(<1800 Cal/Day :: Ex Up To 20% Act :: 84 oz Water)
Weight: 154.5

Start: 189 (June 2001)
Low: 150.5 (Jan 2004)
Current BMI=26.5 My Realistic BMI Goal=22.8 (133)

For my activity:
Fri: Airdyne 31 min/7.2 mi; Jog 21 min/Walk 55 min
Sat: Walk 20 min
Sun: Walk 15 min

Days 180, 181 & 182 were kinda so-so overall--I've taken quite the break from exercise--something I tend to do from time to time. Didn't really go overboard on the eating, but could have made better choices.

My NordicTrack is a little on the poopy side, and I had to order some parts that aren't in stock. I've no idea when they'll get here. I guess I'll be doing a little more Airdyne than usual. There is a small fitness center close by that I have never accessed--so if the back order thing lingers too long I may check that out.

I'm quite overdue for a new pair of running shoes, so I've gotta get that done too. It's about time for the new model of what I've been wearing to come out (probably), so if I hesitate I may be out of luck to get this tried and true model. The one thing consumers can always count on is planned obsolescence!

Plan for today: Airdyne, jog, walk

Have a lovely day!

Day 176 was good.

I'm down a half-pound on my weigh-in. On my measurements I'm down a little less than 1.5 inches.

I just realized how far I've come in relation to my BMI. I started at the 9th point in the "overweight" range--50 total points--and I'm now at the 34th point--still "overweight," but closer to getting out of that range than I was the last day of February.

My highest BMI was 32.4 (189 and "obese") and I'm now at 26.6 and working toward 24 (140, which is at the higher end of "normal").

Plan for today: NTrk, jog, walk

I'm glad I didn't completely shun my exercise yesterday. As for the book, I think when we get past a certain age or reach certain milestones, we all have at least one compelling book in us. It would at least be a little cathartic to sit down and write it!

For my activity: NordicTrack 15 min/1.5 mi; DogJog 5 min/Walk 10 min

Day 170 was good. My calories were entirely too low. I just tallied them and I knew they would be low, but not that low. I was led astray by stress and extreme anxiety. Anxiety is one thing that can absolutely shut my appetite down. It can also jack it up--depends on the cause of the anxiety. I'm not going to go into specifics here.

People suck and life sucks and the control one needs is elusive--sometimes. Letting go and getting a good night's rest is helpful. It was very helpful to me, though the anxiety-causing situation is still over my head. You can't get blood from a turnip!

*** . . . Newsflash . . . ***
The situation is much better. If I were just a person who took NO for an answer, my life would be easier. Thanks to my mother I'm not that person. But by the same token with the lifting of the stress comes personal responsibility, which I can handle much better than non-control. In other words I don't have total control, BUT I have been vindicated. Is that clear as mud to everyone? Carry on . . . and maybe one day I'll write a book about the last 8 years of my life.

Plan for today: Jog, walk or maybe nothing

Have a lovely day!

I like that you are writing more than you used to in your entries. I'm glad your situation has improved!!! As for anxiety, usually makes me crave sweets, hehehe! Congrats on not giving in to overeating!!! Have a happy evening!!!

borntocry on 08/17/2006:
It was pretty vague to me, but very intriguing. Let me know when that book comes out!

I am also the kind of person who can't say no. Oh wait, you actually said that you can't take "no" for an answer, not that you can't say "no". Whoops, sorry. In that case I have no advice for you! Being the type of person who gives in to others far too easily, I often feel like there is a lot to be gained from refusing to take "no" for an answer!

Thanks for the comment you left me. My running shoes are new - so no solution there for my knee pain. I think I just added on the miles too quickly when I decided to train for this next half-marathon.

Anyway, hope you work out whatever is causing you all this stress. In the meantime perhaps you can simply take advantage of the reduced appetite. Man, I wish stress had that effect on me!

becca27 on 08/17/2006:
I will buy the book!

Congrats on the weight loss! You are doing so well! Perseverance!

geevee on 08/17/2006:
Wonderful! An under 1000 calorie day. They're so few and far between.

When I'm under stress is the time my house gets real clean! Such a positive use of energy!

For my activity:
Sat: Half of weightlifting portion of Circ Aer Wkt; DogJog 5 min/Walk 40 min
Sun: Walk 25 min

Days 167 & 168 were good.

I completely gave up on my jog for last night. I had put on my running shoes, but something in the back of my mind told me not to go. The heat was a good reason not to go, though I had eaten half of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich before and was plenty hydrated. There was just a nagging sense that I should stay home. I left my running shoes on, and I developed this pain in the front of my ankle (that isn't there now). I guess that was the signal that I had made the right decision--haha!

borntocry on 08/15/2006:
My policy on exercise is to force myself to change into my running clothes, no matter how reluctant I am. If I decide not to go after I'm already changed and ready to go, that means I really, really don't want to do it. And then I give myself the day off. So I think you did make the right decision.

That heat can be so intimidating. Thank goodness the heatwave here is finally over. Now it's freezing cold and rainy again, as it usually is here in the summer. Hope it cools down for you too!
