Really pressed for time this morning, gotta start doing that getting up earlier thing! Bowling this morning with the gang. Whoopee! I loves me bowling! Santa Claus 3 was boring yesterday but the out take clips at the end were funny. We ate at Mimi's Cafe, the best salads EVAH! So I had a really good day. And the scale showed it this morning. Challenge Points for Tuesday, Jan. 2: 8

Good morning! Here's my stats: I had 1381 calories (within my 1400, so 2 points), 96 oz. of water (2 Points), 2 fruits, 2 veggies (apple, banana, salad, lima beans, 2 points), and 40 minutes of walking and 40 minutes of bowling (2 points). I wasn't sure about how the calorie thing works but I think I understand it now. If you're under your calorie limit you get 2 points, if you are within 100 calories over your limit, it's 1 point. Is this right? So if I'd had 1450 calories, I only would have gotten 1 point (my limit is 1400). Am I right? So anyway.....how ya all doin'?

I just finished doing 40 minutes of walking on my treadmill. I'm sorta pressed for time this morning (I wouldn't be if I'd gotten up earlier like I should have, heh). I still need to shower and wash my hair so it will dry in time (I'm not a hair dryer person) to go get my Sis and take her to lunch and a movie. I'm not sure about that though, I just remembered the kids are still out of school here and the theater will probably be full of rugrats! Especially for the movie "Santa Claus 3" at the cheap show. So I may just talk her out of going this week and make it next week. Since I've gotten older, I mean, matured, I'm not loving the kiddies as much, ya know? Sorry to be an old snob. I like peace and quiet and no crowds. So sue me! Anyway. I'm going to get ready anyway in case she still wants to go. Then if not, I may do some more exercise later, just to keep me from eating, lol. So how's your day?

2 veggies and 1 1/2 fruit: I don't know, do I get the bonus point since I had half a serving of fruit over the 3 veggies and fruits? I counted 2 anyway, you're welcome to change this, WorkingIt.

And my own little goal: no eating past 7pm.

I never did get on the recumbant bike though. I decided to color my hair instead, lol. I drove to Walgreen's to buy the color and checked out the leftover Christmas stuff, 75% off. I bought a little stuffed snowman for 83 cents and looked over the candy, picked up a couple of bags to check the calorie content and put them back, not worth it. Yay, me! They also have the Valentine stuff in, looked at the Reese's peanut butter hearts, no go! I love those things. They also had the Reese's peanut butter eggs out already at the checkout. Waaaah! I don't need this already. But I was good and mentally patted myself on the back. Whew, that was close! Colored my hair, took a shower and ate a small lunch. Here's my food for yesterday:

Brekky: cup of green tea with teaspoon of honey 30 calories

Low-sugar strawberries and cream instant oatmeal 130 cal.

Snack: Special K Protein Bar 190 cal.

Lunch: salad with 1/4 cup of tuna and FF dressing 190

Coca Cola Zero 0 cal.

6 Bing Cherries 25 cal.

One slice bread 50 cal. SF jelly 10 cal.

Dinner: LC pizza 350 cal.

1/2 cup lima beans 90 cal.

SF jello/fruit 130 cal.

Total: 1195 calories

I don't think I'm going to post this everyday, my typing is too slow, lol. But this is an example of what I eat on a great day!

I ended my day in the hot tub beneath the clear skies with bright stars and an almost full moon. I'm making this my good thing of the day and will do this everyday, if I remember. I'm going to pick one good thing from everyday from now on.

Okay, gotta go shower now. I'm going bowling later by myself so more exercise. Loves me bowling, have I mentioned?! You all have a great day! Oh, and the talking to myself thing: not a good day, I was alone most of the day and talked and talked, lmso! Gotta work on that one. Oh, and I just finished 40 minutes on the treadmill so with the bowling later, that should be plenty of exercise. Oh, and I weighed this morning, dropped 3.2 pounds of water weight!! I knew there was more coming out than going in yesterday, lmso! The water, I mean! See ya tomorrow! And thanks, BTC, you always know the right thing to say!

I love Reese's too. The one good thing about Reese Cups is there is no trans fat in them. Good job passing them up. What a way of starting the New Year!

I am really proud of you for checking out the calories on those candies and deciding against it! I did the same thing today at Walmart..looked at the new Hershey Extra Dark Chocolate bar and some other stuff and thought just like you did: It's NOT worth it!!

Happy 2007, everyone!! Okay, everyone out of the pool, it's time to start the January challenge! It is today, isn't it? Welp, I'm here and I'm starting now! I just did 30 minutes of walking on the treadmill and I will do at least 30 more later. May even put in some minutes on my poor neglected recumbant bike. I have a really nice one that is quiet and I can watch TV while doing it, so that's one of my goals, get comfortable with the recumbant bike. It always makes my buns hurt for a few days at first, lol, but I'll get over that if I keep it up. Oh, and one of my goals for this year is MORE BOWLIMG!! I love to bowl, have I told you? So more bowling. Yesterday DH and I bowled for 2 hours, we paid by the hour instead of the game cause it's cheaper that way. So we bowled 5 full games and 7 frames of the sixth before our 2 hours ran out. Fun, fun! They have a kind of tournament on Monday mornings that I might try where you can actually win money, I've always wanted to try that. Another goal. I'm not going to let this extra fat hold me back. Did you notice the weight? Bleah! Now I have 31 pounds to lose to my goal weight! I just won't think about that, lol.

So today I guess I need to start counting calories, need to get the book out. I'm so used to counting points so I need to get used to counting calories again. Maybe I'll eat less so there won't be so much to count, lol. Great idea, Einstein! Working on drinking the water already, had about 20 oz. The water is not too hard for me to get, I like the clean taste of water. The veggies and fruit part shouldn't be too hard for me either. I'm not sure I understand the bonus points part but maybe I'll just report here and let WorkingIt figure it out. Is that okay? Or do I need to figure my total points and report them to WorkingIt? And I will do the "no eating past 7" part on my own, that always helps me. And my stomach thanks me too! Well, looks like I have a plan! Let's get going!

Oh, I forgot to mention, besides the bowling yesterday morning, I ate and ate and ate all day! And all I did was watch Poker on the Travel channel all day. I love to watch that Poker. I love to play it too but I'm not that good. Anyways, a bad day of eating. But I'm over it for awhile and should be able to do quite well today, we'll see. I'm going to write down everything I eat and keep track of the calories. Should be fun, lol. Oh, and I did take my measurements this morning but I'm not recording them here. I'll just report every month on the first how much I've lost. They're disgusting! And I will report my weight every Monday morning.

One of my new goals for this year is to not always say my thoughts out loud. I have a tendency to say what I'm thinking out loud even when no one is there! Even when walking on my treadmill! SHUT UP, Soonie! I'm sure the DH gets tired of hearing my voice. And I will stop telling him everything I think about every little thing, I don't think he cares or listens anyway, lol. I pour my poor little heart out all the time, a lady must keep some secrets, right? I'll just pour my heart to you all here, you lucky people! Lol.

Happy New Year!!! So glad that you are in the challenge! The bonus points..well, if you only drink six glasses of water you get 1 point...but if you drink more than that, you get 2 points instead of one point. Same with exercise, if you exercise for only 5 minutes, you get 1 point..if you exercise for longer than 5 minutes, you get 2 points instead of one point. So based on your exercise..you would get 2 points today for exercise you are still at 1 point for water. So right now you would have 3 points. I'll be checking everyone's diary entries each day to get your points that you list..and for the first little bit I'll just check everything over to make sure it was added correctly. But soon, we'll all be swimming right along!

One more day left in the old year! Are you ready?! We're going bowling this morning, the DH and I. Yesterday I finally did the hour of walking on my treadmill at about 11:30am. After I did about 45 minutes, I had a hot flash and it really drained my strength, then at the 50 minute mark, I could feel that my blood sugar was falling, I felt weak and sweaty. So at 55 minutes I stopped the treadmill and went to check my blood sugar level---it was 74, really low for me. So I ate one of those little cup things, caramel-apple parfait, mmmmm, for some sugar, and rested a few minutes, then went back to finish the hour of walking. So at least I did the whole thing. Then I was so hungry, I ate and ate and ate! Of course I regretted it afterward and wondered why I can't fight those feelings off and be strong! I'm such a wimp! And I ate a big dinner too. So a rotten day! Am I ever going to be able to get going here? Anyway, I'm going to do the usual thing we all do---eat today and start tomorrow! I know, not good but that's the plan. I'll try not to be too bad today. I may walk on the treadmill this afternoon, I don't know. Okay, you all have a great day! Get ready for the challenge tomorrow and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Okay, so two more days left! Happy New Year! I slept in this morning and still haven't done my exercise yet. Ate a little brekky and watched yesterday's All My Children. Time to get busy! At least the sun is shining today. And it may reach 60 degrees this afternoon.

So, the challenge---I will abide by the goals that WorkingIt has set for us all, that's fine with me. I can't wait to get started. And I remember what my fifth goal was before--no eating past 7pm. I can still do that without adding points. I have some other goals for 2007---read my WW magazines as soon as they arrive, sometimes I don't read them at all and they pile up, finish all the crocheting and cross stitch projects I have started and never finished (3 or 4, I think), finally give my closet a good cleaning and organizing, get rid of all the clothes I never wear and either have a yard sale or give them to Goodwill. That should do for a start. I have 5 or 6 big boxes of clothes in the garage right now and some of them haven't been worn for years! Time to downsize! Hey, you could take that two ways, I guess, lol.

Okay, time to get busy. Walk, walk, walk! Maybe tomorrow will be bowling with the DH. You all have a great Saturday!

Monday! Monday will be the day I weigh in and record it here. I also plan on doing some measuring and maybe taking a "before" pic. Also, the CHALLENGE starts, right? I will base my goals on the suggestions that WorkingIt gave, thus: One point for each of these: eating within my WW points (20-25 on the old WW123 plan, plus extra for exercise), 3 veggies and fruits everyday, 6-8oz. glasses of water everyday (naturally, these are all everyday, heh), for me, at least 30 minutes of exercise, and let's see, one more, what was I doing before in the last challenge? Ummm, I know there was one more, can't think......guess I need to go back and look it up, heh. What do you think? Let's see, bonus points could be what? Any suggestions? Are you out there, reading this, WorkingIt? Help!

Okay, I just finished doing my hour of walking on my treadmill. Still didn't get up as early as I'd planned. Here it is, 9am and I haven't showered or eaten brekky yet or anything, just the walking and stretching and 50 crunches. Yeah, I finally started the crunches again. I sure need those! And yesterday, after 3 games of bowling, we went to Red Lobster for lunch, I was starving and it was only just after 11:00. We had a gift card so that's why we went there but it wasn't in the DH's wallet after we got in there so we just stayed anyway. I ate 2 of those heavenly biscuits with a salad/thousand island dressing and the stuffed flounder with rice pilaf. Since it was the lunch portion, it wasn't as much as I'd thought it would be and I finished it all. YUM! I always wanted to try that dish but usually got something else. It was good and only baked so not too costly in calories. So I had a lot of calories anyway with lunch with those darn biscuits. They are 4 points each! So a couple of hours after I got home (I was reading entries on here) I decided to do some walking on the treadmill. I did a whole hour and since I started out real slow for a few minutes (2.6 mph) and then increased the speed, I didn't have much trouble with the chest pains, just a slight tightness for a short time. Anyway I kept busy all afternoon and didn't eat dinner until about 6:30, just oatmeal and toast and tea, and nothing after that. So I had a pretty good day, even with the lunch, I think.

So it rained pretty much all day yesterday and some of the night and it's still cloudy and cool, going up to about 54 today. I'm planning on doing some errands later so I will keep busy. I think the exercise and the keeping busy really helps the most. You all have a great day! Stay strong, we can do this!

Uh, oh, Sis and BIL called to invite us to dinner at Macayo's last night!! You know what that means! At least DH and I split a chicken chimmechanga so it could have been worse. It was the chips and salsa that got me though. I love that stuff! And I drank water, no margheritas, lol! No dessert either and I ate nothing after getting back home. But the damage was done. Especially since I had a huge lunch. So I was up to 24 points before we even had dinner! Oh, well. Today is another day. Bowling with the gang this morning! I loves me bowling! It's rainy here, only going up to about 50, so gloomy. Just have to eat brekky and then we're off! Have a great day!

I went to a credit counseling agency a couple weeks ago and they gave me a handbook full of quizzes so at work one night I did the quizzes, the entire book full and I remembered the whole section on what to do and say when a debt collector calls and how they shouldnt be threatening or forceful and all that so I def. wasnt giving her any info. She eventually got angry and hung up on me! I told her I could pay tomorrow but that wasnt good enough, oh well.

so I may have asked already but what do you think of WW? i tried it by myself last year about this time and I lost 10lbs the first week but fell off the wagon shortly after. Im thinking of joining for real this time so I have someone to answer to. I was also wondering, if you miss a week do you still have to pay? and how much about are the materials? (lol sorry so many questions, Im a little phoneaphobic so I do what I can to avoid having to call places to ask questions, weird huh?)

Here I am again! Two days in a row of an hour on the treadmill! Just finished. It's still hard to get up in the morning though. This morning I had the clock set for 6:30, got up, set it for 7 and then finally got up. It's almost 9am now. Yesterday didn't go as well as I'd planned, the food thing. But I think all the junk is gone now and I'm not going to mess things up again. Yesterday DH went to lunch with the BIL and his parents after running the BIL around (he's the one with the brain tumor and can't drive) so what did I do? Headed right out to McDonald's for my lunch. AND I WASN'T EVEN HUNGRY!! Yuck! I've got to change that pattern right now! I want to be skinny, dernit! And it won't work doing that! At least I didn't eat much dinner. And I went to bed early again, about 8:00, right after sitting in the hot tub for 10 minutes. Aaaaah, so warm! I just flopped into bed and went right to sleep. You'd think I could get up earlier after all that sleep. I think it's hybernation season. Although it's going to about 75 today, cloudy though. Tomorrow just 53 and rain. And bowling with the gang. Did I say I love bowling? Lol. Forgot to mention---our Christmas Eve was nice, too much food and we played Uno Spin, kinda dumb, we didn't like it as much as Uno Attack. Our family gets really rowdy and loud playing Uno. But fun. I'm glad it's all over though. Time to buckle down and get in shape. My biggest jeans are too tight, that's bad! Time to start counting everything again. WW points, water oz., exercise, all that. I'm ready! Time for brekky. You all have a great day! *Sigh* I wish I was back in Maui!

Hi there. I didn't do so great yesterday either - after thinking I did better than several days before I added and came up with 1875 calories for the day! Yikes. You know one thing that is helping me through the holiday season and some days when I feel like I failed on the calorie part is that I looked up on line the # of calories I would need to eat just to maintain my current wieght. If I look at that I haven't done too bad all in all on any given day. It is kind of like the consolation prize. I have even averaged a weeks calories to see if I could come up up with some rationale. It isn't perfect, but it helps some days to give me a more realistic view of how I am doing over all and not just on 1, 2, 3 or even 4,5, or 6 days. I still have one cake left at my house that I am going to "divide and conquor" by cutting up and taking to neighbors tonight! Got to draw the line somewhere, huh?

hey Soonie, I started off great today, writing down everything I ate and counting calories but it all went to pot late afternoon when I started with all the goodies again (why are they called goodies when they are so baddy for you???). Tomorrow is anothet day and I need a good dose of willpower but I will start agin. We will all get down to it again!!!I'm going to give a load of cheeses to my eldest son to take home and eat on my behalf!!!

GOOOOOOD MORNING!! Soonie's back! I just did an hour on my treadmill, almost 3 1/4 miles. Wow, it was sure was hard to get out of that warm bed this morning! I set my clock for 6am, got up at 6, set it for 6:30, got up at 6:30, set it for 7 and almost went back to bed then, lol! But I knew I had to do my exercise in the morning or I'd get that pain in my chest if I did it later, so I did it! I really pushed myself to do the whole hour, heh. Today's plan: eat very lightly! I got sick of seeing that weight there so I took it out. Didn't weigh this morning either, not planned, just forgot. Probably a good thing, heh. I can tell I'm fat though, lol. So today is the beginning of my new year. Getting an early start. Will this be "the year"? Will Soonie get thin and healthy this year? I ask the same question every year, lol. Usually I answer "THIS is the year"! Hasn't happened yet! Maybe this year. Time is running out for this old lady!

Okay, I'm going to get here later to read entries and get caught up. This will be part of my plan from now on. I'm going to become a regular here again! Oh, and I told DH to fill the hot tub again, I'm going to need it. And as soon as I get some of this extra weight off again, I plan on going back to the gym. I'm so lumpy and flabby! LOL Tee-Hee Seriously - I lost almost 20 lbs since September 15, 2006 (probably have gain 3-4 back over the holidays) but still plan to get to goal by June 2007. That means 10 or 15 more lbs. We are all in this together but it is a voluntary thing - so keep coming here and hanging with us. Good luck to us all!

Hey Soonie, I am the same age too so you have got to agree that you are young for all our sakes. I refuse to be an old lady!!! LOL Sounds to me like you ARE up for it this year. You are pretty good on the treadmill too:) Keep it up!!!
