All my water

20min. Treadmill. 15min. Elliptical trainer.

I shouldn't have bought the trail mix. Or the potato. I'm gonna start asking for a broccoli potato without the cheese, then add light ranch dressing. Hoping to get into the teens on the scale tomorrow. I won't be destroyed if I don't. Finally moved the elliptical trainer in front of the tv. GO RAVENS ! ! !

Feeling pretty good. 3 day weekend. Thinking about using the other equipment downstairs. (eliptical, stationary bike, weights, punching bags.) My daughter, Meg, is a waitress at Frisch's. We haven't been in there since before New Years. Too many temptations. She was happy to see us. So I just got a bowl of chili and a glass of water. Wifey followed my lead but got a greasy grilled cheese sandwich with it. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Dear Diary. This morning I felt my belt buckle move to a new position, a good position. One notch up. I didn't have to suck in my gut or force it in any way. It just "slipped" in there like it was supposed to be there. I told my self just yesterday that I wasn't gonna use fractions of food portions, and there I go eating only 1/2 a banana. My banana and yogurt is like my 4th meal of the day and I usually look forward to it. But I dunno, I just didn't want the other half. My snacking was way down too. Only a grapefruit before bed time. I hear it lowers my blood pressure and helps me sleep. And no almonds either. I can't remember who on this site brought up that I should try almonds but it was a great idea. And Thank You. I never go anywhere without a small bag of the m handy. Well that's all I can think of for now, dairy. Take care and thanks for the new belt loop.

2eggs, beans, soup, 1wholewheatbread.

Salad, turkey, pickle.

2c. Sourkraut, 1c. Soup.

2grapefruit, 2bigpickles, handful Almonds, 1banana, 1yogurt.


30min. Treadmill.

As you can see, my meals are pretty much the same thing everyday. Boring, right? Well I really don't mind it. I kind of look forward to my planned meals. I've seen what "freestyle" eating can do to my body. I'm not entering 1/4c of this or 1/3c of that. When I eat beans in the morning its Always the sane 1/4c. Etc. Also; the big ass jug of water is the same big ass jug of water I start with everyday. (i think its 3/4 gallon).

Anyway I don't think of it as boring, I think of it as structured. When we go out its usually Tuesday and the same wendys stuff. Or a McSalad.

Wifey's birthday is coming up (Jan.26th), and we'll probably go to the dinner theater, which is a buffet. But I'm sure I won't be derailed by this.

To wrap it up, I like my new Repetitive, Dull, Common, Planned, Tired, Blase', Bland, Boring, Structured lifestyle.

My meals are the same boring, bland meals too lol. I know my husband isnt a fan but since hes away on his deployment he isnt hear to tell me how much of a fan he is of kale lol. Keep up the good work!

LOL! Before reaching goal weight, my meals were pretty much the same every day too..Actually it still is pretty predictable, just a little more variety haha..Anyhoo I am a fan of structure so I hear what you are saying. Have a wonderful day :)

I don't think it's plain or boring at all... I'm pretty much the same as well, same breakfast same snacks. I need structure as well, because I'm the same as you if it isn't consistent I start to veer off track.

As for your comment yesterday...yes it took me a long time realize it's how I feel that matters and not the scale...now to get back to feeling good!

I'm a fan of structure in most things, but definitely not food. I don't like eating the same food more than once or twice in a week. However, eating the same food more often does make life easier and simpler with less prep work.

I agree with the above, having structure keeps you accountable and you know exactly what you are putting into your body. I think while you are trying to lose, eating mostly the same things with the occasional change is the easiest way to do it!!

The structure is a pattern and that's good. My girls had a swim coach that used to say practice does NOT make perfect - it makes permanence! (if you continue to "practice" something wrong, that doesn't make it right, it just makes it a habit)! So you are practicing good eating habits and enjoying the benefits. As I said the other day, planning and writing it down makes it a done deal for me so if you want to change up your routine a little, plan it on the weekend and shop and cook for it and commit it to writing for the week. I get stuck in a rut with breakfast because I have to grab it to run to work early but after reading other people's breakfasts, GrannieAnnie's porrage sounded good so I started doing steel cut oats and bring that to work to throw my fruit into. In fact, now that it is cold I should do that again! Anyway, I'm sure your new eating is making you feel better! Keep up the good work!

I love routines and schedules and lists! I always find during the week when i'm working, my days are much more structured and I manage to stick to healthy eating and exercise a lot more easily than I do on the weekends. It's all about finding out what works for you!

Drank all my water.

Ex. 20 min on treadmill.

Work was busy as heck. I really walked a lot in the warehouse, but I didn't record it. So I really didn't want to go downstairs in the cold basement to walk. But once I got started I didn't mind it. The big screen TV helped a lot too. Yesterday was the same way but I stayed on for 45min min. What I'm trying to say is, suck it up for a little while and you'll probably find yourself in a happy place and you'll feel better for it. Have a Great day.

You are so right about once you get into the exercise you seem to overcome whatever obstacle was making your excuses. I find when I get the exercise in, I am more obedient to my eating plan. But I really make it a point to write out my eats in the morning and if it is not on the list - I don't eat it. The last few months have been my undoing because life got hectic and I didn't post on the weekend and that's where I was most unaccountable. I know it's silly, but that's my method. You are doing fantastic!! Have a great day!!

You're right about sucking it up and moving forward with your plan to exercise. Lately, I've been inviting people to the gym with me. Even if I don't feel like going, I know I'll do it if I've obligated myself to someone. Even when no one is working out or walking with me, I find that I don't mind doing those things ONCE I actually get started! I've been following your posts (so inspiring!) Keep up the good work :)

Thanks for the suggestion of the stationary bike. I looked into a cool gadget that your real bike sits in and it makes it a stationary bike, but my hubby who has to investigate everything says he doesn't think it's worth it. I think ANY exercise is worth it, but I'm just going to wait out this crappy weather. I started my journey last year on January 10th and I just made food alterations. Some weight fell off, but then I plateaued and everyone here said I needed to add some sort of exercise. I had never really formally exercised in my life, so I started walking after work for 2 miles. The weight started to drop again but I got bored and it plateaued again. After reading about hollybelle riding bikes, I thought I would like that because it wouldn't feel like exercise but could be beneficial. I bought my bike in February and really only missed a handful of riding days due to weather. So long story short, this is my first January, and it just may be a little set back but watch out cause I am geared up to go again!!

Yeah ! I lost 4 pounds.

1slice of liver w/onions, 2very sm. Potatoes, 1/3c beans.

2c soup.

2oranges, 1apple, 1yogurt, 1grapefruit a handful of almonds.

45min. On treadmill.

I want to thank everyone for all of your encouragement, and being with me on this journey. I look forward to reading everyone's post and giving them encouragement too. Let's all keep up the good work, and take good care of ourselves.

4 lbs! Congrats! That's fabulous! Keep up great work and I'm sure you'll see even more results soon. I noticed you like soup. I adore soup as it's such a comfort food. What kind do you usually have? Again, great job on the loss! :)

thanks for the soup info. Sounds yummy and filling! I just recently started using black beans in chili and really like it. Other than the tomato juice, I have all ingredients on hand. Have you ever tried freezing the soup? I know I freeze soup and chili frequently and it seems to work well. I just don't know if rice freezes ok but I know all the other ingredients do. ie- when I make chicken stock/chicken soup, I don't add the noodles if I'm going to freeze it -- just the broth and veggies and then cook and add noodles prior to serving.

Oatmeal with apple,raisins and cranberrys.

McDonald's Bacon ranch salad.(dropped the bomb on them), (used the card) Wifey ate the tomatoes.

2c. Soup, 1 grilled cheese sandwich.

1banana, 1yogurt, 1orange, 1grapefruit, Sm. Bag of walnuts.

Drank all my H2O.

Used the free meal card on the salad. Wifey usually works on Saturday, so I'm figuring on using there when she gets off every week.

Looking forward to weighing in tomorrow morning, so I gotta be good today. I think weighing in on Monday morning keeps me accountable through the weekend.

Congrats on your Ravens even though I was pulling for Denver! I have family up there and the Mannings are from New Orleans, so when the Saints get knocked out, then we pull for Denver and Chicago. Drank over 100oz. Water.

Walked 25min. Treadmill, 20min. Warehouse.

Wifey works at Mcd's. Yesterday she gave me a card that was good for 1 value meal, every week, for a year...a year ! She gets her meals free. I already get anything I order for 1/2 price. I could possibly use it for a salad. Maybe my daughter can use it. This thing is like a nuclear bomb in my pocket. It could go off at at anytime and cause wide spread devistation. I'll keep you all posted.

I think you'll use self-restraint with the McD's card. You've lost 7 lbs and that is significant. Pick up a 5 lb bag of sugar and a 2 lb can of lard and walk around the house with them for a few minutes. After a while, they get heavy. Well...that's how much weight you're NOT carrying around with you anymore (thanks to your staying on track!)

The "soup" you see every day on my diet diary is one I make ahead of time at the 1st of the week. It's something that kind of fills me up in the morning so I can get closer to lunch without becoming too hungry. Also, I go to it when I get the hungries. It has good stuff in it so it won't hurt me TOO bad. Anyway, its one of the "tools" in my toolbox to get me back to healthy again. Just thought I'd tell you guys. Have a healthy day .

1c. Long grain rice. 1/2c. Pinhead (steel cut) oats. 1Lb. Chopped turkey. 1can tomato juice. 1can diced tomatoes. 1can green beans. 1 can black beans. Cook the rice and oats together. Drain and add the canned stuff. It makes a lot so you skinny girls might want to adjust the amounts.

Your soup sounds really good..I make all my meals for the week on Monday, that way I don;t have to deal with what to cook on a daily basis..It certainly makes life alot easier when you are on the go all the time.Hope you had a good day at work :)

I make soup a lot, too. I love vegetable soup and make it with ground turkey instead of beef, etc. I fills me up and is healthy.
