No pop, nothing after 7pm, 125 ounces of water, 15 grams of carbs, and 1613 calories. B - 2 eggs and 2 slices of bacon. L - Hardees Low Carb burger and a Diet Coke. D - salad w/ bacon bits and 8 ounces of beef. S - 1 ounce of cheese and 2 ounces of smoked sausage.

Today went a little easier than yesterday, mainly because of going to Hardees to try the low carb burger. Basically they just wrapped the sandwich with lettuce instead of buns, cut down on the ketchup (I had them hold it altogether), and cut out the pickles. It really was pretty good and it only totalled 5 carbs. Ever since they've changed to the "thickburgers", I've loved going there again. I'm almost contemplating going there daily until I get sick of it, which would probably be about a week.

Even though today went easier than yesterday, I'm still not real enthused about eating so much meat, eggs, and cheese. Saying that seems pretty weird to me though, because I usually have to have meat with every meal anyways. But, usually it's with a boatload of carbs at the same time......I LOVE pasta, bread, and potatoes! I'd kill for some fettucine alfredo, french fries, or fresh baked rolls right now! Oh well, maybe in a month or two......

It's funny how 2 or 3 months can both seem long and short at the same time. If you're working towards something you desire a few months off, it seems like it takes forever. Yet if there's something you're dreading and / or need to prepare for, it seems like it's here in a relatively short period of time.

Your weight is just falling off. How are you liking the low carb? DOes it make you tired or give you bad breath? My freind is doing it and he hates it but he likes the weight loss so he will continue but he says it makes him very tired and dizzy and gives him terrible bad breath. Just curious...hope you have a great day today!

No pop, nothing after 7pm, 125 ounces of water, and under 20 carbs for the day. B - 2 scrambled eggs L - salad with carb free italian dressing and 8 ounces of steak D - 6 oz. steak, small can of mushrooms w/ butter Snack - 3 ounces of cheddar / mozzarella total carbs - 18 total calories - 1390

Well, my first day on the Atkins diet. I made it through the day alright. It started easy, but by the end of the day I'm sitting here kind of tired of meat and cheese already. In the induction phase you're not supposed to go over 20 carbs per day. I don't know how you guys / gals on Atkins do it. Everything that I look at has mega carbs. I'm not ready to give up after only 1 day though, so I'll be at it again tomorrow. I'm starting to think that it's not the lack of carbs that will cause me to lose weight, but the fact that I can't find any food to eat with low enough carbs or any food that I'm not sick of eating (meat, cheese, eggs). Who knows, maybe I'll adjust and like it......

No pop, no snacks, nothing after 7pm, and 125 ounces of water. Cereal for breakfast. Lunch at Applebees consisted of riblets, fries, and boneless buffalo wings w/ blue cheese. Supper was a Subway chicken & bacon wrap.

Over the past few years I've got in the habit of going out for most of my (and my family's) meals. It's been a combination of busy lifestyles, constant house remodeling, and the fact that my wife doesn't like to cook. Today I went and bought an Atkins book and another low-carb cookbook. I'm thinking of trying to incorporate some of the things from these books and try to eat out less.

I've been rethinking things on when to weigh myself. There's pluses and minuses to each way. Having not weighed myself for weeks has kept me from obsessing about my daily up or down movements. However, when I weigh myself daily it's on my mind more and I'm usually more careful with what I eat / drink during the day. I think that I'm going to switch back to weighing myself nightly again for awhile.

No pop, no snacks, nothing after 7pm, 100 ounces of water. Cereal for breakfast. Lunch was an "orchard salad" at Elmer's. An orchard salad is a large serving of lettuce, walnuts, blue cheese crumbles, turkey, cranberries, granny smith apple slices, and a hot bacon dressing. (I also had some blue cheese dressing with it.) Frozen meal for dinner.

I couldn't wait for the first of the month to weigh myself, so I weighed myself today. No pop and about 100 ounces of water today. Cereal for breakfast. I had 1/2 a doughnut at church.....it was really calling my name. Lunch out consisted of steak, shrimp, potato skins, and a salad. I had a handful of nuts at around 9pm.

Didn't weigh myself today. No snacks, nothing after 7pm. Some salami and a piece of ochra for breakfast. I had 2 hamburgers, some potato chips, fruit salad, and about 20 ounces of pop for lunch. Dinner was a tossed salad and a couple of pancakes. I know that's a wierd combination, it's just what was there at the time. For the first time in a few days, I actually got 100 ounces of water in today.

Didn't weigh myself. No pop, no snacks, only about 70 ounces of water today. Cereal for breakfast. Lunch was soup and salad bar. Healthy Choices frozen meal for dinner. I had a craving for a snack later at night and ended up eating a couple ounces of cheddar cheese and a couple slices of salami.

ADDED IN RESPONSE TO JELLYBELLY'S COMMENT: Yes, I'm eating plenty. I've just gone back to making my lunch meal the "heavy" meal of the day. I'm guessing the soup and salad bar was somewhere in the 1,000 calorie range, which would bring my daily caloric intake to somewhere around 1,800 calories.

What I ate at the soup and salad bar was: 1 large stacked plate full of lettuce and every imagineable type of topping including blue cheese dressing, hard boiled eggs, bacon bits, 3 different types of shredded / crumbled cheeses, cottage cheese, potato salad, etc. Then I had a large bowl of clam chowder with crackers and scones. Actually now that I'm thinking about it, it may well have been more than 1,000 calories......I was pretty stuffed.

Are you sure you're eating enough? I'd pass out if that's all I ate. Just concerned. Maybe the salad bar had a lot on it?

Thanks...I like that idea no eating after a certain time...thats usually when I eat the wrong foods...I'll try that no eating after 7:30p...its a new habit thats for sure...I know what you mean about eating just to keep awake...sometimes the road can be mesmerizing...I found ice chips and apples cut up helped me...the apple takes a while to chew and takes a little bit longer to digest...in my own mind it kept me fuller longer...and the ice chips helped me to stay awake and it also lessened the pit stops...lol
