4 good days down now, I'm on a roll. Sunday ended up well, I did really good with the food and water and my 2 miles on the treadmill. I didn't make it here yesterday, I went to the casino. I was there 4 hours and came home $400 richer, heh. I know, I'm going to hell. But I did lots of walking around there. I was so hungry when I left there that I had to stop at BK and get a small burger to tide me over till I got home. I had to drive 30 miles to get home and I knew I couldn't make it without low blood sugar if I didn't eat something. I know, there are better choices but it was quick and easy to eat. Anyway I counted it in my calories and still came out low for the day, I figure under 1100 (290 for a tiny burger from BK!!!). And I made it home okay. It was cloudy, 85 degrees with a light wind blowing so I changed into my shorts and walked outside, up and down my street for 2 miles. (I HATE the treadmill!) Our house is in the middle of the block so if I walk up to one end of the street, it's a quarter mile, then down the other side to the other end, another half mile, then back to my house, another quarter mile, I did that twice, = 2 miles. It was hot but I still liked it better than the treadmill. When I walk on my treadmill, I have my mp3 on with good walk music and the TV tuned to CNN so I can read the crawl and get all the news, but it's still boring! Anyway....Yesterday was a great day but the weightloss is slowing down now, I only lost .2 from yesterday, now down 3.6 from Friday. Next official weigh-in is Friday. We'll see what happens then. Anyway, 4 days of exercise and eating well for me. I'm thinking after this week I will only weigh myself on Fridays, not everyday. That will be hard.

Okay, that's it. Soonie is back on the wagon. Let's hope she stays there for a good long time. You all have a great Tuesday!

Okay, 2 good days down, the rest of my life to go. I did go back and do another mile on my treadmill later in the morning yesterday and I did clean my bedroom and bathroom (it took more than an hour of hard work) and I did do some pool time in the afternoon. I ate pretty well and drank lots of water too. So a good day, in my book. And, ta-da, I'm down 3 pounds already. I know, you all say that's just water weight, but it sure made my morning this morning and I did the whole 2 miles at once on the treadmill. Glad that's done. Now on with the rest of the day. But first---brekky. I'm famished! Weight Control oatmeal this morning. It sure fills you up. So I'll see you tomorrow. Have a great Sunday!

I'm back again. 2 days in a row, what do you know? I've only done one mile on the treadmill this morning so far. I plan to do another mile later this morning. I just couldn't face doing it all at once this morning, the treadmill is soooo boring! Too hot outside to walk now also. Looking forward to the cooler weather. I did pretty well yesterday, didn't count calories or points but ate pretty well, I think, a lot better than I had been. Weekends are hard but I think I can handle it. I'm feeling pretty good in my mind today even though I couldn't sleep last night so I'm tired. I plan to get a little pool time in later today too. Need to clean my bedroom and bathroom also. Okay, time for brekky. See you tomorrow. Have a great day!

Hellewwww, there! Soonie is at it again finally. I just walked 2 miles on my treadmill so I'm off to a pretty good start. And I added the correct current weight here too. Planning a busy day today so that should help too. I need to take these walking shoes back to Kohl's, too cheap and uncomfortable, I've only worn them once, this morning, so they are returnable. Maybe I'll put the money towards buying a better, more expensive pair. You get what you pay for. Temps getting up to 100 again today but it looks like the monsoon weather may be over. Maybe I'll get outside for a walk tomorrow morning but that sun can be wicked hot! We'll see. Okay, have a great day!

Still not back on the wagon. I know some of you think "what is she doing here then??" Just letting you know I'm still here, still trying, haven't dropped off the planet yet. Not gaining, not losing. My back is acting up lately too, the sciatica. Ho hum. That's it for now.

Glad you are still around. Me too! I'm here most days, but don't always post. Hope your back pain resolves itself, and you can get back to climbing back on that wagon. I need to follow my own advice now!

Thank you all for your nice comments. It's all just what I needed to hear. So today is a new day. Can't swear that I will do well but just the best I can for right now. We're going to some friends' house play cards all afternoon. I'll do the best I can with the eating of lunch they prepare for us. Linguinni with clam sauce, I hear. Always the snacks around too. And dessert. I'll try to ignore all of that. So that's my day, time for brekky. Have a great day!

Okay, here I am once again. Sorry I just can't seem to get into this anymore. I've even thought just quitting the DD but I just can't after all these years. So I'll just check in once in awhile. I'm still struggling along with the weight, doing well some days and others not so good. I hate being this weight but the other side of me just loves the food and I just can't control myself as much as I'd like. Some people would say "what's the big deal, you only eat what you need to live and that's it". If it were that easy for me, I'd have been at the weight I wanted a long time ago. I'm an emotional eater, a comfort eater, and there's nothing I like better than stopping by a McD's and ordering all the bad stuff, way more than I need, and picking up some dessert somewhere to finish it off. I usually eat all this in front of the TV. I can be strong sometimes, blocking out the feelings that make me want the comfort foods, but that never lasts long and there I am eating whatever I want again. Things in my life are kind of mixed up right now and I keep telling myself that things could be worse, there are other people who have much bigger problems than I have, but this never works. I try to stay positive and strong but some days it just all caves in and I need the comfort. I know, wah, wah, wah! Poor me! I hate feeling like this. I know I need professional help I guess but I can't afford it and some people I know would think this ridiculous. So on I go. Sorry to be such a downer. I really don't feel that bad right now, I had a big McD's lunch with some gooey desserts. How ironic is that?! On the positive side, I did do some walking on Thursday, Friday and Saturday but none today or yesterday. That's just how I am right now, a few good days followed by the bad ones. So that's it for me. I'll check in sometime soon. Maybe things will change for the better. I know I will receive some nice comments and don't think I don't appreciate them. They mean the world to me. I know you all understand and care and that's why I can't give up the DD entirely. Thank you all!

Hey, i totally know where you're coming from. I think all of us do! One of the DD'ers once posted a quote that said something like this "good habits are just as addictive as bad ones, and much more rewarding". i said that because i think it takes us some forcing in the beginning, but when we get into the swing of things, it gets much easier. to me it's a constant struggle too, but i definitely feel much better when i am treating my body well. don't give up. xoxo

I know firsthand it isn't easy...dealing with stress without comforting ourselves with those foods we really love...I, too, am an emotional eater...some days I do better than others, just like you. I like McD's, too (and other fast food places)...I hope things get better for you, Soonie. So glad you did an entry today...it is SO GOOD to 'see' you! Keep coming back. WOW! I feel I could have written your entry. I am EXACTLY in the same place as you right now. In fact, I joined WW at work and I'm still having difficulty getting back in the groove, so to speak. I know what you mean about being an emotional eater. I am too plus I love carbs!!!! Talk about being a carb addict!!!!!! I miss seeing your entries on DD. Even though I only post once in awhile, I always read what's going on with some of my favorites (and you're one of them)!!!! I hope you keep in touch with us whenver you can and also hope you find the strength and determination to do it one more time (me too!!!). Have a great day :)

Sorry I haven't been here for a few days again. I'm still not in a good routine. Bowling was fun Thursday. Everyone bowled pretty bad but I ended up having a 202 game in the end for the high game of the day. The Bunco went pretty well Saturday, everyone had fun and enjoyed the food and left happy. So my turn for the year is over. DH and I went to a friend's house to play cards that night too. We ended up with 1 1/2 inches of rain that night too and when we got home, there was a puddle of water on the kitchen floor, the skylight had leaked, the rain had come down so hard. We never had that happen before so DH needs to get up there and check the roof. No exercise all weekend and none this morning too. Still having toe problems but maybe tomorrow. Hope you're all having a great day!

Soonie, I almost didn't see that you had done an entry today!!! I happened to look and saw your name...so glad to read an entry from you! Hope you get your skylight fixed...we ended up hiring someone to redo our roof where our skylight was and eliminating the leaking skylight we had. I don't miss it either...Your bowling sure does sound like fun!!! Hope you and yours have a wonderful evening and hope your Mom is doing well, also.

Hope you get the skylight fixed! That can be very frustrating! I am having trouble being a "regular" here again. It takes awhile to start the habit so any steps towards it are brilliant! WE can do this!

Forgot to weigh again this morning. No walking again this morning, my toes are sore again. I bought some new walking shoes yesterday, a half-size larger, so maybe that will help. My toes get pinched on the bottoms, they are so fat there, and I get blisters where they get pinched. They were so sore when I went shopping later yesterday morning, a lot of walking around then, so I just decided to sit it out this morning and I slept in. Soooo nice for a change. Bowling tomorrow morning. I have my Bunco group to my house this Saturday, 12 ladies including me, it's my turn, so I will be busy cleaning and getting the supplies to serve a nice lunch for them. I may not be walking in the mornings for awhile. At least my toes can get good and healed in the mean time. Sorry I haven't been here to read and comment. Maybe later today. Have a great day!

I hear you about the shoes and the blisters ! I wish I can bowl but I was told by both my CMT and Chiropractor that I am never allowed to bowl again. :-( I am so bummed ! Enjoy your bunco-ing... Some of my favourite memories as a child was helping mom get ready for her turn at Bunco. :-) Have a blessed evening !

Have you tried buying walking shoes in a size wide? I have and it makes a lot of COMFORTABLE difference!!!
