as rushing in fitness! Never hurt yourself because you weren't ready to achieve something...sounds like you have a good plan though. I tend to do "too much" at times too. but i don't want you to get hurt just trying to reach your goal!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 08/29/2010:
I hope you sleep better soon!

V on 08/30/2010:
Good job on the running! i will chat with you soon :)

It's Saturday!! What a beautiful day outside~Came home from work at 7 this morning~slept for a couple hours then got up and made coffee..drank a whole pot, oops, ate a granola bar then took my dogs out to play before it got too hot. The temperatures are definitely changing, but it still gets very warm in the afternoons~so I like to get my dogs outside earlier in the day. Anyway, came home from the dog outting and hopped on the treadmill and did a 3.5 mile run..I have NEVER in my life run 3.5 miles! I feel flipping fantastic!! hahaha~I was going to stop at 3 miles, but I was feeling really good, so decided to go for it and add another half mile..It's my goal to get to 5 miles eventually..It's amazing how the body gets stronger, how endurance builds, if you just stick with it!! I remember when running a half mile just about killed me and here I am today, able to whip thru 3.5 miles!! Woohoo Moody! I think the endorphines are rushing thru my brain~heh

Took a nice cool shower after and am sipping on water..gonna watch a movie or two...relax and enjoy the day~

Wishing each of you a beautiful day!!

Hola mi amiga's~

Yes, I am still around, I have just been really busy. Last week was crazy, getting all my ducks lined up for school, as well as helping my son line his ducks up for college~Classes started this week for both of us and we are both settling in nicely. Last night during my Homicide Investigation class, the lights went out, leaving the classroom in pitch blackness~kinda creepy..heh. Everyone started laughing at the irony of it when the lights came back on, making smart ass comments like "It was Colonel Mustard with the candlestick in the library."

Anyway, not much to report, so I am keeping this short and sweet~Eating has been hit and  miss, but am doing well with the exercise~So I think it's evening out somewhat..Maintenence is better than gaining I always say.

Nutra Grain Bar and Coffee~130 cals.

Drinking water as I font

Exercise: 3 mile run

Wishing everyone a beautiful day!!!! Stay strong ladies!

Everyone's crazy about school these days. :-) Here in Portugal they still don't have the exact date for starting school, it's very strange... in Hungary it's always announced very early. Latino party... :-)

The book: it's the same, author: Kessler , book: The End of Overeating (look up at bookdepository.co.uk , free delivery worldwide)

Happy Monday Sweet Friends~=)

It's hard to believe that this is the last Monday of the summer for me~Next week at this time I will be sitting in class getting super smart n stuff~heh. I don't know where the summer has gone, but the past 3 months have flown~Sigh..I have a busyish week ahead of me~tomorrow I have to go to campus with my son to speak with the people in the financial aid office regarding his FAFSA~we've been having difficulties and I am frustrated, but hopefully, tomorrow we can get some answers. I am tired of trying to deal with people over the phone, leaving messages and not getting any return calls. Since I am going to be on campus tomorrow I am going to get my text books for the semester as well~Friday we have to head back down there for my sons orientation where we will get his student ID and purchase his textbooks. Then Monday let the wild rumpus begin!!

I've been dogsitting for the past 4 days~and will be doing so again later this week because my best friend had a death in her family and will be traveling out of state for the funeral, so I am going to dogsit again while she is gone. Anyway~

I am feeling really good~Today I jogged 3 miles!! Yes, 3 miles! I haven't done that in 20 years, literally. I have been faithfully working out for eh, what, a month or so now, and my endurance has certainly been building. It feels GREAT my friends, really really great! I started out simply walking 30 minutes, at a brisk pace (on my treadmill)~then bumped it up to 45 minutes....then bumped it up to walking one mile, jogging one mile, walking one mile.....then gradually increased my jogging...walk a mile, jog 1.5 miles, walk a mile...got comfortable with that, then decided to try something different..so I decided to walk  a half mile as a warm up, and then jog...then walk 5 minutes or so as a cool down...I have been adding distance to my jogging in .5 mile increments...So, yeh, started out walking .5 mile, jogged for 1.5 miles, then cool down for 5 minutes...got comfortable with that, increased my jogging to 2 miles, got comfortable with THAT, then bumped it up to a 2.5 mile jog for about a week, was able to jog that comfortably, and today I bumped up my distance by another half mile and jogged 3 miles!! And I wasn't really all that tired! Cardio wise I feel great..the first mile or so, my calves, achilles heel area felt strained, but then that eased up and I was good to go! But I do need to invest in some good running shoes when my budget allows~

I know to some of you jogging 3 miles is probably no big deal, but to me it is a big milestone~I've always kind of had this mental block or something when it comes to jogging~I've never been able to jog very long distances..I can walk forever (and at a very quick pace) but when I have tried jogging in the past I've always had my ass kicked~and therefore, I gave up and reverted back to walking~I don't know why this time is different, other than the fact that I guess I didn't give up~I started easy, with just a half mile jog, and slowly added distance to that as I got stronger...I've always known this but I am living proof that consistency pays off~I love the fact that my endurance has built up and I am becoming stronger physically!! It's exciting!! I don't want to stop this~I just want to to continue getting stronger and healthier!

My food choices have been hit and miss~I need to buckle down on that~

Today I've had sunflower seeds...and I made spaghetti for dinner so I had a bowl of spaghetti and one piece of Texas Toast~I will probably munch on some more sunflower seeds, but once these are gone, I am not going to buy anymore~They've become a habit and I need to break it.

Drinking my 3rd bottle of water as I'm writing this~I'll drink one more, which will put me at 64oz~anything over that is an extra bonus!

Ok, gonna go catch up on you guys and maybe take a nap~I am feeling sleepy suddenly~probably from the spaghetti? I dunno~LOL

Wishing you all a beautiful day!!!

cleaneating on 08/16/2010:
Great job on the jogging, 3miles is a great milestone to hit and nothing to be sniffed at!

I think you deserve a big pat on the back. You have come such a long way with your exercise, you sound like a woman not to be messed with - those people on campus better watch out!! I finished of some cashews last night that were suppose to last all week, so not pumpkin seeds for you and no more cashews for me!! LOL

Horn_Of_Plenty on 08/16/2010:
After eating ice cream so often lately for breakfast. I was surprised by how much more an apple and bowl of shredded wheat cereal fills a person up!

Jogging three miles is AWESOME!!! I can't do that right now. I am mostly a walker, biker, or Ellipticaller! :-)

Maria7 on 08/16/2010:
Congrats on the 3 miles! Wow! That is real good!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 08/16/2010:
Thanks for your thoughts on my other entry. It's helpful to hear everyone's advice, for sure.

hollybelle on 08/16/2010:
Wow - wish I could run 1 mile! Good job. Also good luck with FAFSA!

hollybelle on 08/16/2010:
PS - I do listen to music on elliptical. Also watch TV, still does not motivate me much. SIGH! I may try different music. That's an idea! I have my old aerobic class tapes - yes they are actually cassettes and I can still play them! Who knows maybe a little walk down memory lane will be good.

Thanks for the helpful tip, I'll try drinking the water next time. I too love sunflower seeds. Keep up the great job,,,, You're workouts look great! Hugs.

Hola Mi Amiga's~I haven't been online much this past week so no posting for Moody~

Well I lost my mojo for awhile~Not only did I fall off the wagon, but I rolled down the hill and laid in the ditch for a few days~heh...However, I have picked myself up, dusted off the crumbs, climbed up that hill and hauled my ass back on the wagon..My food choices haven't been the best, but I have been working out. Hitting the treadmill nicely. It's a journey, one filled with ups and downs, bumps, forks in the road and derailing~but the important thing is to learn, grow and NEVER give up on yourself.

Not much planned for the weekend...My best friend is out of town so I am running by her place a couple times a day to let her dogs out for potty purposes. I got off work at 7 this morning and stopped by on my way home from work (she lives a mile down the road)~I'll go back later today and let them out again...She is supposed to be back either tomorrow or Monday~So anyway, nothing really going on in Moody's world~I should probably vacuum..did laundry,  cleaned kitchen yesterday..bathroom is fine...LOL~I live such an exciting life!

Had something kinda weird happen yesterday that I am "dealing with"~nothing really big, but yet it is on my mind more than I thought it would be...I ran into an ex bf yesterday, someone that I loved very much...we haven't been together for 2 years...I haven't spoken with him in eh, a year probably? Anyway, ran into him yesterday and he told me he is getting married in October...and it felt like someone had punched me in the stomach. The feeling was brief, but very real. I put a smile on my face and congratulated him....but yeh, it got to me. And I am surprised that it got to me like it did~I was the one that broke up with him..and like I said, it was 2 years ago...but still....I dunno. Anyway, it's been on my mind...guess I just need to process it? Weird~our emotions.

Ok...I'm offa here...

Wishing you all a beautiful day!!!

skinnygrlwithin on 08/14/2010:
"Lawyerly" to him is I'm cold and calculated and treat him like a client without emotions when we fight... I have too good of a "poker face" so he thinks I don't care

hollybelle on 08/14/2010:
I have to say I would have probably felt the same way about ex bf getting married. It's kind of like even if we don't want them, we don't really want anyone else to have them - that would mean they aren't "carrying the torch for us anymore" or something. Sit with your emotions for awhile and see what happens. Have a wonderful weekend.

crazy_fatty on 08/14/2010:
oh wow, you really are going through a lot, first your accident and now dealing with these emotions. im glad you are ok, hopefully you didnt aquire injuries.. 2 days in ditch! i could not even imagine, you are very strong, have a good day.

tangalyn on 08/14/2010:
oh yeah i know those feelings.. i hate admitting it, but i would most likely feel the same about the ex thing.. thats a tough situation. i hope u feel better soon, hang in there, hugsssss

Maria7 on 08/14/2010:
That sure is nice of you to help your Friend out while she's away.

Just remember...when you fall off the wagon....and roll down the hill...and lay in the ditch a few days...that THAT SCALE is STILL GOING TO BE WAITING ON YOU TO GET UP AND GET BACK ON IT AGAIN!!!!! No...really...how many of us HAVEN'T gotten off track for a while??? I know I SURE HAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Else,...how is it that I'm having to work to get back to goal I was at 8 YEARS AGO???? :-)

moogy on 08/14/2010:
I am glad you clambered up the hill again. Thank you for your wise words. I am OK with my water, I always drink 2 litres a day but I haven't been walking for a few months. Maybe now it's getter warmer I will start again. Remind me until I do please. The human heart is a funny thing - sometimes it lags behind our brains.!!!

Hihi Friends!

Today has been a good day~came home, slept til 11:30, got up made coffee, slowly eased into my day~at 1:00 I jumped on the treadmill, then showered, loaded up my dogs and headed to my friends house for a doggie play date for them, and a True Blood date for me! LOL~She DVR's it from Sunday and I always go over there and watch it...I LOVE THAT SHOW!! So yeh, hung out there, letting the dogs play while we watched that, then we went outside and sat in rocking chairs on the porch while the dogs played in the front yard~it's hot and humid tho, so the dogs didn't have much energy out there, but seemed to enjoy being outside nontheless~

Had a great workout today~I walked for the first 10 minutes to warm up, then jogged for 2 miles, then walked at a slower pace, but at an incline, so I was still in the "fat burning stage" according to my treadmill, for the last half mile~3 miles total~

I learned yesterday the importance of warming up my muscles~I jumped right into a jog and while I felt fine cardiovascular-wise, the back of my calves, achilles (sp) heel and the front of my ankle, hurt and felt tight~I jogged the first mile, walked a mile, then jogged the last mile~the last mile ok, a little sore on the front part of my ankle and achilles heel area, but nothing like the first mile~So I'm guessing that it just needed a good warming up before I started jogging....also, I need to invest in a good pair of running shoes, but my fundage will not allow that right now! So today, I walked briskly for the first 10 minutes, then started jogging, and I felt a little sore in the same areas, but nothing like yesterday~So yeh, my friends, warming up the muscles is important!!! I need to take time to stretch afterwards as well, but I never do~hmmmm

Was thinking today while on the treadmill, how grateful I was that I was able to do this~Was thinking "Is my body beautiful physically? Not exactly. But is it a strong, healthy body? YES!" I know if I continue doing what I am doing, it will become more beautiful~I don't expect to look like I did when I was 18, but I want to work towards the best 43 year old body I can have. I accept where I am today~I have come to truly appreciate and be grateful for what I am able to do~My best friend had a stroke at 36 and can no longer run. She was an athlete before her stroke and one of the things that bothers her most is the fact that she can no longer jog. Someone else I am very close to is a heart patient~he had a quintuple bypass at the age of 35 and had a heart attack 2 years after THAT~it was entirely genetic, he doesn't smoke, drink, isn't overweight in the slightest~he is lucky to be alive, and would LOVE to be able to jog, play basketball, or just go for long walks...but can't..or he can, but he tires easily, and has to listen to his body very, very carefully. So yeh, I am very thankful and grateful that this overweight body of mine is healthy and strong. I'm going to do everything I can to ensure that it only gets stronger. I am done abusing this body. Do I want to LOOK better physically? Absolutely!!!! Of course I do!! But I have really come to realize the beauty of HEALTH~and have come to view working out as something to thankful that I am physically ABLE to do! Feels nice~=)

Foods so far~

Uhm, this leftover noodle with chicken breast chopped up in it, mixed with cream of chicken soup~about 1.5 cups~unsure of the calories...lets say 500 at the most. I'll double check with Fitday.

That's been it so far~it's 6:00 pm, so if I am going to eat anything else, I need to do so soon because I am trying not to eat after 7:00~but I just ate the above mentioned at 4:30, so not really too hungry right now~hmmm

Exercise~45 minutes on the treadmill

Water is lacking tho~just 1 bottle...dangit!

Ended the day with 1,422 calories...Need to watch my fat and carb count tho I think...I had 2 baked potatoes with butter and mozzarella cheese for a late dinner (8:00)~I broke my no eating after 7:00 rule~which isn't set in stone, but it's something I try to keep as the rule..Anyway, so yeh, my calories were ok, but looking at Fitday, my fat and carbs were sky high~Another big eye opener, thanks Fitday!~Oh, and I'm working on my 3rd bottle of water~not gonna make 4 bottles, which would put me at 64oz. because it's 9:30 pm now~I'm gonna be in the bathroom every 20 minutes tonight at work if I'm not careful, because I'm drinking water so stinking late!!~

Hope you all are having a beautiful day!!!!!

sweetpea1977 on 08/03/2010:
Another great entry! I love your positive attitude towards your body. We should never take them for granted!!

Good work on the exercise. And yes, always warm up with light cardio before doing any workout! :)

hollybelle on 08/03/2010:
It's great to appreciate the health of our bodies. When we have our health, we really DO haea so much to be grateful for and it's wonderful that you do not take it for granted. Keep the goal of better health in mind and it'll happen. I have to agree heartily with you regarding warming up and good shoes. You are really doing some significant mileage and your feet and joints deserve good shock absorption! Keep up the good work!

Maria7 on 08/03/2010:
45 mins on the treadmill...sounds really GOOD. :-) Hope you have a nice evening, Moody.

Healthy&HappyMe on 08/03/2010:
What a great mindset! I completely agree with you! All we can do is work hard, eat healthy and above all be greatful for what we can do! :)

moogy on 08/03/2010:
Need more water sweethear, espcially because it is hot and humid. Nice day with your friend. I could just picture myself on that porch rocking. Nice

getmebackto150 on 08/03/2010:
Awesome thoughts in your entry today... I completely agree with the sentiments!!! My "long" runs aren't too long... 30-40 minutes which is about 3-3.5 miles... I'm doing a few 5k races this summer, so I'm basing my running around training for them... right now I try to run 4 days per week. Tuesday: Spring/walk intervals, either randomly around my neighborhood, up and down hills in my neighborhood, or on the highschool track 1 lap sprint/2 laps walk.. Thursday is a pace run: right now this means I run 1 mile as fast as I possibly can and time myself trying to get a faster pace each week Saturday is "Long run" last week was 30 minutes running and I'm trying to up it by 3-5 minutes each week, and sunday is a "relaxing run" meaning 15-20 minutes of slow jogging... I have NEVER been a runner, so this is really quite a lot for me!!! Glad to hear that you are doing well with running too!!

just42day on 08/03/2010:
Yes, I agree - fabulous, thoughtful entry. Thanks for sharing and reminding us to be ever so thankful. Great job w/your exercise and thanks so much for your support and encouragement!

V on 08/03/2010:
I am super proud of you girl! I have noticed that you are in the zone!!! keep it up and you will be in those 12's :)

V on 08/03/2010:
So if i am not mistaken you are in WV right? If you have a Kroger Sweetbay or Publix's you can find laughing cow there. There are so many new flavors and they are all yummy. At 35 calories a wedge you can't go wrong.

Umpqua on 08/04/2010:
Alcide! That's my fangirl shoutout for the day ;) Great job with the calories and exercises!!

Maria7 on 08/04/2010:
Hey, Moody. Hoping you've been having a nice day today! Thinking of ya! :-)

(Working out, eating better)

Hola Mi Amiga's!

I hope you have all had a wonderful Monday! I've had a very relaxing few days~I did NOTHING this weekend and it felt wunnnnderful..lol~I purposefully didn't exercise, and I didn't count calories either. I did go over on calories (1500) on both Saturday and Sunday, but not by too much and not with anything gross. My indulgence this weekend was sunflower seeds~lots and lots of sunflower seeds, in the shell. I am like a little bird sitting on my couch, with my bag of sunflower seeds and a bowl for the shells, watching movies and yesterday I literally sat on my couch all day, in my pajamas watching America's Next Top Model all day, munching sunflower seeds...hahahaha~I'm totally ok with it~I really believe it's all about balance, and if I do well 5 days of the week, workout, keep my calories below 1500..then on the weekends, it's ok for me to relax a little. Like I said, I didn't pig out on pizza or doughnuts, or candy, or ice cream, or chips....which I have done in the past, trust me, and felt major guilt over it along with a healthy dose of self disgust...~nah, it wasn't anything like that this weekend...I just didn't eat my usual chicken breast and veggies, potatoes...nor did I work out. I have decided to take the weekends off from exercise, unless I choose to workout~if the urge hits me to hop on the treadmill or something, I will definitely do that~

So today was back at it~got up at 9:30 or so, made coffee, watched a little tv, hopped on the treadmill at 11:00, watched The Price Is Right and listened to my iPod working out~showered, did dishes, cleaned the kitchen...not much to do around here actually~my house is clean, laundry is caught up~I didn't feel like going anywhere, so I simply hung out around here..relaxing.

All that is going to change in a few weeks~Classes start up on August 23rd~I'll have class M-W-F from 9:00-12:00, and then from 7:00-9:45 pm on Wednesday evenings. So, I WILL still workout 5 days a week, but may move a couple of my workout days to the weekend, because I have a feeling I won't want to get off work at 7:00 in the morning, come home, get ready for school, head to class til noon, then come home and workout~I don't know tho~I'll just have to see how I am feeling. But I am 10000% committed to keeping my 5 day a week workout schedule when school starts back up~I am WORTH 45 minutes a day of movement~I OWE it to myself to make that time for ME~

Today after my workout, I showered, and caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror~I usually avoid looking at myself undressed...it's not something I enjoy seeing, because all I see is fat and flaws. Today tho, when I caught a glimpse of myself, just after my workout..yes, those same negative thoughts went thru my head.."look at how fat you are" "gross, fat"...but then, something new happened...I actually got mad at myself for thinking that way...I started thinking how THANKFUL I was for my body. Yes, Thankful! Let me see if I can explain this~I was thankful that I my body was able to workout the way it just did~I was thankful that even tho I am overweight, my body has hung in there and is healthy~I was thankful that this overweight body hasn't failed me~I was thankful that this body was getting stronger. Instead of hating what I saw, I began seeing my body as something to be grateful for. Is it a beautiful body? Not beautiful no...but it has potential!!! I'm not striving for perfection~I simply want to be healthy. I don't want to be skinny~I want to be fit. When I am on the treadmill, one thing I say over and over, as a mantra of sorts is "Size 12, Size 12"~LOL~Now some of you may be mortified if you were a size 12~but to me, for MY body, my height..when I have been a size 12 in the past, I look good! A comfortable size 12~where I can take my jeans out of the dryer and slide right into them and zip them up~That's my goal. I won't ever be a size 6...It's not who I am~I have a bigger chest, I have hips, I have an a$$~I've always been curvy..In fact, that was a nickname one of my ex boyfriends had for me, Curves~So yeh, Size 12 please!

I currently can wear 3 different sizes...it depends on the cut of the pant...I have one pair of jeans that are a size 15, which fit great...a few pairs of size 16 that fit fine, and one pair of size 18's that I've had forever and wear...and yes, sadly they still fit...albeit they are loose, but still. One pair of 16's I can slide off without unbuttoning or unzipping...and yet I have 2 other pairs of 16's that are Levi's and can't get them on~sigh...they are goal jeans. So yeh, it just depends...But Size 12 is my ultimate goal and one I am determined to reach by the end of the year...

Ok...enough ramblin

Calories today~1,284

Exercise~45 minutes on the treadmill~

Didn't get much water tho...sigh

Hoping everyone has had a wonderful day!!!

tangalyn on 08/02/2010:
i love sunflower seeds, and used to love watching top model.. but i have missed a few seasons :( i like the new thoughts u had about ur body today.. that seems like a jab in the right direction, we take so many things for granted.. when in reality no matter how bad we think we look, there is a wholeee lotta ppl who look worse, and some who cant even move.. so we do have a lot to be thankful for in that way, just takes alot of time to realise what we have and find ways to make it even better, have a great day!

Maria7 on 08/02/2010:
I was just fixing to write you and...wala!...there was your Monday entry! How about that?????

Looks like you had a really nice, relaxing weekend and still got your housework and all done. :-)

It's good to have a goal. Mine for years has been to be BACK to a size 8 again...I was happiest that size 8 years ago and am glad I FINALLY got back to it again. ALTHOUGH now I'm having a BIG FIGHT to STAY in them!!! My skinny jeans are all cotton LEVIS size 8 jeans, LONG. Also when I met my Hubby, I was wearing size 9 in regular (larger than Levis) jeans so I guess I was about the same size as a Levis 8 back then, too......long, long time ago. I guess we each have different sizes we feel our happiest with. We are all different, but cheering each other on to our goals, nontheless.

Looks like you've got a good schedule for your upcoming school year. I enjoyed reading your entry, Moody. :-)

Maria7 on 08/02/2010:
PS...did I tell you I'm a SUNFLOWER GIRL, too???? :-D

Maria7 on 08/02/2010:
PS again...you did real well with your 1284 cals and 45 mins treadmill today! Go, MOODY!!! :-)

CoverGirl on 08/02/2010:
:) Im just lucky we didnt have any Lucky Charms wanna bes...Those are my absolute fave :) I love that you are so accepting of your body and its flaws..I just wish that I could feel the same way. All I can see is the negative aspects.

<p>Thank you for the compliment, he is sooo cute, although a real handful :)

loveray on 08/02/2010:
yay for being thankful for your body, i love this. so glad you had that turn-around thought in your head- i catch myself doing things like that a lot and it eventually gets easier as you train your mind. xoxo

just42day on 08/02/2010:
Don't you just love relaxing weekends? Lounging is so under rated. I endorse it fully! Thanks, too, for your kind words. Have a great evening!

moogy on 08/02/2010:
I don't think eating sunflower seeds all day is counted as a binge, not sure it has an official name, but it is definately not a binge. It is good that you have recognised that whatever shape our bodies are wonderful things. I lounge quite a lot, because I am a nanna, and it's my official position. Grandchildren can jump on me, big people know where I am to discuss matters that require wisdom and calmness. Yes, lounging is good.

SkinnyGrlWithin on 08/02/2010:
thank you!! But i'm not completely sure about the results yet... I went back and measured again and in one spot it was still 28" but in another spot it was 29" so I dunno where i measured it before?? I'm just going to think of it like I didn't lose that inch... it'll keep me working harder!

V on 08/02/2010:
Amen to that sister! Sunday I posted a poem that addresses "image" and if you haven't read it you should def. check it out! I agree with you wholehearted that living a healthy life is my main concern but I find myself getting caught in the numbers game sometimes but I am getting alot better :) thank you for your feedback on my post. Have a great evening :)

WI3 on 08/03/2010:
ROTFL I am a sunflower seed addict! I had to laugh because I know exactly what you are talking about! Glad you took some much needed relaxation time :) Have a great week!

2luvself on 08/03/2010:
your doing great and you have such a great attitude. I am sure that once classes start up you will find a way to fit it all in. They say that people who have cheat days every-once in a while have a better time at sticking to the diet so I would not worry to bad about taking the time out it will probably help your body and mind more then anything else.

sweetpea1977 on 08/03/2010:
great entry. Loved that second to last paragraph!! Thanks for reminding us all to always appreciate and love our body no matter what size we are. :)

Have a great healthy week!!

Ok, I am keeping this very short because TWICE now, I have written my entry and pushed something, somehow and deleted it!! YES TWICE! So I am a bit frustrated and not going to write again tonight~

Just wanted to say tho, THANK YOU to everyone who responded to my last entry~your words of concern, support and encouragement, and for sharing some of your personal stories with me, means more to me than I can ever express here..it's really, really appreciated my friends~I wish I could crawl thru the screen and hug each and every one of you!

And yes, I am standing here, waiting to be beaten with a wet noodle for going so long without my thyroid medication~I know, I know, WI3!!! hahahaha~

Ok, seriously, will post more tomorrow~I'm feeling really good tho~

Hope everyone has had a wonderful day!!

tangalyn on 07/30/2010:
thats happened to me a couple times, i think storms was the cause of it for me tho.. but still sucked! anyways im glad u got to post finally.. he at least asked me first today, thats a big step up for him, and it honestly didnt bother me tooooo much because i had known they had these plans for a while, just didnt know it would be today.... but whatever, he said he wouldnt go if i didnt want him to, that really is alot more than he ever said before, but i still have some doubts about him.. so i guess we'll see as the days go by :) hope u have a good night :)

CoverGirl on 07/30/2010:
HHey there :) Hope you are feeling n doing better today !

sweetpea1977 on 07/30/2010:
Oh my gosh, I just read your previous entry. I dont know how in the world I missed it! I am so glad you went to the doctor to get yourself help. I've had bouts of depression hit me in the last 10 years and I finally got the courage to see a doctor about it last December. I felt like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders as soon as I got done talking to him. Anyway, Im glad you were able to get such wonderful support from our ladies here.

Hope you have a fantastic evening and weekend!

just42day on 07/30/2010:
Yes, I fought counting calories for @ 2.5 months. Just started it a few weeks ago and it's such an eye opener! Hope things continue to go well for you! :)

getmebackto150 on 07/30/2010:
uuggghhh I've had that mysterious deleting entry before too... So annoying!!! Glad to hear you are feeling well!!

Maria7 on 07/30/2010:
That also has happened to my entries before...I have retrieved them sometimes (not all) by clicking on the 'back' button and resubmitting them. Thanks for your wonderful comment...so encouraging. You do encourage a lot of folks, I've noticed. It IS appreciated. I'm so happy to read your entry and know that you are feeling better. It may be slow at times and it may be a roller coaster at times, but hang in there, it'll keep getting better and better! :-) Have a good evening.

V on 07/30/2010:
LOL you are too funny :)

WI3 on 07/31/2010:
He heeeeeeeeeee...BB knew I was going to say something LOL!! Thyroid problems are AWFUL and sure can make us feel really really crappy really quickly...and then blessed relief when we get it regulated properly. Keep up the good fight!! You are an amazing lady!

2luvself on 07/31/2010:
