Hey, everybody, how's it going? Not too good here. I was really bad yesterday so now I'm kicking myself all over the place today. I started out good, as I said yesterday, but last night I just gave in to that little voice that said, "Awe, go ahead, you deserve it, it won't hurt." I won't go into details, I just ate & ate.

So today WILL be better! I got up, did my 3.5 miles on the treadmill, my crunches & free weights. The washing machine is going, the floor is swept & I've got the whole day ahead of me. It's already 11:30am here, the sun is shining, going up to 100 degrees today & I feel better. Got on here a little later today than usual, had trouble with my internet service, so I had to make a call to tech support. Boy, those guys are great at talking me through it, I'm such a computer idiot! But now things are running just fine, thank goodness. If anything serious went wrong with my puter, I don't know what I'd do. I always relied on my computer nerd son to help me with problems & he set up my puter to begin with, so there's so much I don't know about it. I mean, what's installed & so forth. He's in Cincinnati & I'm in Tucson now so it's hard to get him to help me. Anyway, I just hope it lasts forever, hehe.

Okay, going to go read how you all are doing now. Have a great day. Thanks for listening.

I'm having the same troubles with a little cheating.. so far it hasn't hurt anything but you know how easy it is to make it a habit!

You were so smart to call someone.. they really can be helpful and nice! I have the same problem!

Soonie, are you there drinking???? You sound so DIFFERENT! I hope this means you are just one happy dieter :) Carry on...... S.

I got your message about the size. I'm not offended, in fact I've been really curious about body types for about a month. My hips are 40 inches and my waist is 30 inches. I guess I'm not quite sure where the largest amount of fat is stored on me, maybe my thighs. The only place that I have trouble in a size 12 is the tops, my bra size is 36D, which is a bit too large for many 12's. I have also built a fair amount of muscle, so maybe a good deal of my weight is lean muscle mass - one can only hope!!!

Weight: 151.5

Good morning, everyone! It's cloudy here again though the sun keeps trying to peek out, only a high of 94 today, they say. I got up & put seed & bread out for the birds, filled the bird baths. Then I got on the treadmill & did 3.5 miles. While walking I can look out & watch the birdies & bunnies in the front yard. Did I tell ya, our front yard looks just like a desert, dirt & cactus with a few trees. I love it though, so different from our old house in Ohio.

Hubby went fishing with the BIL this morning, usually my opportunity to sneak over to McD's for my breakfast. But I held firm this morning, I can't afford to eat that junk right now, I've just got to get some more of this weight off. Weigh-in at WW in 2 weeks, I was planning to be down to 145 by now so I wouldn't have to worry about holding at my goal of 150 when they weigh me. Oh, well, maybe next month. At least I should be around the 150 mark this time. And I do still have that 2 weeks so maybe I could get close to the 145 mark. I'm feeling really hungry today though, gotta fight it. I think I'm going to treat myself to Subway for lunch though & maybe a fruizle.

Hey, did you notice? I walked 7 days in a row! Haven't done that for a long time! Boy, I sure need to keep it up though. Like I said, gotta get more of this weight off----FOR GOOD! Yesterday we got out there at 5:30am to walk. It was nice & cool & the sun was just coming up. I like walking outside with hubby more than on the treadmill.

Well, you all have a great day today. Going to go read me some journals now, look out! Thanks for listening.

Maria7 on 07/18/2001:
Hey, that is cool that you can see the birds and the bunnies while you are walking on the treadmill. Your front yard sounds like it is easy to maintain...no mowing grass??? I miss walking outside with my Hubby like we used to do...since he is having the rest of this week off, maybe we will get to do some walking together. I hope you get down to your 150 goal by your WW weigh-in...it seems there are a lot of us at this time that are having quite a time not giving in to our appetites...including me! You are not alone! Well, take care and I enjoyed reading your entry! Love, Maria :)

Hey, everyone! Are you all having a good Monday? So far, I'm doing okay. It's 3:15pm here, sunny & hot, hot, hot! I'd be out in the pool, but, while I'm on here, I'm also copying my sister's vacation video for her on the VCR's so I have to go in to change the tapes every half hour. Anyways, I didn't make an entry yesterday since I was really busy with company, my family. We grilled hamburgers on the BBQ & I did okay with my eating. Hubby & I also walked for 3.5 miles yesterday morning & then again this morning. I also did my crunches & free weights this morning. After breakfast, I went out to Target & Wal-Mart so a little more walking. I'm hoping I'll see another drop in the weight again tomorrow, I'm doing really good today.

Okay, I hope you're all doing really good too. Gonna go check up on ya's now. I have some catching up to do. Thanks for listening.

Weight: 154.0

Good morning, friends! Well, it's sunny here today so far, 100 degrees already, only 10:15am. I'm going to get out in the pool for sure today, haha.

Okay, my weight bounced back up for some reason but I'm not worried, I've been good. Maybe I underestimated the points in the cobb salad I had yesterday at TGI Friday's. I was trying to be good, no black olives, blue cheese or avacado, & I got a box & put half of it away for later since we ate pretty early for dinner, about 4:30. Then about 6:30 I ate the rest of it. And there were 2 bread sticks with it. Oh, well, I'm going to be extra good today.

We got up at 6am, the hubster & I, & took a walk for an hour, about 3.25 miles, the same route as yesterday. My pedometer had said 2.75 miles yesterday but when my hubby drove the car the same route, it said it was 3.25 miles. So I increased the stride measurement on the pedometer but it said 3.07 miles this morning so I need to increase the stride measurement on it one more time. Then I think it should be pretty accurate.

After we got home I vacuumed the whole house so that was a little more exercise. I think I'm just going to take it a little easy for the rest of the day, hang out around the pool some too. I'll probably do a little pool exercise though too. Might as well while I'm out there.

So I'm not worried about the little gain, sometimes that's how it is when you weigh every day. And I did have a good workout with the free-weights yesterday so maybe my muscles are holding onto the water. I'll tell myself anything, haha.

Hope you're all having a good Saturday. Take care. Thanks for listening.

Maria7 on 07/14/2001:
You're not alone...I did 700 cals yesterday and am up. Enjoy your pool...we don't have one, but if we did, I would surely be either in it are laying out by it. Have a great day! Love, Maria :) hugs!

Maria7 on 07/14/2001:
I have a pedometer, too and quit using mine because of inaccuracies. It either said more or less and it was not right. I have a gauge on the treadmill that I think may be a little off because when I walk or jog on it, I am on an uphill incline. Sounds lik eyou are doing fantastic with your workouts, though!

Weight: 152.5

Happy Friday the 13th, everyone! My weight is still the same this morning. But that's okay, I had a really good day yesterday & since I will have another one today, I'll see a drop tomorrow, right? RIGHT!!

It's cloudy again here today but getting up to 100 degrees this afternoon. The humidity here lately has been about 25%. I know that doesn't seem like much to most of you but here it is usually less that 10% & with the heat it is kinda muggy. But this is the monsoon season we have here every summer in Tucson. Chance of storms again today too.

Hubby & I went for a nice walk this morning. My pedometer said 2.75 miles. We walked for an hour so the pedometer may be a little off. I'm going to check the route in my car to see just how far we did walk. Of course, we stopped a few times to watch some big birds we thought may be hawks or eagles, I don't know. And we saw a coyote from afar so we stopped to see what he would do but he just went off walking into the cactus along the road. It's nice to walk around here because it's mostly dirt roads, no concrete, except our street, the only one around here that is paved. After we got back, I did my crunches & free-weights. So that's 5 days of walking so far this week & 3 days of the crunches & free-weights. Yippee!!

Well, Mom & my uncle may be over today so he can see our new house. I had misunderstood about his surgery--he didn't have the gastric bypass, he just had part of his stomach removed, I don't know why exactly & he told the doctors he didn't want to know exactly what was wrong himself. Go figure! So his stomach is very small & he did keep off the weight he had lost after he'd had it done.

Anyways, I hope you're all having a great day, watch out for those ladders & black cats. I wish Krispy & Miss Piggy & Jenny would come back. Hey, if you're out there reading this, you three, come back! I miss you! So you all take care today. Thanks for listening.

Soonie, I haven't been "reading" you as regularly lately and today I just got up on days worth. Gosh! You sound great! It just is so evident that something within you (physical or emotional health) is improved. This friend is SO glad for you:) Walks, and gyms and a gal with hope! That's you now! I came over to your site here really, to thank you for your kind comments to me lately. Thank you :) I just adore your thoughtfulness. How lucky I am. Be careful and don't blow away in the monsoons! WOW! Do I ever remember the drama of those years I dealt with that! :) Love, Stella

Weight: 152.5

Happy Thursday, friends! I'm feeling good & going strong, yippee! Got rid of those 2# of water weight. Now I just have to keep it going, haha. It's 10:15am & 90 degrees with a partly cloudy sky here in Tucson. So far I have walked 3.5 miles on the treadmill in one hour & had a nice, diet-friendly breakfast-- a cup of cantelope, a cup of strawberries & 2 pieces of toast with green tea--4 points altogether. That should hold me for awhile, hehe.

Yesterday, after my usual workout, I went shopping, walked for about 2 hours. I stopped in at Bally's to renew my membership, I'm a life-time member cause I joined back in the stone age when it was European Health Spa & they had a life-time membership then, only cost me a thousand dollars then. Since I moved here I needed to pay $10 to get me a new card for this state. I don't know how much I will be using it, it's about a 30 minute drive from my house, & since I have a treadmill & free-weights at home, I get a pretty good workout here. Maybe when I get bored with what I'm doing now, I can go there for a little change of pace. Anyway, a nice, young, cute guy showed around the club so I'd know where everything is, also got a list of the workout classes available.

So today we have to go to the airport to pick up my uncle from Michigan. He had the gastric bypass done years ago & I haven't seen him for a couple of years. It will be interesting to see if he kept the weight off. He had been about 400# before he had the surgery & had lost about 150#. Other than that, I don't have much planned for today. I'd like to get out in the pool this afternoon if it doesn't rain again. Although we'll probably be visiting with my uncle at my Mom's house for awhile.

I'm going to be really good today, I WILL! I CAN DO IT! I want to have 2 good days in a row, haven't done that for quite awhile. And then another good day, and another good day....... I'm still following WW but just not writing down the food & points, keeping a running tally in my head. There's plenty of room there, haha.

Gonna go check up on you guys now, hope you're all doing good. Ta-ta. Thanks for listening.

kanga on 07/12/2001:
I hope your uncle is keeping the weight off. I had a gastric by-pass myself and kept off down to 268 until I had my children (back to back) and now it is the dickens to lose. You sound like you are really doing great! Keep up the good work!

Maria7 on 07/12/2001:
Well....I'll sure say...you are getting your exercise in and plenty of it!!!! Sounds like you are enjoying the pool, too. Have a fantastic day! Enjoy your visit with your Mom and your uncle! Love, Maria :)

Weight: 154.5

Whoa! That weight just keeps going up & up, darnit! Well, there's certainly no mystery why. I didn't do so well yesterday. I had a big ole cheese burger from the BBQ for dinner & from there I just grazed until about 7pm. Without my usual exercise yesterday it was inevitable to see another gain. I promise to do better today!

So far the usual exercise, walked 3 miles on the treadmill, 100 crunches plus some bend-over exercises I added for the abs, & free-weights for about half an hour. I've already had 48 oz of water & it's only 10:30am here. I'd better keep this up everyday (except the free weights, only every other day for them) or I won't be able to send a new pic to Levi of me in my bikini next summer, hahaha!

So for today, I'm going to the mall to exchange a tank top I had bought (I never try things on at the store) for a LARGER size :( & on to JC Penney for sheets for my hubby's new queen size bed we bought yesterday (yes, we sleep in separate rooms, have for years, but it works for us). Then I'm not sure where I'll go, maybe K-Mart or my favorite, Wal-Mart, maybe both, hehe, you all know how I love to shop. I may check out the sports store to see if they have any Ab-Doers (crunches always hurt my neck, no matter how I do them).

Okay, I'm outta here! Hope you all have a great day, I KNOW I will! Thanks for listening.

pastagal on 07/11/2001:
Hey there,,,,YOU CAN DO IT:}} just take it One day at a time,,,go buy lots of fruit and fill that fridge and that cheeseburger was ok for you to eat,,,well you sound great and i know you will get things under control,,,you just wait:}

I actually bought the Ab-doer at Linens and things! hahaha, thats funny. i paid 89$ for it though because i get a student discount since im a college student. We've had it for a few days now and so far so good. ill let u know in a week or so :)

Weight: 153.0

Well, now the weight listed here is the same as my scale said this morning :-( I don't know why it went up again, I had a good day yesterday, but that's how scales are, huh? So I didn't walk on the treadmill this morning, my heel was hurting from yesterday. I don't know, the shoes I wore kinda rubbed differently yesterday. I wore them twice before & had no trouble. So none of my walking shoes were comfortable this morning. We went to IHOP for breakfast instead, hehe. This had nothing to do with the not walking, I just felt like going out with my hubster. I didn't eat too badly & then we went shopping, did a lot of walking around the stores, so that helps. I haven't had my usual amount of water so far, so I'm working on that now. Soon I'll eat a little lunch then maybe go out in the pool to do some exercise there, weather permitting. The weather here lately is a little iffy, clouds one minute, sun the next. You never know when a storm might blow in. So I'll get back here later to check up on yas. Thanks for listening.

Maria7 on 07/10/2001:
Sorry to hear about your heel....hope it is soon better...sometimes the treadmill gets mine, too. As for your weather, I surely do know what you mean...we had sun this morning and we've just had a rough lightning storm this afternoon. Enjoy your pool! Have a great day! Love, Maria

Good morning, DD buddies! It's only 10:30am here, cloudy again & not real hot yet, about 85. I had a pretty good weekend, how about you? I walked outside with the hubster for 2 miles Saturday morning & 2.5 miles on Sunday morning. It rained a little on us Sunday morning but it was nice & cool for walking.

It wouldn't let me change the weight above but it is down to 152 this morning. My next goal is to leave the 150's behind FOREVER! I'm feeling really good about this, I think I will do it this time. I forced myself up at 6:30 this morning & walked for 2 miles on the treadmill (I know, usually I do 3 but I got a late start since I checked my e-mail first, bad Soonie) then did 100 crunches (my abs will be great when I finally get all this fat off them, hehe) & half an hour of free weights. I like to get it all done before 9am to watch Regis, haha. So I'm off to a pretty good start. I ate a little more than I should have over the weekend so I'm going to do really well today, I WILL!

Okay, going to go check up on all of you now. I didn't get here yesterday so I have a lot of reading to do. Got my water right here with me while I read. I've already had one liter so far this morning. Hope you all have a great day. Thanks for listening.

muggg on 07/09/2001:
Good for you ..another pound off! 100 crunches, huh? I'm back to 50 cruches after being able to do 250 in February!

Weight: 153.0

Good morning, everybody! It's cool & cloudy here in Tucson this morning, a nice change. Boy, I sure didn't want to get up this morning at 6:30. I layed there thinking, "Should I just roll over & go back to sleep or get up & walk?" My body wanted more sleep but my brain said, "GET UP!!". So I did. Walked for 3 miles, did 100 crunches & my free weights. I had a decent breakfast & I'm heading off to Wal-Mart after I finish here.

I forgot to mention here that when I saw the doc a week ago, I found out my cholesterol was down to 128! I couldn't believe it! It's always been over 200 so it was a pleasant surprise. She said I could try going without the Zocor & have it checked in 4 months again. I'm thinking the new thyroid meds I'm taking may have something to do with it. My Ob-Gyn said they may lower my cholesterol & blood pressure & just make me feel better all around. And I do feel pretty good lately. I've also started taking DHEA. Does anyone here know anything about that? And the new hormones I'm taking are working really well--I even like my husband again, hehe.

Well, gotta go. I'll be back later to see how you're all doing. Have a great day! Thanks for listening.

Maria7 on 07/06/2001:
You sound happy today and I am so glad for you. I hope you find something very special on your shopping trip today and let us know what it is if you do....I am so glad to see you feeling better and getting out and about! Love, Maria :) hugs!

Sounds like the pharmacy is working for you. That's great. I wish I could get my butt out of bed early enough in the morning to walk, but I've decided that it's just absolutely impossible. So I have to set aside time in the evening. Have a great weekend, keep up the good work.

stellastarr on 07/07/2001:
Soonie, I am so HAPPY about your cholesterol number! What a thing! You didn't say if you were going to try going without the Zocor... only that the doctor said that you could try... And your thyroid meds are working in lots of ways! All of this is great! My closest friend began a walking plan a few years ago. No diet or any other change except she walked two miles twice a day, six days a week. Within the month she had to go off of her blood pressure medicine, cholesterol lowering med AND her diabetes meds. She had been on the B/P and diabetes meds for FOUR years! She is pretty much an "eater" type of gal but today, years after going off those meds she remains off of them and STILL walks. She remains overweight, but exclaims all of the time how "wonderful" she feels. (It is disgusting, some times!) :) I am happy for you. Especially happy for your husband! :) Stella
