went for a nice 20 minute run... It felt nice and easy:)

Well even though yesterday was a SUPER hungry day, I managed to make it through without too much damage... I also lifted at the gym... At my husband's urging I also stepped on the scale this morning... His philosophy is that avoiding the scale is avoiding reality and I might as well see how much damage the weekend did... Well imagine my surprise when I was only up 1 pound from my low... I was weighing more BEFORE the weekend... I'm pretty sure my weight was elevated last week from TOM, so I'm feeling quite happy and pumped today!!!!!

B:  Lender's bagel (140) w/ WW cream cheese (60) 200

S:  greek yogurt (120) w/ special k (70) 190

L:  Kashi tuscan bake (260) baked lays (130) 390

S:  Banana 80

S:  Granola thin (80) strawberries (40) 120

D:  Moe's Junior Burrito (600) Few chips and salsa (200) 800

Total: 1780

Goal: 1400-1800

Plan is for a 15-20 minute leisurely jog to just get my body feeling the run and stretch out my poor achey leg muscles:)

If I have any extra snacks during work, I plan on skipping the chips w/ dinner... I think its a good "flexible" plan that will hopefully set me up for success today:)

Progress as of today: 17.8 lbs lost so far, only 26 lbs to go!

So HUNGRY and MUNCHIE... trying desparately to ward off a snack... BUT... I work till 5 and then am going to the gym before dinner... I think it may be necessary... Not too many healthy options here... uuugghhh I already ate my ritz munchables and my apple:(

Well I ended yesterday by running.... 4 full miles!!!!  It was the first time EVER that I ran that far... Husband and I waited until dusk and went to the high school track and ran around 16 times!!!   We didn't bring the watch b/c the point wasn't how fast we did it, just that we were able to!!!  I actually finished faster than hubby though:)  I'm a little sore today and I managed to stay off the scale b/c after the weekend I KNOW I still wouldn't be happy I may weigh in tomorrow or Thursday, not sure yet...

Today husband and I are carpooling as I'm getting an oil change, so it will be a long day at work, followed by lifting at the gym, followed by Salad creations!!!

B:  Banana 80

S:  lite toast (80) almond butter (100) strawberries (40) 220

L:  Amy's enchilada (330) granola thin (80) 410

I saw just42day's comment and say I have to agree. The 20's were fun with college and romance (then marriage), and the desire of becoming healthier after years of abusing my body. However, I have to say that my 30's have been the best and most fulfilling decade of my life so far. For starters, I had Ethan at 30 years old and will be having this baby at age 33! Im willing to bet that my 40's will be even better! :)

**Update**  I just ran 4 miles... for the first time EVER... AND.... I beat my husband:)  Not that we were racing or anything  ;)

Well  I didn't really intend to... but as well as taking a mini vacation from work, I also took a mini vacation from this site and counting calories... Did I do well over the weekend?   NO, not from a diet perspective... but I need to tell myself... this is life... there ARE special occasions and you only live once:)  As long as my weight keeps trending down, I will not despair... That said I'm sure if I stepped on the scale this morning I would not have seen a downward trend... I'm taking a couple days off from the scale, but I'm back on track with my eating and exercising today and thats all I can do...   This weekend was a whirlwind... Thursday night was brother in law's birthday, saturday I hosted a dinner party with lots of family..... I made bruschetta, spinach dip, tossed salad, 4 cheese stuffed shells, eggplant parmesan, roasted broccoli and cauliflower, and bought DELICIOUS italian pastries for dessert... I sent 3/4 of the leftovers home with others and my husband and I had the rest yesterday...

Yesterday was an amazingly relaxing day... I laid in the sun reading, floated in my pool reading, then sat under my apple tree in the lovely shade and just enjoyed my beautiful back yard... I did a little grocery shopping and a little more reading... A perfectly relaxing day:)

Today its back to work and back to running... I did manage a short run on Saturday, so hopefully my body won't hate me today when I get back to it... Only 2.5 weeks until the race... YIKES!!!

B:  Banana 80

Glad your dinner was a success. Good for you on sending home most of the leftovers. Italian food is a weakness of mine so I would have had a hard time parting with it. lol I am so glad you had a good relaxing Sunday too. What a wonderful way to spend a pretty day!

You are right, that this is life, and you have to make whatever plan you are on fit for life. We all deviate at times, and get right back to it.

Well, it sounds like a perfectly wonderful weekend, and we are living in real life when we do have celebrations. Wouldn't it be awful if we removed ourselves from the joy and fun because we couldn't eat the food. Food is so much about celebration, tradition and family. You are right not to feel guilty - just get back on the healthy eating now the celebration is over. Have a great day.

Ugghhhh.... I really have NO restraint for special occasions:(  We ended up going out for brother in law's birthday and I overate... I had a few bites of appetizers... a nice garden salad... then I tried to get an eggplant panini but they were out of eggplant!!!  So I got a lobster pizza... I was pretty good and only had 2 slices... but then brother in law REALLY wanted to go out for drinks, so we went to this marguarita joint where you get a GIANT marguarita for free on your birthday and Ihad 2 marguaritas plus lots of sips of the giant one.... Then we went out to ANOTHER bar and I had another beer... I cam home and ATE THE REST OF MY PIZZA!!! and now I'm in full swing TOM, have a bit of a hangover headache, and have a HORRIBLE weight... GGGRRRR>.. I know the weight is partially last night and partially TOM... I feel like a bloated cow!!!!!  I MUST TRY to be good today... MUST... but all I feel like doing is eating junk... but I know tomorrow will be tough as we are having a dinner party... speaking of which, I reallyneed to get on cleaning my house but my head hurts!!!  Ok... seriously, whining DONE!!!!!

No idea what the food situation will be today but I WILL post as I eat:)

Just finished running... did  6 sprints of varying length with powerwalking in between... Was gone for a total of 27 minutes...  not too bad!

Ugghhh my weight is up 2 pounds today to 177!!!  I'm hoping its b/c I ate 1/2 of my dinner LATE last night after the concert at about 11PM and maybe also b/c of the popcorn (nice salty popcorn) I ate at the concert)..  Plus TOM is coming in a few days (husband says he can already tell my hormones are wacky:))  So that could have somthing to do with it as well.....  I'm about to go outside and do some sprints...  I'm SO behind on my running this week: (   Tomorrow will be my pace run and saturday long run so I'll be back on track!!!!!

Today I am doing the following:  Running, then taking stepdaughter to lunch at salad creations, going to petsmart, and finding brother in law SOMTHING for his birthday...   Then coming home and WRITING THANK YOU NOTES... I am the world's worst bride... I got married October 3rd 2009... and  gulp... they are not done yet....   Thank you notes (while I completely understand them and I'm SO grateful and thankful for the kindness of friends and family who took the time to share my special day) are my nemisis... I feel awkward writing them, have HORRIBLE penmanship..  Like in elementary school I would get straight As and D's in handwriting.  SO everyone always says... "etiquette says... 1 year...  Well I suppose I'm taking that to the max!!!  But seriously girls... If I don't do them this  weekend you must tell me what a horrible person I am!!!!!

Going out to dinner for brother in law's b-day tonight as well... Tomorrow its the deep clean of the house and shopping for dinner party!!!!!

Great job on the sprints/exercise! That's fabulous. Sounds like the weight gain is very temporary given some food was later in the evening coupled with the impending TOM. I'm sure you'll see a decline soon! Good luck getting the thank you notes done. Don't worry about your penmanship. Gift givers DO appreciate the thanks and I'm sure will notice the words more than penmanship. FYI: My cousin's daughter kept putting off writing her wedding thank yous. Then I finally received one ONE week before her BABY shower. The thanks would have been better received had it been timely. Unfortunately, when I received it, right or wrong, I saw it as a gesture to ensure I'd come through w/a baby gift. I am absolutely NOT trying to make you feel guilty. I know writing lots of thanks is lots of work. All I'm trying to do is encourage you to write them. People don't care about your penmanship. They do care that their gift was received and appreciated. Again, please accept my comment as it was intended. Heck - have your hubby write some of them. The gifts are his, too. Share the task!

I dare say eating late, salty popcorn swoollen up in you tummy with water will all account for the scale, you know the drill, couple of days and you will get an accurate reading. Even if you don't send the cards it doesn't make you a horrible person - how about a notice in the newpaper "We would like to thank everyone who gave us a present"!! LOL Have a good day.

*Update*  Well I survived the concert... It was alright and the girls LOVED it so thats whats important:)  I did have some popcorn and a granola bar but I am ok with it... We were in the nosebleed seats and I was drinking water all night, so I literally walked up a TON of STEEP stairs like 15 times, so at least it was a little workout!!!  Definitely can't wait to sleep in tomorrow and have along weekend... Even though I have to clean my entire house and a million other things to do!

Oh I forgot before... My stupid scale had my weight all over the place this AM from 175-177 so I'm just leaving my weight where it is!

Ended up snacking a bit too much last night:(  Ugghhhh sometimes its SO easy not to eat at night and sometimes SO hard... While I KNOW its always my fault and responsibility... I blame husband somewhat last night as he stopped on the way home from work and bought a big bottle of wine...  LOL   I didn't work out yesterday as all the fresh air at the camp tired me out!  Tonight is the big justin beiber concert, so there will be on workout today either:( 

This weekend should be busy... Saturday night we are having my parents, Husband's parents, and my aunt and uncle over for dinner... This means that Thursday and friday (off from work) will be spent cleaning and prepping the food for saturday...  Plus Thursday night is my brother in law's b-day so we are going out to dinner... Grrrrr....

My tentative menu for Saturday's dinner party is as follows:

Somthing else

Tossed salad
Roasted Asparagus
Italian Bread
Stuffed shells
Eggplant parmesan

Either Italian pastries or homemade apple crisp...

Not the healthiest menu, but definitely could be worse too.....

Onto today's plan:

B:  raspberry bagel w/ honey walnut cream cheese (REALLY NEED TOGO GROCERY SHOPPING!!!)   350

L:  Frozen Pad Thai (400) grapes (50) cheese stick (60) 510

S:  Had a LONG group teleconference and they had SUPER yummy cheese and crackers... I broke down and had a few...:(  200

D:  Mr. Subb veggie and cheese sub 600 My plan is to get the sub before the concert and eat 1/2 then when I get home if I'm still hungry I will have the other 1/2 toeat... Each half is 300 calories...  Because I had the extra cheese/crackers indulgence I got it on a flax wrap instead of a roll so each 1/2 is only 240 for a total of 480:)

Total: 1540

Goal: 1400-1800

If you are anything like me, you will burn a ton of calories while cleaning house for two days! If our parents are coming over, you can bet that I will be scrubbing every surface until they shine, lol. Your dinner party menu sounds fantastic. I wish I was invited! :)

I'm sure the girls were delighted to be at the concert. I don't understand the attraction to Bieber but I guess that's a good thing considering I'm about 40 years older than he is. Otherwise my attraction to him would be a little on the sick side.... At least you can a stair master work out at the concert!

Woo Hoo... A new low today!!!!!  It must have been my 40 minute run :)  Luckily my blisters are feeling a bit better today, but I think I will take the day off from running as I don't want to exacerbate the problem... I think I will go to the gym and lift as I haven't done that in quite some time...  Tomorrow I am taking my stepdaughter and her friend to see Justin Bieber right after work (FUN FUN FUN) so I won't get a workout in, but then I have Thursday and Friday off from work, so I will definitely get some serious running in those days... I definitely feel like I am making progress with my running!!!

I work at a nursing home, so today I spent the last 6 hours at a handicapped accessible camp about 30 minutes away with 50 of the elders... We had a dj, camp fire, had a bbq lunch and such... It was definitely a workout pushing wheel chairs up and down a mega hill!!!!!

Hooray for the new low! That's great that you work at a nursing home. Those places really need kind, caring people. I'm sure the campers will enjoyed getting out and it clearly gave you some great exercise in the process.

good job. i am very familiar with nursing homes. my mom works in one. and every weekend i visit my grandmother at an assisted living facility. good for you, that's hard work!

Ugghhh Don't know how I'm going to run tomorrow... These blisters are KILLING me:(  Anyone have any good tricks for running WITH blisters because I really need to run!

*Update* Just had a great run... Ran 3.54 miles in 40 minutes... I was just happy I could run 40 minutes straight lol... I wore new sneakers and got a terrible blister in my arch... OUCH... Guess its back to the old sneakers for a bit... I finished my 40 minutes about 3-4 blocks from home and walked home in my socks b/c my sneakers hurt so much... But still, all in all it was a good run!

Ok so I didn't post all weekend as I was acting as though I'm at a perfect weight and can eat anything I want:(   The whole weekend was really a spiral affect that I just let myself get sucked into... I won't get into ALL the sordid details but here is a brief rundown.....

Friday had homemade Nachos at work for lunch just b/c they were free...  Then went out for beers and appetizers with my husband and got a portabella burschetta thingy covered w/ cheese... We then went to a minor league baseball game where I had more beers and fried dough and then we went out afterwards for more beers...

Shockingly Saturday I woke up with the worst hangover I can remember in recent history...  Didn't care about anything b/c I was so hungover and proceeded to eat a LARGE quantity of taco bell... Moped around all day then went to the fair and had fried mushrooms and came home to have 2 pieces of pizza...

Yesterday I went to Saratoga race track with my inlaws, had no excuse, but was just GROSS...  Had single serving of potato chips for breakfast, followed by 2 small apple cider donuts...  Had french fries for lunch.  Then after the track we went out for chinese food... and how sad is this... that was literally my healthiest meal all weekend...  Husband and I split eggplant and sauteed veggies in garlic sauce and Genreal Tso's Tofu... The tofu isn't breaded like the chicken, so there isn't a lot of fat and oil, just the sauce...

I'm ashamed and pissed...  I have this race in 4 weeks and I'm going on vacation...  I need to get it together and BE CONSISTENT with this lifestyle!!!   I also didn't run ALL weekend, so now I literally have to run every day this week... I have to be perfect...  I just KNOW somewhere I have it inside of me to succeed!!!

Somehow my weight was only 176.6 today, so maybe thats my body giving me another chance???

I need to do my LONG run from Saturday... I'm doing it after work no matter what... Its a rainy day here, so if its still raining, its at the gym and if not its outside, but I plan on running for 40 minutes...

The reason I had chinese for breakfast is that its not all that HIGH calorie its just salty, so I figured the earlier in the day I eat it, the better...

Progress as of today: 18 lbs lost so far, only 25.8 lbs to go!

This entry reminds me of my first weightloss journey. Weekends were very problematic for me and I often complained about them in my Monday entries. Reason why Im telling you this is that this happens to EVERYONE. So, you screwed up big-time. At least you caught yourself before you let it go on before too long. Weekends are hard because they lack structure like the weekdays do. Folks who work have to schedule their eating around their job. Even me, as a stay-at-home-mom and has direct access to food all day is on a schedule because I have a child to take care of and household responsibilities that need to get done. Its when Daddy is home (on weekends) that I have more freedom to sneak treats in. Plus, I have this habit of caving into hubby's bad food cravings whenever he is around. Being around him is what makes me have downfalls, so that is something I will need to learn to confront and overcome.

Anyway, your plan to run every day sounds like a good one. Just be sure to do lots of hydration and post-run stretches.

You will be fine because your determination will help you win this battle. I promise!

Dam girl! When you are that hungover sometimes you have to run for the border! The up side of going to Taco Hell is that it is just like taking fiber pills, lol Shake it off.....Some day soon after we get to 150 Pizza and Beer...Be good this week :)

Yea, I love Mexican food so much. Thankfully, I am able to make my favorite dish (fajitas!) at home. My hubby likes the combo #7 (burrito, taco, and enchilada). Seriously, that trio is always #7 on all the restaurants we go to, lol. Thankfully, he loves fajitas too! I didnt eat that much mexican during my first pregnancy. I ate pretty healthy for the most part, but I craved lots of Italian (pasta!), burgers, fries, and ice cream. Of course, I've heard that eating Mexican and Eggplant Parmasan (from one of my favorite Italian places here) right before your due date will bring on labor a few hours later. So, there are advantages to eating bad while pregnant, hehe.

Well I'm not recording my weight b/c I got up 2 hours earlier than normal, but it was up a pound...  I'm not surprised b/c after I stopped recording lastnight Ihad 2 lite beers and a bowl of popcorn...  We were watching pre season football and I somehow felt that justified the beers lol...  Today will be tricky as we are going to a BBQ and baseball game w/ my husband's work after work today... I will try to stay in check though as I realized the race is less than a month away so I really have to step up my diet and running!

B: weight watchers breakfast 220

S:  nuts (100) and granola bar (130) 230

L:  frozen pad thai (400) apple (50) cheese stick (60) few homemade tortilla chips w/ small amt cheese and salsa (400) 510

S:  Not sure hopefully I won't need one...

actually, i also don't record my weight if it's up by a little when i'm looking for weightloss. Our weights always fluctuate, so I take an increase in weight with a grain of salt. I only record when my weight is down, or when it's VERY up!

*Update*  Had a GREAT 1 mile pace run... ran the mile in 8:53  and my previous fastest for the same route was 9:17 and last week I ran 9:23 so I saw a definite improvement this week... Very Happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well my weight is up very slightly... but to be honest I'm surprised its not up further... Sometimes I swear an alternate being takes over my brain and actions...  I had plans for gym, pilates, and BBQ tofu tacos last night... Was feeling SO exhausted so I decided to skip the gym and somehoe talked myself and my husband into ordering PIZZA... I had 4 pieces (they were kinda small but STILL) then I had wine and popcorn later last night... Uggghhh so mad at myself.....  I know I know... today is a new day and I keep telling myself that but blah... why do I screw up so much sometimes???

Don't worry I did the exact same thing last night... I got home from work last night at MIDNIGHT...not even hungry and I proceeded to inhale 4 of those sample boxes of Total cereal with whole milk and raisins... AND 2 slices of cheese... I woke up twice in the middle of the night like cursing myself out for eating food when I wasn't even hungry... I've been SO bad this week... THE BUCK STOPS HERE!

I think you may be addicted to pizza!!! easily done, I have a take out menu that sits in my diet book, I just look at it and imagine, never have ordered one yet!! Just knowing that I could seems to be enough. I am sorry you are not feeling in control at the moment, if you could just get one good day in, it would give you the confidence to get another one down. I hope today is better for you.

Everyone screws up. You are normal, just like the rest of us. Last night, I gave into pizza because I had a very stressful evening. It felt good while I was eating, but I ended up gorging on it and making myself sick. All you can do is try to remember those feelings of crappiness and try not to overdo it the next time you want to treat yourself to an unhealthy food choice.

You did fantastic with with your pace run. Thats incredible. I mean, I still remember reading your entries went you started doing the couch to 5k training so you really have come a long way in such a short amount of time! You should be very proud of yourself!
