**UPDATE**  I've been feeling very motivated and guilty about my indulgences of the last week today and I am excited to say that I have come up with a new plan...  Its very minor, but to me its a big deal and I hope that it helps me kick this plateau...  I know that even though I count calories, I DEFINITELY eat way too much processed food... even so called "healthy" processed food..  I also eat too many carby snacks...  My new goal is to have 1 day per week where I eat nothing but whole, natural foods, and semi low carb.  Basically, fruit, veggies, beans, tofu, greek yogurt, mueslix, etc, etc...  In time I really hope to convert my eating more to this style, but if I can truly commit to 1 day a week I think it will make a difference mentally.   I'm quite excited about this.  I also think it will help force me to better plan out at least 1 day of my week and prevent me from eating out so damn much...   I think I am going to try for tomorrow!  I will probably plan out the day tonight and prep everything so I'm ready for action!!  Wish me luck and I will let you know how it goes!

Oh and it anyone has any ideas/recipes for good unprocessed, healthy, vegetarian food I would really appreciate it!!

Its as though b/c yesterday wasn't a work day and I wasn't "back in my routine" I took it as an excuse to eat like crap one more day... AND I didn't go running... I'll grant you it was 97 degrees  yesterday, but I need to get back to running... I REFUSE to loose the amazing progress I made that allowed me to run a 5k...  We are in a MAJOR heat wave 97 is the forecast again today and tomorrow like 95... I think I am going to have to suck it up tonight and go run on a treadmill at the gym... YUCK!!  I HATE the treadmill, but I really need to run... I will keep you updated!!  Luckily I did go shopping for healthy food yesterday, so today WILL be a good day...

B:  greek yogurt (120) blueberries (30) mueslix (100) 250

Heat sucks, we have 102 degs here in Lisbon... we sleep naked, without cover and the ventillation working, lol...

Weekends are rough, especially holiday weekends. But hey, it is behind us now and we dont have to worry about another one until Labor Day. :)

I know the treadmill sucks, but I think its safer to run inside (or before the sun rises) than to run in the 90+ temperatures.

slightly up today, but I kind of expected it... We rented the UFC fights last night and I had some baked chips and wine that I didn't count calories for...  I MUST get to the grocery store today...  Grrr... its SO beautiful here that its really the LAST thing I feel like doing!

I did get in a 15 minute run yesterday and I'm hoping for a 20 minute run today but its going to be hot hot hot!  Have a great 4th of july everyone!!! I'll report back with my food as the day goes on...

I couldn't believe it... I hopped on the scale this AM and  a slight loss from my last weight?????  I'll take it... Yay for vacation maintenance...  Now I REALLY need to find  a way to break this plateau and get into the 170s once and for all!!!  Today's plan is our favorite salad creations, then grocery shopping to restock the house with lots of healthy food!!!!!  I'll report back with my day!

Could not wait for husband to get out of bed and go to salad creations... I was STARVING... LOL

B:  Pomegrante greek yogurt (140) w/ mueslix (100) 240

L:  salad creations salad... couldn't come anywhere near finishing the salad 500

Vacation maintenance is an incredible achievement!!!! Good for you! I'm sure you'll break that annoying plateau but you should feel fabulous for maintaining your weight during a vacation. That's wonderful!! Enjoy your day!

I understand completly wanting to see the 170's, that seems to always be my toughest weight to get into, it seems like every time I get close to that I hover aroung 183, but you are so close I know you can do it!

Well I would say in terms of healthfulness the trip was half success, half failure...  On Monday we went to the water park and I literally burned thousands of calories at the water park... didn't count calories or eat health food but was very good on the calorie control...  I woke up tuesday and literally felt like I used to in college the day after a rugby game...  I felt like I had been beaten in my sleep and was covered in mild bruises... This water park is INTENSE and I attacked the rides like I was still a kid... Tons of fun... but definitely don't want to go again for a while...

Tuesday we left for atlantic city and I was pretty good with my eating tuesday and wednesday, plus we walked the boardwalk... My husband LOVES poker and he played games at casinos up and down the boardwalk... Its probably 1-1.5 miles from the one end casino, to the other, and over the course of the 3 days I'd say walked up and back 6-7 times...  Plus on wednesday hubby and I did a beach walk that entire distance and back...

We didn't go running like we planned b/c literally by yesterday we were still SORE... From the race, water park, boardwalk walking, my body literally didn't recover from that race last saturday until today... 

Unfortunately, Yesterday and today, my eating went out the window... Pizza, TONS of tapas, lots of alcohol, toast and scrambled eggs, etc, etc, etc...   I do feel rested and relaxed and I'm very happy that I still have saturday, sunday, and monday off from work...

Plan is as follows:  Do not weigh in tomorrow...   Too painful I'm sure...

Stick with the plan tomorrow!!!!  1600 calories...  15 minute run tomorrow and hopefully also a 30 minute walk...

Running program starts back up next week!!!  Were hoping for another 5k later this summer!!!

I will catch back up on everyone's diaries over the next couple days and welcome to the new girls that have joined since I was away, I can't wait to get to know everyone!!

Sounds like your trip was wonderful and you definitely got some solid exercise in with all the walks and water brutality! well my weight is holding steady so far... I guess not counting calories, but exercising a ton are canceling each other out so far... Thats my goal for atlantic city, to just maintain my weight NO GAIN...  We leave in about 1.5 hours, but I just wanted to pop in for a quick hello!!!  Talk to you all soon!

Quick entry today... Went to watersafari and cannot imagine how many calories I burned, those hills and stairs are long and plentiful!!  Tomorrow We leave for atlantic city and we either come home Friday or we may go to our friends on the way home for a party and come home sunday... I'm going to try to make healthy choices and run a couple times... I will report back with my weight and how my vacation goes when I get home!

well my weight was up .6 today from 2 days ago, but thats ok... My legs are literally SO sore it is tough to walk... the first few steps after I stand up are more like stumbling... lol...  I'm meeting my friend at the farmer's market in a couple hours and getting this SUPER yummy healthy indian food for brunch... Unfortunately I woke up STARVING and had a mini portion of leftover eggplant parmesan, its SO yummy!!!

Later today I'm going to my friend's house to swim in her in ground pool and see my cute baby god daughter...   Not sure what, if anything I will do for exercise today, as my legs are screaming!!!  Tomorrow is the water park, so I know that will be lots of exercise...

B:  Tiny portion of eggplant parmesan w/5 pieces of ziti... 300 calories

L:  indian food: 2/3 cup rice (160) 1 cup stirfried veggies (100) 1 cup veggie curry (200) 460

Total: 760

Goal: 1600

ur day sounds fun, swimming is exercise too remember, so i wouldnt worry about doing much more than that if ur legs r still hurting like they r now, dont wanna push urself too far, enjoy ur day :)

Didn't weigh myself this morning... thats ok...  5k went really well... I finished in 35:59 and my husband finished in 32:09  both of us beat our best training times and the training was on a track while the race was in a SUPER hilly neighborhood...  We were talking to some fellow runners who said it was the hardest 5k in the area... Yay!  It was actually really fun, I can't wait to sign up for another one!!!!!  Not sure if I'm counting calories today... All spring during training, I told myself I would take today off from dieting and eat what I want, but we are craving healthfood lol...  Going to our favorite salad creations for lunch!!!

B:  Banana 80

L:  Salad creations 650

D:  2 pieces pizza (600) and 3 breadsticks (400) 1000

Ok now the trick is getting back to counting calories tomorrow!!!

Total:  1730 

Goal: 1600

Exercise:  5k!!!!!

I came home from work early and took allergy medicine and feel a MILLION times better... I went for a 10 minute run just to stay loose, had a salad for lunch (I figured early in the day was fine) and now I'm having eggplant parm and pasta for dinner... YUM!!!!

well my weight is back at a reasonable amount... My allergies are OUT of control today... Thightening/sore throat, chest pressure with super deep breathes, and sinus pressure out of control... Part of me thinks I'm also freaking out about my race tomorrow so thats not helping the cause...  Today's plan is to do pretty well calorie wise, but I'm actually most focused on eating easily digestible foods... For once I will keep my fruit/berry/vegetable intake somewhat low... I am prone to GI issues and I don't want any problems during my race tomorrow... A stomach ache would be no fun!

B:  2 eggwhite and cheese wake up wraps from dunkin donuts 300

L:  salad from new salad restaurant (good, but not as good as salad creations)  it was much smaller and they didn't add as much vegetables, plus you were limited to the number of veggies you could get...  Also no nuts 500

D:  I'm not really counting calories for dinner... I'm just going to practice good portion control...  Small portion eggplant parmesan and about 1 cup of pasta w/ sauce, plus 1 piece bread and butter...   Yum... Carb loading... I may have to do races more often so I can eat this food... lol!

S:  only 8's ice cream cone 150

Total: 950

Goal: 1600

Not sure how many calories my dinner was... was it more than 650?  Probably, but not by too much... I was good with the portion control... Its crazy how big the portions are... We got eggplant parmesan-2 orders from a local italian restaurant...  There were 3 of us and we barely finished one... Literally I understand how america is fat if 1 person is supposed to eat that entire serving!!!!!
