(Low Carb)
Weight: 154.3

Good morning my beautiful girls I hope everyone is having a great weekend I am so ready for some pampering and I am going over the menu of the various services and packages that Signature Nails and Spa has to offer....I am hoping that they will customize a package for me....I am one of the fortunate ones who's nails are not only strong they are a decent lenght as well...I am hoping they will swap the manicure for the eyebrow wax....

I was also hoping to take Val along with me and treat her to an afternoon of pamper as well but she is working at JB's this afternoon(she worked there til 3 am this morning) Oh btw those who haven't read previous post ther is a val  and Jaxs update below...

Well girls i better go before I give in my urge to nap...I keep calling the spa and they are not answering..Strange  too is the fact that their menu does not list their hours??????

Ahhhhhhh!!!!! Here before you stands(well sits LOl) a calm much more relaxed girl The spa day was AMAZING!!!!! My only other wish was for you guys to be there and Val!!!!! The girls at the spa were so slow so I truly was the pampered princess!!!!! So i got my pedi with the paraffin and waxing from Lisa and my 1 hour massage and eyelash extentions from Heidi....My lashes are off the chain insane! I didn't realize they would be a long as they are...I kinda feel like Mr. Snuffalufagus(sesame street) LOL i hope they don't hinder my vision, i can't wait to bat them at a cute boy or two My feet as Val would say were "tore up from the floor up" before and now they feel wonderful and the massage well i am soooooo relaxed right now!!! i can't really say anything good about the waxing well it is so painful for the eyebrows and lip area but it is a small price to pay in the name of vanity!  Well girls i am going to pop in to see what is going on in your worlds and then Val wants to visit our bartender friend Logan at his seafood restaraunt and I am thinking maybe some King crab(no butter of course) My other option is the Oysters Rockefellers and a small salad...val probably won't be done at work til 7 so i have time to decide the best option....With weigh in on Tues and this morning's arrival of TOM i gotta think thin!!!!! Dang it TOM!!!!! Drats

B- Starbucks 1 pear, 1/2 cup ff cottage cheese

L- 2 wedges lc lght 2 celery stalks

D- 12 oz king crab, 1 cup baby field greens with red wine vin 1 lemon wedge

1 gallon of water and maybe 2 goose and celsius

Progress as of today: 72.7 lbs lost so far, only 4.3 lbs to go!

KathyBlue on 10/10/2010:
Hey hon, I just posted a photo for you in one of the jeans!!! :))))))

KathyBlue on 10/10/2010:
no, these are the ones saying BOOT CUT, veryveryveryvery comfortable!!!! :) The patch is soooo cute!! :)))

hollybelle on 10/10/2010:
Good for you - relax. I have a massage scheduled Monday afternoon and a chiropractor, hair cut and eyebrow wax on Wednesday!

hollybelle on 10/10/2010:
Well, I'm not sure we can even get them here at the grocery, V! KY is very far inland and I'd say backwards enough they probably don't have the at the store. But would your recipe be adaptable for other seafood? I can get shrimp that's pretty good.

KathyBlue on 10/10/2010:
i strongly believe they are 48 (EU) --> 18 US size!!! :)

KathyBlue on 10/10/2010:
and yeah, I'm tall!!! :)))

hopingforhealth on 10/10/2010:
enjoy the pampering!

KathyBlue on 10/10/2010:
ahhhh, 16!!!!!! :D :D :D The day when I quit being a "big size" will be one of the best days of my life... LOL.. RESERVED! what's your actual size now? 3? :D

hopingforhealth on 10/10/2010:
I went to see a band called Built to Spill; they were pretty good!

hopingforhealth on 10/10/2010:
Yea, it's weird how emotional this stuff can be! It's always surprising when people aren't more supportive! Boo on Patrick! It took me a minute to figure out your acronym, but I got it. Too funny!

KathyBlue on 10/10/2010:
so, V... at this point of our lives, we stop for a moment and say: At the end, size does MATTER! LOL... I was joking about size 3.. cannot even imagine that, lol... I'd like to have smaller feet (have 10,5-12!!! AAARGH, one woman wishes to inherit MONEY from male relatives and definitely NOT shoe size..) and normal breast. Check the photo again... I will really need plastic surgery there, too... to lift them up... :( I know I will need plastic surgery. I still need to lose 50+ pounds to be able to talk about it with the doctor, but I know perfectly well that it will be needed... I hate to see the photos because of that.

KathyBlue on 10/10/2010:
size of raisins?? LOLOLOL... I know V.Secret! :) I use Triumph bras, normally. And nothing like push-ups, etc. ,my size is 90D so they are not small but Earth's gravitation is affecting them too much :(

skinnygrlwithin on 10/10/2010:
I am so very jealous o your day of pampering..it sounds absolutely amazing... BUT ENJOY IT cause you definitely deserve it!!!!

Maria7 on 10/10/2010:
Hello there! :-D Are you Val? (As your name is V.)

moogy on 10/10/2010:
Perfect timing for TOM as usual!! Your day sounded wonderful, definitely one of the finer things in life - a day a the spa!! Your eating options are also not exactly hard to choose from, have a great time. Now, on to meeeee, when I did all my test back in april/may, the neurosurgeon found out that I didn't have a tumour and wasn't epileptic or anything else diagnosable. I don't lose any brain functionality (I may just have made that word up) or have any lasting symptoms, except the tongue is a bit sore and the sore calves, which after walking round the shops a bit are also fine again. It is a mystery. I dare say at some stage it will get really bad or it may just go away. Whatever!!! LOL

loveray on 10/10/2010:
so glad you pampered yourself at the spa, you deserve it!! xo

chidogs on 10/10/2010:
The spa thing sounded so awesome. I have never even had a manicure. :) You are doing really well and definately deserved to be pampered. Take care.

moogy on 10/11/2010:
I have never had a spa day, the closest I have come is one massage. I am doing fine, my tongue is still a little sore, I must really have had a good chew on it - apart from that everything is back to normal. I just have to wait for these seizures to increase in frequency or change in content in order to get more info. on what the actual problem is. I am having some sort of brain activity fluctuations when I have a seizure but the neurosurgeon cannot find anything wrong yet!!

Umpqua on 10/11/2010:
Pedicure with paraffin wax is one of my favorite spa treatments! I'm glad you had a day of luxury. Sorry about the visit from Jax not turning out the way you had hoped. It sucks when we watch our friends make mistakes and sacrifice their self esteem, bah. Sounds like you went ahead and had a good time anyway though. I hope you have a great week!

selina on 10/11/2010:
Ahhh! How wonderful being pampered at the spa! I'm so envious! It reminds me of the time I lived in the Philippines - spa treatments are so inexpensive and I went very often. In fact, I had the lady to come to my condo for the massages. After experiencing those prices, I just can't make myself pay the hugenormous bills in Switzerland or in the US! Have a great week!

sweetpea1977 on 10/11/2010:
lol, I eat healthy 90% of the time and all I get rewarded with is a slow and steady gain in my belly. Its starting to affect my cycle. I haven't had a period since May! ;-)

Thanks for the laugh! xoxo

(Low Carb)
Weight: 154.3

Good morning ladies i am refreshed and ready for a new day Yesterday was pretty busy, and scary....Val was having chest pains all day and refused to go to the hospital i am sure it has alot to do with her working 2 jobs with not alot of rest and never having a day off, but you can't reason with a stubborn 23 year old! She was feeling better at the end of the afternoon shift so off she went to work at her other bar that closes at 3 am

The night got even worse as ambulances and scores of cop cars filled our parking lot because at the same time a lady passed out in our lobby and another lady fell in our parking lot ...They both left in ambulances...Working in a hedonistic place such as this you are used to seeing this but MAN! So glad friday is over!!!! I managed to get almost 12 ozs of protien in but you know i will always have time to get my gallon of water in!!!!!!

I was so exhausted when i got home last night so i will have to catch up with everyone 2 morrow when i have more time...I have a very interesting synopsis about my friend's (Jaxs)visit that i will post tonight or tommorow, so stay tuned, LOL !!!! Much love to all my lovely girls

Time to start my Weekend!!!!!! I am all jacked up on Starbucks and mapping out my Sunday!!!! I really want to go for a pedicure, massage and wax before kickoff cause you know I have to watch my football!!! i also have been dying to get eyelash extensions....Anyone here ever had that done ??? I could either get the lashes that stay for 2 weeks or 8????

So Val's chest issue has subsided and although I am sure it is from lack of proper rest but it still worries me

So I must say that I am slightly dissappointed that Jax's visit came with a not so hidden agenda....Her entire trip here revolved around trying to hook up with JimIn doing so she really didn't have much fun at all, in fact I think that her ego was more than a little bruised when he fled in the opposite direction.....If she would have only listened to me, Val or Ambular, she might have gotten somewhere OR even better she could have met a really nice guy(hello between the 3 of us we know lots of them) Instead she was either texting , calling or talking about him!!! Let me tell you he is no prize either! He is a raging drunk who gets into nightly bar fight's, also one step away from being jobless and homeless,in fact our GM has so kindly offered to hold his position at work if he would go to rehab...

So why did she drive all the way from ATL to hook up with such a loser you ask???? SELF ESTEEM!  She blew me off Thursday night so she could "rest up" for her drive back...Well imagine that look on her face when she walked into the bar later on that evening with the 3 of us sitting there( V. Ambular and I), we all knew she was looking for Jim but he got out of there as soon as he spotted her! I feel really sorry for her that she doesn't think she deserves better   And guys can totally smell desparation a mile away and it truly turns them off! i hope she gets it together, one can only hope!!!! Well girls I will post in the am...Love you all!

B- Starbucks

L- 4 oz baked chicken 1 cup broth

D- 6 oz lean pork finger ribs basted in Boom Boom sauce

1 gallon of water, 3 celsius **** i really did want to eat more but I was very very busy

Progress as of today: 72.7 lbs lost so far, only 4.3 lbs to go!

selina on 10/09/2010:
Have a great Weekend, V!

Maria7 on 10/09/2010:
Hope you are feeling better.

sweetpea1977 on 10/09/2010:
Wow, sorry about your friend. I had to go to the hospital for chest pains back in July 2006. I was worried I was having heart attack, but it turns out it was severe anxiety. They just prescribed me Zanex and to use it anytime I felt that pain. I found out later that my sister was having a personal crisis at the same time my attack happened. Have you heard of the stories of twins who experience pain/sad/etc when the other one is suffering from pain/sad/etc, even when they're miles apart? Thats how me and my sis are even though we're not twins. So anytime I feel a negative emotion, I have this urge to call my sis to make sure she is ok. Weird, huh?

Anyway, I hope you get some rest after your long exhausting night. Have a good weekend!

sweetpea1977 on 10/09/2010:
Thanks for the wine tip!

KathyBlue on 10/09/2010:
your friend is accelerated, well... two jobs.. now that's something, at 23 yrs. And about the ladies passing out - what do you serve at the bar, again??? :)

skinnygrlwithin on 10/09/2010:
I'm really sorry to hear about Val, I can understand the stress she is under though, and while you're in that mode you think you can handle the world and don't accept help, but maybe if you can get her to slow down just for a day or two she'll realize how fast her life is moving... I'm glad your crazy evening is over with though

hollybelle on 10/09/2010:
Hope Val slows down some and listens to her wise Miss V before her health does it for her! Can't wait to hear the Jax story!

just42day on 10/09/2010:
So sorry that your evening was so action packed with medical dramas. I do hope everyone is alright. 23 is waaaay to young for someone to have chest pains. Probably stress related but still. What do I know? I'm not a doctor (and I don't even play one on TV). Am looking forward to hearing about the JaxsExtravaganza!

KathyBlue on 10/09/2010:
ahhh, tried to call ya but no answer. I think it's 1.43 PM there, but here it's almost 7 PM and I have to go home, before my man decapitates me like Duncan McLeod did with the long, black haired dude with a really sexy voice, lololol...

moogy on 10/09/2010:
It is so lovely to work so near the soothing sound of the waves rolling onto the pristine beach!!!!!!! I hate alcohol, for exactly those reasons, ugly people!! Doesn't matter how pretty or handsome a person is, when they are drunk - they are ugly!! I hope your friend finds out what is wrong with her, that doesn't sound right! Catch you later, when you finally get to have some time and rest:)

moogy on 10/09/2010:
Your friend doesn't deserve you!! Nuff said!!

KathyBlue on 10/10/2010:
Love is blind... I had the same feeling towards a drinking loser and I was maadly in love with him. First crush, etc... but then again, how old was I ... fourteen! :) anyways, in these questions reasoning doesn't help, it's all chemistry. After a certain time Jax will realize that it was better like this, I mean the guy wasn't that interested.

KathyBlue on 10/10/2010:
I just read that 1 hour of tennis burns an amount of calorie equal to 1.8x (Grande Starbucks Caffe Latte - Made with whole milk)

nita51 on 10/10/2010:
Glad to hear that Val got better. I guess Jaxs made her bed, and ended up having to sleep in it ( alone ) Boyfriend bought me a very beautiful, tall statue of an African woman. She wearing real hooped earrings, with a multi colored, glittering dress & head wrap. Very lovely. Totally took my mind off, the hair dye incident. LOL - Take Care

just42day on 10/10/2010:
So sorry about Jax's desperation and resulting disappointment. Even more sorry about Jim's situation. Years ago I was involved w/a raging alcoholic for way too many years. (how he managed to continue to make a decent living is beyond me.) Took me forever to finally leave him but I did. Had to remind myself of a very simple concept: If you go to the same store and it never has what you want, why keep going back to that store looking for the same thing. the store will never have it. Same with some men. 'Nuf said. So much for my words of wisdom.... :)

just42day on 10/10/2010:
As always, thanks so much for your encouragement and support. Really appreciate you taking the time to send me a comment! Enjoy your Sunday!

just42day on 10/10/2010:
Jim's situation is so sad. My best friend is an alcoholic who's been in recovery for over 30 years. Amazing woman. I first met her after she'd been in recovery for several years. She still attends AA meetings religiously and is the kindest person I ever met. (She's flirting w/sainthood in my book.) She's a testament that changes can be made but, obviously, the person needs to want to change and be committed to it. Truly hope Jim will reach that point before further damage is done. :)

hollybelle on 10/10/2010:
We can't save our friends from THEMSELVES can we? It's sad.

hopingforhealth on 10/10/2010:
Man, what craziness! I hope Val is feeling better and gets to have some rest soon. That's pretty scary!

Really lame about Jax's reason to visit. What ever happened to "hos before bros" to switch the saying? I'm not too mad at her on your behalf though, because I feel bad for her. I wish I wasn't single, but I'd hate to be chasing someone around like that!

Godd morning ladies Funday Friday is here and of course I didn't manage my time well so i bid you a Wonderful day and weekend!  I will post my menu later! Much love to you all

Umpqua on 10/08/2010:
Enjoying good food on the holidays is not optional for me. It is possible to control portions so we can sample a bit of everything without going overboard. But yeah, I don't plan on losing anything much between November and December :P Mid-January will mark one year since my surgery. If I can be at or close to goal by then I will be a happy camper. Hope you have an excellent day!

balloonlady on 10/08/2010:
Happy Friday : )

skinnygrlwithin on 10/08/2010:
Aaahh the weekend... now as a normal 9-5er I so appreciate the weekend, even though I won't have much of a chance to sleep iN!

hollybelle on 10/08/2010:
My oven has to be repaired Mnday - needs new element s watch for news of rib cooking after next weekend! It is still too hot here for anything that hearty, too. But once it gets cold for good - watch out! I don't cook much hot food in warm weather. Looking forward to vegetable soup and chili!

chidogs on 10/08/2010:
Take care and have a great day.

Hey there, AWESOME job with your 3 pound loss this week..congrats! Have a wonderful weekend =)

liza36 on 10/08/2010:
Hi V - thanks for asking about the stalker. He has gone away, thank goodness! I was holding off calling the police as long as I could, and I said that with the next phone call, that was it, I was calling. Well, he finally gave up, and so I didn't have to call the police. The whole experience freaked me out a bit, so I'm glad my ignoring him worked.

Have a great weekend!

moogy on 10/08/2010:
I suspected you might enjoy yourself last night V. The things we sacrifice for friends!!! At least you knew it was coming and tried to prepare for it. Catch you later my friend!!

Umpqua on 10/08/2010:
I just got your thank you card, so sweet of you. Funny because my 2 pieces of mail today were thank you cards (no junk, no bills - when does that EVER happen?) One from you, and one from the elderly couple across the street because I had baked them an apple buckle with some of the apples they gifted me. Hedwig, apples....it's all good!

nita51 on 10/08/2010:
Thank for the pep talk. Have a super weekend! xoxo

hopingforhealth on 10/08/2010:

Good morning Lovelies Well i am managing my time a little better! Even got a chance to watch the Louis V 360 fashion show a couple of timesIt is a must see!!!! MArc Jacobs is all about slinky sheer geishaish for the summer! I will post the link for the show  for those who want to see or you can get the feed via fb...

I am attempting to leave a little earlier, I always have to clean ALOT more after being off for the past 4 days(the rest of the crew isn't quite as meticulous as I am) OCD much! LOL

Well ladies i will catch up with you after my shift, MUCH LOVE

Good afternoon!!!!!! Work was great and the weather has finally cooled off!!! First time since May that I didn't sweat profusely Also the first day I went without the A/C YAYYYYY! I opened all of my windows and it is so nice to have a bit of freshness wafting throughout the house...The downside of this is the critters that somehow manage to get in through the screens....You know how big of a fraidycat i am when it comes to bugs....YUCKKY LOL

Had a really good workout today with Rich and i am super hungry so I am going to heat dinner up in the oven and read about what's going on in your lives.

A little update on my friend well she showed up at the bar today and the green palor is gone and she even had 1 of my crab traps, I think she is going to make it! LOL She wants to meet up later for drinks, she is headed back to ATL in the morning so I probably will...No worrie though I figured this would happen so i had an all protein day....like I said the other day the weight is history!!!!

Now Kathy you asked if i still planned on sticking around when i reach my goal and the answer is YOU BETCHA!!!!!!  This is the only place where I find peace, serenity, answers, suggestions, recipes and most imprtantly LOTS OF LOVE All of you ladies are rockstars!

B- 1 hard boiled egg white, 1/4 cup lf cottage cheese

just42day on 10/07/2010:
Have a great day! I'm so impressed with all the weight you've lost. You've certainly worked at it consistently so you SHOULD be duly rewarded. Congrats! :)

getmebackto150 on 10/07/2010:
have a great day!!!

KathyBlue on 10/07/2010:
exactly, that's the point! The package doesn't say explicitly if I have to add the product WHEN the water's boiling already or before! :( But yeah, I'll definitely try to do as you say, add more product and less water. Does it work with milk or better not pushing my luck? :) 72 lbs lost... I'm so amazed!!! :) I hope you continue with us even when those 4,3 lbs are gone for good... I cannot imagine life without you anymore, so you better behave and stay around!!!! :)

skinnygrlwithin on 10/07/2010:
Thank you for last night! I know I had a mini emotional overload/break down. Most of the time I'm much more put together and logical about this subject hahaha...

Umpqua on 10/07/2010:
Hope you have a great shift!

loveray on 10/07/2010:
marc jacobs! now youre speaking my language!! i am kinda struggling with the no coffee thing, but what can you do, right!! one day at a time. xo

hollybelle on 10/07/2010:
Thanks for the tips on the ribs (no pun intended!). I love ribs and usually make spare or babybacks, but I think I'll look at those country or finger ribs. It's easier to make them in the oven than on the grill. My recipe takes too long and has too much sugar in it! So I'm going to modify. Good ideas. You know, sometimes we just need the inspiration to start imagining new recipes. My g'mom taught me to cook so everything I make (and like best) is not very healthy - back in the day they worked hard on the farm and didn't have to worry about cholestrol or getting chubby! But I'm working on amending my recipes to be healthier. It's kind of a game.

sweetpea1977 on 10/07/2010:

I think that by next week you will have hit goal at the rate you have been going. I would take money on it if I was a betting woman!!

moogy on 10/07/2010:
I am so glad to read that you are staying with us. I am not sure how I would cope without my wingwoman. Thanks for the advice, I think I will give it one week more as I am - and then I'm going commando - LOL, low carb. How many carbs do you allow yourself? Or did before you started introducing a little more in to your diet.

sweetpea1977 on 10/07/2010:
Im ok. Could be better, but am thankful that things aren't worse. E playing outside with Daddy at moment so Im getting a mini-break in. I think I'll head upstairs in a bit, take out my contacts, and treat myself to a bubble bath. I also hope to dive back into my new book that my hubby got me last week. I just started it and I am already hooked!

Oh happy day, the AC is off! I remember how happy I would get when we finally got to turn off the AC when I lived in Gainesville. Fresh cool air is so much better than recirculated AC air. Enjoy!

sweetpea1977 on 10/07/2010:
PS. I stuck around when I reached goal back in 2006. I quickly learned that losing weight is the easy part and maintaining is the hardest part of this journey. I also learned that allowing myself to fluctuate no more than 5 pounds (above and below goal weight) was ok as it allowed me a little mental freedom from the scale (I continued to weigh in weekly). Anyway, posting here during maintenance helped me keep the weight off until I reached my ultimate goal of getting pregnant at a healthy weight in 2007! :)

hopingforhealth on 10/07/2010:
Hey V! Thanks for sticking around to check on me. I hope you have a great time with your friend; I'm glad she's recovered!

I am so glad to hear your sticking around! I had thought before "wow, V is practically at her goal! I'm excited for her, but I am sad she'll be gone!" so I am selfishly happy to see we won't be losing you.

Sofia on 10/07/2010:
I'm glad you're sticking around after you reach your goal, I really appreciate your comments and advice :)

lose4sure on 10/07/2010:
thanks for the link...since seeing Marc Jacobs in the last Harpers Bazaar magazine, he's lost a little luster. Rasty man!

skinnygrlwithin on 10/07/2010:
I'm so happy for cooler weather... but don't worry I'm right there with you when it comes to a major fear of critters ... I killed and wiped up the body of my first bug the other day... you have no idea what a big deal this is. I'm alway sso afraid of them... when other people are around I make them kill them and clean them up... or when I'm alone I trap them under a glass hahaha...(haven't done that one in awhile lol)...but the other day I just maned up and killed it myself haha!

I'm also really glad that you're staying on... I would be so sad to lose you after you reached your goal!!

Maria7 on 10/07/2010:
We are definitely having cooler weather here too and I am so glad! Even turned on the heat for a while this morning! :-)

nita51 on 10/08/2010:
Hey there sweet lady. I am a fraidy cat too, when it comes to anything crawly. Huh! disgusting! Hope you have yourself a nice Friday. Love Ya

KathyBlue on 10/08/2010:
Hey girlie girl :) I went to the post office today, bc yesterday I had a paper from them in my mailbox... :-) I always have some kind of stress at the post office really... Now the postman wrote your name on the paper as "To:"... They had: "From: Vanessa Branch" "To: Vanessa" ... and the lady didn't want to give me the box, she said, firm voice (like a math teacher, lol): "Who's Vanessa????" And I responded, Portuguese manner: "What do you have to do with that???" ... but then she figured it all out from the box, took its time... Well, state employees... *SIGH*... So, now that you've read all of these: I ABSOLUTELY LOOOOVE them all!!! :))) Thank you so much! :-))) I'm gonna make photos in each of them (I think they serve, except for 1, maybe that has to wait a bit more?! Have to try them on!) and will show you!!! Now you will have to pick up a mysterious package soon! :-o

Sounds like a good maintenence plan for me. My downfalls during maintenence were Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. I love holiday foods. Its my own fault though, because I am such a good cook. I guess thats why I allowed the range of fluctuations because for a long time I let the scale rule my life which made life very hard to enjoy. My goal was 150 and my low was 145, but my usual weight was 148. I think during the holidays, I only got up to 153, which was didnt take to long to get back off.

Im not sure what my goal weight will be after I have this baby. I think I will set mini goals and see how I feel as I reach them. After having Ethan, I did a lot more strength training than I ever did the first time around so I think I lost a lot more body fat the second time around and appeared as if I weighed less than I really did. I think my low before this baby was 165, so I'm thinking about doing 160 as my first goal and decide from there. At least my starting weight wont be as high as it was the very first time (208lbs). :)

I am reading Ken Follett's new book called Fall of Giants - Book One of the Century Trilogy. This trilogy is a historical fiction that covers the 20th century. Folletts other books that I really enjoyed was The Pillars of the Earth (set in England during the 1100's) and its sequel World Without End (set in England 2 centuries later). If you like reading about how life was like for common folks during different time periods, then you'll like all these books.

Another historical fiction author I like is Phillipa Gregory. The most famous one is called The Other Boleyn Girl, which was turned into a horrible movie a few years ago. I highly recommend her books if you enjoy learning what life was like for European royalty and commoners. :)

(Low Carb)
Weight: 154.3

Good morning ladies I hope all is well with everyone!!!! My night went really great I couldn't decide which one of my books i wanted to read first so I read the first 40 or so pages of Women Food and God and  I was a little shocked that it well it kinda bored me to sleep??????  I am not sure what I was expecting  and I will continue to read it with and open mind so far for me the jury is still out on this one...Those of you who have read it feel free to comment..

I also had the chance to read some of my other book as well.....As i suspected Jaxs was out with Jim and she contined to drunk dial me begging me to meet them out When i see her I will give her a big hug first AND THEN I am gonna strangle her!!!!

So I am super excited about the Dali!!!!! This will be my first time at the new location I also made plans for lunch at Central Ave Oyster bar  As some of you may know I love love love oysters! I can eat them right out of the shell with nothing on them...I am hoping Dexter is shucking today, all you have to do is smile, bat your eyelashes a bit chat him up and tadaaaaaaa neverending plate of them(of course we will leave him a fat tip as well) My plan is to have just oysters...Jaxs loves them too so we may do a few raw and some sort of baked ones...Selina they have an amazing wine list HOWEVER I plan to bring a few cans of Celsius with me to mix my Goose...Let's see if my planning ahead pays off! Well girls I must get going i will catch you later...Much Love to you

Hi!!!!! I am soooo glad to be home

I take you where we left off this morning....It wasn't a shocker to me that Jaxs had overslept thus missing the opportunity to have coffee and a little breakfast with the museum's curatorA bit dissapointing, for her I mean because I can do it anytime....SO we still did the guided tour with one of the tour guides....Jaxs was not feeling up to doing much in fact she spent the majority of her time there in the ladies room Well although it was hard to have sympathy for her because her wounds were totally self inflicted, I really felt bad because she was really looking forward to meeting the curator Moral of this story is don't go out over boozing the night before something that is truly important to you!!!! LOL

Meanwhile I thouroughly enjoyed it....All of my out of town guest request The Dali #1 on their must do list so I have been at least 10 times....What is truly interesting is I never had the same guide, which is cool because they all have their different takes on the paintings and different paintings are featured by all..

We went as planned to lunch and unfortunately she wasn't feeling any better...She did however tough it out but  it was apparent what she really needed was a few tylenol and a long long nap....I offered numerous times to leave but she really wanted to eat....Needless to say we paced the food out and it wasn't much help so we left....I feel horrible for her but she's 29 and knows better than to try to hang and match drink for drink with Val, Amber and Jim..She swears to never drink again!!!!! Yea we all heard that one before,LOL

just42day on 10/06/2010:
As always, thanks for your support and encouragement. I'm off into interview land. More later. :)

Umpqua on 10/06/2010:
Enjoy your oyster fest!

sweetpea1977 on 10/06/2010:
I am curious to know what others say about Women Food and God. I've picked it up a few times but have yet to purchase it!

BTW, when loveray said we talked about you at the retreat I assure you it was all good - "I wish she was here!", "she's awesome!", "she's a riot", and "she is such an inspiration" :)

Enjoy your oysters and your goose! ;-)

hollybelle on 10/06/2010:
Well, "drunk dial" is a new expression for me! I like that. Just hope none of my friends do it! Be quite assured that we did indeed wish you were at the Retreat with us! You seem to have more fun than anyone! I like that. I'm working on more fun!

crazy_fatty on 10/06/2010:
thanks :)

KathyBlue on 10/06/2010:
Central Ave Oyster Bar... now that sounds exotic, LOL! :) I'm sure you'll have a great time! We, Lionesses are great in creating an ambient :))) About tennis dude: I hope not. :-P

getmebackto150 on 10/06/2010:
sounds like you have a GREAT plan in place for your friend... Can't wait to hear all about how well you did!

hollybelle on 10/06/2010:
Greens recipe looks good. I do my the same way except with a bit of dried red pepper for heat (which I like) and some "ham" flavored seasoning for a little meat and smoke taste. Sometimes a little smoked paprika - just a tiny tiny bit! Greens are so good! I like red wine vinegar on mine. I want to know about those ribs, too!

legcramps on 10/06/2010:
I've never read that book, but I hate it when I start reading something i'm really looking forward to and realize it's boring as heck. Lunch sounds great! Have fun!

skinnygrlwithin on 10/06/2010:
Well I don't love oysters, but your enthusiasm towards them makes them sound yummy... haha... and good for you for planning ahead!!!

KathyBlue on 10/06/2010:
V, have you ever read : Anne of Green Gables ? :)

moogy on 10/06/2010:
Sounds like a great day V. Give me that girls number and I will do a number on her for you!!!!! My daughter loves Dali and had a magnificent necklace/peice designed by him, it's worth a fortune - to good to wear in fact!! Yes, I suspected that you would be a woman easily bored and distracted come to think of it!!! But we wouldn't trade that for all the spontaneously and flair:)

moogy on 10/06/2010:
I am sorry that your friend is throwing away her opportunities for special events and enjoying time with you. I feel like giving her a bit of a kick in the backside!! Doesn't she realise how special you are????

moogy on 10/06/2010:
If only you lived somewhere cool V. It would be a definite possiblity, unfortunately not even Dali would help me endure Florida's heat. Maybe I could come to Chicago for Christmas one year!!!!!

chidogs on 10/06/2010:
Sounds like you enjoyed your day anyway. Pity your friend didn't. Yeah, best to stay sober before something you really wanted to do. The oysters sound awesome, the baked ones anyway :). Take care!

moogy on 10/06/2010:
OH! perfect and I could get out of the heat of our January, now you have me thinking!!

hopingforhealth on 10/06/2010:
Yikes. Well, a lot of us have had that rotten morning after drinking; in college my friends would always mock me because I would groan that I longed for the sweet release of death. Perhaps that was slightly dramatic of me :P I feel bad for your friend, but at least it's the temporary kind of pain! I wish she had been more able to enjoy her time with you, since you don't always get to see her! I hope you at least got to enjoy your oysters more than her!

Umpqua on 10/06/2010:
Sorry your friend flaked out on you, but your lunch sounds amazing! Actually its the ahi tuna with wasabi that is making my mouth water. I don't have much experience with oysters and mussels but I like most fish and shellfish so I bet I would love 'em.

Forgive my ignorance, but is this a Salvador Dali museum? I've only recently gotten familiar with his work. Loveray talked about an exhibit in Atlanta and I actually saw billboards for it when driving through Sunday. I watched a movie about his life with that sparkly Twilight kid because it was instantly watchable on Netflix. It was interesting, would be nice to see some of his work.

Sofia on 10/06/2010:
I haven't been to the new location yet! How was it, did you like it? I'm super excited to go. I bet being hungover around Dali pieces makes a hangover way more intense, all the colors and movement and stuff. But when you're drunk, Dali probably makes the experience even stranger. Your lunch sounds wonderful! I'm personally not a fan of oysters, but that tuna sounds delish.

Umpqua on 10/06/2010:
Is that in Boston? I don't get up there very often, but I will file it away for a future trip. I'm going to Harford with hubby next weekend for dinner so maybe I'll be bold and have them as an appetizer. Got a book on Dali from the library and read up on his life and saw some of his work after watching that movie. I'd like to see more, I'll have to check out the website.

P.S. You have a couple of weird broken image links at the bottom of your entry that show your bud's e mail that you might want to get rid of. FYI!

loveray on 10/06/2010:
Brachs candy corn is gluten and dairy free - def not sugar free or low carb, but i think you could have a serving on halloween without gaining an ounce!! trust me, i was low carb forever and then i went off slowly and am maintaining with lots of different kinds of carbs:) can be done lovely lady!

skinnygrlwithin on 10/06/2010:
V you do not have to tell me.. I have already been there... countless tears over why I'm not good enough, pretty enough, skinny enough...those exact thoughts actually... I think that's part of the reason why I'm such a tough confident woman to this day ...because of all I went through with him... and I know the pain it causes...let me tell you, I have never felt pain like I have felt with this man... I've never not been able to hide my feelings until this man... I actually left my life (called off from work, skipped classes etc) to go up to his college and disappear from everyone because of the pain he caused... but reread that sentence, because it is accurate...when he caused me so much pain all I wanted was my best friend...all I wanted was the person I loved most in the world and it was him.. I left everything to go hide out with him, to talk with him, to be with him. I know strength is not the answer to this solution, because I've already tried strength... I've already tried toughing it out like I dont' give a ****, like I know I'm good enough, and I failed!!! HARD CORE!!! But I still find myself after all that, after all that pain in love with him. I've never met a man that I can have a conversation with like that, I've never met a man that is smart enough to hold his own against me, that challenges me and brings out my best... we connec in EVERY area, ALL the time, we have similar view points but are good at playing devils advocate to debate the opposite...our families get along, his family thinks I'm amazing... we are so comfortable with each other.. I know more about him than anyone one this planet and vis versa...even on his worst day, during our worst moment, I know I could leave my life in his hands, I know the world could crash around me and he would not falter, he would catch me if I needed him...if he knew I needed him. This time around....if there is ever is a "this time around" it'll take honesty, and love, and trust, and communication... because everything else is there.

God I reread what i just wrote to you... how do you have so much passion and love for one person and still not make it work... that has to work... a relationship like that... after ALL THESE YEARS...after ALL THESE MOMENTS... if all of that is still there... to know someone's emotions by a single word, or nod of the head, to feel calm by their mere presence, to feel like you're a better person because of influence, to find the best in yourself when they are around...that has to be the man you marry doesn't it? because how do you top that? Can you really say a little compromise on monogomey (long story) isnt' worth that love, that passion, that feeling, that connection??? Can you really compromise and accept ordinary over extraordinary???

skinnygrlwithin on 10/07/2010:
haha....sorry I went to bed!!! I know he sounds terrible, and while yea he and I have played our mind games in the past neither one of them play anymore... our relationship is kinda hard to explain... you kinda need to observe us to really understand us. As getmeback... he's a good man that loves me...he just has a problem...and to make our situation even worse over the years we've caused each other some serious serious pain. I love him, but most of the time I'm good at controlling it and being logical and reasonal...and even during the times that I'm not (like last night haha) he never really sees it. But my emotions are under control again haha.. and as much as I love him and know we have all this in common I still know that right now is not our time...if there ever even is a time for us...and I'm ok with that... it's not our time not for because of him but because of me.

(Low Carb)
Weight: 154.3

Good afternoon Lovelies Reporting live from Starbucks with breaking news.....I lost 3 lbs As I mentioned yesterday I started experimenting with more healthy carbs to my diet and I was buggin!!!!!!!!! I figure that I have to do it sooner than later and I am sure my body will tell me if it is good or bad....I guess it's good

Before my weigh in I went to Barnes and Noble to get a book or two...I always try to balance with something healthy, something educational and something sinful (not in the romance sense of the word).....I also picked up a copy of to Kill A Mockingbird for my buddy Kathy I hope you enjoy it as much as i did!!!!!  It was free so I am happy to oblige.

Well I must talk with you all later, Lots to do, so little time...Got my workout with the kissing bandit himself and my friend that we threw the baby shower for had her precious little girl last night so you know Auntie has to take out a little time to see her....For her first baby she didn't do so bad only 2 hours of labor Much love to you

Home at last!!!!! Well I managed to get everything in with the exception of seeing the new mommy....I was greeted at the hospital by 6 other friends of hers whom were just leaving......Another one of her friends that I met at the shower was on the way up to see her as well...Long story short, we got up to her floor and seen how many people were still waiting to go in to see Jo and it was hilarious that we were thinking the same thing at the same time #1 thinking how overwhelming this all has to be for her and #2 Maybe we should leave a little note saying that we would return tommorow ....We did however get to see the little one via nursery She was perfect!!!!!!  The Dali museum is right down the street from the hospital so After Jaxs and I take the tour with the curator tomorrow we will attempt to visit again....

Got a really good workout today So now it's time for a little grub...I just wanted to say thank you all again for all your support!!! It means a The WORLD to me..The weight is almost history!!!!! I got this Ladies!!!!!!!! For me it mostly confronting my demons and finally putting them in perspective...

Sorry i never mean to give a soliloquy every freakin post BUT I do... man I am my mothers child(me thinks) LOL  Sorry guys give me a stage and i will act out a scene for you  Much love to you

Update******* Jaxs let me off the hook so I am in for the evening so I am more than stoked to relax and read my book......Hummmm My suspision is that she is going to hang with her (Florida Fling...AKA Jim my co worker)  What can I say we are a friendly group of people! LOL So YAYYYYYYY and Good night

Wow three pounds? That's awesome! I guess your experiment is working ;) Love that you got your workout in with the 'kissing bandit' himself LOL. Have a wonderful day today!

KathyBlue on 10/05/2010:
hummm, Starbucks has a scale now? :D Congrats my looovely friend, it's hilarious news! :) Ahh, now I'm speechless about the book, you treat me like if I were a little sister, hehehehe! I have to get you the "something sinful" part, though I'm really good at the "educational" book picks :-) Will send you a PVM on FB now, wanna share sg :)

crazy_fatty on 10/05/2010:
good job

skinnygrlwithin on 10/05/2010:
3 pounds!!! THAT'S AMAZING... what are these healthy carbs you speak of?? or are you just adding carbs back into your diet???

skinnygrlwithin on 10/05/2010:
3 pounds!!! THAT'S AMAZING... what are these healthy carbs you speak of?? or are you just adding carbs back into your diet???

chidogs on 10/05/2010:
That is so great! 3 pounds! Pat yourself on the back. You deserve any reward you want for that. Enjoy your day!

skinnygrlwithin on 10/05/2010:
Oh and in response to earlier... yea I plan on making a healthy soup for next week. I also bought my normal low calorie low carb wraps for sandwichs (which I'm totally ok with)... it's just the bread from the sandwiches before and the bread from the egg plant parm that I didn't want to go to waste from this weekend that I'm upset about. But after today the bars will be drastically cut down!! And yes there is a microwave here but no fridge so it kinda limits my options just a bit

selina on 10/05/2010:
Thanks for the recipe, will try and let you know. I love hot pepper, so I'll definetly use two of them! Congrats on the 3 lbs loss!

sweetpea1977 on 10/05/2010:
Wow, congrats on the huge loss!! You will be at your goal weight in a week or two. Amazing! :)

Umpqua on 10/05/2010:
Awesome news on your weight loss, and way to go with adding more carbs in. See, it can be done! I can't believe how close to goal you are, you go!!

hollybelle on 10/05/2010:
Look at you - 3 more pounds and only 4 more to go! WOW - I saw where you are adding the carbs back in - just go slow on those and I'll bet you'll see where the tipping point is. How Low Carb have you been doing? Ribs and Greens! You are talking my language! On the should I lie thingy the other day - no.

biscottibody59 on 10/05/2010:
Good job there!

I guess it could be a little dicey at this point getting back into the carbs. You can do it!

Not sure which website I mentioned to you re: today's comment to me. Enlighten me when you get the chance, please:-)

Sure I'll include what I'm eating in a future entry. Though I must say this past week--the latter part anyway--I've really been pushing the vegetables and cutting back on protein compared to usual. Tried as much as possible to cut fat as well.

just42day on 10/05/2010:
As you can tell, we're all insanely jealous of your 3 lb weight loss. You deserve it as you're the one who did it! Congrats! My understand is that a 2 hour labor would be considered an appetizer....nothing like a full meal so congrats to your friend! :)

loveray on 10/05/2010:
hey lovely!! we missed you on the retreat and talked about you a lot:) believe it or not, he would prefer that i cut soy and gluten first and then work on the dairy. his choices for dairy are organic, FULL FAT! types and prefers cultured (ie yogurt and kefir). i am planning to keep yogurt and some dairy on my menu until i get the gluten, artificial sweetener, caffiene and soy under control - a lot to master!! his plans are based on the "Metabolic Typing Diet" - which includes a protein, fat and carb at every meal and snack. pretty much what i used to do when i was feeling great and feeling no dips in blood sugar. because i am not eating soy and wheat, i decided to add in fish to get the protein that i need...im gonna check it out!! xoxo

chidogs on 10/05/2010:
I appreciate the positive thoughts, thanks.

moogy on 10/05/2010:
Well done girlie, good news on the carb and weight loss front. Yay!! Working with the kissing bandit at least adds a little excitement thrown into the mix. Look out for dark corners!!!

nita51 on 10/05/2010:
Way to go! ( 3 loss ) Yea! You are really racking them back,,, the pounds that is, Read your comment and I really heard ya girl. I MUST keep my eye on the prize. Sent you my address today. Hope you have a nice evening you deserve it. xoxo

hopingforhealth on 10/05/2010:
Wow with the 3 pounds! Do it, girl! You are so so close to your goal. I'm excited for you.

Congrats to your friend. She's so lucky to have so many people so excited to see her. Any updates on the kissing bandit with your workout? Or no new developments.

hopingforhealth on 10/05/2010:
It was pretty good. It's from the Betty Crocker Vegetarian Cooking cookbook. I can post it in the forum if you want?

sweetpea1977 on 10/05/2010:
No, never even got out the house since I was feeling off for most of the day. Nausea set in soon after I ate my guac snack. Ethan didnt start showing signs of fever until about 4pm. I gave him some baby motrin before bedtime to help him with his fever. Hopefully, he'll be back to his happy self tomorrow.

loveray on 10/05/2010:
you KNOW it was all good lady!! you are so sweet and cute, how could we say anything other than good?

Umpqua on 10/05/2010:
I like your suggestion for the grits. As I said, I have no clue what to do with them! Mixing with scrambled eggs and turkey bacon sounds yummo to me. They are indeed the old fashioned white grits. I wonder if they boys would eat them too - they eat scramble eggs. Hmm....hope you have a great evening out!

hopingforhealth on 10/05/2010:
Craziness! Thanks for the update. Where is he leaving for? He may be a floozy, but he clearly has good taste!

I posted the recipe on the forum. Enjoy it if you make it!

breakaway on 10/05/2010:
Wow ur doing so great! Good job today :) can't wait to see u hit your goal :D

Horn_Of_Plenty on 10/05/2010:
haha, lately all the book i pickup are for total enjoyment, rather than any learning. but, i do try to choose new books, so that at least some of them may be on NY TIMES bestseller list and i can MAYBE discuss them or recommend them to others.

congrats on your 3 lb loss amazing! and the birth of your friend's baby, that is exciting for sure.

i do sorta live near chinatown. I also live near flushing, another very asian inspired area. you're right...i should go there and pick stuff up. but you know, even most of the markets by me have a LOT of brands...so for now i'm gonna stick around here...but that was a good suggestion! and if i am around there, perhaps i will make a few purchases.

i am trying to do a little cooking while i have the time. I cooked so much the other day, i have SO MANY leftovers. the stir fry and broccoli is good...the spinach and noodle dish not as much.

justine on 10/05/2010:
3 pounds, you go girl! you must feel so proud!

thank you so, so much for your kind words and hope things keep going so well!

sweetpea1977 on 10/05/2010:
I ate a little something. :)

BTW, I saw your grits discussion with Umpqua and had to tell her about the ways I and other folks I know enjoy them. Check it out and let me know what you think. I swear, if I had some grits I'd make a huge batch for me to enjoy the next few days. LOVE THEM!!

(Low Carb)
Weight: 157.3

Good morning lovely girls Well of course I slept in a little later due to my Hitchcock marathon so i must post and get back to all later...Along with the laundry, groceries, gym, maybe tan(oh wait I am already tan) I am have to go pay my bills, It is funny that I chose not to pay on line because of the extra fees, The fees are so minute however i would rather save that extra for me!!!! LOL I look forward to hearing abot the retreat...Well i will talk to everyone later. Much love to you

I 'm baaaaack! man hats off to all you girls who have a family, how you ever have enough time in the day to get it all in well it impresses me..I had a good day and should be prepping my foods for the week but I am waiting for my floors to dry so I  thought I  might as well post....I got some really good deals today at the grocer and at Payless Now normally I buy those Sketchers shape ups for work $125 a little steep but when standing on your feet all day it is a very wise investment....My friend who also has a pair told me about the Payless brand of shapeups by Champion for a mere $39 and she swears that they are just as comfy as the expensive one so i gave it a shot...Well they were on sale for $ 34 and with their bogoho I also got a purse for $9... Not bad for huh?? I managed to resist buying something at Macy's that I really wanted but not nessisarily needed...I am really working on not giving in to my obsessive spending.

I got my workout in well half of it anyways still gotta do abs...I think i will do the rest of my cleaning in the morning since I got the bath kitchen and living room done...Thank goodness my gym/guest bedroom/VIP room is always clean...I am trying to do a little "surface cleaning before Jaxs comes, although she could care less if i cleaned, i just wanna organize my chaos a bit...No matter how hard I try my bedroom has clothes everywhere and I just might have to keep the doors closed!!!! LOL

So I am a little antsy/anxious about my weigh in because I have been slowly adding a little more carbs to my menu...I am a little more than apprehensive about doing so after going without for such a long time but it is a reality that I have to face...So wish me luck tomorrow ladies Well I will read and respond to all I think the floor should be dry???

Happy monday : ) and I don't think hubby has ever watched a football game, he is more the Techie/Gamer type. His man cave is full of games and junk, he has a giant upright arcade machine that has over 400,000 video games that he doesnt even play anymore, I would love to have a garage sale...lol

Thanks for the comments, V - I had to laugh about your question about my HAIR. I actually forgot my hair dryer and decided to just let it go since we were hiking, sweating and I'd rather spend time with people than the mirror. I have always worn my hair short. I let it go "natural" (gray) about a year and a half ago. It still seems odd that I have gray hair, but I don't miss coloring it at all! I usually like some height in the crown, but othr than that - the less the better as I have better things to do than fix my hair. If you are considering a short do - look at one of the new ones that are short but sort of have a long sides/front. Those seem very trendy and look easy to care for. Life is so much more enjoyable when there is less hair to "do"! Althought my d tells me it's easy to have long hair when you like to wear it up, too! ;o)

Im feeling pretty good. I didnt have much nausea over the weekend. When I did, it went away as soon as I ate or drank something. I tend to be way more sensitive when pregnant. I cry a lot and most of the time I dont even know why, lol. Hormones are raging!!

Hope you're having a great day!

just42day on 10/04/2010:
Congrats on the bargains. I love getting deals! I have a fabulous "cleaning" tale for you. Years (and years and years...) ago while in grad school I had a super neat roommate. She actually organized her "day of the week" underwear - honestly! Long story short: our apartment was broken into. Police said my bedroom was ransacked but I had to tell them --"no, that's pretty much the way I left it". To everyone's relief, I'm much, much, MUCH neater these days! :)

Umpqua on 10/04/2010:
I love Sketchers. Have had their combat boots and now have a great pair of flats that are good for dress up as well as serious walking.

As for the carbs, one of the things I realized on our retreat is that I'm slowly developing a relationship with carbs again :) The weight comes off much faster when I am low carb-ing it, but I am still able to lose weight while taking in good carbs and this is encouraging. I think the key is what kind of carbs you take in and when you take them in. Earlier in the day is better for me, but I've been having sushi for dinner (with the dreaded white rice) to no ill effect. It CAN be done, it's just all about moderation and making good choices. Hope you have a great evening!

just42day on 10/04/2010:
I'm ALWAYS proud of you - you're strong, determined, witty and intelligent. What's not to love?? RE: neatness - I really am 1000% better these days - still not a neat nik but much, much better. The health department no longer looms. (In my youth, I also accidently started a fire IN the oven. Just preheated the oven but forgot I "hid" all the dirty plastic ware in there before company arrived.....Yes, I was quite the charmer!)

hopingforhealth on 10/04/2010:
Ha. I hope you enjoyed the Hitchcock marathon! What's your favorite? I haven't seen all of them, but I love Rear Window!

Sounds like you had a fun and productive day! I am going to keep my fingers crossed for your weigh in.

Maria7 on 10/04/2010:
That was SO FUNNY about the Santa alligator that I read it to my Hubby and we both laughed! ehehhehe! Yes, Mom told me today that orange is her favorite color. She just 'happened' to tell me that while she happily painted her fingernails orange! And that is really something that she told me that the same day that you asked me that....(hummmmmmm)! :-D Oh, GIRL YOU ARE STRONG about that peanut butter deal! I absolutely can NOT have pb in the house...it is a BIG TRIGGER for a pb binge, love it SO MUCH! I think you will do REAL GOOD tomorrow on your weigh in! :-D

Umpqua on 10/04/2010:
We have a Sketchers outlet, although it is a decent drive away. Where my SIL lives though.

I think I can understand being hesitant to add the carbs back. It's got to be a slow process for you and you just have to see what works for you. Whole grains in small portions earlier in the day will probably work better. I just picked up some grits on the trip that I'm going to try for breakfast. I have ZERO experience with them and they're hard to find up here so it's a bit of a treat!

Haha on noticing my "red" hair! I've been trying to change my dark brown hair color ever since my first pregnancy. Prior to that I could easily use a box to change it to light red or even a dark blonde. Since my hormones changed with pregnancy it has been as dark as ever and is totally resistant to color. Anyway, after repeating attempts it is finally starting to pick up a bit of color and that picture captures it. One of the few positives for me in that pic, I just don't photograph well at all :P

KathyBlue on 10/05/2010:
You're doing great, V, you don't have to worry at all. ;-) As for the PB - yeah, now that's something very hard to resist. Thank God it's not in the everyday life here in Europe (maybe UK?), PB is kinda "gourmet" here, like 5 euros a jar. I tried crunchy once, and I never wanted anything else after that. LOL... I always had it at home. But then again, my portion control sucks so... it's better not having it at all.

nita51 on 10/05/2010:
Have a nice Tuesday! Hugs

skinnygrlwithin on 10/05/2010:
I have to agree with you about the cooking lunch thing... I plan on making a soup this weekend that is very healthy ad high in protein for next week. After today though I will be bringing sandwiches but with my low carb low calorie wrap and I'm happy with that because right now the only thing that bothered me about my lunch before was the high carbs/calories in thebread I was using.

selina on 10/05/2010:
I love collard greens! I haven't eaten sauteed collard in a loooong time - you gave me the idea of getting some at the grocery store next time I go there! You are so right about red wine, it can be a stinker in the ongoing success of a diet. I shall take your excellent suggestion and say NO, NO, NO to red wine until I lose the weight. Thanks! Have a great day!

(Low Carb)
Weight: 157.3

Good afternoon Divas  Just had a wonderful nap and now I am ready for some football!!!!!  I had my evening of fun last night so I don't trust myself to go watch the games at the Oasis( other bar where Val works) Because drinks magically appear in front of you whether you like it or not! LOL SO  I am gonna watch the games here....

Last night  I was truly stunned when a girl whom I haven't seen in a while walks up to me and says " man skinny how much do you weigh now 130?" At first I was taken off guard that she would be so bold as to ask such a personal question as to reveal my weight to a bar of people....And then I rewound to the part where she thought I weighed 130 SO I quickly replied I weigh almost 70 lbs less than I did...Well girls for those of you who aren't football fans Splendor in the Grass is showing on TMC AND To kill a Mockingbird  later on this evening! I love the Turner classics, except the cowboy movies Much love to you beauties

Totally have been enjoying my day of football!!!! Lots of upsets today, well  I am not doing so well in my picks this week As long as my Bears win tonight (kick off in 8 mins) All will be right in my world LOL...Well I will read and respond to all now or after the game.....Oh for Umpqua and all my other fellow horror buffs, HBO Signature is showing Psycho's 1 2 and 3 starting at 11 tonite!!!!!  Can't wait!!!! Much love to you all

B- starbucks, 2 mini plums

L- 4 egg whites scrambled with broccoli, onion, yellow peppers and ff cheddar

D-6 oz baked skinless chicken breast, 1 cup ff low sod chix broth, 3 broccoli spears, 1/2 cucumber with  red vin

1 gallon water and perhaps some more coffee since I will be watching horror all night anyways, lol

Progress as of today: 69.7 lbs lost so far, only 7.3 lbs to go!

Hey, smart move staying away from the danger of uninvited free beverages! Have a great day.

just42day on 10/03/2010:
While it was tacky for the woman to identify a specific weight, it still must feel great that others have noticed how much weight you have lost!

hopingforhealth on 10/03/2010:
It's awesome that she noticed the loss, but not awesome how she asked! I would've been annoyed despite the compliment-ish part. Meanwhile, at least you know you're looking good ;)

So jealous! I love old movies, but TMC isn't a part of my cable package where I live now. It's one of the channels I miss the most!

moogy on 10/03/2010:
I hope you enjoy the football. My husbands Aussie Rules team just won the Grand Final this weekend after the game was drawn last weekend and he had flown down to see it in Melbourne. So dissaponting for the fans and the teams. But yay, they won in the rematch. He is heading to Florida for four weeks this week as the head office of the company he works for is there (Kellstrom - aviation logistics). I am always releived when he is out of the country because I don't have to have that horrible/wonderful chance of seeing him when he comes to visit the grandchildren. Have an enjoyable evening and an undisturbed night's sleep:)

getmebackto150 on 10/03/2010:
Glad to hear that you had fun last night... and I'd take it as a compliment what the girl said!! Enjoy sunday and the football!!!

skinnygrlwithin on 10/03/2010:
I would definitely find it to be a compliment...it's always exciting when peopl enotice that you lost weight... I am a football girl however my team is only on direct tv and therefore will not be watching it this afternoon. As for the crazy woman that thinks I hit her car...there wasn't even any damage!! I don't even know what she's talking about.

balloonlady on 10/03/2010:
enjoy them games, I used to watch at least 3 a weekend,,,, then I married an entertainer....lol oh well : ) a 130 compliment, priceless.... you go girl : ) as far as the butter, I have no clue, In my mind i saw a big ball of crisco dipped in batter and got a little sick to my stomach...lol only here in the mid-west

breakaway on 10/03/2010:
What I need is how many days you exercise, how tall you are, and your exact weight right now. If you want you can email it to me at ww@jaegerweb.com :D Thanks! Otherwise if I don't hear back from you tonight there is a website at the bottom left of the spreadsheet where you can go and add your own info once you get it. Either way you want to do it is fine. Hubby said he can add all the info for you if you want, it's not trouble.

skinnygrlwithin on 10/03/2010:
I just threw out the package but I will see if I can look them up online... they are some organic brand with a bunch of different flavors like spinach and feta, buffalo, etc... the cajun is pretty good but I think my fav so far is the buffalo!! And no I'm a Colts fan...but the Jets kicked some serious ass today

moogy on 10/03/2010:
Bubble and Squeak is an English dish made by using left over vegies. I make mine using potato, cabbage (that's the squeak) and pea. You just mash them together a bit and brown in a frypan. Serve with an egg - because it's meatless monday. It's called bubble and squeak because the mixture bubbles in the frypan (they used to make it with lots of bacon fat) and squeak because of the sound the cabbage makes when it fries. See, don't you feel much more informed now!!!???

moogy on 10/03/2010:
Oh, and a ginger kiss is a weight watchers snack bar, it's a (I am reading from the package) lightly spiced muffin bar with a creamy centre, very high in fibre. They are nice, but not so nice that I have to have more than one. There you go!!

skinnygrlwithin on 10/03/2010:
haha...I don't know if it's a great story... but it was a few years ago the Colts were playing the Patriots to go to the super bowl and it was the most amazing game I had ever seen (minus the Fiesta Bowl with Boysee (can't spell) State when they did the hook and ladder to win the game... AMAZING GAME)... and the Colts just played with such skill and passion... ever since than I was hooked. I have always liked football...but until that game I had never had a "team"... who is your team?

skinnygrlwithin on 10/03/2010:
As for where i get those Turkey Sausage ... I get it at Price Chopper...which is our regular grocery store... when I lived in Boston and had a Stop n Shop I never saw them there... I've actually never seen this brand anywhere else...but who knows if I was actually looking for them... I just know Stop n Shop didnt have them because I'm a big fan of a good turkey sausage and they only had one kind that was not that good...

skinnygrlwithin on 10/03/2010:
haha ok one more post.. I just saw you're a Bears fan... I think that's who the Colts played in the above referenced super bowl game i mentioned haha.. and while i normally would be voting for the bears they are playing the Giants and I must be faithful to New York in this situation haha...i voted for them last week if it makes you feel any better lol

skinnygrlwithin on 10/03/2010:
the name of those sausages are bilinski's

Have you been to the new Tampa museum of art? I haven't, which is strange because I really am an art person. Sigh, maybe some day. Hope you have fun on wednesday!

Hi V! Re. Love life entry yesterday: you can't possibly get married with Ray if you feel this way about him at this point in your lives as a couple. Imagine a lifetime with someone whose behaviour turns you off at this stage... Look around a bit longer, my friend! The fish guy is spontaneous and I like that in people. And there is the added benefit that he is cute. ;) Have a great weekend!

You're sooo right, my darleeeen :))) The huge, 64 clothes are a MUST NOT keep category for me. I cannot "afford" to gain this much weight in the future, if I want to keep a quality life - because of my spine, and hey, because of everything!

biscottibody59 on 10/01/2010:
Thanks for your lovely comments--I soo appreciate them!

Wish I could say that I was cutting back on coffee for some noble reason--I kinda don't think it's gonna make all that much difference for any other thing but my sleep and sometimes that's just a tough nut no matter what I've eaten or drunk (or not).

Coffee has been my constant companion for over 30 years--hard to just leave it by the side of the road in any way, shape or form!

Good luck with your love life--there's a bit of an ick factor when people use their children in that way. Follow your mind and heart as best you can--you'll make the right decision.

Have a good one!

So I just read your situation from yesterday... and YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY NOT being too sensitive... I just left a situation like that. I always got texts or IMs or whatever else telling me that he loved and missed me and he was such a push over. I realize now at the end of the relationship I know so little about him because he just did whatever I wanted to do, and whenever I asked him what he wanted to do he would reply "I just want to make you happy so whatever you want to do." I lied during the relationship and said sweet things but definitely didn't mean them, and realize now I definitely shouldn't have said them. But I am making this statement coming from a relationship that was not meant to be, and I honestly wasn't very happy in. If you asked me if my previous ex (LONG STORY) said he missed me and in my head I was thinking that I hadn't even though of him would I lie... ABSOLUTELY.. because I love him and would say it to make him happy... a mini white lie doesn't do any harm because the emotions and love are there to back it up...but if they aren't and he does this all the time, and you feel like this all the time.. like my last relationship don't lie and get out now!

I'm too practical to wear 5 inch heals at this stage in my life. Maybe, 3 inch heals is my limit, ha! In fact, the only time I put up with them was in my late teens and early twenties. I do find them gorgeous, though! Enjoy! I can't help it but equate them with the ancient Chinese practice of binding feet (yikes) - both are painful and the ultimate objective is to attract men...

Your food sounds unbelievably yummy! Have a great weekend!
