Weight: 130.0

Our gig as B & B host/hostess is finished! Again, I didn't have strong resistance. Hope this isn't a sign of things to come on our trip to the US! NO. NO. NO! I WILL use sense in eating on my travels!

Those chunky chocolate chip cookies I bought for the guests to have with tea were so yummy!  I gave them 3 of which they ate 2.  So 5 - 2 = yep, you guessed it.  Has 2 big glasses of red wine after dinner.

No way I would ever want to run a B & B. They are so much work!  We only had 2 guests but when the house is full it must be a nightmare. They are given a menu for breakfast and of course everybody wants something different. This morning the man wanted 1 fried egg, 2 pieces of bacon, 1 sausage, 2 fried tomatoes, fried mushrooms, black pudding, baked beans. The woman wanted 1 fried egg (at least they wanted their eggs the same way), 1 bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, baked beans.  Hubby cooked, I served, and cleaned up. At least we didn't have to clean the bedroom and change the sheets (a cleaner will do that). You'll be surprised to learn that neither of the couple were overweight. But a lot of people will do that on holidays - huge breakfast.  We have done the same but I'm a lot better than I used to be.

Workout - at home:

  • dumbbells
  • planks
  • push ups
  • side dips with dumbbell
  • lots of abs
  • thighs/glutes with ankle weights
  • squats
  • lunges with dumbbells

To help with the guilt I'll probably do jump rope, exercise bike or some other cardio.

Menu:

  • B:  bacon roll (mmmm), 1 poached egg, 1 bite of sausage, 1/2 Danish, baked beans, tea w/milk
  • L:  1 multigrain toast w/pbj, yogurt
  • S:  fresh pineapple, clementine
  • D:  veggie curry & rice, salad, drink
  • S:  Bottle of Stella Artois the B & B guests left, oatcakes
  • Teas & water

TOTAL:  unknown

Progress as of today: 37 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

Congrats for surviving your stint as a host..I think that is really nice of you and hubby to do this for your friends, even cooler is they are going to take care of your yard during your visit to the states!!I think i would have enjoyed cooking for others, I know weird right? LOL Have a good day Annie :)

supercheese on 05/22/2012:
Wow congrats!! Sounds like a big job!! LOL my parents use to eat the same way and they are so small...I KNOW if i ate like that it would be trouble!!

liza36 on 05/22/2012:
Taking care of a B&B does sound like a lot of work. I know you'll do fine with sensible eating on your trip, no problem!

hollybelle on 05/22/2012:
It sounds like your friends got the best deal on the barter/trade Hosting for lawn mowing, but then again, I haven't seen your yard! I was just thinking about vacation strategy when I was commenting on Supercheese's diary. I used to cut back so much the week or two before that I totally went nuts with food on vacation. I just wish I had a vacation planned to use some strategy for! Maybe in the Fall. Around October. We'll see.

Umpqua on 05/22/2012:
Yay for making it through your hosting gig! I would probably eat a lot given that B&B menu, I find it hard to resist bacon and eggs. Oh and I didn't steam the wallpaper off, soaked it with a water/fabric softener solution and scraped it off. It's a long and tedious process but a good workout at least with a great payout in the end!

TheMother on 05/22/2012:
I'm smiling as I read your post. I had never stayed at a B&B until my trip to Lancaster, PA. It was a delightful experience but I also realized that having this type of business is a LOT of work plus you never know who will be staying under your roof. I'm not sure that it's all that profitable either. Glad your stint is finished (as are you). To thank you and your hubby, your friends should mow your lawn, water your plants, walk your pets (if you have any) for at least TWO months - not just while you're away. Have a good day.

sweetpea1977 on 05/22/2012:
lol, one of the things I want to do when I win the lottery is to go to cooking school for the hell of it. I dont want to open a restaurant, I just wanna expand on this cooking passion of mine. I'd love meeting new people at my B & B, though Im sure its also a lot of work. I think ideally, I'd rather own a few mountain cabins, spend thousands of dollars decorating them to perfection, and renting them out as vacation homes (when Im not using them!) and make lots of money off of them.

I still dont know what a bacon roll is...Im sure its fantastic. I LOVE BACON!

sweetpea1977 on 05/22/2012:
holy crap that sounds soooooo good! lol

thinkpositive on 05/22/2012:
Loved reading about your B&B hosting. I have a friend ( his wife & good friend who ran it with him died about 8 years ago) who runs a B &B in ME. I realized that I'm not up for being that sunny in the mornign with strangers. That's a big deal to serve such an extensive cooked to order breakfast. I liked the B&B in Hawaii- bed and beach! they just drop off a basket of muffins & leave coffee on in an outside area. That would be my speed!

nunnermack on 05/22/2012:
Your posting made me chuckle. I know how it goes...you can't waste the food ESPECIALLY cookies!!

Hiya girls! Hope you all had a good weekend. We are back at the B & B tonight for one couple who are coming. They leave after breakfast tomorrow and that'll be the end of our gig. I picked up some goodies for the guests as there aren't any fresh ones in the B & B. We are supposed to offer them tea and a snack when they arrive, so I bought a bag of 5 bakery chocolate chip cookies. As you can guess, I will have 1 or 2 of them unless I can get hubby to eat one. I also got 3 Danish to add to their bread tray for tomorrow's breakfast. Bought a couple of bakery rolls for hubby and me so we can have bacon rolls for breakfast.

Our friends offered to pay us for our work but a better exchange is for the husband to cut our grass while we are away in the US for nearly a month.

Then I'm going to be VERY VERY GOOD until we check into the airport hotel on Monday night. Just hoping our friends don't invite us for a fattening dinner with lots of wine when they come back from their trip!

Workout at the gym:

  • 35 mins spin bike
  • about 10 mins elliptical as I was short of time
  • 4 sets of 10 on 6 resistance machines
  • cables/pulley for triceps

I will do the at-home strength training tomorrow.

BTW Sweetpea, I finally tried triceps dips and they are hard! Will keep doing those and have added to my routine for our trip.

Menu:

  • B:  porridge/raspberries/skimmed milk, tea w/milk
  • S:  post workout:  2 oatcakes and pb
  • L:  2 Quorn Southern style patties on 1 slice multigrain with light mayo, yogurt, peas
  • S:  pineapple
  • D:  veggie curry & rice, salad
  • S:  chocolate chips cookie(s), small slice of apple pie, maybe a glass of wine

TOTAL:  should be well under 2,000

Progress as of today: 37 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

hollybelle on 05/21/2012:
How neat that you can trade tasks with the couple at the B & B! I love that kind of cooperative effort. I have often thought that families should share cooking - one family cook a meal for 3 families and give to two others - that way everyone would get 3 meals and cook once and have three diff things. Weird?? I will say I would probably be picky about who I co-ooped with on that one! Tri cep dips are my favorite tricep move. They are hard and that's probably why I haven't done them in AGES! LOL Keep up the good work!

Umpqua on 05/21/2012:
What an awesome barter! I always thought it would be fun to work at a B&B, but not on a regular basis. You get the best of both worlds this way, very nice :)

P.S. Those tricep dips are in my Brazil classes and they are killer but very effective!

supercheese on 05/21/2012:
oooo breakfast sounds yum!!

Bikiniwax85 on 05/21/2012:
Cookies??? I might have all if I were you! hahhaha.. Love the work out! Triceps dips is my weakness! I will always need to slow down when I do it during my body pump class! huhuhu

V on 05/21/2012:
Gotta love the tricep dips..I used to suck at them, now I aim to crush them everytime :) Have a good evening!

V on 05/21/2012:
Oh and P.S. No way would I give up any if today's classes..The self inflicted condition, I did this myself.. V plays, V Pays... Hahahaha

sweetpea1977 on 05/21/2012:
I'd love to run a B & B, but Im not sure how disciplined I would be cooking and serving all the rich foods. lol! Im drooling over all the goodies you bought for your guests. Anyway, I like the payment you asked for. Thats great you'll have someone to care for your yard while you are away!

And a big yay for tricep dips!! Using your own body weight is an awesome resistance tool! :)

moogy on 05/21/2012:
I am sorry, you lost me after bacon roll. I have bacon in the freezer, should I, should I?????? LOL Love bacon rolls with brown sauce:) The lawn mowing sounds like a great swop, your garden looks huge:)

Well, we stayed the night at our friends' B & B and I will confess that I did indulge but could have been worse. Way too many Scottish shortbread cookies!!  Couldn't seem to leave them alone and I believe they are made with butter. I only had one glass of wine which is odd for me, especially when staying in a house with a huge wine selection. Had a small slice of apple pie with ice cream.

This is a rest day so no workouts, although cleaning up this morning at the B & B felt like a workout.

  • B:  poached egg, 2 slices of (meaty) bacon, 1 sausage (not very fatty), toast, shortbread.
  • L:  Was putting away the breakfast stuff and noticed leftover English muffins and a jar of Nuttella. So I toasted a couple of those.  The wife had made me a small apple pie, so had a small slice of that. More shortbread.
  • S:  clementine, yogurt
  • D:  something healthy, probably a veggie curry & rice, salad
  • S:  Might share my bottle of hard pear cider with hubby, a couple of oatcakes

No idea how many calories I had.

Our friends are still away till Wednesday and have a couple of guests coming Monday night, so we'll be staying the night again.

It's getting very close to when we leave for the US, so I'd better be careful or I'll be needing to lose when we get there!

Progress as of today: 37 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

LeakingLife on 05/20/2012:
So are you having to do the cooking while you're doing the B&B stint?

Stay strong with your choices. Definitely above and beyond the call of duty to be exposed when you're trying for the best possible food choices:-)

BTW, have you been practicing your meditation recently? I hadn't noticed that you'd mentioned it.

Keep up the good work--your consistency is sooo admirable!

V on 05/20/2012:
Hey Annie :) I hope you are having a good time!

hollybelle on 05/20/2012:
In a B & B with delicious food someone else made for me......I couldn't have done any better. It's good to enjoy special foods and then back to regular choices. Makes thosoe special things even more so.

Oooo....I LOVE Scottish short bread cookies too!! I'm just getting caught up with your posts. That sounds wonderful staying at the B&B and helping out. I always said I wanted a B&B in Vermont but I know it's a lot of work. Hope you stay there is joyful with the guests!!

Hello girls!  Well, the evening ended in an unexpected way! Hub and I had dinner at 5.30 and just after 7.30 I was enjoying my glass of wine and oatcakes and got a phone call from our friends wondering why we hadn't shown up for dinner. Long story short - miscommunication between the 2 hubbies.

Anyway, we said we couldn't eat but we'd come over. Had lots of red wine and I had a brownie with ice cream. Later in the evening after several glasses of wine the wife offered me the last brownie. Didn't want to hurt her feelings, so I ate it. OMG!

Our friends have a B & B and they are taking a trip for the next few days and we are hosting their guests and spending the night at their house tonight and Monday night. The meatball and steak curry that was supposed to be our dinner last night has been saved and hubby and I have that for dinner tonight. My husband is cooking breakfast for the guests tomorrow morning and I'm helping serve and clean up. Chances are good that I will have bacon and eggs for breakfast as the smell will fill the house and make me drool. The bacon here is not like American but is sort of like Canadian but better. There will be cakes, doughnuts, and homemade breads there to tempt me, but I'll try to be strong.

Workout:  (I didn't do my at-home after gym workout yesterday so did it this morning, and added in a bit of cardio as well.)

  • dumbbells
  • planks - 2 types
  • push ups
  • side dips with dumbbell
  • lots of abs
  • thighs/glutes with ankle weights
  • squats
  • lunges with dumbbells
  • jump rope - 100
  • 10 mins on my exercise bike at high speed/resistance

Menu:

  • B:  porridge/raspberries/skimmed milk, tea w/milk
  • L:  tuna sandwich w/light mayo, 2 slices wholegrain bread, yogurt
  • S:  clementine
  • D:  leftover meatball & steak curry & rice, naan bread, and ??
  • Red wine

TOTAL:  anybody's guess

Progress as of today: 37 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

That reminds me of when my daughter, sister and niece went to a cute B&B in Lancaster, PA. The owners were away to attend a wedding so their good friends were our hosts. They were very nice and we had a lovely breakfast. I'm sure that despite the work, you will have a lovely experience. Have you ever done this for them before? Good luck in abstaining from the goodies. You can do it!

Hiya girls!  Recovered from yesterday's killer spin bike class.

Didn't have time for the elliptical today as I wanted to pick up a few things at the shop before I caught the bus. But then I didn't need to rush as I ran into hubby in the locker room as I was leaving and he was coming in to go swimming. He had driven and told me to take the car. So I didn't have to rush while I shopped.

When walking past the chocolate section debating about whether it would be safe to have a dark chocolate bar in the house, this brazen wee Cadbury milk chocolate bar just jumped right into my trolley.  Tried to force it back on the shelf but it was stronger than me and I finally gave in. 95 calories. Not the end of the world. Just finished letting each of the 3 bites slowly melt in mouth to get the full flavour. Whew! Maybe I should avoid that area of the shop on future trips?!  Or not.

Workout - gym:

  • 35 mins spin bike
  • 4 sets of 10 on 6 resistance machines
  • cables/pulley for triceps
Workout - home:
  • dumbbells
  • planks
  • push ups
  • side dips with dumbbell
  • lots of abs

If I have enough energy left, I'll also do my lower body routines instead of waiting till tomorrow.

Menu:
  • B:  porridge/raisins/almonds/skimmed milk, tea w/milk
  • S:  post workout:  2 oatcakes w/pb
  • L:  2 scrambled eggs with 1 slice low fat cheddar, multigrain toast with light spread & jam, 3 bites of yummy chocolate
  • S:  2 clementines
  • D:  leek/potato/pea soup, toast w/light spread, salad, drink
  • S:  1 glass of red wine, 2 oatcakes
  • Teas & water
TOTAL:  1739

Progress as of today: 37 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

liza36 on 05/18/2012:
What a nice hubby to offer you the car. And that chocolate, well...that's an essential in life and you handled it very well. Have a great weekend.

hollybelle on 05/18/2012:
Chocolate is a real treat. Every other week I have been buying the Lindt Excellence Dark Choc with Chili. I can have two squares for 95 calories each day for 5 days. It's a nice afternoon pick me up!

Umpqua on 05/18/2012:
I love Cadbury milk chocolate - 95 calories is great though and makes it a nice little treat. You're doing great :)

Doesn't it melt wonderfully pressed into the roof of your mouth? I only have dark chocolate now, but love love love Cadbury milk choc, especially black forest!! I read ran into hubby in the locker room and was expecting something spicy!!! never mind! Hope you have a wonderful weekend annie:)

OMG, my legs!!!  I did my lower body routines at home this morning (lunges/squats/ankle weights) and then went to my spin class which was really intense! More than half the 30 min class was high resistance with lots of jumps and hill climbs. I'm going to end up with legs of steel!

Worked out a strength routine which I intend to do at least 3 times a week while we are away in the US for nearly a month. I don't want all the muscles I've built up to turn to flab while we are gone (it felt like that after the long xmas trip). I won't have dumbbells or ankle weights but have a good variety of routines. Need to find more upper body stuff though as all I have listed so far is pushups.

I'm not worried about getting in cardio this time as there will be lots of walking, cycling (including a 33 mile bike trail we're doing), canoeing, at least one 50 spin bike class, and a few times on a treadmill.

Workout:

  • lunges with dumbbells
  • squats
  • thighs/glutes with ankle weights
  • 30 min super intense spin bike class

Menu:

  • B:  porridge/raisins/almonds/skimmed milk, tea w/milk
  • L:  2 slices multigrain toast w/pbj, yogurt, small glass of skimmed milk, 1 light oat/fruit bar (I was really hungry!!)
  • S:  banana
  • D:  leek/potato/pea soup, homemade seeded wholegrain bread w/light spread, salad, drink
  • S:  low cal hot chocolate, 1 oatcake w/1slice low fat cheddar
  • Teas and water

TOTAL:  1649

Progress as of today: 37 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

Umpqua on 05/17/2012:
You are so prepared for this trip, I'm sure it's going to be a much different experience for you. I love your scheduled activities, canoeing will be great! (I love kayaking although I don't get to do it often.) Have a good one and try to relax those sore muscles!

liza36 on 05/17/2012:
Such a great strategy to have workouts planned while you travel.

I want to try a spin class eventually. I feel like I need to increase my stamina a little before trying it. I'm super impressed with your workouts.

getmebackto150 on 05/17/2012:
menu looks good! DOesn't it hurt SO good when your legs are sore? I love/hate every moment of it:)

hollybelle on 05/17/2012:
My legs sympathize with your legs! Mine aren't so sore as much as TIRED. They have more miles to go, before they rest, though. I like your thinking - legs of steel! YES! I can tell mine are getting a better shape and tightening up all over. It's a good feeling! I saw canoeing in your activities list. I love to Kayak and canoe. I wish I had one or the other. There are some on sale in the newspaper. But I worry about lifting it up and down on my vehicle to transport. They only weight about 50 lbs, but they are ackward to handle. There are a couple of reservoirs I could drive to easily, but I would be doing it by myself as husband only walks.

sweetpea1977 on 05/17/2012:
yep, he starts school August 13th! Im sure I'll be an emotional mess that day, lol.

great job on the exercise this morning!!

As for what to do for upper body while in the states, you can do: a variety of push-ups and planks, tricep dips using a chair or coffee table, table top planks with tricep dips, side tri rise, and supermans. Do you have a resistance band? If so, you can easily pack one of those in your luggage. If not, you can find them in most stores. They are so versatile as you can do a wide variety of arm, shoulder, chest, and back work with them. P90X has a lot of exercises you can do without weights or with bands, so let me know if you need some recommendations. :)

Umpqua on 05/17/2012:
Yes I did get sinus pills and they have made a huge difference - thanks so much for the recommendations!!

V on 05/17/2012:
Wow you killed the workout you're a machine Annie! Sweetpea has some great suggestions as to ad lib exercises when you are in the States :) I hope you had a good day <3

Hiya ladies! Hope you are all getting healthy and fit! Gym day today but I did a bit too much chatting while there. Still managed to get in most of my workout though.

Had some veggie curry last night which I had frozen a couple of months ago and it had lost a lot of its flavour, so I couldn't finish it. This sparked an 'I'm hungry and not getting enough calories' binge. Fortunately there were no 'forbidden' sugary or other foods in the house. So I had 1 or 2(?) light oat/fruit bars, quite a few oatcakes - one with a slice of low fat cheese, one with pb, a cappuccino.

Back on track today without any or very much damage I'm sure. I'm fairly content with my size now although I'd love to get rid of the rest of this belly!

Workout:

  • 35 mins spin bike
  • 30 mins elliptical
  • 4 sets of 10 on 6 resistance machines
  • missed my cable/pulley for triceps

Home workout:

  • dumbbells
  • planks
  • push ups
  • side dips with dumbbell
  • lots of abs
Menu:
  • B:  porridge/raspberries/skimmed milk, tea w/milk
  • S:  post workout:  2 oatcakes w/pb
  • L:  cheese sandwich on multigrain bread w/mayo & lettuce, yogurt, 1 oatcake with the rest of the liver pate
  • S:  banana
  • D:  leek/potato/peas soup, homemade seeded wholegrain bread w/light spread, salad, drink
  • S:  light hot chocolate, dried apricots, light oat/fruit bar
  • Teas & water
TOTAL:  1660

Progress as of today: 37.6 lbs lost so far, only -0.6 lbs to go!

supercheese on 05/16/2012:
oooo so you're one of those people that sit around and just chat lol jk :) Food looks good! and so does workout!!

Good Morning Annie :)

getmebackto150 on 05/16/2012:
Definitely disaster averted by not having any "trigger foods" in the house... Your menu looks great today!

sweetpea1977 on 05/16/2012:
Yay for no trigger foods in the house! :)

You'll lose that belly, just keep up the good work!!

liza36 on 05/16/2012:
I agree with everyone that not having trigger foods in the house is good. Your binge doesn't sound that bad, and nice you can recover quickly from it. Have a good workout.

Noticed below about the capris, are you about to go down to the next size? Hope your day is going well--keep up the good work!

thenewMLE on 05/16/2012:
Oh, Annie, I always forget to make the list and inevitably something is left behind. But my hubby and girls are list makers! I've always had the attitude if I forgot something it's replaceable or I really don't need it. Fortunately I don't take any medicines and I don't wear contacts so other than that, unless I forget to pack underwear, I should be fine! (Even then, I could wear a swim suit instead!!) I probably won't talk to y'all until I come back. I hope your trip is great!

LeakingLife on 05/16/2012:
I'm notorious for not shopping until it becomes a crisis. I will try on and try on and never find anything that looks right and it gets old really fast. So a couple of years ago I went to Tractor Supply Store of all places (who knew?) and bought two pair of jeans that I really liked. I was surprised at the selection they had. Of course selection means nothing if nothing fits right. One of them is becoming threadbare. They're two different sizes and I'm like you with the capris--strategically wear a belt and top so they're not too baggy looking. At least they're comfy--haha!

I lived in Melbourne for three years when my husband was in the RAAF, the weather was bloody awful! Never could tell if it was going to be cold, hot, rainy of what. I used to wait for my neighbour to hang out her clothes before I did just to be sure. Of course, it is so much closer to Antartica than we are so they have a 'real' Winter. We only have a pretend one:) LOL I am sure your dress only need a couple of decent new moon slices taken in at the sides, a really easy job, isn't there anyone who sews in your family? I mean your shoulders won't have moved in, so they won't need altering. I rarely just throw out a garment I am too small for (hah! doesn't happen that often!) I just adjust it and keep wearing it. I would have made a great pioneer!!! LOL

V on 05/16/2012:

That is a good idea to purchase while you are in the US..That would save you alot on shipping.. Most of the ab programs promote overall fat loss but take your time and browse through all of the programs they offer..Most of them have short videos with a detailed view of what each program entails.. Have a good one!

Hiya ladies! Changing my calorie plans as I don't feel I'm getting enough fuel on all of my intense workout days. Since I began to have a snack immediately following my gym workouts I feel so much better and recover quicker. The best one I've found is 2 Scottish oatcakes (a bit like a big round cracker but made with oats (86%), oil, sea salt, baking soda). I put 10 g of non-sweetened pb between them. Feel revived immediately!  I bring a sandwich to eat after my spin class as it finishes after my usual lunchtime.

2 weeks until we fly to the US! All of my capris but one are too loose but wearable. I need to buy some belts.  I'm going to bring the dress I have although it's really way too big in the top but will have a couple of days to try to buy one there before the wedding (and cheaper!).

Workout:

  • thighs/glutes with ankle weights
  • squats
  • lunges with dumbbells

Menu:

  • B:  porridge/raspberries/skimmed milk, tea w/milk
  • L:  2 Quorn southern style patties on 1 slice multigrain bread with light mayo, peas, yogurt
  • S:  fresh pineapple, strawberries
  • D:  veggie curry & rice, salad, drink
  • S:  dried apricots
  • Teas and water

TOTAL:  1409

Progress as of today: 37.6 lbs lost so far, only -0.6 lbs to go!

Have fun in the US!! Where are ya going?

Kati on 05/15/2012:
YAY for the US trip, are you planning to visit some DD gurlz on your way??? :)

getmebackto150 on 05/15/2012:
Yay for loose clothes!!!!! I think having a snack after your workout is definitely a good plan... Need to fuel your body!

Bikiniwax85 on 05/15/2012:
Jelouse with your work out! Thanks for the advise dear. Will keep that in mind all the time :)

thenewMLE on 05/15/2012:
I'm actually enjoying the bike rides! The muffins are low fat, no sugar and whole wheat! It's the ones that I soak the whole wheat pastry flour overnight in buttermilk. In the morning I add splenda and truvia and instead of the butter I added 1 tbs coconut oil and 4 tbs applesauce. I put vanilla and almond extract and cinnamon for flavoring. Our trip is to Cancun, Mexico. I took my oldest on a trip there 4 years ago as a mother daughter senior trip from high school. Then the youngest graduated and we did the same thing, but I LOVED this resort (Sunset Princess in Playa del Carmen) so I told the girls the Daddy would love it (he is not much of a traveler) so we went last year to celebrate our 50th birthdays, our 25th anniversary, oldest's 21st birthday and youngest's magical birthday (she turned 20 on 11/11/11!) He had so much fun that he booked this one the day we returned! And I can't believe it is here already! Have fun at the wedding in case our trips overlap. we have no internet or phone while we are there (and I kind of like that!) Good luck finding a US dress!

Umpqua on 05/15/2012:
Upping your calories sounds like a good plan, you need fuel to burn fat. I'm often surprised when the scale moves after a higher calorie day but there's definitely something to that!

hollybelle on 05/15/2012:
Good sounding nutrition in that PNB and oatcake. Gotta fuel the body. So happy your capris are too loose! I love that. I can't wait to "complain" mine are too loose to wear - hey I can hope!

sweetpea1977 on 05/15/2012:
Great plan for your fuel intake. You've really increased the intensity of your workouts lately, so it makes perfect sense to adjust your calories!

TheMother on 05/15/2012:
Isn't it simply wonderful to be able to fit into the smaller sizes? I'm starting to "shop" from my closet and the feeling I get from wearing something that was once too small is simply priceless! It brings tears to my eyes. Have a good day today.

V on 05/15/2012:
Hey there Annie! I hope you had a good day <3

moogy on 05/15/2012:
If I were to be there I would take the dress in for you:) It probably only needs to be taken in through the underarm to the hip, easy job! I love real oatcakes but the only ones we get here are imported (from Scotland) and cost a fortune. Only the desperate expat Scots buy them I suspect, I buy Birds custard powder and Tate and Lyles golden syrup oh! and Fry's peppermint creme from time to time. These are all on the pricey side but remind me of my childhood and are very good products.

thinkpositive on 05/16/2012:
Great job on your exercise to be in looser clothing. Two weeks for you & 3 weeks for me. Can't wait!

Love the higher calorie day! (Unfortunately, that's my everyday!) Workout and menu sound great.

thenewMLE on 05/14/2012:
Good Luck today! Your exercise looks intense while your menu looks inviting! I want a toasted cheese sandwich - maybe Wednesday! I like pepper jack cheese on a multi grain artisan bread with grilled tomato. And I will try your hot chocolate soon. I usually only like hot chocolate in the winter, but this winter was so mild I may have only had it 3 times!!

getmebackto150 on 05/14/2012:
Your menu looks delicous! Got to love high calorie day! have a good one:)

thenewMLE on 05/14/2012:
Yes, it WAS intense!! She fit me for my bike at 7:55am and class started promptly at 8:00. I thought there would be some serious cool down easy ride time for at least the last 10 minutes, but the easy ride was only 2 minutes and it ended at 9:10. We got off the bikes and stretched for maybe 3 minutes (obviously not long enough for my thighs!!) There were probably 6 series of speed increasing, then intensity increasing then as she called it finding the mud resistance, then racing, then standing racing with more intensity, then bringing it down with the same intensity and sitted racing, and then backing down the intensity and slowing down the momentum a little, stretch while riding and then starting over. And she lied and said that this was the last one so after everyone gave their all, she said, oh, no, I see another hill -- bitch... Maybe one night I will crank the AC down real cold and indulge in your spicy hot chocolate! I love to be under a quilt, all snuggly with a fire when I drink it!! Enjoy your dinner.

Umpqua on 05/14/2012:
Yay for higher calorie day! What do you take for the sinus headaches? Claritin allergy pills help me a little, but something that specifically targets the sinuses would be great!

supercheese on 05/14/2012:
Have a great day annie!!

LeakingLife on 05/14/2012:
Hope it's a great week for ya'!

Umpqua on 05/14/2012:
Thank you, I'm going to look for those pills tomorrow!

sweetpea1977 on 05/14/2012:
Menu and exercise plan looks fantastic!

hollybelle on 05/14/2012:
First you take 3 hummingbirds.....Nah! It's a great 3 layer cake with crushed pineapple, bananas, pecans and cream cheese icing! No low cal at all-high fat content. But wonderful once in a blue moon.

V on 05/14/2012:
Hey Annie :) I'm happy to hear you went higher with the calories today, you had a killer workout, you have to fuel the machine <3 I hope you had a splendid day!

hollybelle on 05/14/2012:
Yes! The hummingbird cake is alot like carrot cake. It doesn't have all the spices - just a little cinnamon and of course, not carrots.

moogy on 05/14/2012:
I am back and now you only have two weeks until you see your grandchildren!!! Whoo Hoo! Nice to have a day when you can have a little treat:) Good for you annie:)

nunnermack on 05/14/2012:
Such a healthy day for you!! You are an inspiration and I just noticed you are actually below your goal. That is TERRIFIC!! Hope to be there myself someday soon.

thinkpositive on 05/15/2012:
So how often do you have a high calorie day & is it when you do more exercise?

The sun block is a drug store brand - Rite Aid. I think there is a name brand like it, too. I don't remember the name of the brand, though. You might be able to google unscented spray sunblock.

V on 05/13/2012:
Happy Mother's Day Annie <3

Response to your comment- many of the folks in the hospice are Chinese speaking so difficult to communicate with them, but did speak to a S'Porean man on Sunday about local issues. Hope you had a good day!
