OhioRaven - Wednesday Feb 13, 2013
(Clean eating, exercise.)
Weight: 212.0

1egg, 1bread, soup, beans.

BobEvan's Cobb salad, minipopcorn, 1/2 pickle.

Wendy potato plain w/lightRanch, sm. Chili, 2crackers.

Yogurt, 1/4c blueberries, banana, 2grapefruit.

Water

Prayers

10min. Elliptical

10min. Treadmill

Wifey is making some "bean" something or other today. I dunno,...I'll let you all know what becomes of it. Wednesday's used to be spaghetti night, but I switched to where I just eat sauerkraut or something. I don't really miss it.

I was able to get on the elliptical for a little while. And I'm walking pretty good now. My wound is healing nicely. I remember when I started this journey with you guys and decided to get off the couch, I could barely stay on the treadmill for 10min. Now I see a steady increase of my stamina and physical ability. Darla noticed it too :v)

Have a good day.

Progress as of today: 20 lbs lost so far, only 13 lbs to go!

Umpqua on 02/13/2013:
I want to hear more about the bean thing haha. I've been slowly adding beans to our diet over the past couple of years and I can get my non-bean eating hubby to eat them in burger and curry form. Good going on the elliptical!

Puddles on 02/13/2013:
Your doing good with the exercises. Good job. Have a great day.

thenewMLE on 02/13/2013:
I'm glad you are healing well. Ya know, when you are eating healthy, your healing process is actually enhanced. And the exercise helps the healing too. My dad had MAJOR surgery over Thanksgiving (had a kidney removed) and he actually recovered beautifully because he was so physically fit when he went in. Isn't amazing how your stamina gradually improves? I think back when a half hour bike ride had my heart racing and now I can ride for 1 1/2 hours at a much faster speed and barely feel it! Your body is a machine and you have to fuel it properly and work it daily! I'm glad you joined us - I enjoy your posts! have a great day!

supercheese on 02/13/2013:
haha nice improvement!! Soon youll be running a marathon eh?

Puddles on 02/13/2013:
Thank you Raven. His name is Paul. Both him and my deceased husband where so close so we spent a lot of time with them. I am especially close to him. I certainly have great memories of our time together event thought it was a short period of time - my husband passed away at the age of 36. I hate loosing another one in that family. Thank you again for your prayers - I just hope he makes it to May.

supercheese on 02/13/2013:
Hahaha never say never!

V on 02/13/2013:

congrats on ur loss =)

grannyannie on 02/11/2013:
Good plan for today. Congrats on the loss!

thenewMLE on 02/11/2013:
Another one bites the dust! You need to be more specific with the bean thingy if you like it! We try to eat beans once or twice a week. I did a spicy creamy black beans that we will get back to eating now that I don't have to feed my parents. I like to hear new dishes so I don't get bored with the same thing all of the time. Have a great week!

supercheese on 02/11/2013:
yay on the loss!!!

supercheese on 02/11/2013:
sweet potatoes are most definitely good for us. I used to eat one everyday when they were on sale....and tea is good too if its unsweetened. Alas though, I shall find substitutes.

skinnygrlwithin on 02/11/2013:
Yay for 1lb down!!!

I'm going to weigh in every thursday instead of monday, but I needed to make a point to myself that this weekend was NOT ok.

lolla on 02/11/2013:
Total 20 pounds, that is awesome! no mini popcorn today?

INDEPENDENTEM93 on 02/11/2013:

Bikiniwax85 on 02/11/2013:
Wonder what r you take during your "craving" time. Looking at your menu it is clean and the portion looks like something that I need to follow (Still learning VERY hard with portion control!) nice on for 1lbs loss! :)

i love pickles. you can pickle almost any vegetable yourself at home. i haven't tried - my grandma used to and my boss does. he has brought some in for me! if you & i learn to do it ourselves, we can use more spices and limit the salt we add in. pickled foods are good for filling up on - not many calories ;-)

Puddles on 02/10/2013:
My weigh-in is also tomorrow - 4 weeks tomorrow - It is starting to feel a little bit normal this routine. Good luck.

supercheese on 02/10/2013:
have a good one raven!! Lets hope for a good weigh in tomorrow! I think youll see a -lb! or more!

Puddles on 02/10/2013:
I find that weigh-ins on Monday makes me stay on track on the weekends. No slacking off or I will pay the price.

horn_of_plenty on 02/10/2013:
LOL, i like nice crisp cold pickles. my favorite are half sour, still very crisp & crunchy! :-) the best kinds i've found are from Jewish deli's in the NYC/Long Island area - Ben's has great ones...

Friends come and go in our lives, but thanks to technology it helps a bunch to stay connected (WOW, that sounded like a phone commercial lol) Have a great weekend!

Puddles on 02/09/2013:
It is sad to have friends move away. I was told once that some people come into your life for a reason/a season/forever. They all bring something special to us and I call that the gift of friendship. Have a great weekend.

No Exercise :v(

Dear Diary. Had a small (personal) setback. Outpatient surgery. Everything is fine. The hospital had a tube down my throat. Drank coffee/tea cause they are warm and helped my throat. Still scratchy today but I'm drinking some water today, just don't know how much. I'm at work now sitting at my desk feeling good. I walked ok?, this morning. I'm probably not stair climbing for a while. Just wanted you to know why my excersise is way down. Talk to you later.

Progress as of today: 19 lbs lost so far, only 14 lbs to go!

V on 02/08/2013:
Happy to hear that you are doing well and back to work already after your surgery..Take it easy there Ohio.. Hope you have a good day :)

thenewMLE on 02/08/2013:
I hope you have a quick recovery!! don't be too hard on yourself, just take care of yourself! Once recovered you can get back into your exercise routine. Have a relaxing weekend - is that possible with no football????

legcramps on 02/08/2013:
Oh! I'm so glad you're okay and feeling good today :)

Puddles on 02/08/2013:
Take care and have a good day.

Puddles on 02/08/2013:
I hope you will enjoy it. The only thing is that all is pre-cook chicken slice it up in strips - shred or slice thin slices of cabbage pre-cook and then open can put it all in together and let simmer for about 20 minutes once it has started to bubble. Enjoy. Let me know if you liked it. Good luck

oldguy on 02/08/2013:

20min Treadmill

MLE gave me a good idea. I park a good ways away from my office. And walk to work. Well, I timed myself and counted steps and it was 653 steps and took 6 1/2 min. So that's another13 minutes per day walking. But Im not gonna count it. It's an every day thing. Thanks MLE.

Progress as of today: 19 lbs lost so far, only 14 lbs to go!

hollybelle on 02/07/2013:
Awesome job walking to work. That's smart thinking and good follow through! That reminds me that I used to walk at lunch time. I may start again. I need to "sneak" some exercise into my day. Now, why don't you want to count it? Is it because you just want that to be "normal" activity? Keep up the good work.

V on 02/07/2013:
That is a great idea from MLE :) A former diarist gave me a similar idea as far as walking to the CVS instead of driving 5 blocks(I know ridiculous that I waste gas like that) Anyhoo I have slacked off on doing this, going to have to start doing it more often.. Hope you have a good day :)

IndependentEm93 on 02/07/2013:
That is a great idea. I do that at Walmart or Meijers

oldguy on 02/07/2013:
That's what I try to do but after several knee and achilles surgeries from football, it takes me a little longer. Keep up the good work.

Puddles on 02/07/2013:
it is an easy way to get your exercise in. Most of the time the only parking spot is far away. I think God just does that to me on purpose. lol lol Talk about somebody looking after my best interest.

supercheese on 02/07/2013:
great idea from emily!! Anything counts right?

thenewMLE on 02/07/2013:
Glad I could help! When I started this last year, I used to look for "princess parking" as my daughter calls it and she would tell me that the time I took driving around for the best spot, I could have parked at the back and walked and used that as exercise PLUS time saving. Now I look forward to the brisk walks. I like productive walking - I hated walking around the block just for exercise. That felt like a hamster on a wheel. But walking with a destination and a purpose felt great. Have a great day!

grannyannie on 02/07/2013:
Good job on adding more walking to your day!

biscottibody59 on 02/07/2013:

thenewMLE on 02/06/2013:
Have a great day! So that extra egg yolk that you gave up, does the dog get it every day? Love your wife's comment about being able to reach around you. My hubby and I lost together 65 pounds and we can hug REAL good now!! On a no exercise day, try to park far away from work and power walk in, or run the steps instead of an elevator. I know you walk in the warehouse, but I kept the parking and walking in my routine and it just seems to fire up a little extra cardio!

legcramps on 02/06/2013:
Have a good day today :)

oldguy on 02/06/2013:
What a diet, you must love your sauerkraut. Keep up the good work.

Actually I don't have to worry about the grandkids. They live 8hrs away from me. I am moving back this Summer for that reason. They are too far away boy (Mathias is 6) Girl (Danika is 4) need to get to know them better but they know me as the TV grandma because we Skype a lot. They think I am a Star because I am on TV. LOL I don't keep any of the NO NO food in the house anymore. Thank you for your comments.
