Good Friday Morning, everyone! It's Friday! Though I'm not excited about that. The weekends are so hard for me. It throws me off the good schedule I have all week somehow. But I will persevere!

Yesterday was not so good. I over indulged, just kept eating things when I shouldn't have. But nothing huge, like fast food or sweets. I didn't get in the usual amount of water or the fruits and veggies and I ate too many almonds. And I did eat some of them after my usual 7pm cutoff. And the only exercise was bowling 3 games. So I'm going to try something new this week--staying off the scale until official weigh-in on Thursday. I'm just going to do my best every day and see what happens then. I have played around with taking today off in my mind. I have my gyny exam this morning at 10 (oh, joy!) and then I could head on over to the gym OR I could just go shopping at the mall or the second hand store (although I don't need anything) and treat myself to Macayo's for lunch all by myself. But I think right now I'm thinking the gym will win out. I may not do that much of a workout but we'll see how I feel about that after I get going. Things are subject to change though, it's just one of those days.

Okay, that's it from Soonieland. Oh, Maria, I usually eat cantaloupe, bananas, applesauce, strawberries, mango, oranges for fruits and corn, peas, carrots, salad or lima beans (I'm really loving the lima beans lately) for the veggies. I count refried beans for veggies too although I think they are legumes, what do you think? I love that Mexican food. So here's to having a great day for us all! See ya tomorrow!

Almonds aren't a horrible choice, it could of been worse (like a Biggie order of Fries at Wendy's!).

And bowling, what wonderful exercise that is! I have to wear tank tops when I bowl, because I get sooo hot wearing anything with sleeves! And yes, I think you've mentioned you like to bowl a lot. How long have you been bowling? I dont really have any skills, but I hope with practice I will become decent. :o)

Take today off and enjoy it!

Woohoo! Doing the happy dance this morning! I guess you could say I had a great week! And I'm going to keep on keeping on! Yesterday I had 20 points and did 95 minutes of work at the gym. I had a good time too. I did 3 miles of walking but only did 7 of my usual exercises. I skipped the arm exercises, even though I need those the most, because of my left shoulder pain. I did try some new things though. I added 3 more kinds of ab exercises and did 2 whole minutes on the ellyptical (evil machine). I know that's not much at all on that thing but I figure I will try adding another minute each time I do it. I liked the ab exercises and I sure do need the extra help there. So far I'm enjoying going to the gym. Did I just say that?! Oh, and I had 4 veggies and 2 fruits for the day. And over 100 oz. of water, as I do just about every day. So I am improving. I even enjoy my veggies now and have had a salad every day but 2 in the past 2 1/2 weeks. That is so not like the old me!

Today will be bowling again. This time with the DH and the other old people, haha! It's much more fun with other people. Then maybe lunch out. I may relax a little and not count points today, I don't know. Oh, and I forgot to say, that one bird I had on my shoulder in the pic, he kept picking at my ear and hair and the man had to keep telling him to stop it. But it was fun anyway and I'm glad we did it. I can't wait to go back there but it will be awhile because we don't have any points left to use on the time share. We get new ones every year in September. So maybe not next year but the year after. It takes 10,000 points to stay there for a week. And we only get 6000 a year. So next year I can use this year's points and borrow from next year if we want. Anyway, too much boring info, I know. I just seem to be rambling on this morning.

Okay, I went and did it! I put up the pic we had done in Maui below. My face is so pale and so's my hair, not usually like that, but I wanted you to see how we got to hold the birds on us, REAL birds!! It was fun and we were lucky, they didn't crap on us, hahaha! So that's not what I REALLY look like, haha, you know, that's just how I look in pictures, hahaha! DH always looks good, no matter what. Anyways, now you can put a face with the Soonie name, heh. Sorry if the pic is too big, I'm a computer clutz!

Well, I'm back to 157 even today. I'm hoping for a big drop tomorrow. I'm going to the gym to work out today. I plan on having a good, hard workout. Even though I'm kinda sore from Monday's increase of the weights. I'm kinda afraid of hurting my left shoulder really bad, it already hurts anyway, I hurt it back in '98, I think it was, working out with weights, and it's been hurting ever since, so I'm afraid of making it much worse but so far I'm managing okay. And then I have a bad right knee too that acts up sometimes. My right heel pain has let up some, still doing stretches for it before I get up in the mornings.

Yesterday was another great day. I ate 25 points and bowled 4 games in a little less than an hour by myself. Whew, I was tired and kinda sweaty after that. So I'm calling it exercise! Like I said before, I use a 16 pound ball so I'm lifting a lot of weight each time I pick it up and then throw it. Good, fun exercise. Also had 4 veggies and 3 fruits. I'm loving my veggies now.

So I'm all dressed and ready to go to the gym this morning. First I need to eat brekky and watch Regis and Kelly. I don't need to make any stops today so I can spend as long as I want at the gym. Hoping to do the 3 mile walk again. Weather's a little cooler here today and the rest of the week---60's but sunny. Maybe some rain later this week. Not a bad winter, haha! Okay, I guess that's it. Good morning! Well, the scale said 157.4 this morning but I'm not bugged about it. I realize these things do happen sometimes for no real reason. I ate well--22 points and exercised at the gym for 90 minutes. Increased the weights on 7 out of the 12 exercises I do and walked for 2 miles. So I'm not worried although it's always nicer to see the drop, not the increase. Well, not much to say this morning. I have a dentist appointment at 10 and then I may go bowling. I'll see ya all tomorrow! Have a good one!

New day, same weight! 157, I'll take that. Yesterday was a good day. We bowled 4 games really fast, it took less than an hour and a half, just DH and I. So that was my exercise. I ate 25 points for the day, 4 veggies and 2 fruit. Lots of water and no eating after 7pm. Even watching the Oscars, I didn't eat anything. I started on a new project, a cross stitch thingy, so I was busy preparing and starting on that while watching TV. I'm still feeling great with lots of energy but very hungry this morning. No eating breakfast until 9am though. I try to keep to a schedule---breakfast 9am, lunch after 1pm, snack after 4pm, and dinner about 6:30pm. So far it's working out pretty well.

So today will be the gym. I'm all dressed and almost ready to go after breakfast sometime. Need to stop at Mom's after to drop off some small free weights that I don't use so she can do some arm exercises while watching TV or something. She needs to build up some strength in her arms. And the only walking she does is when she goes shopping or around the house. We try to talk her into walking down the block some to her mailbox and back but she's afraid she'll fall. At the stores, she can lean on the carts. She has a treadmill but doesn't like to use it. Hey, who does?! She's keeping off the weight she lost while she was sick and is trying to eat better than she used to. She has cut out all alcohol, thank goodness. And with the Vegas trip and the cruise to plan for, she has a lot to get ready for. So I hope she keeps it up. Anyways......that's it for the Soonster. I'm keeping up with all your entries, I wouldn't have it any other way, hehe. And I keep you all with me all day long to keep me honest. Love you guys! Thanks for being here. What ticker thing??? Are you talking about the graph at DD? For that all you need to do is put in your highest weight, weight now, and goalweight at the top over your entry and it automatically shows on your entry. But you may already know this and be talking about something else.

My Mom isn't keen on exercise, either...I try to encourage her to walk from her apartment door to the sidewalk a couple times a day ( a very, very short walk) but she's not interested, it seems. She fell and broke her hip in 2004 but she hated exercise before then, too. Oh, well, all we can do is try to encourage them.

Way to go on the weight loss !!!... clap clap clap for you.. seems your schedual is working well for you :O).. does your mom have a walker? That might help her feel safer to walk more.. ? Just a thought..

Yay! 157!! Sounds great to me! And you're doing so well on those fruits and vegetables. Now that's impressive!

I've been trying to eat just four times a day too, with around 3-4 hours between meals. That seems to be the best way to keep hunger at bay. In my case I wake up too late for breakfast so the challenge is waiting until noon for lunch. Some days it's easy, other days I'm starving and watching the clock until I can eat!

Surprise, surprise!! 157 this morning. I love those even numbers, hehe! I was so surprised because when I got on the scale, I kinda felt fatter compared to yesterday's emptiness. So once again, the work paid off. I did have 28 points out of a possible 23-28 allowed but I figured it was Saturday and I was really hungry all day. At least I didn't give in to wanting to go to McD's for my dinner and I kept track of the points. I also went to the gym. First I stopped at the mall to exchange a shirt I bought the other day (medium, what was I thinking, it looked big enough to me) for a large and I walked around some of the stores. Then to the gym where I did 2 1/2 miles on the track and 48 ab crunches on the machine, total 50 minutes. Then it was on to the grocery store where I did some more walking. After lunch I worked on 2 loads of my laundry and sorted the clothes in the boxes in the garage. 4 big boxes, but I got them sorted into groups of "going to Goodwill", "going to the second hand store" and "maybe I'll keep them after I try them on". So now I have room to clean out my dresser drawers and put some stuff into the boxes. It's a never ending thing with clothes for me. I'm always buying more. Such a spoiled Soonie! DH even gave me a nice back rub last night when I went to bed. What a life!

Okay, we're going bowling this morning. I still need to eat breakfast. So that's it from the Soonie-front. I plan on having another great day. Heck, I'm not going to let this end, EVAH!! Take care and have a great day. See ya tomorrow!

Alrighty then! Down to 157.6 this morning and I'm doing the happy dance! Whoopee! All that hard work yesterday paid off. And I took a water pill last night, heh. I know, that's cheating. Oh, well. I paid for it by getting up 4 times during the night, haha! Musta been water. So yesterday was a great day, lots of water, lots of exercise and good eating, I mean, great eating. 25 points, I could have had 26-31 because of my exercise. I exercised for 115 minutes at the gym, walking 3 miles and doing all my other exercises. They are getting easier so I will up some of the weights on Monday. I feel fantastic. No more not wanting to get up in the morning. No more naps in the afternoon. I have more energy than I can use in a day. Oh, and I had 4 veggies and 3 fruits for the day. I think that's what's working, the veggies and fruits instead of chips and sweets. I still have my Orville Reddenbacher's mini-bag of 94% fat-free kettle corn in the afternoon though. Mmmmm, sweet and salty together. I know, I could eat something more nutricious but it's my one treat for the day. And it's working.

So I'm up and dressed, ready to head to the gym for some walking and whatever new cardio thingy I might get up the nerve to try. I hope it's not too crowded. I'm just doing cardio today, only do the weights on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Then I will stop at the grocery for a few things, seems I'm always doing that. And later I need to get out in the garage and go through all the boxes of clothes that I have stored and get rid of some. DH has gone fishing for the day so he won't be in my way, heh. Remember I used to head to McD's for breakfast whenever he went off fishing for the day? That's the old Soonie. This is the new, here-to-stay Soonie! So I'm off to eat my low-sugar oatmeal for brekky. Oh, and my blood sugar levels are doing terrific! I'm so happy! Have a great Saturday, everyone! Luv ya all! See ya tomorrow!

157.6 - no way! Those pounds are just melting off you, aren't they?!

I love kettle corn - I became addicted to it at the cinemas here, where it's much more popular than regular popcorn. I'd never had it before that. I certainly didn't know it was available in bags, and mini-bags at that! Must stock up on those the next time I'm in America.

Sorry to say, this is not an inspiring or encouraging entry so if you don't want to read on, go now, hurry! Bad day, yesterday, I don't want to discuss it. I know, you're all groaning and saying "Soonie, what's wrong with you?" This morning--- scale said----159.6!! Ouch! But I deserve it and I'm all over it now. Better days are right ahead! Back to the "new" Soonie!

Today will be the gym, for sure. And I will try to do a longer workout. Lots and lots of water and eating right. I'm not going back where I was before--the 160's, no, not me! Now I have a trip to Vegas to look forward to April 26 with the DH, my Mom and my brother. Should be fun and I want to look nice for it. We're going with one of those group deals, $128 each for 3 nights at the downtown Golden Nugget and round trip airfare! Can't pass that up. So something to plan for.

April 26th is only 53 days away. You can stick to this for 53 days!! Think of how great you'll feel and how proud of yourself you'll be on the 26th. Trust me, it will be worth all the water you're drinking and all the exercise you're doing and all the junk food that you're NOT eating!

I'll let you in on a little secret. There's a chance my husband and I could be going on a trip on the same day as you - to America! YES!! So you and I have the same goal, really. Well, I would at least like to maintain my weight until then, though I'm doubtless going to gain a few pounds in America (gorging on Skyline, of course!) so it would be nice if I could drop a couple before I leave. But I'm not going to worry about that - I'm just going to concentrate on sticking to my plan for the next 53 days. And so will you!

Uh, oh! Official weigh day today. Up some from yesterday. Must be the Mexican food. I still feel bloated and very thirsty. But I'm recording a 1.2 loss from last week so that's not too bad and I really enjoyed the food. I know I should have ordered from their new lite menu or gotten something smaller but by the time we got there, the DH and were so hungry we started chowing down on the chips and salsa right away, heh. And I ordered my usual, without the extra cheese though. Small victory. And I ate almost all of it, no cutting it in half right away and saving some for tomorrow. Oh, no, not me. I ate like there was no tomorrow! Anyway, I'd only had 10 points for the day up until then so it could have been worse, though not much. Oh, well, maybe I'll know better the next time. At least I didn't eat anything else the rest of the night. I took the camera and took pictures to send to #1 son and DIL so they can see how we enjoyed the gift cards they sent us all for the dinner.

Okay, bowling today. I had thought I was going to be taking my Mom to the doc's this morning but she said she could drive herself. She's feeling much better now. And you know how I love my bowling. Probably have lunch out but I will do much better than I did last night, I promise you. Oh, and I did my usual at the gym yesterday, a good workout. You all get out there and enjoy your day. It's sunny here with a high of 77 today. We had a nice rain yesterday, the first in 4 months. Take care and remember what a great person you are! See ya tomorrow!

You're doing so well. As for the weather, we, too have been blessed with warm weather, but may turn a little cooler beginning tomorrow (60's instead of 70's)...but only the Lord knows...anyway, I've been keeping up with your entries and have been being inspired and encouraged by them.
