I had a pretty good day--made 2 out of 3 goals. Calories were a bit high. Did 68 min/8.0 mi on the NordicTrack and later on did 41 min/10.1 mi on the Airdyne.

I do not like the short days. I feel for people north of here who have even shorter ones. I really think it's affecting my mood and thus my food intake. The 3 and 4 day challenges really helped me back in the spring and this one seems to be getting me a little more focused on the task at hand.

That's where I'm planning to be for CurvyShar's Holiday Challenge.

Challenge (Fri-Sat-Sun) goals are <2100 cal/day, 1000 cal deficit/day, 100 oz water/day.

It's time for a little challenge for little ol' me--a "Kyrin-inspired" 3-day
(Fri-Sat-Sun). Challenge goals are <2100 cal/day, 1000 cal deficit/day, 100 oz water/day. Food choices have ranged from so-so to atrocious the last few days--but--I've gotten in my usual NordicTrack and jogging most days.

Hope you're all hangin' in there! Cheers to you all!

Tues 12.02.03:
Am down scalewise, measurements essentially unchanged:-) It was good taking several days off from meaningful/purposeful exercise. Activities as of the last few days have included dog walking a little, housework, and driving. Didn't jog or get on any exercise equipment. No Fitday or logging food in my little notebook. A good break--it was necessary, I needed it. Getting back into the swing again!

Pearl Harbor (1941) Anniversary today!

I had two really good days of exercise--walked a mall one day--did some housework. Writing down food, but not using Fitday--gotta get back to it (sounding like a broken record--haha!). Need to recommit to drinking my water too.

Cheers everyone!

Hello All!

Tuesday I got on the NordicTrack for 60 min/7.1 mi (a.m.) and later on did a jog for 20 min and a 15 min dog walk. I did a Circuit Aerobic Workout on the Airdyne (30 min/7.2 mi) on Wednesday evening--don't remember the last time I used the Airdyne. It uses completely different muscles than all the other stuff I do--I must make a mental note in permanent marker with this info:-)

I somewhat regretted this on Thursday morning. I was truly wiped out, probably a little dehydrated despite drinking around 90 oz of water on Wednesday. I had a horrible headache. Not wanting to sound whiny here, but changing up one's fitness routine is a good thing, just not the day before Thanksgiving when one will need to be on one's feet alot of the day. I survived and I feel good today. I wanted to get in a little jog yesterday evening, but didn't.

It's back to writing it all down and tracking it on Fitday--I signed on to CurvyShar's holiday challenge for 4 pounds after all! This is serious stuff. I had a major backslide during the holidays the first year I attempted this current weight loss regime, and it took an awful long time to get back in the swing of things to even maintain and a little longer to start losing again.

Cheers everyone!

Happy Tuesday!

I've been a little off on my eating--in fact I got so far behind tracking it on Fitday that I gave up--started back with yesterday's intake. The important thing is for today's weigh-in I'm up 2 pounds (not surprising). The only measurement down is Hip, four are up slightly, and three are unchanged. I was really getting into the candy for quite a few days last week--I had no candy yesterday. I'm going to indulge in some goodies for Thanksgiving, but the candy is out of sight. I want to have an active and successful holiday season as far as weight and measurements are concerned.

Activities lately:
Thurs 11.20 NordicTrack 61 min/7.5 mi; 20 min jog; 15 min dog walk.

Fri 11.21 Mowing/cleanup about 3 hours; inline skating 20 min--found some skates I never mastered and just went round and round in the garage--I can sort of stop--using the little brake, but I think it needs to be replaced.

Sat 11.22 NordicTrack 68 min/8.0 mi; Jog 20 min.

Sun 11.23 Little plumbing fix-it--walked around HomeDepot for a couple hours--took a break from other usual activities.

Mon 11.24 NordicTrack 61 min/7.5 mi with about 15 min of Circuit-type workout with weights; Jog 20 min--15 min dog walk.

Cheers everyone!

I didn't make the worst possible choices, and I got in an early NordicTrack workout, 52 min/6.1 mi plus a circuit workout with weights--about 15 min. Later I did a 20 min jog and 20 min dog walk. If I can get in that little weight workout every 3 days or so--I'll be satisfied. It's only 15 min, but it packs a wallop!

Cheers everyone!

Biscotti, do you use videos at all? I've found some really good weighted workouts that are pushing me past what I thought I could do.

Hi All!

On my weigh-in yesterday I was up a pound. Half my measurements were down 1/8 inch and the other half were unchanged. So I'll take that if I can't have a loss poundwise.

I was so hungry Monday afternoon and evening--kinda continued the foodfest yesterday. I may continue it today--we'll see. I'm going to go with the flow--not really overeating, but eating just about whatever I want (I ate 5 funsize kitkats yesterday--and I don't really care for them all that much). I know from the past that if I just feel a little deprived, it will come back with a double vengeance later on.

Cheers everyone!

You should know your body well enough by now that you would have doubled that later on so I say you did the right thing by feeding that urge right away! You may have saved yourself a lot of calories! Your doing a super job, keep it up!

geevee on 11/19/2003:
You're so right about not feeling deprived! I had three of those eating days last week during which I literally was eating non-stop all afternoon, but I didn't gain any weight. Maybe it's all the exercise we do. I drive my son nuts with my stash of chocolate bars. I've had them for months and yesterday, for the first time in ages, ate two small squares. The important thing is knowing it's there and that I can have "some" but not go overboard, so I always make sure I have loads of lo cal food to snack on to "take up the slack".

malh on 11/19/2003:
You are so right...sometimes we have to give into those foodfest or they will stockpile and then really get us....Good choice

Soon2BThin on 11/19/2003:
That's okay, you'll have a good loss for sure the next weigh-in. It's funny but since I've relaxed my eating the last few days, I've started losing weight! And not even exercising every day! I don't understand it but I'll take it. I know what you mean about feeling so hungry lately. I think we just have days like that and days when we really don't have to eat as much. I think we should just listen to what our bodies are telling us. Just don't let them become the boss ALL the time, haha!

Hi All!

I took those 2 pair of jeans back to walmart. And I had tried them on in the store. I don't really know what I'll do for jeans. I guess I'll have to break down and actually take the time to shop. Don't really like to shop. And I thought that getting back to between a 10 and 12 it would be a piece of cake. Nope!

So anyway . . . I guess my body wants to play a few more tricks on me. It seems to know what's in store even when I don't have a clue. (If that makes any sense at all:-)

Cheers everyone!

This is such a great group--have been reading--my eyes are tired--great motivation here. I have a question: I take paxil 20 mg per day--have hypothyroidism--what a mess! Am trying to go off paxil slowly, with doctor's advice--the question is: are there others in this group who have gained weight through taking paxil? My metabolism seems like that of a slug. But, then how could I measure a slug's bmr? I have increased exercise, lowered calorie consumption. Hate the paxil withdrawal. Any tips? I drink gallons of water--that helps. mopflop

Happy Sunday!

I've had an interesting few days lifewise. It included the 5th Anniversary of something that irrevocably changed my life. I felt a feeling of watershed on that day--time will tell if I've shaken and excised some of the trauma. I believe I have, but I still have to work at "my life."

Looking back at the time and effort I've taken to lose weight and get fit, I realize more than ever that I was able to persevere because it was one of only a few things I had control over. Sure there are moments of weakness I felt that food had more control over me and sitting on my ass was a more constructive way to spend my time. But now that I have built some momentum in my effort, I am gratified and so thankful that I didn't give up on myself. A lesson learned, if nothing else. When I was a kid I never thought I'd still be learning lessons in my 40s:-)

Cheers everyone!

Thanks for the comment. I still had a not-so-good day today. The half hour walk wore me out for the day and I just ate way too darn much again. Even took a nap. You're doing so good I want to join you there in 150 land. Soon you'll be in the 140's. I'm so envious. I know I can do it, I did it before, I just can't seem to keep up the momentum these days. But I'll keep trying! Have a good Monday!

Congratulations on overcoming the trauma in your life. You'll get stronger every year because of your success so far.

Thanks for the suggestion in my journal. I am still so broken out from last week that I wonder if I should go again. Maybe I better stay for shorter periods of time too. I hate to though. I love it sooo much!

Heck, don't think anythingof it, ... learning lessons at 40+, .... I'm 59 and learning lifes lessons yet!

Have a wonderful evening! Baylee

For yesterday, I started out behind on sleep so I didn't do a pre-bkfst workout. So then I thought I'd do a circuit-type workout later. Wasn't motivated. Finally decided to take a dog walk around dusk. Ended up at about 35 min. Then food choices weren't the most spectacular--mainly too big portions. Then went to Arby's--didn't pick low fat/cal there either.

I want to concentrate on cutting my portions in half for the next week. I simply can't exercise properly with too little sleep--want to work on that too!

Cheers everyone!
