I couldn't believe todays weight:)  Today has been busy and productive so far!!!  I got up and we went to lunch at this awesome salad restaurant, went to the bank and lowes... Came home and dug up our lawn about a 15x15 patch for our garden!!!  We took a break half way through to do week 4 day 3 of couch to 5 k, then we planted out "hearty" vegetables, peas, rasishes, broccoli... Those are all ok if it frosts again... Tonight we are meeting friends for drinks... ut oh... but We are eating dinner before we go so I will keep my calories low... so far today

L:  giant salad veggies (50) swiss cheese (100) dressing (200) wontons (100) sliced almonds (100) 550

well....I ate horribly the rest of the day, but didn't really go over in calories with FOOD... but I had about 8 bers... oops but thats ok... I had fun and I haven't been out for drinks w/ friends in ages...

D: Cheese and veggie quesadilla... 500

S:  oops... McDonalds French Fries (I made my husband stop on the way home... bad beth!!!) 500 calories

8 beers....  I can't even bring myself to put the 1000 calories up on the board... but there it is... Aggghhhh!!  Luckily I don't have any nights out like that planned until June next... lol

Total:  2550!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Goal: 1600

Today's weight... 187... I guess my body was just holding onto water from working out...  I also changed my starting weight, because I put the 190 in like a month ago, but when I really started posting every day two weeks ago, my first weigh in was 193.8... I was just ashamed to put it in... lol   So now I have lost 6# in about 2.5 weeks.. I will take it:)

Today will be wierd... I don't have to go into work until 11:30, but I am working at a rehab center, not at my normal job.. I don't think I'll have a chance to eat lunch there so I'm trying to wait an hour and have a "brunch" then I will also bring a granola bar or somthing in case I get hungry... Tonight, my husband mentioned being in the mood for the ruby tuesday's salad bar so we may do that...  Aggghhh too much eating out... If my husand had his way we would eat out every single night!!!  If we don't go there, I'm thinking veggie burgers with baked fries and veggies again, that was SO good earlier this week...   I just talked to hubby on the phone and he said veggie burgers sounded great!!!  So that is somthing I will have complete control over... Yay!

I'll report back with food and/or activity later... Happy friday everyone!

I really can't believe my calories are so low so far today... I feel like I have eaten quite a lot for that few calories...   I guess eating in really helps you eat less calories...  I didn't go running or to the gym today, but I'm thinking maybe I will do my wii fit later... The super hula hoop really gives my midsection a workout:) 

I guess maybe I will have 2MGD 64s and possibly a snack later on... Its nice to be left with calories for later..

Ok... I think having all those calories left after dinner is DANGEROUS because I am a SNACKING machine now...  I guess its ok as long as I stay in my calories, but eating all this PM food is bound to be bad on the scale tomorrow... We will see...

(I've cut and pasted this from my comments because I'm still not really sure how this site works. If I respond to your comments on my page, do you get them OR do I have to put them on your page? Sorry, but I'm a newbie....)

I'm sure you can make the chips without the parchment paper. (I honestly don't know how wax paper fares in a microwave.) While I'm very pleased to see some pounds go away this week, I'm trying hard not to get too excited about it because prior to this week I was on a serious, serious multi-week feeding frenzy of pizza, casseroles, potato chips and fast food. I'm appalled how much food I can put away. At the same time, I'm hoping this week's loss will keep me seriously motivated and that I can turn around my bad, bad, habits. Thanks for the encouragement. It really does help!

Yeah the sugar free puddings are awesome! I also like the new yoplait delight yogurt parfait things..they are only 100 calories and delicious! Great job with calories yesterday. You can definitely eat a lot more of your own foods and still add up to less calories =) Hope the rest of your Friday night went well and that you have a good day today!

uuuggghhh 189.4 today... YIKES... Now I am starting to rethink my plan... maybe I am underestimating my calories???  Maybe I am just having a fluctuation?  But that was up almost 2 pounds overnight...  I know the greek salad could have been higher... maybe it was the slice of italian bread???  I'm definitely a bit discouraged though...  Maybe my muscles are hanging onto water after lifting tuesday?  I am still sore... Or finally maybe it was my beloved only 8s cone... Either way... today I need to be on point...

I was planning on ordering chinese and watching the draft tonight with my husband...  but uuuggghhh not sure now... I was thinking of getting tofu with veggies and seschwan (spelling?) sauce... and having 1 cup of rice for a total of  Veggies(50) tofu (150) sauce (200) 1 cup rice (200) 600 calories... but now I'm afraid that I'm still underestimating... anyone have any other guesses???????

B:  100 calorie pack of almonds

S:  140 calories of rice cakes

L:  Mexican salad:  lettuce and salsa (30) cheese (100) sour cream (60) corn (100) 4 tortilla chips (120) 410

S:  sugar free pudding (60) strawberries (30) 90

D:  Chinese food as described above.. except  had 1.5 cups rice (250) so I'm thinking the total was 650

S: 2 glasses of wine 240

Total:  1630

Goal: 1600

No exercise today as my upper body is still sore from lifting and my legs are sore from running yesterday...

Our bodies fluctuate up to 2 pounds every day so don't stress about it! As for Chinese tonight, your calories sound about right, the only other factor would be the salt. They always put a lot in take out food and that can cause water retention and a gain. Anyway, don't get discouraged, just stay on track and keep eating reasonably! I would just say that maybe weighing once a week might be better because of the fact that our weight naturally goes up and down each day and that can drive us mad! Have a good day and enjoy your evening with your husband!

Restaurant food is high in salt, so thats probably the culprit. Increase you water intake to flush out the salt and bloat from your system.

You should try cooking your favorite takeout dishes yourself. Weight Watchers has a great recipe book called "Take-Out Tonight!". It has lots of ethnic dishes in it (greek, thai, chinese, mexican, indian), so you should be easy to find something to soothe your cravings. Cooking meals yourself allows you to control what goes in it, ingredient wise and calorie wise. You wont have to estimate on calorie intake and you'll save lots of money! :)

These guys above are right and I even looked at some of your late entries and you have been talking about how salty some things were. I just can't weigh very often because I get so discouraged if my weight fluxuates much at all so I only weigh once in awhile. Also if you are unsure of calories - try calorieking.com or livestrong.com (the daily plate selection on the livestrong site) Youo can look or and/or track everything on there. I carry a little "pocket spiral notebook" with me and write it all down ! LOL ! Good luck - don't get discouraged, keep on doing the right things and the scales WILL reflect it. P.S. I notice a BIG difference on the scales on days I walk or don't walk and I think some of that is water......You also may be right about the lifting making your tissues retain water, too. There are just too many variables when you weigh everyday.

Oh, I forgot to tell you something. When you weightlift, you are likely to gain weight due to increased muscle mass. But dont let that scare you, because muscle is more dense than fat (takes up less space than fat) but burns more calories at rest. As long as you do cardio each day, you will see gradual fat loss. Fat loss for weightlifters happens more gradually than a person who does cardio as their main form of exercise. I know this from experience because I lost the majority of my weight by walking 3-5 miles a day back in 2005. When I plateaued, I added weightlifting to the mix and I lost about half a pound a week for the next few months. This time around, Im doing both cardio and weights and am seeing a gradual decline in weight AND inches. You may want to start tracking you inches in addition to weightloss to help you stay motivated. :)

Weight this morning 187.8... I was expecting a gain as my burrito was SO salty, so I was actually pleasantly surprised... My muscles are sore today so that must mean yesterdays lifting did its job:)  Today's workout is week 4 day 2 of couch to 5k...  Husband didn't feel like running, so he wanted to put it off till tomorrow-but tomorrow is my planned relaxation day so I went by myself and I felt great:)

B:  Mini Bagel w/ veggie sausage and fat free cheese  200 calories

S:  granola bar 100

L:  Terrayaki/Tofu bowl (290) lite and fit w/ blackberries (100) 1/2 cup tortellini and veggie salad (100)

S:   popcorn 100

D:  Greek salad w/ lettuce, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, and feta, croutons, and dressing (400) slice italian bread with lite margarine (200) 700 calories

S:  My brother in law was coming over and stopping for ice cream... I caved in and got an only 8s small cone... only 150 calories, but it does put me over for the day, but thats ok it was worth every calorie and put a big smile on my face

The greek salad was an estimate...  Anyone have any idea what they think it was?  I did take off half of the feta b/c I know its high...   I put my own croutons on it so I know it was about 50-75 calories worth of croutons... I used about 3TBLS of dressing... It was a vinegrette from the restaurant... so I think 500 is about right...

Total: 1740

Goal:  1600

 my goal for tomorrow is to stay at 1400 calories... I like to switch up my calories a bit to keep my body guessing!!!

Its been awhile since I've eaten frozen meals, mainly due to high amounts of sodium that is most of them (lean cuisine, smartones, etc). I've only had Amy's soups and maybe some frozen Indian meals a couple of years ago. They must have expanded her line to other ethic dishes since I last purchased frozen meals for myself. Thanks for telling me about it!

I was psyched when I weighed in this morning...  All of my hard work from last week is starting to show on the scale... Sometimes I get so frustrated to think that I'm excited to get to 187.6 when I used to weigh under 150 5 years ago... But I have to nip that kind of thinking in the bud... Every loss is a success:) 

Today I have a lunch meeting...  Some drug reps are bringing panera... They said they would bring veggie sandwiches, so it should be ok... I just looked up nutrition information on the panera website and the sandwich is 610 calories... ouch!!!  I'm thinking 1/2 sandwich and the fillilng out of the other half (the bread is the highest in calories!!!)  I'm also hoping that they will bring salad..... 

I will definitely update after I eat as this is just an estimate...

B:  lite and fit yogurt w/ blackberries 100

S:  sugar free pudding 60

L:  veggie sandwich 350, salad w/ small amount dressing 100

S:  granola bar (140) handi snacks (100)

Lifting went great AND I had exactly what I hoped to have from Paneras... 1/2 a veggie sandwich and lots of green salad w/ a small amount of balsalmic...  I'm planning on a small weight gain tomorrow as my burrito was quite salty and I'm super thirsty... but thats ok I'm planning it...

Activity:  My legs are SORE from my run yesterday so my husband and I are going to the gym to lift upper body for 45 minutes

I experienced the same gain in weight that you did: from 125 to 158.5. It's SO easy to do, isn't it? Well, like you said, let's be positive and not dwell on past errors.

That Panera bread is sop good! In case there's nothing to make a doggie bag out of, why don't you bring a plastic bag and take home half of it? It's too good to leave! Save it for a treat or dinner later.

I hear ya on the weight gain. I was 148 lbs back in 2006...seems so far away right now! But, this time, I am totally appreciating every little loss I am being blessed with. I'll eventually reach my goal and Im going to enjoy every day it takes to get there!

Well my weight was back to 189 today even after a planned slight cheat yesterday... YAY!!!!  Today I plan on eating perfect

running got postponed till tomorrow as we were outside doing physical labor... We dug 3 holes (4 feet deep) and put 3 posts in the ground, ran wire along all the posts, and dug and planted 7 grape vines... We hope to make our own wine... Fall 2011... Ouch...  Tomorrow is the run:)

Deep breath. Sometimes if we stress we sabatage ourselves. There are alot of things out of your control, but your choices don't have to be one of them. YOU CAN DO IT! P.S. I had to laugh a little about taking husband's lunch to work. Not that it's so funny, but that's exactly like something I would do! Hope your day turns out better than you think!

Holly is right. There are a lot things we have no control over, but what we do have a say in is the choices we make. Even though you feel that your day has started off badly, you can choose to make the best of whats left of it. Laugh at your mistakes, appreciate the things you do have, and push through those obstacles.

Weight was down slightly from yesterday at 189.6  so at least I'm seeing the 180s I think... Maybe my 188.6 on tuesday was a fluke, but I'm keeping it up there as a motivation that yes I am making progress:)

Today my body will be thrown off a bit as I had to get to work an hour and a half early...I already ate breakfast and normally I am just getting up now, so hopefully I won't be starving all day...  Today's plan so far...

B:  Dannon lite and fit and 8 blackberries 100 calories

S:  kashi heart to heart crackers 140

L:  I have to teach a "culinary training" class for our CNAs here at work and their final "exam" is today... They cook us lunch...  They are making a tossed salad and spaghetti and meatballs...  bigserving salad w/ fat free dressing and a few homemade (SO delicious) croutons  (130) 1 cup spaghetti (160) with 1/2 cup sauce (60)... I figure I just can't risk the meatball... Too big and fatty... Plus I'm really trying to keep my diet mostly vegetarian... 350

 S:  turk'y veggie burger on mini bagel 190

D:  Take out chinese!!!  1.5 cups steamed white rice (250) 2 cups steamed veggies (25) 3oz steamed shrimp (100) 3tablespoons garlic sauce on the side (150)            500 calories

S:  Only 8s small ice cream cone... 150 Ok I am SERIOUSLY addicted to this stuff!!
