Whoohoo! It's a good day so far! I'm very surprised that the weight didn't go up some. I didn't have a very good eating day yesterday. And I bought more roasted, salted almonds, what was I thinking?? I can't resist those things. I had just finished up a can of them the night before just to get them out of the house so now what? I'll try to measure them out in small servings, one serving a day, that's all! And I won't get into the tortilla chips and cheese queso again either. I just can't make myself throw things out as Dr. Phil says to do. I'm hoping the DH and #3 son will eat them before I cave again. Otherwise I haven't been doing too badly, I guess. I got on the treadmill last night while watching "Deal or No Deal" and just did 1 1/2 miles in 30 minutes to try to make up for the food I ate. Whew, I am just not an evening exerciser, I get so much more out of breath than when I do it in the morning. Oh, and I did get out in the pool in the afternoon and did a little swimming and sunning. One of these days I will get back to the gym. It's summer and I just don't feel like driving all that way! And I really should start those ab exercises too, my worst area. I look 5 months preggers! Okay, you all get out there and have a great Tuesday. I read all the entries yesterday, sorry to you all for not commenting. You're all doing great and I feel left out, heh.

Good job on the exercises!!! Limit your almonds and you'll do fine. Salt will make you bloat and feel yucky!!! You can do this!!! I have faith in you!!!

You read that right---back into the 150's again, whew! Let's see if I can keep this up. Yesterday's exercise---4 games of bowling, did pretty darn good, if I do say so myself, lowest game--173! Some swimming in the pool in the hot afternoon---105!! Water temp--a smooth 86, mmmmmm. I spent part of the time out there, cleaning the bottom of the pool. Today, I opted out for the gym, going to Super WalMart and several others instead. Pool later this afternoon if it doesn't cloud up. If I can't get some sun, I figure it's a waste! Or maybe not, I may just swim anyway. Have a great Monday!

I wish my pool water was that warm.. mine is still at the point where its cold .. till ya get to moving around..lol.. but it hasn't got really hot outside yet either.. but I don't let that stop me..lol..I've been trying to do some water workouts in there..lol.. but when you have three kiddos in there with ya.. geesh... they wont leave ya alone.. but just dodging them is workout..lol.. anywho.. keep it up sweetie.. and have fun in the pool.. :).. OH I wore my goggles today.. we where throwing tings in and diving for them.. and I hope I don't have goggle eyes later..lolol.. hugs

Lost some water weight, now on to the real fat! I did pretty well yesterday--did another mile on the treadmill after breakfast, making it a total of 3 miles for the day and then, later, I went out in the pool and did some "swimming", not at all like geevee does, just put on my snorkel equipment and paddled around. I find I can do this longer, keeping my head in the water and "snorkeling", than I can doing regular swimming but I'm going to work on it. Mostly I was just getting some sun. Eating for the day was not perfect but better than I had been doing. I was really great until dinner time, then I overate. I made sloppy joes and I had planned on not eating it myself but caved and ate 2! They were small but still....along with some baked cheetos and then I ate 2 slices of toast with sugar-free jelly for dessert! Oh, well, onward from today, right? I did read some more of the Dr. Phil book and I'm finding it really helpful and I'm only up to key #3. I hope to incorporate his lessons into my plan. Okay, have a great Sunday!

And here we go again! Okay, this is my official "starting over" day! Weight is up quiiiiite a bit, heh. I'm reading the Dr. Phil book, Ultimate Weight Loss Solution, but most of it I already know and I'm sure the rest of you do too. But then, I'm only about 1/16 of the way into it. The first key is what I do the worst at---not saying bad things to myself and calling myself names, things like that, right thinking. I'm sure you've heard Dr. Phil mention this before, and Oprah too. So that's what I'm working on first. I did get up early and get on my treadmill, walked for 2 miles and may do more later or may do the bike. I reeeeeally need to start those ab crunches again too. I'll plan on going to the gym Monday. Tomorrow will be lots of bowling I think. Love that bowling! I'm feeling pretty pudgy right now but not being down on myself. I know that is self-defeating so I'm trying to be positive. The past is in the past, it's on to the future. I have that cruise the end of October, that gives me 5 months or about 20 weeks to lose 22 pounds, that's my goal. I REALLY need to cut out the sugar completely, my toes tingle and hurt every night now and I know that's a bad sign for a diabetic. Also, my right hand goes numb a lot, another bad sign. Time to wake up, Soonie, old girl, you're killing yourself! Okay! Time for breakfast, my stomach just actually growled, a good sign. I'm sure it will be doing that a lot in the near future. I'm going to try "volumetrics" though (geevee) and keep reading Dr. Phil's book and try to follow his food plan as much as possible. Also incorporating WW since that is such a habit with me. So you all have a great Saturday. I'll be back to read later.

So you have a treadmill and exercise bike too at home? Thats great, we bought our treadmill a few weeks ago and got the bike with it for free - it was the best things we could get, now we can exercise with no excuses!

Good job on the exercise, take your eating a day at a time, i have found that if i get anxious on how much and what i should be eating i actually eat more in the end.

And oh yea by the way, bowling is great exercise, so have a strike on me :)

Weight still the same. I did finally get 2 miles of walking in this morning on my treadmill, a little less than 37 minutes. It's a start. Eating is still not so good. Started the Dr. Phil's diet book last night for the second time. He's so right about how we all tense up when we first decide to start a diet (not his words, exactly) so I'm just going to relax and take it slow. Hope you're all doing good. See ya!

Great work on the exercise!

You asked about the ostrich patties, well the taste of it is a whole lot diffrerent from beef, cant really describe the taste, the closest thing i can think of is liver? But its not as overpowering as liver though. I actually like ostrich more than beef these days. They sell it packaged here as patties for burgers and in restaurants they sell ostrich steaks as well as in supermarkets. It has much less fat and cholesterol than normal beef ive heard. Maybe you should try it. I googled it and it seems its more a gourmet food in the States, so maybe you can get if from a speciality store or that farm that you have nearby? I have heard that 12 chicken eggs can fit into one ostrich egg, so the eggs are very high in cholesterol. They use the eggs here for decoration, paint it and sell it at high prices.

I just have to say that I'm doing this for myself, not anyone else. (although, right now I'm not doing that much, heh) I was just surprised that no one noticed that I was missing but, now that I think about it, it is hard to remember every single person here, there are so many. I wasn't boo-hooing, I was just stating a fact. And I know y'all are busy but a whole week went by and I'm very insecure, ya know, lol. Sometimes things we say here don't come out the way we mean them, as they would when spoken in person. Anyway, I'm not going to make entries here every day as I was before, I'm just not feeling into it right now. But I will keep up the struggle, never give up! And now that all the TV shows are reruns, I'm going to make some time to read the Dr. Phil books, see if he can help me through this some. Still no exercise here but I did do a lot of running around, shopping yesterday and I'll keep busy today too. Maybe tomorrow--the gym, who knows? See ya's!

I do think of you and everyone else here probably every day, but considering that people tend to vanish for weeks and sometimes even months or years at a time, I generally tend to wait a while before going into panic mode, hehe. (Although then sometimes people come back and say that their boyfriends were diagnosed with cancer... that sucks.)

And also, in my defense, I was away for most of last week! So please stick around - who else will wallow in self-pity with me?! :)

Hi there!

Im glad you realized that you are doing this for yourself in the end. Im suffering from anxiety and depression and have learnt the hard way. I usually take things too personally or get too attached to people or things. Well i have come a long way. I dont say you are like that, but what i am saying is, we must be human enough to connect with other people but independent enough to be able to carry on, on our own. I think that is what makes us "whole" in the end. Well im still continuing in my daily battle towards that goal, but i love to share what i believe with others......

Oh and i love DR Phil, i bought his book Self Matters, but i just got through it half way, i think i should pick it up again.

No rhyme or reason why the weight is down slightly. While #2 son was here visiting, we ate EVERYWHERE!! Lots of lardy Mexican food! But I guess since I kept busy and stuck to 3 meals a day, I kept it under control, just not very healthy. Guess I wasn't missed here so I'll just check in once in awhile to keep my account. See ya.

Good Sunday morning to you all! Okay, this has got to stop. I feel terrible! Going up and up all the time! #2 son is coming in this morning too for a week's visit so who knows what I will be eating this week. But enough's enough! I'm really going to try a lot better with the eating and I'm going to plan some exercise whenever I get the chance. Maybe get it done early in the morning when everyone is still sleeping. Who needs sleep?! Haha! This is my limit and I vow to not let it go any higher. I hate this feeling!

Yesterday we had a lot of fun. Only 4 of us went from our Red Hat Lady group down to Sierra Vista for the event and we yakked all the way. A great way to get to know them better. We stopped for lunch (you don't want to know) on the way and the event was a lot of fun. So many Red Hat Ladies there in one room from all over the state you'd think purple had exploded all over everywhere! (we wear purple clothes and red hats) I ate a few tiny desserts and shopped the stands for Red Hat Lady stuff, like t-shirts, pins, jewelry, hats, of course, and I bought a purple and red feather boa, a purple and red feather fan, a red hat pin and earrings and a long red-hats-on-purple-backround scarf. I am truly an old lady! Bought raffle tickets and split-the-pot tickets but didn't win anything. Our next event is a luau, should be fun.

Okay, I'm up early this morning so I could wash my hair and we leave here at 8:45 to go to the airport to pick up #2 son. I hope you all have a great day. I'm still not all caught up with you all. I'm so busy lately so how do I find so much time to eat?? Well, I'm getting all caught up with all the finale shows I taped this past week (did ya see ER??) and I joined Netflix so I'm getting a movie DVD about every week. I started off with the first season of Will and Grace. I loved that show and didn't watch the first couple of seasons of it so now I can get caught up. Without commercials too! Okay, you all have a great day!

Oops, time for some damage control! I haven't been eating well at all. Today shouldn't be too bad since I will be busy all day. The Red Hat ladies are all going to Sierra Vista, about a 90 minute trip from here, to an event that's sort of like a flea market or yard sale where people sell Red Hat Lady stuff. And desserts are available too. But I won't partake of that. We're stopping for lunch on the way down there. It's close to the Mexico border, hope we don't run into any illegals, haha. I'm wearing my purple shirt, purple socks and my red hat is ready to go. Should be fun and keep me away from the food at home. If I'm busy, I just don't eat that much. Have a great day!
