puddles on 10/17/2014:
Good morning Raven - It could have be worst you did good with only one dish. I read a long time ago that we should never have bananas or rice on a diet. Don't ask me why but maybe you should google it. Keep up the good job and have a great day.

animob on 10/17/2014:
have a healthy day indeed! I love that tag line! BTW, is that you breakfast, lunch and dinner?

Good morning Raven. I am a popcorn addict also. I enjoy it way too much to keep it around. Are your popcorn bag the small ones or the regular size ones? You water is really good wish I could drink that much water. Keep up the good work. Have a great day Raven.

Destiny65 on 10/15/2014:
I really have to try the Wendys Potato and Chilli that I see on your list. Great job on the water.

thinkpositive on 10/16/2014:
Love the Wendy's potato & chili! Not sure what the calories are though, but seems healthy.

Prayers, 2eggsBeans1bread1cSoup, popcorn, steakEggAndCheese without 1/2 the biscuit. ( it was a freebie from McDonald's "monopoly game".) More popcorn, applesauce, apple, salad, leftover sauerkraut, more...1/2 bag microwave popcorn, sweet potato, yogurt, 2c soup, a handful of those cheese flavored Styrofoam disc thingys, 2 sugarfree jellos, CottageCheesePineapple. H20 was 93oz. Scored more Peppers, Turnips, Apple's and SweetPotatoes last night from the guy who runs a produce stand. He brought them in to give away "Free". Gonna try to make some kinda vegetable medley with olive oil and baked in foil. It's good to see more people reporting in here at DD. Maybe we should have a reunion.

Progress as of today: 23 lbs lost so far, only 34 lbs to go!

puddles on 10/14/2014:
Good morning Raven - Styrofoam thingys - LOL - the things we will eat. A reunion now that would be interesting. Actually we have a reunion every day we are on this site. Home you have a great day.

museumgirl on 10/14/2014:
I love veggies with olive oil in foil. We do them on the grill sometimes or in the oven. I add chunks of garlic - delicious when it gets crispy! Wish I could score some free veggies! Have a great day.

Destiny65 on 10/14/2014:
Styrofoam things! Lol!

puddles on 10/13/2014:
Good afternoon Raven. Is your Sunday routine any different from all the other days? We usually have the answer our behaviors. Make an inventory of your Sundays and you might be surprised as to what you find. Do not get discouraged. You are doing good and your efforts will pay off. Have a great day.

biscottibody59 on 10/13/2014:
You must be doing something right:-)

Horn_Of_Plenty on 10/13/2014:
when I am not at work and have access to food all day, I find it hard to eat moderately also...and Monday I am always so hungry after eating more during the weekend.

you asked about my veggies. I do admit I do not always cook them myself, but, I do not only steam. I almost always add at least oil into the mix. the tastiest veggies I've had lately are ones I buy - it's a healthy slaw salad made with some herbs and a light maybe even only vinegar (and maybe a little oil) - anyways, the store tends to take leftovers and sautee them! The sautee the slaw salad and it's the best tasting thing I've ever had as far as veggies go. They sometimes add black beans and even craisins into it...sometimes even some rice and chick peas and all sorts of exatras making it a really nice, fulfilling, tasty dish.

anyways, when I order thai food, the veggies are cooked either in a curry or a sauce that may be either garlic, basil, or ginger. I live in a busy metro area, so for me, it's easy to get prepared food. Even the supermarkets now have sautéed veggies (even if it's string beans or something more basic) most days. However, when cooking myself, it's generally olive oil or similar, garlic or onion cooked in, and some stir fry or Asian sauce also. the options are really endless and as long as you are not coating your veggies in bread crumbs and literally frying them, a stir fry and sauce isn't a bad thing. if you need to watch salt, now this is my opinion, you can still cook them this way, and put them on a salad (so some of the meal is not in sauce!). I do this, I sometimes will eat the cooked veggies with lettuce (on top of a salad) for added volume. I have definitely experimented a lot on a how to eat a huge volume of food for little calories. sometimes it still adds up though, as I really do go overboard sometimes :)

Horn_Of_Plenty on 10/13/2014:
and actually, I do also steam (sometimes I do add a lil salt even though it's not the healthiest) but usually I then eat those steamed veggies with veggies that were cooked with a little more flavor / sauce. I do not try to drink up the sauce though - I eat whatever is on the veggies ;)

Prayers, 2eggsBeans1bread1cSoup, bananna, apple, applesauce, popcorn, salad, chickenbreast, turnip, 2 sugarfree jellos, Yogurt, sweet potato, 2cups soup, grapes, pb samwich, potato salad, more grapes, popcorn, CottageCheesePineapple. H2O was 118 oz. I really shouldn't have had the peanutbutter sandwich, but I felt soup alone wouldn't have been enough. What should I have done instead ? Some lady brought potato salad especially for me to the bluegrass last night. (BlessHerHeart !) I didn't eat it all, and politely informed her was on a diet. HaveaHealthyDay !

Progress as of today: 23 lbs lost so far, only 34 lbs to go!

puddles on 10/11/2014:
Good morning Raven - The peanut butter sandwich why don't you have an open face sandwich which reduces the bread to one instead of two. I understand you - do you eat because you are hungry or just bored? I am rarely hungry I just eat to eat. I do not have a cut off switch that tells me I am not hungry. I don't know what that is until I am so stuffed that I feel as if I am going to be sick. It is very discouraging to be like that. It is hard to explain this to normal people. Anyway you are doing good and keep up the good work. Have a great day.

shams on 10/11/2014:
OhioRaven... mmmm.... sometimes two or three days of the week to have 3-4 or 2-3 types of food. As 1. salad 2. soup 3... Maybe, that helped me maintain and even losing depending of the four types i pick for the day. Have a good day.

Horn_of_plenty on 10/11/2014:
Yeah I have had this pain so long I don't know if I am getting better or worse and it's so stressful.

I used to eat a lot of sf jello but stopped bc it generally made me hungrier and wanting to binge either after or in the days following.

museumgirl on 10/11/2014:
Potato salad is hard for me to resist, too. I'm afraid I've have eaten it all! Good for you! I agree with Puddles - try the open face, or 1/2 sandwich. Sometimes with soup, we just need something to chew. have a good day

biscottibody59 on 10/11/2014:
Yeah, blessyourheart means something "very special" haha here where I'm from!

biscottibody59 on 10/09/2014:
Hope you're doing well:-)

A few too many ingredients for me in the soup, but if you dig it, that's all that matters.

Just a heads-up about the quinoa if you've never used it, unless it's pre-rinsed, it has to be rinsed before cooking or it lends bitterness.

OhioRaven on 10/09/2014:
Yeah, Biscuit. I've been feeling pretty good. Just spending the day looking down at my gut. The soup is more of a Stew actually. The quinoa was in a Pretty Package. I'll rinse the next batch.

Horn_of_plenty on 10/09/2014:
Real healthy eating ohio! I am telling you, veggies are my favorite drug! I eat them prepared in all ways except actually frying them haha ;) I will eat them sautéed, roasted, stir fried....etc. u can eat so many and fill out your meal and not deprive yourself if the other food - just eat less of it and indulge even overindulge in veggies! I do most days.

Anyways, thanks for all the kind words :). Yep a tue Yankee I am ;)

Good morning Raven - Your water levels are good. You seem to have that doing good. What do you use for your soup base? Keep up the good work. Just being aware of what we eat makes a big difference at least for me. Take care and have a great day.

museumgirl on 10/08/2014:
Yes, what do you use for soup base? I found a Trader Joe's chicken broth that is pretty low in sodium, but I'd like to go lower... All those veggies - I'll be that soup is going to be awesome. I still haven't made any....
