For my activity: NordicTrack 42 min/4.5 mi; Bike Ride 21 min/3.8 mi; Calisthenics 5 min

For the weekly recap of goals met or not: Calories were <1800 on one day only (Avg: 2339), all planned Circ Wkts done. Fat was <75 grams on three days. I hit the 80 oz water goal on six days and the cardio (1 hr/day) goal on five days. Jogged on only one day.

Plan for today: NTrack, Jog/Walk

Yah...can you believe 4 weeks already? see what I meant about how fast time goes and how much you can have taken care of in that short of time, nose to the grindstone, with a couple flubs.... It is not easy by any mean and I know you know what I am saying...but if I can do it and know that I have done the best of my ability, that is all I can expect from myself..and where I land is still yet to be determined and I am determined to land that goal...

I totally agree with you! You are right. A couple of 'bad' days isnt so bad, what i think i meant is that I still need to improve and struggle on my workouts. It's definitely something to work on. As for my waist:hip ratio... it's because I am brazilian. hahaha. I'll always have bigger hips and smaller waist/chest. My reason for weight loss is way more appearance and self confidence driven than health. I am pretty healthy and even when I am bigger and overeating, I am not really the fast food type of girl. I just may eat way too much and compulsively. Argh. I am glad now things are going so well. Have a great day and thanks!

For my activity: Circ Aer Wkt using NordicTrack (42 min/4.8 mi)

I have to say that I did my Circuit the way it was intended for the first time in a really long time--2 years or more. It usually takes me about 2 hours depending on dumbbell weight. (The length of the workout means that I'm taking too much time between exercises, but yesterday I pushed it.) I did my 1 min:30 sec on the NTrack quickly after finishing an exercise.

Granted, with the higher weight I'm using, I'm doing fewer reps (I increase the reps gradually over several weeks, then I go up in dumbbell weight). So what would normally have taken a couple of hours took me just about 1 hr:20 min in all.

I could tell during my jog the other night that I was feeling much fitter, so I'm glad I pushed yesterday's workout. Feels great!

Plan for today: NTrack, Walk, Bike Ride

I just finally had to tell myself I am going to stick with it this time and not let MYSELF down...I am a very determined person and find a way to pretty much get whatever it is I want (within reason and not harming others) and don't really care how long it takes to get it.....I finally came to the conclusion that if I had that much gumption for something material, why couldn't I be that way with myself and be much more rewarded in the end for doing so....I can remember oh so many times looking back at how fast time has gone by and if I would have at least stuck with it ALL THAT TIME, how much thinner/better off I would of been by the time I sat down and reflected upon the time passed...Then being mad & depressed...Who else to blame, but ME!!!!!!!!!

This last 4 weeks have went by fast and I have had ups and downs mentality wise, but have really tried to stick with what I set forth to do, regardless..... I hope & pray to be here for the duration and will continue to be here after I get to that goal.... In my short stent here, I have often wondered about those who seemed to be going super strong and now, just seem to wane and only come around when things are good....This forum is for the good AND bad times in this neverending journey....Even when we get to where we are headed.... Maintenance then will be the key.... HAVE A GREAT EVENING!!!!!

Well, different countries work in different ways. In brazil you can get a lot of stuff that should be prescription over the counter. It's still prescription, only they dont always check it. Some other are more controlled, but I guess you can find stuff when you want it. Lord knows how it is in Indonesia... And yeah, the idea is to look and feel healthy and good but still respecting the way we're built. I will always have a big butt and smaller chest. Brazilian... ha ha

Wow - I had no idea your circuit workouts were that long! I know they say you shouldn't take too much time between exercises if you really want to build muscle, but it could be better for your cardiovascular fitness if it keeps your heart rate up for longer.

Thanks for your comment. Yeah, you really know me! I had already noticed your conspicuous absence from the water brigade. But no, I don't really have a good reason for my hydrophobia. Just don't like it. That's why I am trying to change my ways - really, I am! But like all good intentions, it's hard to stick to it when one isn't really convinced of the benefits, you know? It seems I periodically go on these water-drinking sprees and then give it up again. But then, I used to do the same thing with weight-lifting, so maybe my resolve is improving...

The jog was a relative piece of cake--after not jogging for 18 days I wasn't too sure how it'd be! It felt great!

I'm down 1.5 pounds on my Saturday weigh-in and up 1/16" on my measurements overall.

I had put off cleaning gutters in the fall, which wasn't noticeable until we had a heavy rain last week. So I did that Friday--a little cold, but it feels great to have it done!

I've had as much special chocolate as I've ever had in a span of two or three days. I'll now go back to my occasional piece; that which is manageable, good and something I have no desire to go overboard on.

Wish we could get to the gutters - we've got huge icicles hanging from the eaves, and it appears that our gutters are full of ice...The thermometer says it's 46 degrees out there right now, so I'm hoping that the ice has been melting. YAY for the pound and a half! Only 3.5 to go on this round!

For the weekly recap of goals met or not: Calories were <1800 on two days only (Avg: 2102), all planned Circ Wkts done. Fat was <75 grams on three days. I hit the 80 oz water goal on five days and the cardio (1 hr/day) goal on four days. No jogging done at all.

So it's the 6-week mark since I started counting on 2.2.2008, and I've had zero days with 3000 calories. In fact the most calories/day I've had was 2791 on 2.18--only 11 days were below 1800. So far so good, but lots of room for improvement of course (and some goal adjustment perhaps)! I'm not really looking farther than the next goal week--6 weeks is too much to think about!

In response to your comment: I got a Polar F6 HRM. It is on the cheap end of the Polar HRMs...but it does what it needs to do. It keeps me aware of my heart rate, so sometimes I do things to jump it up a little through out the day. I'm skeptical of the calorie counter though.

I TOTALLY know what you mean about how at least I didn't GAIN weight. Although I wish I'd have lost more last year, I really AM happy to have at least maintained.

Yes, the HRM also counts the calories you burn while resting. It's really pretty neat. I guess I burn about 600 calories just sleeping! According to this thing. You put in your weight, age, height, and it calculates how many calories a person like you would burn depending on your heart rate. Due to being a yo-yo for the past 4 years, I think my metabolism is a bit slower than an average 24 year old. But hopefully with some consistency, I can get it back on the right track.

I highly recomend one of these things to anyone interested. It's way more accurate than the monitors on most work-out machines.

It took me way too long, but I got in the full circuit workout including 36 each military and sissy pushups! The aerobic portion was rather a joke at 3 minutes.

On March 9th Daylight Saving Time begins! (In the parts of the US that observe it.)

hehe, 3 min for aerobic? I guess your heart wasn't in it??? i always did better exercising in the AM....but then I get too hungry at work. I'm still not sure what to do. I'm thinking an hour is too much in the AM...and that 20 min is better than nothing...

That's awesome on the pushups. You really motivate me to get into doing some. They are sooo good for your upper body strength.

No exercise--sleep won out! Furthermore, I can't eat while sleeping:-)

I'm up a pound on my weigh-in. On measurements I'm down a scant quarter-inch overall, but down .75 inch in my waist, which gives me a waist-to-hip ratio quite below .80 for the first time in awhile. This and my body fat measurement as compared to 1.13.08: 35.3% down from 37.2% is a good little nudge in the right direction. (Yeah, my weight is up, but I was needing something to validate SOME of what I'm doing!)

I'd like to get all gung ho about keeping my calories below 1800, but that's something I have to do on a daily basis, not just write about. Time to put my money where my mouth is!

I've replaced my "goal shorts" with a size 10 that I can button/zip, but that are a little small. (I can now wear the previous ones perfectly fine and a few other 10s comfortably!) BTW I don't buy stretch jeans or shorts--hate 'em! I've got a pair of 8s waiting in the wings--can get 'em over my hips, but no buttoning or zipping just yet:-)

Can't get enough numbers here? Well I figured my minutes/hours of exercise for January: 22 hrs cardio::5 hrs wt trng!

I'm ALMOST excited to be able to wear shorts this year - it's been a long time since I've worn decent looking shorts...Don't like to show the thighs, but since I've been on the rebounder, there's definite improvement!
