Hi there DD people!

The brownies are gone! I had a so-so diet day . . . drank >100 oz water. I did 46 min on the NordicTrack and some leg lifts (60) and pushups (25). Gotta go to beddy bye!

Happy Wednesday!

I ate 2 out of 3 meals on-diet and I stopped counting brownies at 6;-) (Brownies that is, not 6 p.m.) I drank >80 oz water and did 42 min on the NordicTrack. I'm usually not a fool for brownies or any other sweets--except when the combination of stress and lack of "good" snacks are in effect. Other than that I'm doing just great:-)

Hidy Ho!

I was over my goal calories, but I'm right back to it today! Did my NordicTrack before breakfast. Once I get my socks and shoes on, I'm okay--I know I'll do something exercise-wise!

As for yesterday, water intake was nil and I succumbed to the brownies. So I holidayed foodwise. I was thinking back to a year ago and the one thing I know for sure--my cardiovascular capacity has improved pretty quickly and it hasn't been all that difficult to maintain a certain level. I'm basing this on feeling (not a formal stress test or anything). It's time to work back up to the lower resting pulse I noticed back in the summer/fall of 2001--it had gotten down to 58 on a consistent basis. I still feel good, but I would like to have some "wiggle room" for my fitness level--is that possible? Consistency and staying healthy so that I can keep up a certain level are keys for me.

I hope you all had a better food choice day than I did. It was okay except for a whole lot of brownies--four--that took my calorie count right over the edge. Oh well. The recipe for the popcorn is below.

I only drank about 20 oz water and didn't do any exercise. Some of ya'll are really doing a wonderful job with your exercise consistency. I gotta get on the stick--I know I'm capable! See ya' later buddies!

Here's a link to the popcorn recipe, Plain Brown Popper. I make it about the same except I don't use jalapeno seasoning and I don't care for the strong taste of regular olive oil. I've tried using garlic salt and I didn't really care for it. Here's how I make it:

1/4 cup popcorn
2 teaspoons extra light olive oil
1/4 teaspoon popcorn salt

Paper lunch bag

Toss the popcorn with the olive oil and salt in the lunch bag. Fold the top of the bag over and staple* the bag twice to close. Place the bag in the microwave and microwave on high for 2 to 4 minutes, listening closely until there are about 5 seconds between pops.

*I know--you're not supposed to put metal in the microwave and I was skeptical--but I have a teeny tiny microwave and I've never had a problem with the staples sparking.

Also, alot of the oil ends up in the plate of the microwave--but that's a good thing, that means it's not in the popcorn--hahaha!

Hi Everyone!

I had a good food day--I did portion control! Woo-hoo! Did the diet for two meals and then I had half of a BLT for supper (including mayo). The calories are at the upper limit of my goal, but I think I'm finally "getting it" without feeling deprived, at least for one day;-) At least I know what it feels like.

Plus there just isn't alot of junk that I'm interested in eating around here. I tried to eat a graham cracker--yukko! I would have made popcorn except that I don't have any lunch bags to make it the way I like it. My activities consisted of housework and I drank >40 oz water (not enough, but it's better than -0-).

Need to get on the stick and hit the grocery store--see ya' later!

Sounds good! How do you make popcorn in a lunch sack? MMMM BLT, I love those! Use the fat free mayo. It is not the best, But it works! I wish they made fat free bacon! I know, it WOULD NOT be the same!

Happy Saturday!

I had a good day calorie-wise, but I really didn't do my diet. I walked 20 min and drank >60 oz water. I ate several of the scones I had made, but not much else except some homemade black bean soup. I could probably live off of scones, that's what I learned;-)

I also had a mini-revelation about self-hate (for lack of a better concept). My kitchen was such a disaster area and I started cleaning it a couple days ago--never finished and so it got much worse. So I tackled it earlier and I realized it was truly a symbol of how I feel about myself. I have always been one who would tell you I can look myself in the mirror and say, "I like myself!" I can still do that--but when one's actions, habits, and ways of treating other people do not bear this out, it eventually catches up with the image one has of oneself. I'm sure I've read it and never really applied it to myself as deeply as I should have. As I said this is a small thing I noticed, but it may have rippling consequences for me. I'll keep you posted:-)

I may not stick too closely too my food choices for the long weekend, but I'll still count and get my exercise in. I'll just plan to pick it back up Tuesday.

Hi to you all!

I had a good diet day for the most part--ate Chinese Buffet for supper, but didn't go overboard--drank >80 oz water and did a 15 min walk. Sort of ran out of exercise time and I wanted to start getting it out of the way before breakfast, so onward I go toward better fitness!

This is the end of my 3 days and I must say it got very boring (at least the preparing/cooking part), thus Chinese, but I'm going to go ahead and sign on for 3 more (Thurs Fri Sat). The only thing I may do completely out of the way on one of the days is have some lovely fresh date scones (1 or 2). So far, so good--at least I think so;-)

Hi Everyone!

As the day wore on, I became more and more nauseated (very mild--must have been something I ate yesterday) until afternoon. I'm still burping a little more than I'd care to. So for exercise I'm counting the shopping trip for 45 min. Just didn't feel like doing anything else and that was a stretch. Drank >80 oz water.

I ate very well despite the low calorie count--too low for a "normal" day! I missed one fruit, had no salad at supper and had no snacks. I don't feel deprived. The thing this plan is great for is using your jaw muscles--it's very difficult to feel truly deprived. At least for today!
