Read Umpqua's post about planting seeds for this years garden, and It got me to think...what should I be planting this year ? I'm thinking It's the same things I eat, now that I'm a healthy dieter. Tomatoes, beans, cucumbers (for making pickles of course)...not sure what else. Biscotti has got me thinking of sweet potatoes. I think I should plant these and incorporate them into my diet.

I OverAte yesterday. Couldn't stop myself on GetBack's Curried Lentils. BigSalad instead of SideSalad, Made soup for the week and had an extra dipper, 3 grapefruit... (3). But thanks to LoLLa, and the whole gang at the Double D, I got out of my funky ways and got motivated again. Whether you guys knew it or not, it was JUST WHAT I NEEDED ! thanks again you guys. I'm off to a healthy start again.

200Lbs. This morning. Did NOT make goal...yet.(Doh) BUT...I lost another pound.(Woo-hoo) So, I'll get to Onderland when It's my time and not before. I'm still keeping my weigh-in on Mondays and won't "peek" through the week.

Playing Bluegrass this weekend. 80th Birthday for Les "Muleskinner" Ratliff. He helped me when I started raising Chickens. I started calling him the "Chicken Whisperer". Because he knew so much. I only have 7 birds now, 8 if you count the duck. My girls lay the biggest eggs in the county. You can't close an extra large egg carton around them. I've been giving the eggs away to a free store for years. They help people in need. I always keep the smallest egg for my 1egg breakfast. The reason is a good one and a story to be told later. I've lost my little pocket diary. I record everything I eat in it throughout the day. Also my exercises. And some other important dates that are coming up that I forget already. So, I'm going from memory.(Not Good). Tried the Monk Fruit. It was the Splenda brand. (Umpqua knows what I mean) but I didn't think much of it... yet. Also bought Dandelion root tea. Wow ! Do you have a garden plot? In previous years I've done tomatoes, peppers, peas and beans and herbs in pots on my deck. This year I'm going a little crazy, although not trying potatoes or sweet potatoes. Let me know if you do - I LOVE sweet potatoes!
Yep ! I got a pretty good sized plot. My tiller broke down last year. No saving it. I gotta get another one. I just like putting my toe in the dirt. I looked into the sweet potatoes at the feed store. I'm on a list of people to get slips (starts) when they come in.

My days of planting a garden are over. I go to our local market and it seems almost ridiculous at the prices I can buy it from the farmers at the market. I usually go after Lunch and everybody makes deals because they do not want to bring it back. Great discounts. It is also a nice day out at the market. Unfortunately it is only during summer time. I thought about you a lot last night during my struggles. Have a great day Raven.

Sweet potatoes are really good for you. My hubby puts them in curries sometimes and I use them when I make soup.

overtime doesnt sound fun....sweet potatoes are AWESOME. I used to eat them everyday. Really good for weightloss. May even attempt to start again once my tummy issue is solved.

I take all the advise I get some days it work and their are days where my mind just drives me crazy. There is one thing I know for sure is that I am determine to get to the end of this journey even if every day is a struggle I will get there. Got my shopping done today things are looking up. I am a very positive person.
I think I know what you're talking about. Remember my post when I said there was a battle going on between my eats ? Or something like that. Yeah, that's how it feels.

Curry is an Indian or Thai dish, mild to hot spicy. Lots of veggies, meat or meat substitute or beans, a sauce. Served on rice. My hubby cooks different ones with different ingredients.

I was just looking up sweet potatoe and it is pretty high in calories 1/2 cup is 170 cal. There are 0 fats if boiled and 40gm carbs but I wonder if they are considered good or bad carbs.
