Glad to see you are doing well. I love just drinking and relaxing too....it seems to be a must these days on weekend days at least part of the day now! I am not interested in rushing around all day on weekends in wintertime!

Good afternoon

Great day.

We won the tournament we are the gold medal champions.  The last game was a hard one two overtime periods and finally the goal.... great stuff.  I am now home just trying to warm up from the 3 days spent sitting on cold seats and hopefully I will get my voice back from all the screaming... lol

Food was a little off but not crazy off I went out twice for breakfast lunch and then home very good and early to bed in the past few days I am dead tired and hoping to sleep in tomorrow morning and looking forward to having a day of not having to wear a bra..... lol

That is about it for me and the events around my life right now.  Will post more tomorow.  Have a great evening guys.

Good morning

Yesterday was a great day.

Attended grandson's hockey game and we won 7 to 0.  My grandson scored 4 goals and was named MVP for the game.  Up early and getting ready to head back out to the arena his next game actually two games today.  I think it will take me a week to warm up again it is cool in these arenas.

So much for that not much to report on my food all is good and with all this going on there is not much access to food which is good.  I do bring my little cooler/lunch/meal bag so if I do get hungry I am not running to the different outlets provided to feed myself.  Staying healthy and doing my activites and outings is getting easier as long as I plan a little bit ahead.

Planning is 90% of it. I find that when things are planned out, I do much better. I say this going into a Christmas party in about an hour with no plan - uh-oh!

Good afternoon

Did my grocery shopping today and I have everything I need now for at least two weeks so no more grocery shopping til after xmas.

Going to my grandson's tournament this weekend it finishes on Sunday Morning and then I am heading back out to the cottage til Thursday again.  Hope you guys enjoyed the pictures I posted. 

My fridge is so full I have to move things around everytime I want something out of it.

Good afternoon

I am back from the cottage it was absolutely wonderful perfect cottage weather, great walks and the trees where all covered with snow a real perfect winter picture.


I figured out how to download my pictures from my phone and these are pictures of the cottage you asked about J. 




Enough with pictures.  We had a great time and did a lot of cooking but good simple meals and healthy.  I sure got a lot of walking exercise in the bush not easy walking but fun as long as you are properly dressed for it. 

Today is just getting my stuff put away and checking my cupboard but really not much missing in the house for cooking for the next week and we are getting close to xmas so I will be more concentrating on that then anything else.

Good to be back.

Good morning

All is good here nothing to complain about.

My granddaughter's competition on the weekend was so cute to see them all dressed up and make up.  They did not win but came in 5th out of 9 groups in her category.

I will not be posting this week I am going up to the cottage for the week.  It will definitely be a winter wonderland since we are getting snow right and they are calling for more snow later this week.

Just wondering...isn't going to the cottage for a week in the snow extra annoying? or is it the same as where you are anyways? What are the perks to going there now?

Also, congrats to your granddaughter! That is still so amazing to learn the cheer and get dressed up and put on a fun routine! Congrats!

Good morning

Yesterday was a great day accomplished everything on my list.  Today is the lasagna cooking day will make two of those for the freezer... I am definitely in the cooking mode.

I went to my grandson's hockey game and yes we won 6 to 1.  This morning my daugher in law texted me that they had made the news reporting on the local news.  They said that the voyageurs team name were the undefited Atome B team in all of Quebec and that they were the ones that have been selected to go to Lake Placid in Feb to represent Canada in the International games for the Atomes.... wow my grandson was over the moon when he heared that on live broadcast.... lol. 

My plan for today is on track food will be TO BE DETERMINED but probably some vegetables with some protein.

It’s so great to have food around and be prepared for company as well as your own food plans for yourself. Also, I know what you mean by being in the cooking mode. I love it when I’m in my “creative element” with cooking. Usually it’s when I have more free time. My next experiment is really not so difficult AT ALL. I want to cook sugar free jello using ½ hot water and instead of cold water, I’m going to use cold herbal teas!!!!!!!! I want to see how this affects the jello flavor, hopefully in a good way. Because I’m getting really bored of SF Jello which is why I haven’t made it recently….

Wow talk about a great team! How cool is that for your grandson to be a key player for such a successful team!? Wonderful! Do you plan to travel with the family to watch him play in Lake Placid! Are you going to come with them to New York!? I’d be over the moon, too. Sounds like he has an awesome fitness career ahead of him while he’s in school at least!

I’m going out to dinner tonight, hopefully to Indian (depends on which coworkers can make it) and the menu seems to be more healthy than usual with lots of even veggies on skewers. I hope that the restaurant has what the internet claims it has – not sure because I cannot find the exact menu – but…hopefully tons of veggies are there so I can eat & be full tonight on less calories than most other items on any menu offer :-D Like you say, veggies & protein are the way to go – especially when eating out.

Silly Puddy actually matching my personality.... lol No I will not be going to Lake Placid with them because I will already be down South but following their tournament they are coming down to vacation with me for one week so I will get all the highlights and my son is going to video some and parts of the games for me to see. Good morning

Yesterday was a wonderful day.  Enjoy my day out with my friend and lunch.  This one might just be a keeper..... lol 

My cabbage rolls are done well they are in the pan in the oven now and will cook for several hours.  I have left over cabbage so I will turn it into a home made soup.  Kill two birds with one stone since I am in the cooking mode.  Tomorrow I would love to do two lasagnas and freeze them always good to have things in the freezer because people tend to drop by and then I usually keep them for dinner any excuse to eat with somebody instead of alone...

I will test the cabbage rolls for dinner tonight and let you know how they turned out.

Hockey night tonight my grandson is playing again sure hope they keep their winning run 11 games and they won them all they are in first place.

My grand daughter is 8 and she just started the cheer leading classes and that is the event I am going to on the weekend in Montreal.  She will be at the top of the piramid of course she is so tiny and light and I guess that was the reason she is at the top for them to flight her up there is easier then any others in the class.... lol

Good idea to turn extra cabbage into soup. Another option is to sautee or stir-fry it. GREAT idea to freeze the lasagna. It’s amazing to me how fresh cooked food freezes so well for so long & tastes great when reheated. Your guests will appreciate your home cooking for sure.

Your grandson got lucky I guess to play on the winning team. Always good to experience being on the winning end and experience those feelings of success and achievement when you win. Perhaps there’s more talent on his team than the other. Also maybe it’s because of the coach. Perhaps there’s better coaching going on at your grandson’s team. Could be a ton of reasons why his team wins the most! That’s awesome. I’m guessing in particular it could have to do with each team member’s level of talent…

Oh ! I had thought your granddaughter was older like a teenager lol. Lol…once again she’s lucky to get that top spot on the pyramid! If I were a young cheerleader I would also prob be at the top because I was always thin and petite as a child up until I was 17. Then gained a bit of weight senior year high school thru turning 20 in college. Yes, the pyramid is certainly based mainly on weight for where you are located.. that’s fun and cool – I hope she is lively & excited while performing and flying up since she’ll have that prime spot!

Good morning

Yesterday was a wonderful day got lots done and accomplished my to do list.

Today brunch with a friend and I do have to do my darn cabbage rolls before I loose that cabbage.  It might just be a cooking day but it all depends on my lunch friend if we happen to return to my place to continue our get together that happens sometimes and then well the cooking is going to have to wait.  I rather have company when I can then not.

I am looking forward also to my weekend my grand daughter has a cheer leading competition in Montreal and we have to leave around 6 a.m.  That will be an early rise for me because I am getting in with them and I have to get myself to their place not far but still probably up by 4:30 to accomplish that and get ready.

You could always make your own sauerkraut or kimchi with it. Sauerkraut is super easy... Just make sure it is all covered with the solution or you get mold and bacteria.

Not really a fan of sauerkraut if nothing else I would make a soup. I will be making my rolls tomorrow too late today to start now.

Good to hear you got all that done yesterday. Glad to hear you are not an “old school” bank goer. No reason to wait till going to the bank to take out money. Yep, you are no old lady. Lol…I am so bad.

Yes, I have heard of stuffed cabbage. So tasty. One day I will have to make them when I get more of a chance….they can be even stuffed with veggies!!!!!!!!!! Like a veggie mix of sautéed veggies in the cabbage leaves! Now THAT would be AWESOME!

Yep me too, I’d totally opt for socializing when getting the chance over more alone time if I were in your boat. The cooking can wait.

You haven’t mentioned your granddaughter and the cheerleading comp sounds interesting! I would even love to attend something like that. I love watching dance, cheers, performances. And kids always have so much energy. Please post a pic! How old is she?

Oh, and thanks for the support for my days off. I am really feeling the most energized I have in several years. Still of course very tired at times, but, I am starting to have more even energy lately. Less crazy tired by Friday. Trying to not go into the weekend exhausted which is not a nice life balance!

And really looking forward to my friend’s parties & get togethers! Nice to live it up with nice people, really nice people.

Had a great time last night.

Today I have a lot of errands bank and groceries.

That is as exciting as my day is going to get today plus maybe some stuff done at home.  All is good nothing to complain about.

Wednesday going out with a friend for lunch so I have to behave til then.

Food for today to be determined nothing out of the ordinary.

I am picking up some cabbage today so I hope to do my cabbage rolls this week and freeze portions and bring some to the cottage when I go back.  It is always great to have cooked stuff done when I go there.

Good Afternoon Effy-F! Glad to hear that your dinner was good..

Yep, I guess in order to get your groceries you might need some cash? I hardly ever go to the bank anymore. I tend to use my debit card in both supermarkets and drug stores & when I pay, I will get cash back when I need it. Only time I go to the bank is when it’s on the way & usually for the ATM to take out cash when I don’t feel like shopping in order to get some money. There’s a bank on my way to the gym – which is nice & convenient. But usually for me, it’s cash back using my debit card at local stores. Convenience is everything for me! (And many others too of course I’m not the only one!…)

What kind of food are you going out for tomorrow? I have come to love lunches out. Still early in the day, I can order lots of veggies, and I try to eat lighter in the morning so I can have more at lunchtime. I always prefer a lunch to late dinner (after I’ve eaten a lot & have less calories to spare!) Cabbage rolls sound awesome. Is it in fact cabbage in dough? That would be a cool mix….a little bread with a lotta cabbage….yum! Would taste good with a little protein too…!

In general, I have found having extra food home has helped me eat better. Extra veggies and proteins this week has helped me reach for more health….and less sugars like my fave convenient low cal ice creams and protein puddings last night…but I still love them dearly. It’s pretty funny how I am so not sick of the things I’ve been eating for months now! I guess the variety of flavors helps! But I have gotten a little sick of Sugar Free Jello……

I only went to the bank because I had to get money order to send to my american rental unit it was time to pay up. I us my debit card also never have money on me. I went shopping for veggies today the fridge was getting pretty empty. Cabbage rolls is no bread at all it is meat wrapped in cabbage leaves and cooked in the oven with tomatoe sauce. Lunch tomorrow will be a salad bar for me will not use the prepared salads but make my own with lettuce and veggies safer that way. Have you started talking to your old guy friend again J? Is he back in the picture? Have a great evening.
