So the weightloss isn't going as well as I would like it to be. I had 2 perfect days of eating under 1200 calories and then, over the weekend, I grazed. I don't know why I do this. It makes me so mad! Half of me wants to eat the least amount possible of good things and the other half wants to relax and not think about it. What to do?! Well, anyway, I got up and walked for 35 minutes on my treadmill this morning and then watched the President's speech. (The first time I agree with him but too bad it won't happen, the rich dudes run the country, I'm afraid) I will do better with my eating today also. It's hard when you live with 2 men that you have to cook for and they bring bad foods into the house. But I could go on all day about them and I won't bore you. I figure if I could just live by myself, I could do better. Maybe I wouldn't have gotten fat in the first place. Anyway...... It's all up to me! See you soon!

It's tough when you live in a house with people who don't eat healthily. But keep going! If you make sure you write down every single thing you eat, it helps. Maybe when you're feeling the urge to graze, you get on the treadmill instead?

I live by myself, and believe me, it's still as hard. I do the same thing, where I have a few days of great eating and exercise, and then I back slide. We just have to keep trying our best. Great job on getting in the treadmill.

I too am I grazer. I figure if I am super active and get to the gym, then I can be a little more relaxed with the eating. That isn't working too well for me though . . .

Okay, weight's up again but that's as far as it's going this time! I'm back! Did 35 minutes on treadmill this morning and I'm going a little faster than I had been. Baby steps! And I will eat right today. No more splurges until I am below 180 this time. And at that, I will control myself. Less than 6 weeks until we go to Vegas but I'm not stressing about the weightloss. What happens, happens. I'll just do the best I can.  Have a great day!

Okay, so I went up one pound. Not too bad considering what all I ate. I didn't do too bad while we were at the resort and we were really busy, gambling and going from the room to the casino and back. And I skipped the pastries that Mom just had to buy at the little bakery. We had a nice time but now I need another vacation---alone! Nuff said.  We won some, we lost some but at the last minute I played a dollar poker machine with only a $25 ticket so I knew it wouldn't last long at $5 a hand. But on the third hand, I got 4- 10's and won $250!! So that was fun. And then we left to drive home. I'm just grateful we didn't get stuck in a dust storm on the highway on the way up or back. That's my biggest fear. They've had so many multi-car accidents on that highway over the years, 3 this year, because of the blowing dust. It's wide open desert, ya know. Anyway, that's that. Actually, my weight was 181.2 yesterday (we got back Thursday) but I ate fast food on the way to play pinnocle and then had Mexican food for dinner and lots of it. Oh, well. I'm off to a good start this morning. Got up and did 30 minutes treadmill and I will get out in the pool later for more exercise and eat better today. I hope you're all doing well. See you soon.

Just be glad your Mom is still able to go...it is a gift (one that I used to take for granted, although I know that you don't). Mine (my Mom) is in the nursing home and hasn't been able to go anywhere with me away from the nursing home for a long time. As for the up one pound, that might be sodium. Wow...as for dust storm...glad you didn't get into one. Good on the 30 minutes on the treadmill, Soonie. Pool sounds good, too. Hope you have a good day (and get some rest). :-)

Just wanted to report my new loss---woohoo! I was kind of surprised cause yesterday wasn't quite as good as it could have been. No exercise and I ate mexican food at the casino again. But I had a light dinner so maybe that helped. And only toast for brekky. So all in all, not that bad. And I'm doing the happy dance! Busy, busy today. Mom and I leave for Chandler, AZ in the morning and the resort-casino. (Does anyone think I gamble a bit over much?) Fun times! It's only a couple of hours drive from here. Wish us luck, please. And I'll try to do lots of walking around. Then we will be back on Thursday. Have a wonderful day!

Well, I just checked and I'm only down a pound from last Monday. Now if I can just stop having the "ups" and only have "downs", I will be doing quite well. I think I'm finally getting a handle on it. Yesterday I gave myself an "A+" for an excellent job. For exercise I did the 20 minutes treadmill, then later, I went in the pool and did about 25 minutes of exercise (and then, soaked up some rays floating on my raft). In the afternoon I did another 15 minutes treadmill and 10 minutes on the bike. Still I wouldn't call it strenuous but it gets my heart going and my hips start to ache. I downed 1035 calories for the day also. First time I really kept track of that. And in that, I drank 2 glasses of milk cause "The Doctors" said the other day that milk was one of the best foods you can have. I got up this morning at 7 and headed to the grocery store (I love to go that early, no crowds) where I bought lots of nice, "legal" foods. So now I'm ready to continue with this way of eating. And exercising. I still have that little voice in my head though that always says "yeah, we all know that Soonie doesn't usually last long at this" but I'm trying to ignore it. That said, on Wednesday, Mom and I are driving up near Phoenix to stay one night at a resort casino. My sister says we have to try this one restaurant where they serve a huge breakfast for only $3.99. So we will but I will make up for it the rest of the day, okay? And I'll try to chose wisely the rest of the time. Should be fun. I hope the weather is good. I'm kind of nervous about driving that far but I've done it before (not to this place) but it's been a few years. And I'm OLDER now, heh! Anyway, I've done my 30 minutes treadmill even though I was worn out from the 45 minutes of shopping and now I will have brekky and soon after, get out in the pool. May do some bike later also. Got to do what I can while the feeling is there. And I feel good, dodo dodo dodo do! Have a good one. See you soon!

That sounds like a really sensible approach. I think as long as you don't put to many restrictions on yourself, you can succeed. There is a happy place somewhere between overindulgence and deprivation and finding that is the best way to go (not easy haha). I hope you have a wonderful time with your Mom!

A small loss, good anyway. it's going so slow. At least I'm losing and not gaining now. And no McD's for a week now, that's progress. did 20 mins. on treadmill and music died  again. I don't know if my son charged it or not so have to ask him what happened. I will do more treadmill and bike and pool later. also will get out my old walkman to use for a spare if that happens again. I needs my muzik! I actually had the treadmill up to 30mph when the music died ("Love Shack"). so I had a pretty good eating day yesterday. We played pinoccle from 12:30 until after 5 yesterday afternoon and I ate NOTHING, just drank 1 1/2 bottles of water. go, me! Have a good weekend. Thanks for all your support, I love the comments! You guys rawk!

Losing is always better than gaining! I'm losing weight at a slooooow pace too, so I understand if you are a little frustrated. I gotta have my music when I exercise too, otherwise, I get bored! Hope you have a wonderful Sunday!

Soooo, I've been at this weight for 3 days now, I think. Time to move on. I have a busy day today so that will help. I didn't do too badly yesterday with the food but not really good either. And exercise was just walking backward for 10 minutes in the pool (for my back) and some paddling around and I also did 5 minutes on the recumbant bike and then, another 10 minutes on it later. Haven't done that for quite awhile. I really need to add in more exercise and less food. This morning I got up at 7 (it's now 8:10) and did 30 minutes treadmill. But my music died and I wanted to quit but trudged on for the full 30. Now I must shower and get a few things done around the house and then it's on to Betty's for pinoccle this afternoon. There are just the 4 of us and I'm so glad I joined the group about 4 years ago. We have a ball! So that's it for me. I was watching the news channel this morning while on the treadmill. Did you see the guy who sued the tobacco company because his Mom died from lung cancer back in 2002 at age 54? The judge awarded him 152 million plus interest acrued from 2004 on which may double the 152 million dollars!! It's because the tobacco company passed out free cigarettes in the project when she was only 13. I don't know, what do you think? 152 million dollars, people!!! See you soon. Have a great day!

Man - I HATE when my music dies on my half way thru my workout!!! - That's crazy about the lawsuit award! Whatever happened to being responsible for YOURSELF & your OWN actions? What next - we can sue buffet's becus they aren't monitoring our portion sizes? I saw on Yahoo last week that GROWN "kids" sued their mom for being a bad parent becus she didn't put $$ in their b-day cards & other such nonsense (they lost)!! Really - what is the world coming too?!

Well, here I go again, up and down. I did do quite a bit of exercise yesterday but the eating part was terrible. I went to the grocery store and I resisted the usual junk I would buy but still bought 2 small fried chicken wings and jalapeno potato salad from the deli. No chips and no cake but still----BAD!! I also bought 4 biscuits (what was I thinking?!) And I ate 2 myself, one for lunch and one for dinner. So, as I said, not a good day. Better today though, I've learned my lesson once again. I just finished 30 mins. on the treadmill and will get out in the pool later again. It's my middle son's birthday today and I called him to sing "Happy Birthday". He's 41 today. Boy, am I old! Okay, have a great day today and I hope everyone is safe from the hurricane. I'll try to get back here later to read some entries. See you soon! P.S. I had a similar day yesterday at the grocery store. I bought things I normally wouldn't and felt like it counteracted the exercise I did. Oh well, live and learn I hope. Keep on plugging along!

Okay, so the weight is still the same as last week. But I've been going up and down all week. No loss, but no gain. That's still almost 7 pounds gone since I started the HCG diet. I knew some would come back but now I'm working on it again. I kind of fluffed off last week and didn't do any treadmill after Tuesday but got back on it this morning and did half an hour. It's getting sort of easier now anyway. Thanks for the idea, thinkpositive, I will try to find a Vegas poster and put it in front of my treadmill somehow. Good to keep that in mind. Less than 8 weeks now. I try not to stress on that because when I usually try for a certain goal in a certain time frame, I always fail. So I'm just doing the best I can and any kind of loss will be good enough. I sure would like to be able to get into my jeans again though. My 2 sons and daughter-in-law will be joining us from Ohio in Vegas so I want to look better than I do now. They haven't seen me for a couple of years. But no matter what, it will be lots of fun, I'm sure. Well, thanks for all your nice comments. Maria, Mom is doing well. She got a shot in her back for her pain last week and it's starting to work so she feels better. Thanks for asking. You all have a great day. See you soon.

Just finished 30 minutes on the treadmill. Whew! This girl is in sad shape. I only went 2.4 mph and no inclines but speeded up some when a good song came on my ipod. I had my TV on Fox news and got caught up on the day's news, reading the crawl. Yesterday I did pretty well, not perfect yet and really don't expect to be. I think if I do the treadmill every day I can, I will lose slowly and still allow myself some of the foods that are hard to give up. But I will limit my fast food since I know it is really terrible for me and will really slow down my weightloss. I think I can do that. That said, tomorrow I will not do the treadmill since I plan on going to the casino and having lunch at The Tequila Factory, my favorite restaurant. I always get the same thing---one taco dorado with beans and rice. Yum! And their chips and salsa are to die for. So I will indulge tomorrow but stay on track today to kind of make up for it. I have 8 weeks and 5 days until we go to Vegas so I'm really pumped to lose at least 10 pounds by then. I think that's do-able. So I won't be here tomorrow morning and probably not Thursday either. I have to take Mom to the doc on Thursday morning. So I will be back and doing the treadmill on Friday. Have a great day and I'll see you soon. BTW, thanks for all the comments and support. Mmmmwah!

Nice job on the treadmill. Keep that up, even with no inclines, etc. It will do you good! I really need to get back on my treadmill too.

Your symptoms on the HCG diet sounded scary. I'm glad you are ok, and back on track. Vegas...here you come!
