I'm greatful that spring is almost here. The earth can't tilt back fast enough for me. I really snipe, grumble and complain when its unsesonably cold. My buddy, Kevin Miller, is leaving to build a church in the South. I wonder if the Lord would call ME to a warmer climate.

Progress as of today: 31 lbs lost so far, only 2 lbs to go!

grannyannie on 03/09/2013:
Healthy menu and good workout! Enjoy your weekend.

Hope that it will warm up nicely there really soon! Have a good one Ohio :)

graindart on 03/09/2013:
I can't wait for Spring either, although Winter has been quite mild in Montana this year. We usually have a week or two each year where we don't get above zero for a high. This year I don't remember a day where our high was below zero. So either the Winter was milder or my memory is progressively getting worse. If I can't move to the south, Al Gore can bring the south's weather to me.

I FOUND MY DIARY ! It was in the crack of the couch. Phew !

Went to the rescheduled church supper last night. Did okay.

Playing Bluegrass this weekend. 80th Birthday for Les "Muleskinner" Ratliff. He helped me when I started raising Chickens. I started calling him the "Chicken Whisperer". Because he knew so much. I only have 7 birds now, 8 if you count the duck. My girls lay the biggest eggs in the county. You can't close an extra large egg carton around them. I've been giving the eggs away to a free store for years. They help people in need. I always keep the smallest egg for my 1egg breakfast. The reason is a good one and a story to be told later. Have a healthy day.

Umpqua on 03/08/2013:
A couple of our friends raise chickens and their eggs are fantastic. Hubby wanted to do it but I'm not up for all the work. Enjoy your fresh eggs!

Yayyy you found your diary :) I have to say that the size of those eggs are impressive, I think you may be a "chicken whisperer" as well :) Have a great weekend, I am sure you will rock the bluegrass fest!

I've lost my little pocket diary. I record everything I eat in it throughout the day. Also my exercises. And some other important dates that are coming up that I forget already. So, I'm going from memory.(Not Good). Tried the Monk Fruit. It was the Splenda brand. (Umpqua knows what I mean) but I didn't think much of it... yet. Also bought Dandelion root tea. Wow ! Kind of a nutty flavor. All of this stuff is from watching Dr. Oz. Anyone else watch the good Dr. ? Well, that's about it. Have a healthy day.

Progress as of today: 31 lbs lost so far, only 2 lbs to go!

getmebackto150 on 03/07/2013:
Your menu looks good! Find that pocket diary! Or get a new one, if its working for you, you don't want to rock the boat!! have a great day:)

OhioRaven on 03/07/2013:
I guess I'll try a smart phone version to keep my food on. You have a great day too.

biscottibody59 on 03/07/2013:
dr oz ain't my cup of tea--haha! I hope you find your diary!

Puddles on 03/07/2013:
I know what you mean because I keep a little book on everything I did in one day. It is my little precious gem. All the goods and the bads of each day. Hope you find it. Have a great day. Had a 3 hr nap early this morning.

Umpqua on 03/07/2013:
I got monk fruit in the raw yesterday and I like it! But I'm used to stevia so the monk fruit has less of an aftertaste for me. I don't know anything about dandelion tea but I love tea and am open to trying new stuff. That sucks about your diary - after a lot of stubbornness I went electronic with all my logging/recording since I have my gadgets with me at all times.

OhioRaven on 03/07/2013:
I hope you have a more relaxing day today. Be careful if you try Dandelion root tea. I think it made me, well...excited.

grannyannie on 03/07/2013:
Nice meal plan and workout. I guess I won't look for monk fruit!

OhioRaven on 03/07/2013:
I didn't know about the heroin, but I knew he wasn't too fond of being around people with mental problems. Hence the "Crippled Inside" song. See ya .

grannyannie on 03/07/2013:
He always made fun of disabled people, even where they could hear him. One disgusting fact was that he was sorry his mum died before he had a chance to *** her. Ack.

OhioRaven on 03/07/2013:
Ack !

lolla on 03/07/2013:
I watch dr.Oz, always on tivo because there is half I can use, half that is useless most of the time. Like everything, you take what is good, leave the bad. There was a great article about him on the new yorker. Here's the link http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2013/02/04/130204fa_fact_specter. I do want to try the dandelion tea, hehehe...

OhioRaven on 03/06/2013:
Honestly, Cheese...I think if I can just maintainers and just keep going. Not just on the weight part, but all of it. Be aware of my diet and exercise every day, and not fall back into some comfortable stage where "I got it now. I can cruise from here." I've done this too many times and I see a pattern.

grannyannie on 03/06/2013:
Good luck at dinner. Have an amazing day.

Sorry I couldn't get to everyone on here. Everyone was leaving good encouraging comments. I wanted to do the same.

It's Very Good, to see some of the "Lost Sheep" coming back to the flock and post again. It shows that they haven't given up. WELCOME BACK !

Thank you to those who helped me decide what to do about artificial sweeteners. But it looks like Dr. Oz and the Hungry Girl came up with what I'm gonna try next. Monk Fruit. Haven't tried it yet. I'll keep you all posted.

Have a healthy day.

Peanut butter has a great deal of protein and healthy fats (try to get the natural kind with the oil on top), BUT its also high in calories so stick to the 2 tsp per serving. I absolutely love PB. If you ever feel like you need an extra energy boost...Peanut butter and toast. Sometimes I eat it just before a workout or when Im really hungry. Whats a brazilnut? Looking forward to the Mungfruit! Sounds tasty!!! Have a good one raven!

OhioRaven on 03/05/2013:
I'm sorry, its Monk Fruit.

Umpqua on 03/05/2013:
Must Google MungFruit - I have no clue what it is. I do have mung beans in the house that I'm going to try, and I suspect they're not related haha. Have a good one!

OhioRaven on 03/05/2013:
I'm sorry its Monk Fruit.

thenewMLE on 03/05/2013:
You're still melting the pounds away!!! Congrats! I've been unable to get to everyone too do to work, but I really get a lot out of reading what everyone is trying. I have never heard of Mungfruit, but I guess I will do some research. I use splenda and Torani syrups that are made with splenda. I bake with it too. I have stevia for my tea. But I am open to try something that is not artificial. I was disappointed with the Stevia for baking. Keep up the good work!

OhioRaven on 03/05/2013:
I'm sorry, It's Monk Fruit.

grannyannie on 03/05/2013:
Sounds like you're doing well. I eat pb as well - unsweetened - but I weight it on a gram scale - 10 grams is 60 cals for the kind I buy. Very satisfying especially on oat cakes (oats, oil, salt).

OhioRaven on 03/05/2013:
Hi, Annie. Rest day ? ? ? What the heck is that. ?

getmebackto150 on 03/05/2013:

Puddles on 03/05/2013:
Good morning Raven - I am glad you have something new to try. I am lucky that I do not need sweetener in coffee but would love to be able to get rid of the half and half. I figure that if that is my only real bad habit right now I am doing OK. lol Have a great day and good luck with your Monk Fruit.

OhioRaven on 03/05/2013:
Thanks Puddy. I wish I had as few bad habits as you. Take care of yourself, and your cabinets and enjoy your egg foo.

Umpqua on 03/04/2013:
Wow - persistence pays off. Congrats!! P.S. Stevia is an acquired taste. What kind are you using? I have a liquid extract with almond flavor, but you can also get chocolate, vanilla, etc. I would suggest adding just a few drops and taking it from there. If you're using a powder, scale that back too. If you like flavored coffee, maybe just adding straight extract would be the way to go if you don't like sweetener.

Got a workout in :v) Weigh-in tomorrow. I'm trying stevia instead of splenda in my coffe/tea. It tastes "very" sweet. I may not like it. I don't like the "taste" of regular sugar, honey, or that syrup stuff I think its called guava nectar. Any other ideas for sweetening coffee is appreciated.

Progress as of today: 27 lbs lost so far, only 6 lbs to go!

V on 03/03/2013:
Good Morning Ohio :) Hope that you find a suitable sweetener..Have a good day :)

grannyannie on 03/03/2013:
I've got 3 boxes of stevia in my cupboard but am trying not to use any artificial sweeteners. Don't know if I can get used to not having certain things sweetened, cappuccino is one of the things I like very sweet. Have a nice Sunday. Well done on the workout.

nunnermack on 03/03/2013:
Yuck, yuck!! I hate artifical sweetners!! I just use raw sugar and count the extra calories. I think it's only 35 per teaspoon so, not a lot. And I too like Annie have a whole bunch of Stevia in my cupboard. Don't know what I'm gonna do with it. Yuck! Phooey!!

biscottibody59 on 03/03/2013:
I think if you don't use an awful lot splenda, it should be fine, especially if that's the only thing you use it in and are concerned with the health and safety aspect of it.

Also there are products from "SoDelicious" made with coconut milk that are all right. They don't contain artificial sweeteners or HF corn syrup if you like milk in your coffee too.

Thanks for you thoughts on the quotation!

Puddles on 03/03/2013:
I am of no help to you with sugar I drink my coffee with milk only and actually do not even have sugar in the house not something I use at all. Since I have a sweet tooth I do not keep baking stuff either - easy to do when you live alone. Good luck tomorrow on your weigh-in.

graindart on 03/03/2013:
Coffee is one thing I've never been able to stand. I've tried adding everything or nothing to it and I can't handle more than a sip or two. The weird thing is that freshly brewed coffee is one of my favorite smells. I've actually ordered coffee before just to have it sit at the table so that I could smell the aroma. Good luck on the weigh-in tomorrow.

OhioRaven on 03/03/2013:
Hey, Dart. That really is weird. My daughter is starting to drink coffee and she's putting in lots of cream and sugar. You're doing good, man. I think the home exercise is the best investment you cam make for yourself. Take care.

No excersise (again) ***Kicking myself.

I'm at McDonald's having coffee with Darla before she goes to work. I didn't have my usual salad at work yesterday cause it went bad before I could get to it. It seems someone turned the thermostat on the fridge at work higher and froze my salad bags. They just turn to crap after that. I went off on everyone, you know, the way people on a diet lose their mind sometimes, when they get grumpy/cranky. (poor co-workers) I think the fridge will stay on my same setting for a while.

The wedding was a good one. Although I couldn't find a "grilled" chicken breast to save my life. Bluegrass this morning in a couple hours. Then move a hot tub with my brother. Church tonight.

I swear (hand raised) (solemn look) I will get some excersise tonight. Everyone have a healthy day.

I've allowed myself to get so busy this week that I haven't exercised, either. But, that is going to change. Today, I swear (solemn look), I am going to the gym! LOL

Your coworkers are probably planning an intervention (hehehehe)! They'll begin having flashbacks each time they come within 4 feet of that refrigerator! LOL

Enjoy your packed weekend! I grew up on wedding food because I was a wedding photographer from age 16 until 35. We shot 3 weddings a weekend and we had 6 hours coverage per wedding. Looking back on it, I don't know how I did it!! New Orleans weddings are not sit down occasions. They are fancy hors d'Ĺ“uvre and carving stations and lots and lots of dancing! If your feeling tired, boost the protein before you go. Good Luck!
