Hey, another visit from the Whoosh Fairy! I'm just melting away, LOL. I wish it would stay this easy. But I know better. Yesterday was my first really good day---23 points and 45 minutes of exercise. And, of course, lots of water. Today, another good one, so far. I've had 17 points and, ta-da, 82 minutes of work at the gym!! I did 2 miles on the track and the rest was weight lifting. I'm not sure I will ever do that much again though. I'm beat! I just layed down for an hour but never fell asleep so I got back up again and here I am. I'm watching Oprah but I'm going to go read some entries when I finish this. I read most of them yesterday but didn't leave any comments, just nothing to say. But I'm with you all and cheering you on, okay? Tomorrow is bowling in the morning and I'll try to do some on the bike too. I hope you have a great Thursday. Ta-ta!

GREAT JOB! You've been doing so well! Congrats on the loss!!! Your workout sounded intense!!

legcramps on 08/12/2004:
Great job, congrats on the loss! You left me a comment about what mudjarrah was and how I made my quesadillas. Mudjarrah is a mixture of lentils, rice and onions. It's awesome! I use brown rice. It almost tastes like potato, onions and noodles mixed together? Ever had that? I think it's my absolute favorite so far, I love it so much! I made bean quesadillas, not chicken. I can give you the recipe if you want it, just let me know. They're very good as well. I was supposed to make them with hot peppers, but I forgot to add any in, so the mixture was very mild, but still good.

Well, keep up the great work girl! Later!

TheMother on 08/12/2004:
It seems like you are getting back in the groove. Good for you! You're doing great on the exercise front (that's one area I need improvement in). Keep up the good work!

Ooh, it's so much fun to make a good change in the weight on here!! And going dowwwwwn! Slowly but surely. I think I have a handle on it now as I'm having an "almost" perfect day today. I've done a total of 45 minutes on the recumbant bike (15 minutes at a time for 3 times over the day) and I've had 20 points so far. Still need dinner but I'm not very hungry today so will eat light. And I let the couple slices of leftover pizza alone and DH ate it so it's all gone. Whew!

Okay, plan for tomorrow is---the gym sometime in the morning and eating right. I'm still not getting in enough veggies but I'm trying. And I still haven't taken the time to catch up with you all here. I was watching The Blue Collar Comedy Tour last night, part of it anyway. Pretty funny stuff. And I watched Dog Eat Dog and Celebrity Blackjack. So that was pretty much my evening. Oh, and I did another 15 minutes on the bike to total 30 minutes of bike added on to the 60 minutes at the gym. No wonder the weight went down a little.

Okay, I may get back here later, I don't know. I desperately need a shower or it will be pretty bad at the gym tomorrow, heh. I'm watching Dog Eat Dog now though so it will have to wait. I hope you're all doing great. Stay strong, we can do this! And thanks for the comment, MichelleP. I love me some comments here.

Runner on 08/10/2004:
I admire you for letting DH eat all the pizza! That's a great strategy, isn't it? I usually feed my hubby all the leftovers before I have a chance to eat them, too! You're doing well! Keep up the good work!

Whoops! That's what eating pizza will do to your weight. Of course, I had already eaten lunch yesterday when the DH brought home pizza from Costco. But I just had to be a pig and eat 2 slices anyway. And no exercise yesterday either. I vegged all day in front of the TV watching the Lifetime channel movies. But I'm back at it today. Went to the gym this morning after stopping in at the doctor's (my lipids are great, whatever they are, my blood sugar thingy test is not good though, so gave me some samples of something else to try, and my urine was really good, I'm sure you all want to know) She did an EKG because I've been so tired and out of breath lately and I had a bad episode of what I thought was heartburn the other night and, ladies, ya know you have to watch out for all those symptoms of heart attack that are not at all like the men get. But, thank goodness, it came out just fine, my heart is doing great. Sometimes I feel like such a hypochondriac when I go in with all my complaints but the doc says better safe than sorry. The out-of-breath and dizziness when I stand up could just be connected to the high blood sugar. We'll see.

Anyways....I did go to the gym afterward, got there at almost 9:30 and worked for an hour. I increased some of the weight exercises and only did 1 1/2 miles on the track. 2 of the machines I use were not working *sigh* so I had to forego those. I guess I could have used the Nautilus machines that do the same thing but I didn't. Next time. I'm really working on the abs, they are my worst part. I hate looking and feeling pregnant. Oh, and I had more of the pizza today, darn leftovers. I regretted it afterward, it wasn't even that good. Live and learn, I guess. Otherwise I'm doing really well today. Just finished doing 15 minutes on the bike and may do more later watching TV.

Okay, I haven't been keeping up with how you are all doing so I plan to catch up later tonight. Have a great day tomorrow.

MichelleP on 08/09/2004:

Dang Costco pizza those things are to good to pass by... yep been there too!

I think it is wonderful that your heart is doing good, and it is important to take care of yourself, and let them know when things come up! The blood sugar is serious, please becareful. I had a minor accident a few weeks ago, because my blood sugar was through the roof... it was 350 when they took it at the accident. I passed out after someone hit me, and then I hit a pole. I have made the doctor test it and retest it each time I go since. I will keep you in my thoughts!

Take care and have a wonderful week!

Well, looks like the whoosh fairy visited me last night! I love it! And today is good so far. I got up at 7 and did 40 minutes on the treadmill. I'm just now starting to feel human again after my shower. I'll tell ya, that 40 minutes just did me in! By the time I'd gotten to 20 minutes it was harder to breathe. But I just kept pushing myself and finished it. I don't know, maybe I'll just do 30 minutes tomorrow. After I'd finished I had to rest in front of a fan for about half an hour and then had breakfast. Then my shower. Whoo, I'm beat! I guess it will just take some time to get my stamina back. Now I have to stay within my points today, of course. The weekends are so hard! I did well yesterday and didn't eat anything after 7pm. My stomach actually growled before I had my breakfast this morning! I'm sure I'll be taking a nap pretty soon too. Did I mention that I'm exhausted?!

Okay, I'll get caught up with you all later. As of last night, it looks like everyone is doing well. Have a great Saturday!

Can you believe---weight still the same!! Of course, I haven't really been eating as well as I should yet. But, guess what!! I did win the battle with my "bad side" this morning and went to the gym to work out for a total of 65 minutes straight!! Yay, me! I'll tell you, it was a real struggle. My bad side was saying, "oh, heck, skip it today and just lay around and eat" and at one time, I had actually decided to listen and do just that. I felt like !@#$%. But something in me got me up and ready to go and I did have to stop at WalMart for a couple of things so I had to go out anyway, ya know? And I did great at the workout. 2 miles on the track and lots of the Life Circuit machines as I did on Wednesday, only this time I did twice as much on the ab machine. At least when the fat comes off, I want to have some nice muscle under there. And, of course, I really sweat again. Heck, I was sweating after doing just 2 laps on the track to warm up. Must be the air in there or something, heh. So I felt really great after that and I drove home, ate lunch and took a nap, haha! It totally kicked my butt! And I haven't really done anything else for the rest of the day. Cept watch TV, ya know, Oprah, the news and my new favorite show Dog Eat Dog on the game show channel.

Okay, that's my day. Going to go check up on y'all now. I guess since I do my entry so late in the day, no one is here to comment. Have'ta start getting in here early in the morning. Or maybe y'all just don't like me, waaaah! Whatever! I'm here anyway. Tomorrow the plan is to get up and get at least a 40 minute walk in on the treadmill. Oh, I almost forgot, today is the first day I actually did pretty well with the food part. I figure I had about 28 to 30 points maybe. Not great, but better than I have been. Okay, hang in there and have a great weekend. Ta-ta!

Weight the same this morning. Ho hum! Guess I'm not doing so well at this. The food part is still very hard for me. I seem to zone out and zombily (?) head for the kitchen too many times a day. No sugary cookies or candy though or fast food either, at least not since Monday. I'm trying to keep my blood sugar down but even with the meds, it's still too high. Seeing the doc on Monday. Again. Maybe the blood sugar thing is what is keeping me eating so much and craving bad things. This just isn't like the normal me. But really, I'm not fighting it very well either. Sooooo....

No exercise today except 3 games of bowling this morning. Sis, BIL, DH and I get breakfast and 3 games of bowling for only $4.75 each. Can't beat that. And really good french toast too. And, of course, the bowling is fun.

So, that's my Thursday this week. Not much going on. Just fighting fatigue and the food monster. Keep up the good work, people. See ya's tomorrow.

geevee on 08/06/2004:
In one month my blood sugar went from around 150 to 100! It's a very effective diet for this condition. There are so few foods to avoid that you don't feel as if it's a hardship to follow it. It sure beats having to test your sugar every day and take insulin! I used to watch my mother do that and thought it would be awful having to do the same. You can check out Sugar Busters' on the web too. You have nothing to lose by trying it. Good luck!

What a great day, so far!! I went to the gym (Bally's) this morning. (I'm one of the lucky ones that got in on a life-time membership way back in the dark ages, heh) I did 2 miles on the track and 8 of the Life Circuit machines. Only did 2 sets of 12 on the machines since it was the first time in awhile. Boy, did I sweat!! My hair is long enough to cover the back of my neck but not long enough to put up somehow so it made me very hot. I'll have to figure out something to do with it and still look decent. I didn't get there until about 11:00am since I had to pick up a few things at the grocery on the way. This must be a good time to go, it wasn't very crowded at all. So I had some good exerise today. It took me over an hour. I did an 18 minute mile walking on the track both miles. So the plan is to do this on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Last night I also rode my recumbant bike for 20 minutes. Food today has gone pretty well. I'm not really counting points, although when you're in the habit, you kind of do it anyway. So I figure about 18 points so far and still have dinner left to eat. Also not eating after 7pm. And getting in lots and lots of water. That part is easy for me.

Okay, I hope you're all doing well. I did read some entries yesterday and commented some. You all inspire me so much. But where are Biscottibody and Stellastar? I'm glad to see Michelle P. back and I wish her the best when she has her surgery (OUCH!) So I haven't checked here yet to see who is missing today and I guess I'll go do that now. Take care and stay strong!

Still struggling here. But I think today is going to be a good day. Hah, it's not even noon yet here! I did get up early and walked for 40 minutes on the treadmill so that's a start. I hope you're all doing great. Take care and see ya tomorrow.

Good job on getting that early morning walk in. It's good to get you heart rate up a little at the beginning of the day. Have a good one!

Hi, gang! I just finished reading all the entries that you all put up today. I didn't comment on any though, just wanted you all to know I was there. You're all amazing!! Keep up the great work. You all make me want to work harder at this and that's just what I need. Not doing so well today, no exercise at all and too much of those bad foods. Oh, but those pancakes were yummy this morning! Tomorrow is a new beginning all over again. Getting up early and getting on that treadmill! And I'm going to try to keep busier during the day too. I just haven't had the energy lately, I think it's the new diabetes meds. And they're not doing me that much good either. I'll be seeing the doc a week from Monday to talk about it. And I think these meds are making me want to eat more too. Gotta blame it on something, right? It sure couldn't just be me, could it? Okay, I'll report in tomorrow. Nighty night!

So down another 2 pounds today. Must be water weight though. Oh, well, I'll take it. Hope it keeps going. I didn't exercise today unless you count 2 games of bowling. Then we ate at Sweet Tomatoes and I didn't do too badly but not too good either. So I only ate one tostada and a granny smith apple for dinner. And almost time for bed so no more food today for me. I think tomorrow we are going out for breakfast just one more time for those great buttermilk pancakes at the Village Inn that we just luuurve. Gotta stop doing that though or I'll be right back where I was a few days ago. Guess I just won't eat much for the rest of the day. Although, I did want to go for Mexican at El Mezon de Cobre, a new one we discovered. Mmmmmm, soo good! So we'll see what happens. I know, this just doesn't sound like a "diet" diary but I'm trying to cut down gradually, heh. So good night and I'll probably be back tomorrow to report in. Ta-ta!

MichelleP on 07/29/2004:

Way to go on your 2 pound loss!!!! I think bowling is exercise.

Have a great Friday!
