I finished yesterday at 1829 healthy calories!!! Breakfast was wasa crisps w/ hummus and eggwhites, lunch was fiery cashew dip w/ lots of veggies and Annie Chun's Kimchee soup

Dinner was rice paper rolls filled w/ veggies and tofu and a small serving of this WONDERFUL roasted beat salad I made... It had lettuce, roasted purple and golden beats (that I roasted myself!) macerated oranges and grapefruit, honey roasted pecans and a homemade dressing which was called "Creamy avocado and lime dressing"  It contained avocado, coconut milk, fresh squeezed oj, lime juice, agave nectar, and salt...  I'm having the same salad for lunch today delicious!

My weight is heading quickly in the right direction this week for the first time in a long time... I'm getting close to my posted weight and then it is downward!!!

I have exercised every day this week with
Monday:  Soccer
Tuesday:  Lifting legs at the gym
Wednesday: 45 minute step aerobics and lifting shoulders
Thursday:  15 minute eliptical and lifting abs and back

I'm really planning a HEALTHY weekend as they are usually my downfall!!  I will post and stay accountable!!!  Thats what it is all about!!!

I'm really loving calorie count by the way... I think that before I was underestimating my calories sometimes and I love how it gives me extra calories for working out...  Its funny I've been having SO much trouble staying at 1800 calories, but the past 2 days it has been easy!

I just read your previous post - great ideas! Im so glad you have a friend to do this journey with. It makes is sooo much easier when you have a buddy to rely on for accountability and support. I used fitday in the past and it really helped me stay on track with my intake. I use my armband now, which is great since it actually calculates my calorie budget for me!

Hi Everyone!  Had a great day today so far...  I'm trying a new website to track my food... caloriecount.com

I'm doing it "accountability style" w/ my best friend... We both had success losing weight before my wedding emailing each other our food intake and exercise each day and "yelling" at each other to stay on track... (I don't really mean yelling, but its hard to explain lol)

I'll still be posting here, but I might not be posting my exact foods and calories every day.....

Today was really good and I'm at 1500 calories so far...  I did a 45 minute step aerobics class today and wend grocery shopping to stock up on healthy food...

I stayed at work until 9PM last night and then went straight to soccer... I didn't get to bed until after 1AM... YIKES!  I had an 11:30 drs appt today and had planned on coming into work for a couple hours before hand, but I decided to take care of my physical and emotional well being... I slept in until 9AM then spend a good hour cleaning my kitchen... Getting caught up on all the dishes, cleaning out the fridge, etc... I also made a big batch of my green smoothies to last today and tomorrow as well as a healthy salad I just had for lunch... I feel invigorated!!!!!

Soccer was a bit of a challenge after a week off most of which I was sick and completely non active, but it felt good to be back!!!!!  Today my motivation is high so I'm running with it!

B:  Big green smoothie with spinach, protein powder, wheatgrass powder, almond milk, banana, mango and berries...   180

L:  Big salad w/ spinach, tomato, asparagus, yellow pepper, and tomato (30) chick peas (130) olives (50) creamy balsalmic vinagrette (150) slivered almonds (80) onions (60) 500

S:  4 mini flatbread everything crackers 80

S:  mixed nuts (180) and yellow pepper slices (20) 200

Total so far: 960

Goal: 1800

I am happy that you got the chance to rest :) I sure hope the late night games don't happen too often, you would think whoever schedule these games take in consideration that most people have to get up early during the week!! Anyhoo your menu looks awesome today :) have a good one my friend!!

Doesn't sleeping in make a difference when you don't feel well? I too was sick over the weekend and I finally fell asleep at 3am so Monday am alarm at 5:30 was very disturbing so I asked my hubby to text my boss and tell him I had been sick and I would sleep in and come in later when I felt better. I slept until 8:45 and that was the best sleep!!! Glad you were able to get to soccer. I rode my bike today but only for 1/2 of the usual time because the head wind was aggravating my earache. Take that renewed energy and run with it! Glad you are feeling better.

Ended good yesterday, despite the fact that I forgot we were taking my stepdaughter out to dinner... We went to PF changs and their calorie info is online so I tallied it all up and only ended up in the high 1800s... see yesterday's post for details... Also got in my first workout since being sick yesterday... Off to teach a class, check backin later!

B:  2 vans whole grain berry waffles w/ earth balance 250

L:  Large tossed salad:(30), salad dressing bread stick (180) perhaps some pasta, I will report back... Have to eat the lunch my "culinary class" made...

Thanks for the chinup bar advice, yeah hubby is worried about something like that happening with the door frame one. TJ Maxx has them on the cheap too so I'll pick one up at some point. Your dinner last night sounds great!

Calories ended up good yesterday... right about 1800 calories... My husband has taken to making protein smoothies... He had extra yesterday so I had a small glass... Now we put wheatgrass powder in them and spinach and carrots along w/ almond milk, fruit, protein powder, etc...  SO I'm used to it being green but super tasty... Yesterday's had a bit of a funky bitter taste so I asked him what was in it....  Oh thats right, practically no fruit, but plenty of arugula and broccoli... SERIOUSLY???   Men!!!!!  He was all defensive talking about how healthy it was and if I didn't like it I didn't have to drink it... LOL:)

I didn't make it to the gym yesterday as I was stuck at work SUPER late...   Today I think I'm feeling well enough to get my butt there... I have a "mission and values" training for 3 hours this afternoon b/c the nursing home I work for just merged with a giant health care system, so they are "intigrating" the two systems... Fun times.....  Its also suppose to snow here about 6-10 inches tonight.. YIKES, we have been so spoiled w/ no snow yet that I was kind of thinking it just wasn't going to happen... Oh well, I GUESS i cant complain...

B:  early belvita whole wheat breakfast biscuits 230

B:  amy's bean burrito 270

L:  amy's indian meal 280

Total planned so far: 1890... No too bad for going out to dinner...

Goal: under 1800

Workout: 20 minutes on teh eliptical and 20 minutes lifting abs, shoulders, and chest... I felt SO weak... Ugghhh its amazing what a week of laying low will do... Glad to be back though!

Back at work today... Still feeling a bit under the weather, but definitely on the mend...  Its chaos at work as I was at a different facility on Friday and out sick yesterday... I have to leave work early both tomorrow and thursday, so today is going to be a LONG day... I'm going to try to stay positive and just plod along...  I hope to get in at least a light workout at the gym tonight if I'm feeling well...

So I've pretty much been down for the count with this cold/flu type thing since Friday...  Super stuffy, on and off low grade fever, and super weak/no energy...   Saturday morning I felt OK and did manage to go shopping with my mom for a dress to wear next weekend... Hubby and I are going to a benefit through his work the American Heart Association Heart Ball... Its a charity gala and his work purchases a $2000 table so we go... Last year it was actually a lot of fun and the food was relatively healthy and delicious... This year the venue has changed, so I have no idea how the food will be, but it should still be fun... I consider it a success I found a relatively inexpensive dress, that I don't hate even though I'm no where near where I would like to be weight/inshape wise.  The nice thing about the dress it that it will still fit fine and look good probably until I lose about 10 pounds so its a good dress to have for the next few months if I have a wedding or somthing.....

Saturday night and Sunday were spent in my house feeling plain lousy... Eating was not the healthiest... I didn't really over eat, but we did order pizza.... so my choices were not healthy... I went to bed last night PLANNING on going to work today, but I woke up at 2AM with a fever and the chills... I then got the sweats and just felt lousy... I didn't fall back asleep until about 5:30AM... I woke up this morning w/ the fever gone, but still feeling like crap so I called into work... As much as I have SO much to do there, there is no point in spreading my germs around... Plus I figured one more day of rest would hopefully get me back on track to wellness.....

Luckily, tonight is the in between week for our soccer... Each session is 8 weeks and our session ended last week, but a new one doesn't start until next week. There is no way that I could have played tonight....   I did go out to target just a little while ago as I am completely STIRCRAZY and I needed some fresh air after being cooped up in this house for days...  Of course, as always seems to be the case w/ target, I planned on buying just a couple things and spent $100... OUCH... It is a really good thing I don't go there that often, because I swear, I cannot set foot in the store and spend less than $100... its like a money pit!!!!!

Today's eating is a bit wierd as I had pizza leftover so I ate that for breakfast, but my appetite is non existant... I just got some soup "bean curd, vegetable, noodle soup" from the local chinese restaurant... This soup is pretty low calorie as its a clear broth soup w/ just steamed veggies and tofu and I had them add some noodles for substance... But I'm not even sure I'm going to eat it yet...  I'm hoping tomorrow I can get back to my usual style of eating, but today nothing raw sounds good at all.....

B:  2 pieces pizza... blah 700

L:  tofu, veggie, noodle soup... 300

S:  Belvita breakfast biscuits  230

D:  French fries 500

Total so far: 1730

Goal: under 1800

Just give in and take care of yourself. Walk a short walk or stretch if you can. When you are under the weather like that you just need to concentrate on getting better. Eat well while you are sick - meaning eat healthy and hit the workout trail when you have your strength back. We all have had a cold here the last 3 weeks. Better this week!

Ended up having a tofu burrito for dinner and ended the day around 1800 calories... I woke up this AM w/ a worse sore throat and a bit stuffy... I'm still holding out a smidgen of hope I'm not going to get as sick as my husband is... blah!  I'm at a different facility than normal today, I come here once per month for the day... I had an egg and cheese sandwich for breakfast and my step father in law showed up at the crack of dawn to install our christmas gift from him (he is changing out our OLD fuse box for a circuit breaker!!) So... I had no power this am and didn't want to open my fridge... I will update and catch up more in a bit!

B:  egg and cheese on bagel 400 iced coffee 40  440

BTW, thanks for all the info about the essential oils. I cant wait to buy some now!! While on Pinterest, I saw a recipe for homemade dry shampoo. It involves some sort of powder mix and your favorite essential oil. I think I want to try that, since I feel like my hair is suffering from daily washes after my sweaty workouts!

Oh, saw your update on yesterday's entry. Good job on your exercise!

**Forgot to mention the GOOD of my day yesterday, I got a pretty good workout in... I ran for 11 minutes... Did about 25 minutes of heavy leg lifting then did a "tabata" High intensity interval on the treadmill...   6 minutes of the following:  20 seconds sprinting (well at 7.0) 10 seconds rest...  I repeated this 10 times!!

So far I seem to be holding the sickness at bay... I don't feel perfect, but not "sick" either... Hubby is really sick... I feel bad for him, he is MISERABLE!!!  And... don't tell him, but..... he's kind of a baby when he is sick:)  So he is not handling it well at all... I'm trying to nurse him back to health, but so far no luck!

I made my avocado pesto pasta last night as I had basil and an avocado that I HAD to use up... I also had a small baked hot pretzel and 1 serving of dark chocolate... Ugghhhh too many calories...  I STUPIDLY weighed myself at the gym and the weight is higher than I have ever seen... However, I have been focusing LOTS of my working out on strength training, and in my head I KNOW that the scale will be crazy at first... Hubby and I talked about how I'm not allowed to wiegh myself for 2 months unless my clothes fit differently... My work pants are fitting the same as always, not a bit tighter, but for some reason I jumped on that scale and almost cried... up 3 pounds... I think that precipitated my eating too much last night... Sigh... When will I learn, probably never... 

I was really craving protein and caffeine this AM (I've ALMOST given it up... one 8oz diet pepsi per day or none) so I decided to listen to my body without wrecking my calories...

B:  dunkin donuts....  2 egg and cheese wake up wraps (340) iced hazelnut coffee w/ splenda and skim milk??  (40)  380

This morning I weighed 5 lbs more than I usually weight. Im blaming it on tom.....but, i like to think of the increase in the scale as a new motivator because a + in the scale is down right scary!! You'll see if go away lol

Haha! It's nice to have a "baby" for a hubby, IMO! My husband is NOT a baby and wants me to stay away, wants to be left alone in his proverbial cave and I always felt unloved and unable to care for him. It was hard in the beginning of our marriage - I like caring for others - but I got used to it, hehe. I just leave him alone when he is ill, except for an occasional "visit", when he usually tells me to go away.... Don't catch his bug! Good job on the exercising!

Good idea on the epsom salt. I didnt think about buying it plain and adding "flavor" to the bath. DUH! I've never bought essential oils. Can I find them in a grocery store, Target, or Bath and Body Works?

Hello!  Hubby came home from work yesterday w/ a fever, sore throat and runny nose..  He was snoring SO loudly last night b/c of the stuffy nose that my sleep suffered:(  He may be relagated to the couch tonight:)  Unfortunately I feel a sore throat and general malaise this morning... I'm popping zicam and vitamins hoping to fend off this illness!!!  Yesterday was pretty good... I made some coconut crusted baked tofu that was delicious!!!!!  I have to run to a meeting but will check back in in a bit!

I like the Kettlebell. I only have one weight and it's only 8 lbs, but it's a good place to start. Light weight lots of reps on a few exercises. If you have to know what to do at your gym -is there someone you can ask? If not - search for it on Youtube. There are lots of free routines out there.
