Thank you to everyone for wishing me well on my little road trip. I didn't eat too badly. I did pack some snacks. I have to make the trip again this Saturday morning.


Banana, SunflowerSeedsCranberriesBrazilnut(put these in a bag and made my own trail mix.)

Mcsalad (used the free card)

3apples, 3bigPickles, 2grapefruit, 2minipopcorns.

1c soup

Water...What water ?!? 1glass and a 16oz bottle.

Tried to eat a little Greek yogurt.

Going to drive to Virginia this afternoon. Hope I don't snack too much on Road Food.

I combat road food by taking my own, stopping at groceries or just getting a big diet soft drink - a treat in itself since I hardly drink them anymore.....good luck on your trip. I saw your commnet to graindart about others thinking you look "sick" now...don't worry about it. It takes awhile for others to adjust to a new you! In a way you know that they are really noticing and that you have made big changes!

BTW, if you want your little progress line to not be in the negative (-14 is what it shows), you can just make your goal weight whatever your current weight is. Or leave it as is:-) Didn't know if you knew that.

How tall are you and what type of build? (small, average, large/husky/big boned) The reason I ask is my goal weight is 179 and you're approaching it. (I'm 5'10" and average to large build.)

Worked an extra shift.

Foraging found Ginseng and Nettles. Cooked, ate the nettles. They were good, reminded me of spinach. Gathered some dandelions for this weeks soup.

Weigh-in tomorrow.

Looks good--you're a regular Euell Gibbons:-) Other than the old grapenuts commercial he was famous for--I saw a great documentary about him--he was quite something when it came to foraging and teaching others about it. Apparently his mother was his first "foraging" teacher.

He typically prepared these not in the wild, but in the kitchen with abundant use of spices, butter and garnishes. Several of his books discuss what he called "wild parties": dinner parties where guests were served dishes prepared from plants gathered in the wild. His favorite recommendations included lamb's quarters, rose hips, young dandelion shoots, stinging nettle and cattails. He often pointed out that gardeners threw away the more tasty and healthy crop when they pulled such weeds as purslane and amaranth out from among their spinach plants."

Water was low = 1/2 gallon.


No exercise

The cucumbers and squash in the harden are in trouble and I don't know why. They kind of shriveled up and turned pale. I think I gotta swap them out and test my soil again. Maybe too much nitrogen.

Foraging found wild Garlic. Found all the differences between them, onions and death camas.

We had rehearsal at a band mate's house yesterday, now that the weather is better. He grilled out and we all brought a covered dish. I brought a green bean cassarole. We are doing a 50s show at the end of the month. I still think I over-ate a bit.





1c greenbean cassarole, 1/4c baked beans, 1c strawberrys/blueberries mix, 1 veg burger no bun.


Water 1 gallon, 2c dandelion tea, 1 big coffee. Prayers

No exercise

Gardening was put in 3 Stevia plants, tilled a small patch under some shade trees for a winter/shady plant garden.

Foraging was finding wild onions and mint.

Oh, grapefruit sounds good! Did OK with my water today - it's kind of hit or miss. You and V and Puddles always do great - maybe others too - but those come to mind first - :-)
