"The only way you get that fat off is to eat less and exercise more."
Jack LaLanne
RIP ♥

Good Morning ladies!!! Beautiful day here and I intend to enjoy while I can since it is going to be brief as the metorologists says here! Other than the usual GTL, I also have a "playdate" with Allison and Nicholas today!!! Tracy has to work tonight and needs someone to watch the kids until her husband gets home from work so I am all over it! I am going to get a good workout over there because all they ever want to do is play tag and of course I am always"it" LOL!!!! Well I am going to get moving soon doing the laundry first before my walk and gym  so I will talk to you beauties in a bit

Tracy is so awesome! She's called to tell me I could do laundry at her place! She shoots, she scores!!! I get to hang out and play fun games AND wash my clothes for free???? I think I am getting the better end of this deal, life couldn't be much sweeter! It's the little things in life that makes me a happy camper

She's baaack! In one piece might I add! Those kids have sooo much energy whew! LOl I even had an extra added bonus to see my Goddaughter,as well Alexis ! I haven't seen her in a while(long story will save for fb) But as soon as I walked in the door with laundry in hand Allison says"You are moving in with us??This is the best day EVER!" LOL  As I explained that I was merely doing laundry because I didn't have a washer dryer at my house...I did get my fair share of running playing tag....I even had a very captive audience for my imfamous death scene/soliloqy that I have been pefecting for years now,it is quite dramatic right up there with the greats...Although I packed  some lunch my play pals had way too much slated for a lunch break but I did at least get a chance to scarf down a BODB..I am still a bit hungry and I can't wait til dinner is done, so I am going to check out what is going on with you lovelies while it warms up....I hope everyone had a wonderful day, I sure did

B- Starbucks, 1 cameo apple banana oat date ball

L- Banana oat date ball, more coffee

D- Lean turkey mushroom veggie loaf with shroom gravy,  1/2 baked sweet potato, 1  1/2 cup romaine broccoli slaw mix, cucumber, red onions, orange peppers, 1oz sunflower kernels, 1oz ff feta, red wine vin, lemon wedge

1gallon water 1 celsius

Progress as of today: 94 lbs lost so far, only -2 lbs to go!

Umpqua on 01/24/2011:
Aw, have fun with the kiddies!

KathyBlue on 01/24/2011:
Not the same office... it's a completely different department, but same working hours (officially), same schedule (9 am to 6 pm, full time)... no collision expected, not professional level, nor personal! :) I'm positive here. :P Maybe one day you'll need a shovel, too! LOL and us, in Lisbon it never snows... and it snowed 4 years ago. Everyone went crazy, became admired and frenetic ... they rushed out to the streets partying in the snow... RIDICULOUS. As far as it concerns me, I'd be happy not to see snow never in my life again! :)

Have fun, babe!!!! LOVE YOU TOO!!! xoxo Kat

KathyBlue on 01/24/2011:
BTW, no package yet?? I'm getting seriously pissed. I received lots of envelopes on the 22nd January, FROM HUNGARY (normally they promise a 3-days delivery!), stamped on the 22nd December... I also have an other pending pack for Nita, since December. I'm pissed and desperate. There are things mean a lot to us and we don't want them to disappear. Sentimental value, once-in-a-lifetime thing... ya know.

emmy'smom-mom on 01/24/2011:
V, I'm a canadian trapped on a british island! My first crush was wayne gretzky ;)

tangalyn on 01/24/2011:
hope u have a great day

panda22 on 01/24/2011:
Yay for a playdate and getting to chase after kids today..that will DEFINITELY be a workout! Hope you have a fun day and that the weather stays nice for longer than those weather guys say it will....they are infamous for being wrong on occasion ya know ;)...today would be a good day for that! Enjoy!

getmebackto150 on 01/24/2011:
have fun with the play date!! Also enjoy the nice weather while it lasts! I can't wait until we get some of that up here!!!

panda22 on 01/24/2011:
Too cool! Looks like very nice weather where you are right now =) I'm glad you have good weathermen lol ours on the other hand aren't very reliable. They tend to get us freaked out about massive amounts of snow "an impending blizzard..yadda yadda yadda"..and then you wake up in the morning and not a darn thing so the town was in a state of emergency for nothing lol.

getmebackto150 on 01/24/2011:
thanks for the comment... I do know all these things, I was just feeling REALLY low last night... Things do look a little better from my perspective this AM... I do have a skinny picture on my fridge as motivation...LOL... I just need to start LOOKING at it again every time I want to open the fridge!

KathyBlue on 01/24/2011:
I just never ever needed to send anything registered like that (w/ tracking no.) though they say overseas mailing is riskier than inside Europe... I am going to send you again, this time w/ tracking, then... as for Nita, I can't. :-(

KathyBlue on 01/24/2011:
hehehe nice attempt but it just didn't make any sense!!! :-o HEHEHE :-)))

xoxo :D

KathyBlue on 01/24/2011:
Hungarian is a tricky language :D

KathyBlue on 01/24/2011:
I will... as soon as you tell me what did you want to say, LOL :D

KathyBlue on 01/24/2011:
I said you must not worry about it if you are strapped(low on) cash:

Nem kell aggódnod ha nincs pénzed rá.

Hehe, expressions are harder to translate, I guess :)

Maria7 on 01/24/2011:
I know those kids are going to have fun with you! :-D

lifestylechange on 01/24/2011:
You sound like an awesome "babysitter"!! Those kids are lucky to have you! :) Have a great afternoon, HUGS!

sweetpea1977 on 01/24/2011:
Good work on the shopping V! I am cutting back on credit card spending and trying to use my debit card more. I try not to carry cash since cash = untraceable purchases of the naughty sort. I still have a soft spot for certain fast food meals - mainly chickfila, arby's and steak n shake. So, if I force myself to use my debit card I cant make any of those purchases since hubby can see my transactions online (I can see his too, dont worry!).

So sweet of you to think of me as a saving Goddess. I still have a way to go as I know people who MAKE money while buying stuff. Im just scared to overspend on things I dont need (which I think some of these "pros" do)!

Hope you're having a great time with the kiddos. Oh, and you cant beat free laundry!!

chidogs on 01/24/2011:
Sounds like a great day, and a productive one too, not to mention helping out with the kiddies. Have fun! Hugs.

Runforfun on 01/24/2011:
I love playing with kids!! :) Most of the time it's a very enjoyable exercise! :) I can see that you have an addiction to banana oat date balls like I have an addiction to popcorn and apples! ;) haha. Have a great day! :)

hopingforhealth on 01/24/2011:
Ha ha. Free laundry is the best ever, and so cute that she thought you were moving in! Thanks for the birthday wishes!

hopingforhealth on 01/24/2011:
"aunti bannessa" is the cutest thing ever :)

moogy on 01/24/2011:
Sounds like you are a little persons favourite plaything!! Thanks for checking in on my, I have a soliloquy of my own on my diary, sorry about that. But you know I need to get this stuff out. Love you.

Hi Sugar, Yes I agree with Jack LaLanne. " Eat less and exercise more " It's working for me. Slowly but surely. :)

Good morning Beauties Sunny day here and a bit chilly at 39 but I am still pretty stoked because Of DA BEARS vs Packers game this afternoon! It appears that I am not the only one all amped up as you can imagine!!!! My first call was at 4 am from my friends that are in Chicago already starting with the shennanagins and I am sure there will be more as the day progresses! LOL Well since I have a jump start to my day I might as well get my groceries done and yes this time I am going armed with my list so I won't stray from it.. After the stores I am going to walk up to Starbucks and stop next door at the health food store because I have been chugging that Cold stop tea like  maniac since the temps are all over the place so I just want to make sure I have extra help to fight off getting sick like everyone around me.

Off to read some Diaries and start my day

http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=5784132&id=115897014451

Back from shopping and afternoon walk! Shopping went well and I did not stray from the lists and even had enough money leftover from my shopping allowance to buy a pair of work shorts I meant to get a new pair since December because they were baggy back then and now I am at goal hopefully I won't have to buy another pair for a while...

Well I am off to watch some ESPN!!!! Sunday NFL countdown is on and an extra added bonus  is the NHL Hockey Philly vs Chicago! on NBC at the same time! Yep I am watching Both at the same time til 3pm kick off here!!! Wooohoo! Go Bears! Go Black Hawks! Any other Hockey fans out there???? ** CRICKETS** I know I had to ask! You never know For the record I am going with the Jets tonight, I think they might have a chance they just have to be consistent and not get intimidated in Steeler Nation! Not sure yet if i want to go out to watch the game yet, but I am getting calls here like crazy wanting to know what gives..LOL

My heart aches a little bit...Now as a true Chicago sports fan I am going to say that was a great game and the team that wanted it bad enough won! My hubby Urlacher played his heart out and I will console him later! Oh well as they say in the Windy City, next year....2 game starts in 7 minutes and as for me. Only time will heal my broken heart! LOL

I would NOT be cheerful if anyone called me at that time of the morning! I hope you enjoy your festivities today and good idea drinking that tea. I've been drinking lots of tea too. Have a good one!

Umpqua on 01/23/2011:
P.S. We were gifted a late holiday package of wasabi peanuts and chili lime peanuts on Friday. Yum!

Umpqua on 01/23/2011:
I was going to take a day off from making an entry today, but I just can't seem to stay away ;P Oh and I bet you will love the lavash bread. I snacked on 1/4 of one the other day with Jake, they are huge and go a long way. Mangia!

just42day on 01/23/2011:
re: bears vs. packers. I figure I "win" regardless of who wins the game. If the Pack wins, I can say I'm from WI (which I am); if the Bears win, I can say I live in IL (which I do). Win win for me. :)

getmebackto150 on 01/23/2011:
I'm rooting for pittsburg to take it all now that the patriots and falcons are out... But I will root for the bears today for you V! Have a good one!

chidogs on 01/23/2011:
Sounds like a great day, although I agree with Umpqua, a 4am call would make me nasty the rest of the day.:) Have a great one!

lifestylechange on 01/23/2011:
Love the photo!! Hope your team does well today... I'm rootin with ya'! :P Good idea on drinking the tea... :) Those dang colds are nasty!! Love ya' lady!

panda22 on 01/23/2011:
Sorry about your Bears girl =(.....at least you guys had a good season unlike my Redskins LOL...GO JETS for this game!!!!!

shadetree on 01/23/2011:
Hockey - most definitely! We get NHL Center Ice every year, hold season tix to the AHL team here. No such thing as too much hockey!(But I'm not thinking you'll like either of my two top teams....ummmm, dare I say that I am a WingNut, and having grown up in Philly, well, I'm also a Flyers fan....Don't hold it against me!)

Runforfun on 01/23/2011:
I went shopping tooo :) I love DA BEARS! Love Chicago! Favorite city in the world!! I'm sad they lost :( But I didn't watch it this one ... ooppps. What is a banana oat date ball? Sounds yummy!

Good morning beautiful ladies! I hope all is well in the DD world Yes it is very sunny although chilly here and it is certain that my bar will not be open outside yet AGAIN...I am not sure if they will need me inside or not but i am still going to prepare just in case....I am kinda hoping to work because I really want to check out the new Dali Museum and since that is considered a want(not a need) I really can't justify taking money out of the "rainy day/ bad weather fund" for that.....I am really doing a great job not dipping into the funds for just any reason, last year I was horrible with unnecessary spending..So I am thankful for that!  But you know how stir crazy I get(that's a shocker) LOL Well it is off to read a few diaries, Have a wonderful weekend just in case i didn't say it, much love to you all

LOL Well I did manage to save $30 at Walgreens and I really did need everything in the basket(well maybe not the salt and vinegar  and lime chili almonds) but they were on sale so I couldn't pass them up, also it is technically Loveray's fault because she said they were yummy and I had to see for myself! emmy'smom-mom on 01/22/2011:
Hi V, sounds like you've gained control in several areas of your life. I guess the gaining of self control and discipline is a skill that you can use for all parts of life. Yet another reason to get in control of heatly eating and a balance weight. It's a realisation/revelation a minute over here! lol

lifestylechange on 01/22/2011:
YAY to going to work:)) And you are doing awesome with your finances....such a tough situation to get a hold of (identifying between wants/needs)! You are a strong-willed woman whom I admire! Love ya sista!

I hope you get to work your shift today. I was telling Moogy I've been looking at menus for our trip to New Orleans and drooling over the entrees and desserts. We now have a reservation at Emeril's and there's another place near our hotel I want to check out. I can't do too much damage in 3 days, right? Right? Haha. Well, that's my final deadline for getting to goal, although I think I can do it before then. Have a good one!

emmy'smom-mom on 01/21/2011:
Surely the british tourists will still come outside on a day like that! They're used to it :)

tangalyn on 01/21/2011:
hope u have a great day V

panda22 on 01/21/2011:
LOL sorry I'd probably tell you if we actually HAD a name hahaha anyway the amount of snow is normal for our area...last year we had over 3 feet at one time in the crazy blizzard! We lived around Pensacola on the base since my dad was military...fun times lol. Sorry to hear about it being foggy and rainy...andddd about your mysteriously vanishing entry??? Have a great day!!!

sweetpea1977 on 01/21/2011:
I hurd!!! I've lived in Atlanta aka the ATL aka Hotlanta aka A-town for almost 11 years, so its only natural to become part of the culture and end up representin' tha Dirty Souf. Plus, a lot of the rap and r&b artists are from here so there are a LOT of radio stations that support that genre of music here. I go through phases of classic rock, alternative, classical, to rap and that was one of the songs I heard during my last rap phase. And it stuck with me because its such a stupid song!

I dont mind being stuck with you all day! :)

legcramps on 01/21/2011:
Those darn Vanishing Post Fairies.

legcramps on 01/21/2011:
I wanted to say more, but I hit Submit Comment before I realized what I was doing ;) I'm still waking up.

Well I hope you get to at least work inside today, we don't want you going stir-crazy although if we were stuck with you all day that'd be okay too :)

Have a gooder!

Umpqua on 01/21/2011:
Sorry your work got cancelled :( If Starbucks had shots we would all be in trouble! I have bookmarked Felix's, but it's going to take some convincing to get hubby there. If it's just drinks and appetizers I may be able to get him there LOL. It all looks YUMMY to me!

sweetpea1977 on 01/21/2011:
The sale started today and ends Wednesday night. I will be going there today to see which brews qualify for the sale and will report back to you. If you have a Walgreen's in your area, they also have SB on sale for $6.49...but they will probably be out of stock of it by now (their sale ends Saturday night).

Yea, I cry like a baby anytime I see my babies on the ultrasound screen. Its just a reminder of how precious and miraculous life really is. :)

sweetpea1977 on 01/21/2011:
BTW, do the bags of SB that you buy say that Starbucks will give you a free "tall" coffee if you bring in the empty bag? The offer expires 30 days after the "Best Before" date on the bag. I've never taken advantage of this offer, but may do so once I make coffee a full-time habit again. Its only a tall coffee, but hey you cant beat free right?? Of course, the baristas love you at your SB, so you may already get free coffee. BUT, if you go to a different SB where they dont know you, then thats where those empty bags come in handy. hehehe

sweetpea1977 on 01/21/2011:
lol at your whole last comment. I have a lot of friends who say that about Drake. :)!

sweetpea1977 on 01/21/2011:
PS. All this talk has inspired Ethan to go through my pantry and bring me all the bags of coffee I have in there. As he is handing them to me, he counts them. "1 coffee, 2 coffee, 3 coffee. THREE COFFEES Mommy!" The funny thing is that I havent mentioned the word coffee out loud....so he must know how to read my mind!

sweetpea1977 on 01/21/2011:
yea, he is pretty smart. Somehow, he already knows the difference between "left" and "right". We didnt teach him that! He recognizes a couple of words, but mostly focuses on the individual letters that make the words. Its amazing how much he absorbs from us and other people around him. He rocks!:)

panda22 on 01/21/2011:
Yep both hubby and I are military brats though my dad was in longer than his. It was hard growing up moving around but it's definitely prepared me for the life I'm living now! Ugh that drink was NASTY! and it was cold which made it kinda worse since I could feel it in my stomach afterwards. I got a headache from all the sugar and then once my body started to process it the lil guy was pinging off my belly walls! hahahaha

panda22 on 01/21/2011:
Lol that was the most boring hour of my life sitting there! I wish I had a better cell phone so I could have chatted on FB but my phone is very limited when it comes to internet and it takes forever to get messages/refresh my page haha. Well I was young when we lived there, but I liked Germany...I'd love to go back now! We have it on our "wish list" now lol If we did get it I think I might get freaked out though because as much as I'd like to go on an adventure like that I'd miss my family! Florida was fun but toooo many tornadoes for me! I remember my dad being at work and my mom loading us all into the bathtub (dogs and all) to wait for those loud sirens to stop. That mixed with the massive bugs made for an interesting childhood =P...We also have fam in Oregon and that is a BEAUTIFUL state...I love the west coast beaches ((even though they are COLD during summer lol)) and the lighthouses and such =)

sweetpea1977 on 01/21/2011:
lol, I was lots of fun in my college days. I've kinda mellowed out after becoming a mommy, but I do have a few surprises left in me!

Ok, Im finally getting ready to leave for the store. Wish me luck!!

Umpqua on 01/21/2011:
I better be careful to keep my celebrating in check tonight :P The concert we're going to is going to be a mellow, sit down kind of thing so I need to be careful not to fall asleep haha. I was actually thinking of getting a cappuccino at the concert place, but I'm afraid I'll be up all night if I do that. We'll see. Oh and I'm pretty psyched about my test, it seems this Esselstyn thing is working!

Runforfun on 01/21/2011:
Happy friday!! Glad you could find someone who likes greek yogurt! Haha

sweetpea1977 on 01/21/2011:
Ok, Im back from Publix! They had more variety of Starbucks coffee on sale than I had expected (Walgreens only had House Blend on their shelf). Sadly, Publix did not have my two favorites on sale (or they went of stock!) - Espresso and Pike's. But, I did get some Breakfast Blend, Organic Serena, and Caffe Verona. They also had Columbia blend, the Caramal fusion, and Vanilla fusion on sale. And you have a choice between ground or whole bean on most selections. Silly me only stopped at the endcap of an aisle, so I might have missed out on other varieties in the main coffee aisle. I plan on going back on Monday to stock up on fresh fruits, so I'll be sure to check to see whats left. :)

BTW, I bought a six pack of beer for my husband. The cashier looked at me as if I was ghetto...keepin' it real!! If I was barefoot, then he would have looked at me like a redneck. :)

Horn_Of_Plenty on 01/21/2011:
you know what coffee is good!?.... 7/11 has an AWESOME creamer in the flavor of pumpkin pie spice! so good in my coffee. usually i stay lean, fat free milk only usually, but this is a good change of pace!

Umpqua on 01/21/2011:
Thanks for the Tom Waits fix! Speaking of him and NOLA, have you seen Down By Law? Great movie. I don't know if I will have the willpower to resist the chips and salsa tonight. We usually refuse when they offer to refill the basket, that counts, right? I love tamales but I don't think this place has them anymore. Hubby likes the Trader Joe's green chili ones so we always have them in the freezer. I'm pretty good at resisting them at home.

moogy on 01/21/2011:
Yes, way to early, you will have to wait until six like a civilized person. Although living in Florida you can get away with anytime after 12 noon!!! Hope you find something you enjoy to do for the day. I am hunkering down in the airconditioning! Bah Humbug Summer!!

panda22 on 01/21/2011:
I didn't know she lived there, that's cool! We could be stationed anywhere technically....never know! If we do get FL I'll def let you know and be visiting...we could go out for some drinks since I probably won't be getting pregnant anymore after this for a long while if at all LOL. Hubby is AF just like most of our relatives have been/are. We come from a line of military members lol his grandpa was a Marine, mine was AF, one of his uncles is Navy, another was AF, my uncle was AF, aunt is Army, both our dads were AF...lol even the kids are following in the footsteps cuz 3 of our cousins are Army/AF and my sis is Army. Interesting family tree LOL now that we are having 2 boys it will probably continue if that's what they decide they want to do when they get older! I'll probably get extra gray hair if they were to join, but I won't stop them from following the path they want.

moogy on 01/21/2011:
Sorry V, I am afraid that I crashed in a screaming heap. I made, yes, made a caramel apple pie (this is how desperate I was, it wasn't even chocolate) and ate it. I am no longer in pain, just full and relieved. I seems strange to say but food is not my problem, it's my solution. All the other stuff I deal with is the problem. I do feel that I have let you down, but I really was getting to the point when it gets dangerous for me to keep feeling. I do get suicidal and I think that even you would recommend food rather than lots of pills!!!! It is like I hit a crisis point, so I will probably be better tomorrow. Sorry V.

Maria7 on 01/21/2011:
Hello, V. Are you doing the 'maintain' now or still going toward a lower goal? Wow, you are really something! You got down to business and now here you are at/close to GOAL!!! You stuck with it! Now...hang on to it, Friend. Cause as I guess you are realizing by now, maintaining goal is just as difficult as losing to goal! :-D

Weight: 133.0

Good Morning Divas Happy national coffee day!!! I have already had a cup, I really needed an extra jolt, because i didn't get much in the way of sleep....Well I got to bed fairly early for me(1 am ish) and I had a disturbing dream about those disgusting Palmetto bugs(ginormous flying roaches) It was so realistic that I was already in a full sprint to my front door before I realized that it was just a dream LOL

So I am sure you can understand why I couldn't fall right back to sleep right away to say the least, man my adrenaline was pumping!! I took advantage of this surge of energy and did some pull ups...After laying back down still unable to sleep I looked up my nightmare in my Jungian dream interpretaion book for some insight...Without going in to the long version of Jung's take, it said that "the agressive non- human element(the palmetto) in  the dream can be seen as my own unexpressed aggressions indicating the need to assert my true feelings" It also stated that "once I assert these agressions my dream images will become less threatening".....Things that make you go hummmm???? LOL

Well I am going to read a few diaries and head out to what might be my last shift for the week, as I stated yesterday it really doesn't look good for Saturday and now it is a 70% chance of rain tomorrow all afternoon Boooooo!!!!! Hey thank goodness that delete button at the bottom is gone, it will save most of us alot of grief hitting delete instead of submit Thanks Webmaster!!!

Hello girls! work was off the chain redonkulously busy! Thanks to the multiple conferences at the surrounding Hotels of course I handled it like a champ of course and Danimal did the best he could to keep up, and he is a great worker but extremely whiny, as most of my coworkers are when they are in the weeds! Now although weeded myself I took it as a challenge and stepped up to the plate...Those of you who know the feeling of being that busy knows not to stress because it only makes things a hell of a lot worse, LOL

Well i did manage to muster up enough energy to blow off some steam at the gym as well  I have been thought about the agression/dream interpretation and I think it has alot of truth to it....I sometimes rage for no apparent reason, I feel like and relate to Tattoo face at the gym and if I weren't so darn pretty I would be a cagefighter too!!! LOL Yep the dark side often beckons but I ignore it.. Seriously I am considering taking up boxing I think that might be just what i need to get it all out I guess that is why I talk/obsess about Fight Club,LOl  Well ladies I have dinner in the oven and I am going to catch up with all you lovelies right now

B- Starbucks, 1 pink lady apple, 1 banana oat date ball

L- 3oz lean turkey patty, 1 slice ff cheddar, lettuce grilled onions jalapenos

D-3 oz turkey mushroom veggie loaf, 1 baked sweet potato, nutmeg and cinnamon, 1 cup romaine and broccoli slaw mix, 1 oz ff feta, 1oz sunflower kernels, cucumbers red peppers, red wine vin, lemon wedge

1 gallon water, 2 celsius

The cancel button is back, Oh well! LOL

Progress as of today: 94 lbs lost so far, only -2 lbs to go!

emmy'smom-mom on 01/20/2011:
Have a great day v, hope the weather turns out ok tomorrow and saturday. I find being at work keeps me out of trouble! :)

emmy'smom-mom on 01/20/2011:
thanks sweets, what a star your turning out to be!

getmebackto150 on 01/20/2011:
ooh... not a fun dream... I will be hoping for good weather for you!!!

Umpqua on 01/20/2011:
Interesting interpretation that Jung has ;P Do you think you have suppressed aggressions lurking about? You seem like you do a good job of getting that out at the gym and verbally as needed. Maybe you're just afraid of little creepy crawly things (there's my 50-cent interpretation LOL). Have a great shift today!

sweetpea1977 on 01/20/2011:
Happy Coffee Day!

Thats an interesting dream analysis. Sounds like you need to get some express some anger about some negative feelings you have been keeping inside. Hmm...

Hope you have a good day!!

legcramps on 01/20/2011:
What a dream! I'd a been sprinting for the front door myself with a dream like that ;)

I didn't know it was national coffee day! I guess I should probably get myself another cup, then. Yes, definitely another cup - thanks for the heads up!!!

panda22 on 01/20/2011:
Thanks for the comment girl, it meant a lot to me to read that =) OMGGGGGG Palmetto bugs are SCARY! LOL I lived in FL when I was in Elementary School and remember those things...when they would get in the house they would camp out on the wall and stalk me when I got up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night....scarred for LIFE hahahahahaha. I hope you are able to express any feelings you need to... and stop having those crazy dreams lol. I didn't know it was Coffee Day...I'm so out of the loop =P Have a great one!!!

geevee on 01/20/2011:
I never saw your monthly weight averages until today, and am I IMPRESSED!WOW! You've done a fantastic job!

moogy on 01/20/2011:
I dread to think of what unexpressed agression you have inside you V. I always assumed you got it out when you felt it, mind you Jung was a bit of a wally!! All that penis envy stuff, come on, I mean, get over it fella!!

Runforfun on 01/20/2011:
I agree with geevee! I looked at that too! You are doing so good!

loveray on 01/20/2011:
oh no!! i missed celebrating national V day...I mean coffee day;) i did have an unusual amount this morning, so maybe i felt it intuitively. love you girl!

shadetree on 01/20/2011:
UGH! One of the only things I do NOT miss about living in the South is the palmetto bugs! I tried to explain to my husband, he just doesn't get it....Even my CAT was scared of them and would run from the room!

hopingforhealth on 01/20/2011:
Yikes! What an awful dream! I would wake up with the willies for sure!

Ha, yes I love (good) baklava! There is a turkish place near me that serves it. Oh man, I had never had real baklava until I had it there. Light as a feather! Ha, ha. It's so much easier for me to give up the booze than the food. I am a food-aholic. :)

moogy on 01/20/2011:
I am glad you are on my team. You sound like a good woman to have in a dark alley (well, that doesn't sound right does it?????)maybe in a tight squeeze (nope, that's not good either), lets just say if I was in a fight I would like you in it with me!!!! Dah Dah!! Got out of that one!! LOL

moogy on 01/20/2011:
She talks about anything that pops into her head, what she is thinking, planning, doing, being a princess I think she believes we are all vitally interested in her every thought.:)) I am not joking when I say that it is non-stop, never known a child like her. I can just see her school reports, Laura must curtail her chattering if she expects to make progress!! I think that she is in for a big shock when she realizes that there are lots of princesses in her class!!

chidogs on 01/20/2011:
Palmettos sound really nasty. I've seen some huge creepy bugs in the California deserts too, but I don't know what they are called. Hope you don't dream that one again!

sweetpea1977 on 01/20/2011:
I think that any of the martial arts or boxing would be a good fit for you. Im hoping to do some kickboxing classes and see where that leads me next. Right now, I cant imagine myself being a real a$$kicker but who knows. I do know that any of those options would be a great release for pent up anger and aggression, so I say go for it!!

Umpqua on 01/20/2011:
Have you read some Chuck Palahniuk? Fight Club, Choke, Diary, are all recommended.

sweetpea1977 on 01/20/2011:
I did some research on non-alcoholic beers and wines and they technically have a tiny bit of alcohol in them...like 0.5%. I didnt want to risk it, so I've avoided them as well. Not too much longer though...I have 4 bottles of red sitting in my bar waiting for us to share after baby Gangsta arrives. :)

Yea, Tattoo face sounds tough. Dont make out with him!

Love you!

Umpqua on 01/20/2011:
That's a very tough question. I read Fight Club after the other books and then watched the movie! He is a great author, yada yada. I'm going to go out on a limb and recommend Diary just for the heck of it. Great book about introspection and it sets the Palahniuk tone haha. Any would be good honestly, whatever is available. What's up with Tattoo Face? What did I miss??

chidogs on 01/20/2011:
Let's see a match up between your Palmettos and the Potato bugs I've seen out here. They are uuuuggggglllllyyyyyy.

sweetpea1977 on 01/20/2011:
Great, thanks to you, I now have that dumb "Im so Hood" song stuck in my head...perfect right before bedtime!!

I’m So Hood (Yeah) I Wear My Pants Below My Waist And I Never Dance When I’m In This Place Cause You And Your Man Is Plannin To Hate

(I’m So Hood) And I Got These Golds Up In My Mouth If You Get Closer To My House Then You Know What I’m Talking Bout

I’m Out The Hood And If You Feel Me Put Your Hands Up (hood) My Hood **** Can You Stand Up

(I’m So Hood) If You Not From Here You Can Walk It Out And You Not Hood If You Don’t Know What I’m Talkin Bout

There!! Now its stuck in your head too. :) Bwhahahaha Good night my lovely!!

sweetpea1977 on 01/20/2011:
BTW, how do I think anyway? (saw your comment about me on Umpqua's diary). I'm pretty sure I know what you're gonna say, but I want you to say it anyway! ;-)

Ok, Im really going to bed now. Sweet dreams! Seriously, sweet dreams...no more scary bugs and animals young lady! Are you watching the nature channel at bedtime or something???

xo

biscottibody59 on 01/20/2011:
That broccoli slaw mix is a winner--the bugs not so much--even in a dream for crying out loud:-)

KathyBlue on 01/21/2011:
buuuuuuugs, arrrrgh, I'd go mad. I hate bugs... so disgusting!!! boxing, huh?

KathyBlue on 01/21/2011:
ice-cream: not ben and jerry's. European ice-creams are more healthy, because they're not filled with other stuff (chocolates, caramels, etc.), they're normally plain, just for the taste of itself.

moogy on 01/19/2011:
Hope you had a good one V. Sunny days are sure to bring the punters out to hand over their cash to you.:) Later gater!

sweetpea1977 on 01/19/2011:
Glad you had a great day!!

Unfortunately, Creepy Gary knows my address (mails us a Christmas card every year) but I dont think he is brave enough to come see me. He is pretty weak and puny. I could easily kick his butt if necessary!

Anyway, thanks for the sweet comment regarding my conversation with Panda. I dont know about Panda but you've only known me as a pregnant chick, so you havent seen me at my most determined (unless you've read my old entries from Jan 2005-March 2007). I have had a lot of ups and downs since having Ethan, but knowing that Im going to be done having children after this one is born has renewed my motivation to a brand new level. I want to be a hot, happy, and healthy mom, wife, and sister! I want to set a good example for my boys and get them excited about fitness to a point that its just something natural for them. I have so many healthy ideas that I want to incorporate into my family's lifestyle once both boys are old enough to get involved. Just thinking about it brings tears of joy to my eyes. Im excited for my future!!

moogy on 01/19/2011:
Well, I know I may be a little biased but Austrlaian guys are so much fun and just out for a good time, open, friendly. Right up there with the Irish boys, I say!!

sweetpea1977 on 01/19/2011:
yea, it sounds like Panda reached and maintained her goal weight for a bit until getting pregnant in September. I didnt reach my pre-baby goal weight (150lbs) but got halfway there at 169. So, I will have my work cut out for me once this little one arrives. I will be doing lots of walking at first, just to get my body used to the idea of real exercise again. Then I will introduce some short sesssion of interval training and strength training and add in some group exercise classes later. I hope to be a gym junky by the time my birthday gets here! :)

biscottibody59 on 01/19/2011:
Looks like you more than made up for not having the Trenta as hot coffee size--gotta get your money's worth ya know! Hope the weather cooperates with your weekend--ours has been dreary as all get out for what seems like forever until yesterday!

Thanks for your flattering and thoughtful comments:-) I agree asking questions until you get what you need WHILE you are seeing the dr is just common sense--going in with a list is always a good idea too. If a dr is intimidated by that, then they're probably not for you. I wish you the best in finding a dr who's compatible with you AND your style!

Enjoy your evening!

sweetpea1977 on 01/19/2011:
lol, thats right boo! :-)

Good Morning ladies I hope all is well in the world of my favorite girls here! I am sooo amped for my walk today, not only because the lightning prevented me from from doing so yesterday it is also the debut of Starbucks "Trenta"!!!!!!! Yes!!!!! LOL I am sure some of you are thinking does V really need a quart of coffee per cup??? The answer is YES!!!! LOL very much so...I shall mark this  day down in my calendar this is going to be a splendid day!!!! I am not going to let  TOM who decided to do a sneak attack on me in the wee hours this morning with a vengance get to me today!!!! I was actually going to weigh myself today but i really don't see the point since I am feeling a little ick and bloated..I am really doing great not obsessing about numbers, so for now I think I should skip doing it today at least til  Tom is gone! Well girls I have a " coffee talk " with Val  in a few and the gym later so I hope to stop by to see how everyone is before I leave, if not, catch ya on the rebound

Hi girls I am back!!! what a gorgeous day it was here, I was so excited I got to Starbucks in 4 minutes!!! Now for the somewhat depressing news...Well it seems that SB forgot to put in the memo that the Trenta is only served with the iced coffees ONLY for now Yep little V tears of disappointment rolled down my face UNTIL I figured I would show them and refill my Venti 3 times!!!! They will not rain on my parade LOL!!!

Thanks to all the girls for all of the wonderful insightful comments on the FB page...Well it's off to read some diaries before I tidy up a bit and get dinner started...Much love to you all

B- pre Starbucks(instant)  1 pink lady apple, 1 banana oat date ball

L- Starbucks, extra lean turkey bacon lettuce wrap with 1/2 slice ff cheddar mustard and tomato

D- 3 oz turkey veggie loaf, 1/2 baked sweet potato, 1/2 cup sauteed collards, 1 cup romaine, cucumber, red onions, red peppers, 1 tbsp ff feta 1 tbsp sunflower kernels red wine vin, lemon wedge

tangalyn on 01/18/2011:
thanks for the great and supportive advice this morning. i actually love hot tea, and i have quite a variety lol so it amazes me that i never pick that to drink, i might rearrange that cabinet a lil bit so its always in front so i can be reminded it is an option at least. i love being meatfree, morningstar and other companies really do have some awesome tasting products that i would never believe r not real meat, its great,i remember tasing a couple when i was young and i hated them, so either they have vastly imporved or my taste buds have really changed!! ive aways loved fish too, so its probably a lil easier for me than for some ppl, because i dont think i could ever get sick of fish even if that was the only option.. my biggest issue with all that right now is learning all of the products/brands of different things that contain gelatin and making sure there is other options available there as well, and so far so good :) overall im very happy eating this way and a lil proud of myself too, so thank you for noticing that and for pointing it out :) hope u have a great day and an amazing time on ur walk :) cya later!! -hugs-

getmebackto150 on 01/18/2011:
let us know how the trenta treats you... I read about that yesterday... Good idea not weighing in w/ TOM!!!! Have a good one!

Sneak attack in the middle of the night eh!! Nice!! LOL Girl, if you ever can't get hold of coffee you are going to have to spend two days in bed recovering from withdrawals. Have a great day, walking, talking and sipping.:)

chidogs on 01/18/2011:
Goodness! That is a big cuppa! You enjoy now. :)

moogy on 01/18/2011:

You are welcome, you big kid, I am not sure that watching cartoons fits in with your tough girl routine!!!!LOL

hopingforhealth on 01/18/2011:
Ha ha. Too funny. I did think of you when I saw online that they were coming out. Of course someone already filled you in, ha ha. I am impressed that you aren't number obsessing. I know that's hard.

lifestylechange on 01/18/2011:
THANX Lady!! Much love and health to you today :)

emmy'smom-mom on 01/19/2011:
Hi V, thanks for your comment re my wine. If I'm being honest that was probably not as much as is sometimes is. I'd say I usually drink about 2 bottles of wine a week. It's so easy to forget to account for alcohol when you are watching what you eat. You seem to have done amazingly well! I liked what you said about picking your battles. I understood that as deciding when you can give yourself a bit of a treat and not having to have it all the time. Years ago I woke up one morning a realised that I could say no to myself. Seems simple but it hadn't occured to me! Have a great day and congrats on your loss, it's fab!

Good morning lovely ladies! Hailing miniture golf balls but temps are really nice with highs expected to be in the 70's..Perfect opportunity to open up my windows and finally let some fresh air in...Not a big fan of using artificial heat or air so this will be a nice break on using my electricity..

Not much on the agenda other than my "GTL" today, I am kinda bumming because I can't get my walk in to the laudrymat, not scared of getting wet, it is lightening like crazy here too and the thought of walking down the street  being a human electricity conductor with a metal basket and metal umbrella doesn't sound very smart does it??? LOL  Surely I would be "French Toast" pun intended Thanks ladies I'll be here all day, don't forget to tip the "webmaster"(the audience groans) Well I am going to read a few diaries and get my day started shortly! I hope everyone has a wonderful day

Well I am back in one piece! The rains stop long enough to enjoy a little bit of sun before the days end all tasks complete and now it's time to relax and see what's up with all my girles! I hope you guys had a  stellar day at work, home, or just out and about! Well dinner will be ready shortly, so it is off to see what's up

B- Starbucks 1 pear, oat date ball

yeah i think ur probably right, its pretty much just my unofficial menu for the day, im almost positive i will be adding more to lunch and probably adding a salad to dinner as well :)

KathyBlue on 01/17/2011:
YAY for fresh air... I send my cats over, they love fresh air, too! :)

Umpqua on 01/17/2011:

I think their website is outdated because the package I have looks different, and sucralose is NOT listed. I wouldn't have bought them if it was. I think they have a tiny amount of oil, ssh, don't tell Esselstyn :P Oh and I'm gonna ask my doc what he thinks about the book, I'm curious if he thinks it's extreme. I will report back!

I think you are right that i need to work on my self esteem! thank you for pointing this out to me. I am glad you did and I am going to continue to remember this - and that people don't usually judge us as carefully as I seem to think they do just by what I weigh....and moreso, i will remember the more general thing - to love myself for who i am. thank you!

I hope you arrived home safely. Sounds like my sort of weather. Last time we had a thunder storm my daughter and the kids where out on the front lawn yahooing and carrying on like loonies, don't know where they get it from!! Have a good one V. Love you.

lifestylechange on 01/17/2011:

Umpqua on 01/17/2011:
Yeah, he looked great and I think his wife is pretty and she looked great too :) Just returned from yoga and all is well. The doc said I'm in great health and had no clue who Esselstyn is LOL. I will give the full report tomorrow, but I'm interested to see how my cholesterol numbers are and I probably won't have those until Friday or end of week. Stay tuned!

getmebackto150 on 01/17/2011:
glad to hear that you got some sun in!!! I'm doing well with my new leave room for evening food plan!!!!! Hope you are having a good one!

getmebackto150 on 01/17/2011:
she started her internship with the NYS assembly the beginning of January... She is also still waiting tables a couple nights per week... It sounds like she is too busy at work to post for the most part... She has been doing well with getting up early to exercise, I'm not sure how healthy her eating has been... I don't think GREAT... but not too bad... SHe keeps saying she is going to start posting again, but between the 2 jobs and the boy... I'll believe it when I see it... LOL

hopingforhealth on 01/17/2011:
Good MLK day quotes! You are right, I was at a meeting for my secret project tonight! It was very fun and productive, and at the end, we all agreed on something that everyone was happy with, which was great (well, except for one person, who I think was just upset because he didn't get to be the "hero," with everyone going "oh so and so, you are sooo smart." It's pretty lame, but some people are just like that). I think I should be able to unveil it soon... really none of you all live near me so it should be fine, but you know, nothing is on the DL if it's on the internet!

moogy on 01/17/2011:
Well, I am, even if I do say so myself. I really don't cook a lot now that I don't have a family to cook for. Only myself, it doesn't seem worth the effort. I do however have a few tried and tested recipes that I can freeze well. The chicken rissoles I made yesterday, were a new recipe I made up and in the words of sweetpea they were, yummy yummy mcyumminess. I suprised myself. It is hard to keep brilliance cooped up!!!LOL

Maria7 on 01/17/2011:
Glad you're okay over there! :-)

hopingforhealth on 01/17/2011:
ha ha. He is totally a hater! I actually try to defend him usually, because I don't think he has any clue how offensive he can be, and he is a really good contributor a lot of the time. Plus you know, this is an adult, casual but still quasi professional organization, so lets not act like high school and just try to be cool with everyone and get along. But dayum, today he was just being a lame and will get no defense from me! He even made some comment about being the only one with a masters in education even though 1) he doesn't teach and 2) there actually was a teacher there, with a masters of course, who was actually the area's teacher of the year! And a marine biologist and scientist! I'm sure they had higher degrees. So no need to get snotty and insult other people's achievements or qualifications, dude. Most of the time I like him, but today he was a pill!

biscottibody59 on 01/17/2011:
Nope, I'm not a doctor, but I play one on TV;-)

Wondering what led you to your comments to me--something in particular you read in my diary or in my comments to someone?

I have had many experiences with healthcare (mine and that of others close to me) and the negatives obviously stand out for me. I was just listening (on Saturday) to an interview with a doctor bemoaning our system and he said everyone who goes into a hospital needs someone with them to play the role of SOB--that's definitely how I've been in my fair share of situations. And this is a doctor well-regarded by his peers.

I am lucky at the moment to have an internist who isn't one bit condescending. I've had two really shi*ty excuses for doctors as an adult. I got *something* out of each experience, but never went back after one or two visits.

It's unfortunate that you had such a bad experience and I'm sorry you suffered such a loss. Not a memory that just goes away with time. Losses and experiences like that are very difficult to say the least.

I don't really have a good way of finding a doctor. I'm of the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" school of personal health. Now that I'm 51, and have been dealing with more of my own medical stuff than I have EVER in my life, I'm still practicing that attitude but also trying to have some common sense along with it.

I think I lucked out with this dr. I'm not normally a control freak, but I give myself permission to be so when it comes to my health or that of others. I've seen some bad sh*t, and sometimes I find it hard to move on. Knowledge is power and you must trust yourself and your instincts when it comes to your health!

ps I'll put up a link to the radio interview I mentioned--I think it's good for a few weeks for free. I don't know if the whole thing is on the subject, but a good ol' SOB is something all of us need to empower ourselves to be when necessary. Many of us are raised to go along to get along and being the squeaky wheel goes completely against that. In the US it's often essential to be the squeaky wheel from time to time.

(Low Carb)
Weight: 133.0

Good morning ladies  4 1/2 hours til kick off for my team DA Bears!!!!!! I am so excited!!!!  Well yesterday was pretty busy until the clouds and blasts of artic winds came whipping through the beach to bring my day to a screeching halt around 3:30...went to my favorite local bar to watch the game with my co-workers... Now the Kentucky guy stopped in as we were shutting down and I told him of my plans and he stated that he wasn't into football LOl  It is not a requirement but he def lost alot of cool points, now although I told him that I would meet him after the game he insisted on tagging along with us...Not a problem either until he wouldn't stop yammering on and on also he was kinda demanding my attention as I attempted to watch the game...Well you all know it was game over for him!!! LOL I ended up leaving so I could watch the game in peace...Also I was sooo hungry and the bar really doesn't have the healthiest fare of foods but I avoided everything deep fried but i did have a few "healthier?" snacks...I will post them after my entry

I really wish I could take a nap becauseit was a pretty late night with the games and  V and Danimal drinking shennanagins LOl I really must fill my empty fridge, so I can have some yummy foods for the game!!! Time to get motivated...I see Starbucks in the very near future

Hey girlies!!! Thanks to all of the calls from all of my Chicago friends who seem to be without pain already hooting and amped for the game I might have slept through the entire game!! It all started with my mom extra amped with a speech worthy of a football coach! LOl.... As i shopped for groceries I noticed an unusual amout of people rocking the Bears jersey, A cute little blonde passed by me in the aisle sporting her Hester jersey and of course i am rocking my Urlacher (my future husband) one, we stopped and chatted away like we were best of friends, you know when I find another sports fanatic conversation will go on and on! Well reality hit us when we realized we only had about a half hour til kick off It was hilarious to see us zoom through the store to finish shopping and we both ended up in the check outline at the same time! LOl I got home with 10 minutes to spare but in my haste, I forgot a few things Guess it is going to wait til tomorrow! LOl Well I am going to yesterdays meals and respond to your post during halftime, I hope I have time to do the fb challenge today as well, now that I can absorb and comprehend words again!!! I was hurting this morning, but now I am about 98 % after chugging copious amouts of water, coffee, a "virgin Mary" advil and an Urban Detox...Yep it was one of those nights! LOL much love to you lovely girls

****Halftime!!!!Second game!!! I am hoping Belacheck fires up the Pats so getmeback's team plays mine in the Superbowl!!!! I managed to run up to the store and back before the kickoff of the game!!! I have my turkey and veggie meatloaf in the oven and it might be just the thing I need to get me to 100% I am still beaming from our win today!!! Hurrrahhhhhh I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend

moogy on 01/16/2011:
Really, I guess it must be in the way he moves or talks or something. I can't see it myself V, he just looks like all the other bald headed 30's somethings. But you go girl!! Sounds like you had a good weekend girlie. I wondered where you were, now I know, out and about enjoying yourself!!!LOL I hope you had a great time. Check this guy out http://i852.photobucket.com/albums/ab81/Jess-x-/JohnMorrison-13.jpg Just like my husband at that age, well the face anyway!!!

loveray on 01/16/2011:
you are SO cute! i hope you had an awesome weekend and enjoyed watching the game! xoxo

Umpqua on 01/16/2011:
Jalapenos!! I use too many with the boys but that was always a favorite. I'd love to add shrooms to most of my recipes but hubby doesn't like them. I tried a detox tea once and it made me kind of ill, but I'm sure there's lots of good stuff out there and it's good to flush out every once in a while!

Umpqua on 01/16/2011:
I CAN'T use too many with the boys is what I meant :P

just42day on 01/16/2011:
thanks for your note. Hope da bears do right by ya. :)

Umpqua on 01/16/2011:
Thanks for the link. You should definitely put them on top of the loaf, or hot sauce at the very least!

Umpqua on 01/16/2011:
Just saw your loaf description...I'm assuming it's ****ake - did the site censor you or did you censor yourself? ****ake ****ake ****ake......

Umpqua on 01/16/2011:
Rapcay! Hitshay!

getmebackto150 on 01/16/2011:
the partriots are not looking too good so far... :(

Umpqua on 01/16/2011:
I didn't realize it was misspelled, and I didn't realize the site censored such things. Well, I hope you're enjoying the loaf!

just42day on 01/16/2011:
turkey & veggie meatloaf sounds yummy! Will have to try that.

getmebackto150 on 01/16/2011:
this is definitelyhard to watch... LOL... I am trying desperately not to snack too much... I KNOW that I snack at night, so I'm trying to leave myself 500 calories below my maximum after dinner... That way if I give in and snack, I still have 500 calories to play with, but if I don't, it will do my body good to have lower calorie days...

Maria7 on 01/16/2011:
Hope you feel better, V. Thanks for your comment. :-)

getmebackto150 on 01/16/2011:
that was horrible... I have no words... Ugghhhh.... Now I have to look to next year...

It's white chocolate macadamia nut, homemade by my friend. One of the best I've ever had! See, the wine I can sip leisurely and make it last a couple of hours. The cheesecake was devoured in like 10 seconds :) Omigod, I really hope this is not going to happen every month. This sucks!

panda22 on 01/15/2011:
Oh wow what a cool inspirational story! Proves that anything is possible with determination =) Enjoy your day and your Starbucks mmmMMMMmmmm

"You had me at Starbucks and Football!" Sounds like a great movie line, doesn't it?

What a wonderful inspirational story about the 66 year old man. That super-awesome!

Hope you have a great caffeinated day. Go Dirty Birds!!

moogy on 01/15/2011:
I too am a stickler for promptness. I hate to be kept waiting and resent immensely people who waste my time by keeping me waiting. I hope that you had a good day V.:)
