Well at least I did not move backwards again today... Yesterday was NOT GOOD... No exercise... I had a $1 fries from burger king, slice of pizza, piece of chocolate bar, 1 glass of wine... GRRRRRR!!!  SO mad at myself, but I must move on and be good today...   On a brighter note, we officially registered for our first 5k race today...  Its June 26th so there is no backing out now!!!!!!!  

Today is an easy 20 minute run for exercise...  The run went well, we waited till sundown when it was a nice 60degrees... I definitely feel like I am getting faster!!

B: arnold thin w/ peanut/almond butter 200

S:  grape tomatoes 25

L:  frozen meal w/ extra veggies (250) greek yogurt w/ museli and berries (200)  450

S: primal jerky (100) granola bar (120) 220

D:  Tried to replicate salad creations: Spring Mix, tomato, orange pepper, zucchini, broccoli (50) pickled beets (20) chick peas (150) 1/2 avacado (150) mango salsa (30) lite sour cream (40) 1/2 oz cheese (50) 490

S:  3 slices "turkey, cranberry, and stuffing" tofurky spread with a thin layer of strawberry cream cheese 100-  very wierd but actually kinda good...

Basil bean salad is white beans (like cannellini or great northern beans), chopped tomato, basil, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. Sooo yummy, especially when ice cold!!

Yes, I wear a heartrate monitor. The one I have is a chest strap and watch, which is supposed to be the most accurate way to determine calorie burn. It allows you to enter your current weight, age (which determines you maximum heart rate), lets you customize which target heart rate zone you want to reach (beginner vs elite athlete)and lets you know how long you stay within that range. Before I got this monitor, I had no idea if I was ever reaching my target heart rate. Apparently, I wasnt due to the 8 month plateau I was on before I got it. I wear it when I do cardio (not weightlifting, since I know that doesnt burn many calories). Being able to see my current heart rate allows me to push myself harder for a more effective workout. If your heart rate isnt getting high enough, you wont lose weight. This is one reason why plateaus happen. Our bodies get stronger and more used to the exercise we demand it to do so it doesnt take as much effort to get the work done (less calories burned). So its any easy and instant way to find out if you are working hard enough for weightloss!!

I love the one I currently have (Timex Ironman) but my dream is to get a GPS heart rate monitor from Garmin (several hundred bucks!!)! Anyway, I highly recommend getting one, even if you start off cheap (I think mine was right around $100 from Sports Authority).

Sorry it's still raining by you. :( Don't know if you've ever tried kettle corn instead of regular popcorn. Because it's a little sweet, you don't have to add salt which I know I really want to do w/regular popcorn. I really like the Orville Redenbacker brand of kettlecorn. I'm sure you'll get back on track today. Hope you have a great day!

uuuggghhh I went to the movies last night and had POPCORN...  It was delicious, but SO not worth the calories... uuugghhh moving on today!!

Its pouring rain out today so we will see what kind of workout I get in...

Workout:  5k run... shaved 6 minutes off of last week!!!!!!!  Of course no hangover and 20 degrees cooler helps but 6 minutes... still 37 minutes, so a long way to go, but I'm seeing progress!!!

170s baby!!  Of course my ever so helpful husband pointed out that I could be dehydrated from drinking wine last night... pish posh... spoil sport... That said I won't be surprised if I'm back up a pound or so tomorrow, but for today I'm psyched!!!  Today is another day off... I could get used to this 4 day weekend business... lol!  Going running with my husband tonight... I may do a nice walk a little later just because it is finally BEAUTIFUL out...  Starting out the day laying in the sun with a good book...

Even though it is supposed to rain all day, there was a slice of blue sky, so I took the opportunity to squeeze in a 25 minute power walk... I must say I have missed walking... I've been focused SO much on jogging/running (which deep down is NOT my favorite.. lol) that I haven't had any good walks this spring/summer so far... It felt good... Now deciding whether to go to the gym to lift...

Well I'm surprised to see that I didn't have a gain after the saltieness and extra calories that I had at PF changs last night... Happy... but surprised... I took today and tomorrow off from work as I have 14 days of PTO that I have to use up before october 1st and all I have planned off is a week at the end of this month...  Today I think I am going to go lift at the gym a little later and then I am going to my best friend's house to see them and their new baby-my goddaughter...  I made dinner for them of my butternut squash macaroni and cheese, and I will make balsalmic roasted asparagus as well...  I plan on having a very small portion of the macaroni and cheese and lots of asparagus...   The macaroni and cheese is SO good and when I make it here I use low fat milk and low fat cheese...  For them I used full fat, so I must remember this when I eat my portion!!!

Today's plan :

B:  2 slices weight watchers toast w/ 3/4 T almond butter and 2 strawberries sliced up 190

S:  raw shredded veggie salad at coop SO YUMMY!!   100

L: Salad from this place called bountiful bread while out running errands:  Spring mix, carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers (50) 2 slices avacado (50) chick peas (50) goat cheese (80) croutons (100) orange dijon vinegrette (80) 1/2 individual baguette (120)-they included it and it lookes SO good I couldn't resist!  520


D:  Very small portion butternut squash macaroni and cheese (300) asparagus (50) maybe a cresent roll? (100) 450

Total so far: 1260

Goal: 1600

I'm leaving extra room b/c I'm sure I will have some sort of indulgence I don't plan for at my friend's house

and I'm back up a pound today... I kinda knew that yesterday was an anomoly, but thats ok... I went about 150 calories over yesterday with a glass and a half wine treat, but thats ok...  I did 3- 1/4 mile "sprints" yesterday seperated by a 1/2 mile walk between each one... We went to the high school track to do this...  I have read that if you incorporate a speed workout into your runs, it will help your overall pace in a 5k, so here is hoping, b/c right now i'm SLOW!!!   Today is a lifting day at the gym and I think we are getting burritos for dinner tonight...  For some reason its only 9:37AM and I can already tell I am STARVING today... ggggrrrrr!!

B:  vegan veggie burger on arnold thin 170

S:  sweet potato tortilla chips 140

S: cherries 50

S: wheat crackers 100

L:  lean cuisine (230) greek yogurt w/berries and special k (210) 440

S:  cheese stick (60) granola bar (100) tomatoes (20) 180

D:  Moe's junior homewrecker no cheese (380) 1/2 of the chips w/ salsa (200) 580 change of plans we went to PF changs instead... I didn't stay within my calories... I had 2 spring rolls, some spicy eggplant and some ma po tofu with brown rice... Probably about 1000 calories...


Total: 2080  YIKES... I need to be perfect tomorrow!!!

Yesterday was a great healthy day... met my calories perfectly with healthy foods and did a nice 20 minute run... Today I may do sprints with walking, we will see how our legs feel tonight...

Yep, it's a Hungry girl recipe. Think I may try to make it w/ww noodles and keep the noodle portion to a reasonable size. Perhaps throw some grilled chicken on top to make it really filling if the noodle portion is small. Thanks again for your feedback!

The dinner was surprisingly DELICIOUS!!!  And super filling... I swear they aren't kidding, the lentils are literally expanding in my stomach as we speak!

Well it looks like I've officially lost a pound... today is my 3rd day  in a row in the 181s... now its on to the 170s... I was really happy yesterday, got a good lifting workout in and kept my calories very low (like 1400) so that was a success... Will update later with today's plan... Happy monday everyone!

Exactly, that's the point! My man is a meat lover, he always does meat, 7x a week he eats meat (he shouldn't but he doesn't have high cholesterol so far so he's not aware.. well, MEN!) and it's very difficult to keep me out of his range of food, as I really like poultry. I'm not a fan of cow/pork at all. And now you don't eat fish at all?

Got a super cute workout tank top with built in bra and running shorts (they are SHORT!!) and the cutest workout skirt... its spandex shorts covered by a little spandex skirt... I'm kinda silly but I always get excited and motivated by new work out clothes...

I'm also excited b/c I got my first veggies from my garden.  I ate two radishes... They were SPICY... its amazing how much more flavor they had than the ones I buy from the store...

well yesterday ended up ok... We didn't end up going out for drinks but I did have a GIANT burrito at from this take out place... but I still ran for 42 minutes and did a complete 5k in the 90 degree heat and humitidy...  Yay me:)  It was awful but at least I did it... 

Today We are getting ruby tuesdays and treating ourselves to new work out outfits!!!


Lunch:  Ruby veggie minis (1 roll no mayo) 400 ruby salad bar (100) forgot about mashed cauliflower too (100) 600 calories
