I hope everyone had a great easter.   Mine was pretty good...  We ate at MIL's house. She did make a great salad, but everything else was pretty unhealthy.. I had small portions...  Today should be a good day!  Unfortunately, my legs are still SO sore it is painful to do ANYTHING... I slept horribly last night as it was super painful to even roll over!!  I definitely will not be running today!  I'm hoping to lift some upper body!

Hubby works as an HR manager for a contract food service management company at a college.  They are opening a Moes... So as an assignment we have to go eat dinner at Moe's tonight and write down all the prices and his company will pay for it!!!  I'm vowing to get the small burrito and stay clear of the chips!!!!!

B:  veggie burger on pepperidge farms roll 250

S:  cottage cheese 180

S:  mini cadbury creme egg...  I had to have just 1 piece of easter candy!  50

S:  deep chocolate vitamuffin 100

D:  Moe's Streaker burrito: w/ tofu, rice, black beans, cheese, guacamole, salsa, lettuce 6 chips crumbled on top 500

I used to be a secret diner at Bertucci's, it was fun but could be dangerous. Your plan sounds good, have a great week!

Glad you had a good Easter. Small portions - Awesome!

Thanks for the comment you left me. Im still a little sore, so maybe you're right. I hope I have a "least sore day" soon so I can test your theory. I feel like Im constantly sore, lol!

Enjoy your Moe's treat. And yes, stay away from those chips because they aren't anything special!!

lol, love your chip and salsa solution. :)

Hello ladies!  Today is is dreary and rainy here... Sigh... maybe I need tomove sooner rather than later... I guess we will tackle the less fun, but still just as necessary ceaning of the inside of the house... I had a nice relaxing night in with my husband last night and I went to bed pretty early so I'm feeling well rested and with a much more positive attitude...  I'm really going to focus on getting lots of exercise today and eating healthy...

I'd like to retire to some climate that is dry - Arizona? Maybe NewMexico - I love Santa Fe......I'm tired of the rain and the rub is - this summer we will be begging for rain - the wonderfully green grass we are enjoying between showers now will be brown and crunchy! Good walk on the treadmill!

sweetpea1977 on 04/24/2011:
great job with the exercise! yea, I am holding on for dear life when I go down the stairs. I swear my legs feel really wobbly when stairs are involved. Getting up from a seated position is pretty difficult too, lol!

Hope you get some warm sunshiney weather soon!

Really feeling down today... blah... just frustrated with life... Hubby thinks I'm showing signs of depression...  not sure what to think...   I tend to have a manic personality to begin with (big highs and lows) but I have been down lots lately...  I think the news from the DR last week isn't helping, and I haven't consistently "stuck" with being strict with food and exercise...  I did get on the scale this morning and I am back up to my highest weight ever... Not sure how to motivate myself at this point...  The lack of spring here in upstate NY is really getting to me...  Yesterday night when I really wanted to go running out side for example, it was 38, cloudy and 50MPH wind gusts...

On a positive note, after my major talk w/ hubby last week he is doing AMAZING with his eating and working out...

Thanks for the comment you left me regarding sore muscles. That makes sooo much sense!!

Sweetie, don't take this the wrong way, but I have sense a little bit of sadness in your posts lately. Im sure that your recent visit with the doctor has weighed heavily on your mind. Being stuck on a plateau and dealing with a long miserable winter doesnt make it any easier. Back in Dec 2009, I finally reached a breaking point with my extreme mood swings and depression and sought professional help. Just talking to a professional who was neutral to my circumstances made a huge difference.

As for motivation, all I can say is that you have to want to change to be motivated to change. If you think you have that desire to change, dig down deep and bring it back with baby steps. I've seen you motivated in the past, so I know it exists in there somewhere. You just have to believe in yourself and make it happen.

sweetpea1977 on 04/22/2011:
I talked to a primary health care physician because at the time I was uncomfortable with the thought of asking around for therapist referrals. I let him know this as soon as I walked in and he understood. He did a quick physical on me, listened to me sort my problems out, and helped me come up with a plan of action to help me feel better emotionally and physically. He prescribed me some sort of antidepressant and told me to take it on an "as needed" basis, but I didnt need it. He also gave me a few referrals on therapists, but I never called them since I felt like I was more balanced after talking to him. I think just having an outsider listen to me took a lot of pressure off of me. It was nice being heard and to know that I dont have to be perfect to be happy. :)

Hackersdiet on 04/23/2011:
Have you ever heard of SAD Seasonal Affected Depression? Maybe you have that. They sell lights that give off the full spectrum and the light makes your body and brain think it is not winter and then your depression may lift. Also, try sticking with a routine as much as possible. Make a list of minimums to do each day (brush teeth, make bed, get dressed to the shoes, etc.) Make it a short list for the first few weeks and reward yourself with positive comments every time you succeed. You can beat this!

I updated yesterday after dinner... My calories were a bit high (1970) no binging or "overeating" but if I stay around 2000 I will not lose weight... I will not gain, but I know from experience, I will not lose:(  I need to get lower calories!!!!!!!!

Golf went well...  It is TOUGH... we mostly just focused on the proper way to swing last night... So many tiny little details involved!!!  I plan on going to the driving range and practicing my swing at least once between now and my next lesson...  Even though we listened more than we hit balls last night, my upper body is still feeling it, so that is a good thing!  My plan for today is a run after work!

B:  veggie burger (120) on sandwich roll (130) 250

S:  cashews 170

L:  MSF lasagna 270

L:  TOTAL change in plans... my mom works for a school and is on spring break right now...  she lives very close to where I work so she called me up and wanted to take me to lunch!  We just got back...   I indulged a bit, but not too bad... I had a lobster roll, light on the mayonaise a small very lightly dressed green salad and 6 french fries... no idea what the calorie count was, but I'm not uncomfortably full and my plan is to go light on the calories the rest of the day!

*update* its chilly and extremely drizzly here, but I just called the golf course and they said golfing is on... bring a rain coat!  I will update tonight and let you ladies know how it goes!

I ended yesterday at 2160... definitely too high, but no binging or eating out of control so I'm not too mad... exercise was 15 minutes of abs and 2 hours of wine work...  (hand corking, running bottles up and down stairs, lots of stirring a 6 gallon carboy... definitely at least a low impact workout)

Today is GOLF!!  If the weather doesn't fall apart completely... If we are rained out, my first lesson is postponed to saturday... That would be ok too, but I am looking forward to today!!

I'm happy to report I'm feeling much better today:)  I took it very easy las night and got a good nights sleep and I feel like a new women, back to normal!!  Today I have plans with girlfriend (skinnygrl for those who remember her!) we are going for pedicures, having somthing relatively healthy and cheap for dinner, and going out for a night on the town...  I will try to keep it healthy, but this is a planned indulgence, so if I'm a little high in calories I will not fret too much...

I'm having an unfortunate morning...  I got up and was brushing my teeth and husband's prescription was sitting on the sink, I knocked it into the sink...  The top was not on tight...  all the pills went down the drain... He just got it refilled this week!!!  I have a call out to the pharmacy who insists this kind of thing happens all the time...  They are calling the MD (on a saturday?) had said I should be able to get it refilled no prob... I'm REALLY hoping I can take care of it all before husband gets home later!  Otherwise he will make fun of me relentlessly for being a spaz!  LOL!  So I just got off the phone w/ the pharmacy and the insurance company wouldn't let them do a "lost" override so I have to pay for the pills out of pocket... Luckily I was able to salvage 5 days worth of the prescription and the insurance company will let him refill in 10 days, so I only have to buy 5 days worth... for $35!!!  Yikes... I'm used to paying $5 for a month...  I really pity americans without health insurace... Its ridiculous!

B:  Sandwich roll (130) w/ homemade somewhat healthy egg salad:  (2 egg whites (20) 1 whole egg (70) 1/2T veganaise (60) onion, celery, relish (10) 290

Your story reminds me of a woman I knew who was on such good terms with her smash repair man she would take the car in regularly during the day and they would fix it and her husband wouldn't know she had backed into, run into or generally wrecked the car again!!!!!! You are not in her category so I hope you get everything fixed before you get caught!!!!! Her bills were considerable because she couldn't claim on her insurance because he would find out. I won't get my US medical system soapbox out, you already know the rhetoric!!!! Have a good night out and enjoy yourself:)

I ended yesterday at 1680 and I got a run in despite quite annoying stomach cramps...   They finally started to go away last night when I went to bed early... BUT I was up all night with a different type of stomach ache...  I'm thinking that the antibiotics are reaking havoc on my GI system... Terrible stomach pains and "stuff"  blah... I've taken antibiotics lots of times without this issue, but I feel fine otherwise, no fever or body aches or anything...  I am going to try to eat some yogurt every day for the next week, but if that isn't enough does anyone have any other ideas like certain probiotics or anything for keeping my gi track healthy while on these stupid antibiotics?

Culturelle! You can pick it up at the pharmacy, possibly even the supermarket. My pediatrician (also an osteopath) recommended it for my younger son when he was having horrible diarrhea at the end of his stomach flu. It cleared up after the first dose, it's amazing stuff. Just be sure to refrigerate it for maximum shelf life. Feel better soon!

I had a good day eating wise yesterday, my new plan w/ hubby seems to be working so far:)   Today I am feeling a bit down and blah...  I had to have a procedure called HSG to determine if either or both of my fallopian tubes were blocked as a result of a major surgery I had about 15 years ago....   The procedure was quite painful and now I just feel blah and have horrible cramps, sort of period like...  And I have to be on heavy duty antibiotics for the next 7 days b/c apparantly after the test I am at a huge risk of getting an infection in my uterus.. .super...   The results of the test weren't great, but not hopeless either... Pretty much what I expected... All of my friends and my husband thought I was being silly to be worried about being able to get pregnant, but I have had a LOT of medical issues in my past and usually know my body pretty darn well...   The results basically showed that one tube is completely blocked and the other one may have a minor blockage, but nothing too bad...  I'm at a significant risk for ectopic pregnancy and also a significant risk for not being able to conceive at all... But many women way worse than me have conceived naturally...

Like I said, the results were pretty much what I expected...  The MD wants us to "try" to conceive for about 6 months and if nothing I have to go see her to find out what (if any) our options are...   On a humorous note, I said to her "6 months from now?  or 6 months from when I went off the pill?  She said have you actually been trying?  I said well we have been having sex quite a bit... She then told me that "recreational sex" didn't count... LOL!  Recreational Sex?  I just found that quite humorous:)

Anyway, enough of my sob story for today!  Onto health and losing weight:)  I made myself go for a run right when I got home from teh procedure hoping it would help the cramps... Not sure if it helped but I got a 15 minute run followed by a 18 minute power walk in!

That lunch sounds incredible, must try! I'm sorry you had a difficult procedure, hope you feel better soon. I think I may have mentioned this to you, but I was also told I might have a hard time conceiving and also had a high risk of miscarriage because of my lovely sticky blood factor. But I had 2 normal pregnancies and no difficulty conceiving (I charted AND had recreational sex, so there!) Holly's right, anything can happen!

I had 4 kids because of recreational sex. Heck it is suppose to be fun lol.

moogy on 04/14/2011:
It took me a year to get pregnanat with my son, reversed utureus or something like that. In the end there was no 'recreational sex', it was every night for a week either side and through my ovulation (19 days straight!!), in the end my husband would roll his eyes and say 'again'. It worked though, I got preganant. Nothing romantic about trying to get pregnant when there is a problem. There is a job to be done and it just has to get done, in our case during commercials!!!!!! LOL It was 33 years ago and still makes me laugh. Good luck and just do it a lot!!!!
