Scale was the same!

I now have two green ink marks on either side of my natural waistline, but my measurements were either the same, down (abdomen), or up a little on calf and bust--neither of which keep me from getting into these pants. It was a mental win to be able to do that. And equally wonderful that the zipper was intact when I shimmied them off--hahaha! Probably more wonderful--I'm gonna be too sexy for my pants, too sexy for my pants, sooo sexxxxy!

I'm at a crossroads. Do I want to be frumpy and keep my belly for the rest of my natural life. Or less-belly-ful and be able at least wear any pants I pull from a shelf or hanger. I sooo can't stand to try on 20 pairs of blue jeans and end up going back to the same old Wrangler squareass types in whatever different color of blue they've come up with. Despite what I may hope for, my bikini-wearing days are probably over. I'm having a flashback to that character Cher used to do--the one with the animal print body suit (was her name Laverne?). I mean I still marvel that I've been able to keep off most of what I originally lost (give or take 5 or so pounds). That's nothing to sneeze at. And it's not easy to do--I marvel at anyone's ability to lose a given amount of weight.

Totally icy, but I had gone to the grocery store yesterday and got home right as sleet/freezing rain started. I bought "Toastables"--a poptart clone, but with "real fruit." Mind you the fruit is NOT blueberry in the blueberry, but apple--I always read the ingredients, etc before I buy something new. This is a pretty common ploy. It's done with those toaster strudels too. By the way, I can't remember who you were, but you mentioned "Fiber 1" in an entry--well, I read that label and ruled it out owing to Aspartame as one of its ingredients, I don't tolerate it at all. My favorite high-fiber cereal is Uncle Sam--it actually tastes good without alot of extra stuff. It's whole wheat with flaxseed added. Not many people buy it apparently, but it's very good IMO.

Speaking of adding fiber to your diet, I have a couple of friends who swear by something called Konsyl--it's 100% psyllium, supposedly better than cellulose-based fiber drinks. Both of these people have acid reflux problems and it seems to help with that somehow too.

I did a NordicTrack workout (Circuit Aerobic) Monday (27 min/2.7 mi). Didn't get in a workout yesterday. Water was about 90 oz yesterday and 20 oz today. I always have a correlation of poor food choices and not enough water.

Girl...if you're ever going to look great in those pants again, you've got to commit to drinking all of your water, every day, OK?? Even if your food choices are horrible, and you acted like a sloth and didn't move much....drink your water. (It washes away a world of mistakes!)

I'd never heard of that cereal...my family might like it. Where do you buy it?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure her name was LaVerne. I used to love that show! I wish they'd bring it back in reruns like they do with some shows. I agree with you about the pants. It sure would be nice, wouldn't it, to be able to fit in any of them? I keep going the wrong way lately though. I guess we will just keep on dreaming and I'm sure we'll get there some day.

Pants try-on/measurement/weigh-in day is tomorrow.

I've been doing my workouts--Fri (2.21) I did NordicTrack for
45 min/4.5 mi (20 min @level 1 incline) and drank about 80 oz water. Sat (2.22) I did my jog--36 min--broken into 29 and 7 min and drank about 100 oz. Sunday was a resting day; except for a little housework and cooking. I took the day off from recording my eats and from a workout (and also from water--only 22 oz). I really needed the break from exercise--backside was rather sore still.

I made the high fat version of "Tapioca Cream" from the instant tapioca box. It's really a wonderful (almost luxurious:-) dessert--although I could be waxing nostalgic because I remember it from childhood. I'm going to try it with just whites and FF milk next time.

Hello and Happy Friday!

I wanted to jog yesterday, the rain never let up, so I did a hefty indoor workout. I did a Circuit Aerobic Workout (weights, etc.) on the Airdyne (about 50 min total). Then I got on my NordicTrack and did 5.3 mi/51 min (20 min at level 1 and 10 min at level 2). I drank over 100 oz water.

Wow...are you floating away yet? Good job on the water! I'm on my fourth 16 ounce bottle now...with one more to go (my goal is 80 ounces per day.)

I have been so busy with my new job that when I get home I have no more energy to do any other form of exercise. WOW! You seem to be doing great. Just wanted to stop in and say thanks for the comment and advice. The cops are still not showing up. I am lucky I have the next three days off. That way I can catch up on my lost sleep. I am been wanting to eat all kinds of bad food choices and I think it is because I am so tired. Right now it is 11pm and they have there kids running back and forth. I wish I could move, but I own this condo. YUCK! Never again. I am buying a house next time. Well you have a great weekend. Hope it stops raining. Beth :)

What I did on Tuesday (2.18) was a NordicTrack workout 37 min/3.5 mi. Drank around 100 oz water. On Wednesday (2.19) I rode for 41 min/10.1 mi on the Airdyne and drank about 90 oz water. Feeling good about my exercise--no conflicts/difficulty getting motivated.

I'm not counting out days or miles. I'm just going to try to continue to maintain water, exercise, sensible food choices and lowered caffeine. Oh, and the "pants alert," which is an exercise in keeping mindful and visualizing the short green indelible-ink marks on either hip. Visualizing, so that I don't have to run around with hot pants (my age is showing:-) searching for a full-length mirror all day or something.

Down 1 pound and on measurements lost a little, stayed the same, but didn't gain anywhere. Woo-hoo all credit for the 4-day Kyrin Challenge! Did a 35 min jog (21-5-9 min)--I couldn't do it without the breaks--thanks to no days of exercise break. I'll take it any way I can get it! I drank 104 oz water.

Woo-Hoo! You're doin' great, Biscotti! I'm so proud of you! {grins} I love that green marker visual. I wasn't that inventive. I just took a photo.

I managed to send hubby off to shop by himself this morning. Then, still in the mood to shop, he came home and got our son Matt for company. They had a guys' afternoon out while I stayed home and did a bit more of my workout plan.

Sounds like you're on your way to your goal, it's certainly obtainable by April! I read your last entry where you mentioned the acid washed jeans, so so funny! :) No offense, but I doubt they'll be coming back in style anytime soon. ;)

I tried to do the four day challenge, but I ended up excercising my video gaming muscles more than my gulteal muscles. I know it is crazy, but I LOVE my Playstation.

For Saturday, I met all my challenge goals except the water--66 out of 100 oz. I did 30 min on the Airdyne--really had to push myself to get started. For Sunday, I met all goals except the water--88 out of 100 oz. I did a NordicTrack workout 5.1 mi/52 min (31 min at level 1 elevation).

Now for the pants. I found an old picture and I still have the pants I was wearing in the picture. I would like to be able to get into those pants again--just for the heck of it:-) Well, maybe so I can look and feel better too!

So I remembered PastaGal saying to try on your pants (that you want to get into everyday). Well, I tried them on and I just couldn't believe . . . I've taken various pictures of myself and other little gimmicks to snap me back into reality, but this is practically a shocker. Seems I tried these on 4 or 5 years ago and could at least get them over my hips (just couldn't zip them). Must have been a much much longer time ago. Because today I couldn't get them past about mid-thigh--boo-hoo and ha-ha! All at once.

It will be amazing to me if I can sustain this as a motivator. It doesn't seem like something that will keep me going, but gosh how fun it will be to tell people, "Wha ah hain't been able ta put these here britches on in umpty-ump years--whaddaya think!" The other hilarious part is they are acid-washed--maybe by the time I can fit into them, acid-washed, tightish, straight-leg, high(ish)-waist fancy pants will be back in style, hahahahaha ROTFLMAO!

Enjoy your Monday--and to everyone who got (or is still getting) too much snow--stay warm--I wish that we had just a little of it here!

I know what ya mean about pullin' on those older pants and having reality hit. I have some that are really calling me to wear them again. I can't imagine that I <i>ever</i> comfortably wore those...and that may be part of the problem. I need to imagine being successful and sliding into them again. As long as I was telling myself "Maybe I can't do it," I was giving myself an out. I want to get into those jeans! One of the most motivational journals that I found recently shows a gal that takes pictures weekly. She took a photo of herself trying to get into those goal pants every week. And every week, we could see those pants sliding up a little farther...until one day she had them on, zipped, and looked comfortable wearing them.

That could be us!

I have a pair of size 10 jeans that were my favorites....years ago....and my goal is to be able to wear them again sometime this year. My 14's are still snug in the hips, but getting looser in the waist and legs, so I know I'm making progress. I have some shorts in 12, and I'll start trying them on occasionally to see how much more I have to do to get into them. Could be (like you said) waaahhhh, and ha-ha! at the same time.

What a hilarious entry today!!! I love the fact that your goal pants are acid washed high waisted & straight legged!!! I need a pair of goal pants. Right now I have a size 14 skirt I'm aiming for, but I can kid myself into thinking it fits. (although it looks like something's about to give when I have it on...)

I'm doing pretty well with the (Kyrin-inspired) challenge. I ate my 2 svg each of fruit and veg. I drank about 44 oz (out of 100) of water--I usually don't drink alot unless I'm really doing a hefty workout. The best part is I did about a 35 min walk--a new trek for me, because I usually opt for an indoor workout or jogging. (I used to walk a ton a few years ago.) I really enjoyed the walk, it was cool and humid and not too windy--great walking weather.

I fell down a bit on my water consumption yesterday as well. Ah, well, we'll try harder.

Re: the cookbook. Was it Pickled Beets? I thought I remembered that you don't usually eat them that way...or maybe the edition I have added a cinnamon stick to the recipe and that made them likeable for me (don't usually like pickled beets). Anyway, now you've inspired me to go drag out my cookbooks and see if I can make something healthy as a veggie and as a treat. (If I'm gonna do one, I should probably do the other. LOL)

Happy V-Day and Friday!

I did my 12 min test yesterday. Walked a little and jogged a little to warm up and then started jogging as fast as I could. About 4 min into it I slowed a bit and then picked up the pace again the last 3 min. I clocked it (in my car) at 1.3 miles, my best so far in 4 times. For the table I'm using in the old Kenneth Cooper Aerobics book--it's in the "Excellent" category for my age group--woo-hoo! The next one up from that is "Superior." Also my heart rate was 164.

I'm doing a "Kyrin" weekend challenge. My challenge is: At least 100 oz water, 30 min moderate exercise, and 2 fruits/2 veg Daily. For yesterday I drank 96 oz water, 2 fruits/1 veg and completeted the exercise with jogging/walking. Feels good like a jumpstart!

Just a quick update!

I didn't get in any exercise these last 2 days. I was really sore from the weights/jog on Tuesday. Then on Wednesday, was just really tired and couldn't see any reason to try to exercise, so I didn't:-)

I guess I'll try to get myself moving today--haven't done a 12 min test in quite a while, so maybe I can get that in.

Hi, I can do the exercise tape I use in a way that I don't put as much pressure on the one hip as I normally would and it's a different kind of position to do the job I was doing yesterday. It was stand up, sit down, stand up sit down and lean over and put pressure on the hip while the joint is bent or flexed. That's the most painful of all. When I use it a lot while standing, it is usually LATER that I have pain from it. Anyway, I have an appointment at another big clinic in April to see if they can offer any more hope. There was a bid up at work for second shift and if it's still up today I'm going to sign it. The supervisor on second shift I think is easier to work with than the one on days. And the people are more friendly.

I'm curious, ... what's a 12 minute test? I truly do wish I could exercise like you do.But I know what you're saying about getting the feeling or attitude of "I don't see any reason to right now". I'm sure you'll be right back at it today. Have a good day! Baylee

My weight is the same this week. On my measurements, they're just about the same; some up, some down; nothing significant either way, darling:-)

I did a 42 min jog yesterday. Found a way to go where I backtrack only a little. It's soooo boring to go the same way all the time. This one has quite a few hills, but they are not that difficult. I have a bit of a stiff neck/shoulder today, but I'm gonna try to get in a workout of some kind today.

Thanks for the comments. Yes, I do have a juicer, but I seldom use it. I guess because I'd just as soon eat the fruit or veggie. That recipe sounds good. I'll have to try it one of these days. I like smoothies too. I just wish I could exercise like you can. I'd love to be able to jog, or just a fast walk/run, but this hip is hindering me now. Maybe some day I'll be able to get it fixed.
