Weight: 162.0

I have absolutely no plans for today. No exercise. And no menu plans.  My side/back still sore and I think it's from spending too much time in recliner with curled up and bad posture and also falling asleep on sofa.

I slept for 3 hours last night. Thought we were going to see other states called last night so we stayed up. Realized this morning it was a waste of time to stay up so late. Anyway, I hope we will be celebrating sometime today. And I hope my son is looking down from heaven (if there is one) and he will be happy with result. He and I were completely alike politically - same with other son and almost all of my family.

It was 7 months yesterday since I lost my precious son.

Progress as of today: 9 lbs lost so far, only 17 lbs to go!

Maria7 on 11/06/2020:
Bless your heart, Annie, and I know it has been a very long 7 months of grief for your sweet Son. If he was anything like his Mama, I know he was a very sweet person!

grannyannie on 11/07/2020:
Thanks, Maria. Yes he was very sweet.

Maria7 on 11/07/2020:
Looks like we have a new President, Annie.

grannyannie on 11/08/2020:
I am thrilled!

Horn_of_plenty on 11/07/2020:
I'm sure your son is looking down, like Maria says. ;)

grannyannie on 11/08/2020:
Although I'm not religious I like the idea of him sitting beside John Lewis, RBG and others smiling at the results.

Feeling very positive about the election but not going to breathe easily until it's official.

I tweeted a photo of my son and asked those in my home state of MIchigan to vote in honor of my son. I can’t believe I got more than 10,000 likes and it was retweeted hundreds of times. And lots of heartfelt condolences. Made me cry! Such lovely people.

My side and back in the injury area is very achy and has been for a few days. Maybe the workout I did with dumbbells? Not sure if I’ll do any workout today. Still tired from my all nighter even though I got 9 hours sleep last night.

Enjoyed seeing my friend for her birthday yesterday. Had to sit on the deck and it was cold. So cold beer wasn't as welcome as normal. Next time I'll bring red wine which doesn't need to be chilled.

Ice cream is long gone, so are the Doritos, so are the Tunnocks Caramel Wafers. I didn't enjoy them as much as I thought I would.

Menu

  • B: porridge with blueberries, tea w/soy
  • S: coffee w/coconut milk
  • L:  6 veg salad with chicken breast and cheddar
  • D:  curry
  • S: popcorn
  • Drinks: diet tonic, or low cal fruit drink, lots of water, diet pop, tea & coffee

Total: unknown - there will be beer

Progress as of today: 9 lbs lost so far, only 17 lbs to go!

Donkey on 11/05/2020:
I am not feeling optimistic about the election results. Time will tell, and soon, I think.

For some reason, I thought you'd be drinking wine with your friend. I'm glad it didn't rain and you had the opportunity to visit together.

grannyannie on 11/05/2020:
I think there will be lawyers and recounts involved before it is settled.

My friend only drinks wine so we usually share rose'. I brought her a bottle but I felt like continuing my beer drinking.

The husband has put up a deck cover so even if it rained we'd be dry. Nice. We're going to buy one for our patio for springtime.

I don't know what we are going to do this winter to visit our friends (2 couples). None of us want to go inside each others houses even though we should all be safe. But our friend (the wife) has advanced Parkinsons and she's very frail and in a wheelchair. Covid would be the end of her.

innerpeace on 11/05/2020:
I'm sorry for the loss of your son.

grannyannie on 11/05/2020:
Thank you. I'm wondering if and when it gets easier. Probably never.

Jacky82020 on 11/05/2020:
I am anxious over the election too, but confident we shall overcome. But not 100%. So funny how The Donald is filing all these lawsuits. What he’s done all his life, but still comical. What’s up with these pollsters? Geez!

Wonderful we got Michigan! You and your beautiful boy helped! He is our special angel on high.

grannyannie on 11/05/2020:
I'll never trust a poll again!

So many people said they would dedicate their vote in Michigan (and elsewhere) to my son. My favourite reply was that he was in heaven with people like John Lewis, Beau Biden, RBG and Elijah Cummings and others.

Jacky82020 on 11/05/2020:
He is! And a few great Choctaw Chiefs as well!

grannyannie on 11/05/2020:
Yes!! Many heroes!

Maria7 on 11/05/2020:
So sorry about your Son, Annie. Thinking of you today. HUGS...

grannyannie on 11/05/2020:
Thank you Maria. xx

Stayed awake most of the night but fell asleep on the sofa for about an hour. I'm totally knackered! Ate too much crap but only had 3 beers spread out over many hours.

My friend’s birthday is today and if it doesn’t rain we are going to sit on their deck with a patio heater and share wine. After I’ve missed a night of sleep.  Hmmm….. I’ll be walking the 1 mile there, not cycling! I bought her a big shawl.

No point in listing food/drink today.  I expect to behave tomorrow but fully expect to have a beer or two or three as results are known in coming days/weeks - good or bad.

Very early this morning I was chatting (Whatsapp and FB Messenger) with 3 people at the same time! Never managed that. One was our 'foster daughter' in Uganda, one was my American friend that also lives in Scotland, and the other was a former sis in law.

Progress as of today: 9 lbs lost so far, only 17 lbs to go!

Donkey on 11/04/2020:
I'm glad I went to bed early but facing the uncertainty of the day was very difficult to face.

I hope you will have the opportunity to visit with your friend even if it means wine. Hang the calories! Blast the scale! Enjoy friends and good wine.

grannyannie on 11/04/2020:
Until we know the winner of election I will be drinking beer or wine. And after we know there will be either celebrating or consoling - both of which involve alcohol! :D

Maria7 on 11/04/2020:
Your friend will be so happy over her big shawl. That is a WONDERFUL birthday gift!

grannyannie on 11/04/2020:
It was big and very soft. She liked it.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/04/2020:
oh wow...i use whatsapp and messenger, but mostly whatsapp as we feel it works BEST...with my French Friend! we do the video and we are able to talk for hours!

Glad you will spend some of today with a friend!

grannyannie on 11/05/2020:
We use Whatsapp with Uganda and some of my family in the US. But some in US don't seem to have even heard of it so we do messenger.

Started my election indulgences early - had beer last night.

I was interviewed by NPR last night about my son and our shared interest in politics.  The producer found me through an NBC article from May who had found me through Twitter. When he asked how I was feeling about watching election returns without my son this election, I broke down. Interview ended right after that.

Picked up berries etc at 7am. Going to be up all night. Some say I’m nuts because we won’t know the election results for days or even weeks. Very interested in Senate races as well. And I’m also 5 hours ahead of EST. It’s a tradition I’ve been keeping since 2004. And I won’t be able to sleep at all. I’ve been a big news junkie since 2015. It is also treat night! And I won’t feel guilty. Always shared this night with my youngest son via videochat so this is going to be very hard.  It’s already hard.

Workout:

  • Spin bike: 30 mins - running, sitting, jumps, hill climbing
  • Lower body muscle work (3 x 10 lunges, squats wearing 0.5kg/1.1lb wrist weights, side lunges and calf lifts using 3kg dumbbells)
  • 4 upper body routines with the 3kg/6.6lb weights
  • 6 upper body routines with 2kg/4.4lb weights

Menu

  • B: porridge with blueberries, tea w/soy
  • S: coffee w/coconut milk
  • L:  6 veg salad with chicken breast, cheddar
  • D:  curry
  • S: ice cream, Doritos, beers

Total:  Ahahahaha!

Progress as of today: 9 lbs lost so far, only 17 lbs to go!

Donkey on 11/03/2020:
That's so cool that you were interviewed! I didn't realize you are on Twitter! I just realized that if I sequester myself from anything election tonight, that I won't be able to check my Twitter feed either! Oh what shall I do?!?

grannyannie on 11/03/2020:
I think my interview will be played on the radio and I'm not really happy with some of it. Anyway, supposed to be on Weds morning, so I'll check. The lady who interviewed me for the online NBC obits (60 lives 60 days) was really very nice - it was only a few weeks after he died.

I'm on Twitter a LOT. I hit 3,503 followers today due to a tweet where I said Michigan - vote to honor my son and posted his photo wearing a Michigan hat. And I've gotten a massive response and tons of lovely condolences.

bearcountrygg on 11/03/2020:
I will be eating my way through the next 24 hours as well.......and that is fine with me. I'm sorry that election night also causes you sad memories.....but hope that it also reminds you of happy memories with your son a s well.

grannyannie on 11/03/2020:
It had become a tradition with us so it's hitting me harder right now.

I remember the thrill of one election in particular where we were both ecstatic (2008 - and I was in Uganda and he called me).

Jacky82020 on 11/03/2020:
So sorry about the painful reminders of your son.

I thought of you while watching the miniseries RoadKill last nite on PBS. I am a huge Hugh Laurie fan and since I knew him at first playing an American, the Brit accent amuses me. I love it. One reviewer said: no one plays a charming **** better than Laurie. Lol. Have to agree.

grannyannie on 11/03/2020:
Some English and Scots and Irish do really great American accents! My husband can't do one. Always sounds like Forrest Gump, but not a very good imitation.

Jacky82020 on 11/03/2020:
That was A s s H o l e

grannyannie on 11/03/2020:
What was?

Jacky82020 on 11/03/2020:
What a reviewer of Roadkill said about Hugh Laurie, that no one plays a charming ******* better than him.

Heard Hugh learned his American accent watching our TV shows & movies. Loved House MD. Best medical drama ever.

grannyannie on 11/03/2020:
Gotcha!

Maria7 on 11/03/2020:
Bless your heart. Will really be thinking about you, Annie. Love from all of us sent your way to you.

grannyannie on 11/03/2020:
Thanks Maria :)

More on backache conversations.....we lived in Uganda for 2 years (2007-09) and at first I had horrible back aches because I sat on a stool over plastic basins to hand wash all our laundry on the back porch. Then I cut the grass with a slasher (photos below) which meant bending over the entire time.  And we were on a corner lot so lots of grass.

But after maybe a month or so I found I got a really strong back. No more backaches. People always say women in Africa do backbreaking work tending crops etc, but they actually don’t get backaches. They have strong backs.

No workout today as I’m going to collect the shopping at 10am instead of tomorrow. I’m switching days so I can pick up the rest of the shopping on Tuesday morning instead of Weds because I’ll have been up all night.

Grrrr...just got home from picking up shopping. Gave me strawberry soy milk which I never ordered and never would. Also gave me the wrong size bread. I eat a whole grain seeded bread of smaller slices at 92 cals each, they gave me the big one at 131 cals each. That's nearly 40 cals more per slice and 80 per sandwich!

I will TRY not to go overboard during all this election chaos but whichever way it goes I’ll feel inclined to drink beer and have a snack or two. Well, at least I’m not starting at my max weight of 171. I’ll have to work extra hard after this is all over.

Menu

  • B: porridge with blueberries, tea w/soy
  • S: coffee w/coconut milk
  • L:  6 veg salad with chicken breast and cheddar
  • D:  curry
  • S: popcorn
  • Drinks: diet tonic, or low cal fruit drink, lots of water, diet pop, tea & coffee

Total:  1056

bearcountrygg on 11/02/2020:
Those things would definitely strengthen backs..... Those grocery substitutions are unfortunate.

grannyannie on 11/02/2020:
Yes, I guess we need to make sure we bend over frequently! Or do Donkey's back workouts?

They didn't charge me for the strawberry milk, they just put it in the wrong bag. Hubby will use it in his fruit smoothies. I guess I'll add bread to the list of things I pick up myself. Already do tomatoes and berries.

grannyannie on 11/02/2020:
There are resistance machines that work the back. They are like backwards sit ups.

Donkey on 11/02/2020:
I think my back ached just thinking of those chores!

That's unfortunate about your groceries. I'm glad your husband will put the soy milk to use. Strawberry flavor isn't really my thing either, but I bet it would be good in a smoothie.

I was wondering if you'd consider having half sandwiches or opened faced with the thicker slices? You'd end up cutting calories.

grannyannie on 11/02/2020:
Husband suggested I cut off some of the bread and feed to the birds. Although you aren't supposed to feed them bread.

Donkey on 11/02/2020:
Don't be too quick to do Donkey's back exercises. I've had an achy back all day yesterday.

grannyannie on 11/02/2020:
Uh oh. I will look online to see what videos I can find.

Jacky82020 on 11/02/2020:
How is it you lived in Uganda and also Thailand and probably more? Only ppl I ever knew who did the same were missionaries. What wonderful experiences!

grannyannie on 11/02/2020:
My husband volunteered to train teachers after he retired. So I retired too. And we lived in Uganda on a college campus for 2 years. We rented out our house here to friends of ours. I think missionaries in countries that are already christian is ridiculous. They are trying to convert them to their brand of christianity.

We stay in Thailand for 3 months every winter and have done since 2014. Not this winter though.

So I've lived in 3 countries - US, Uganda, UK. And if you count Thailand - 4.

Jacky82020 on 11/02/2020:
Won’t tell you what I, as Native American, think of Christian missionaries. Save all that for other forums. I taught for 13 years in Southern California, inner city ghetto schools. Loved it! And for the rest of my life I get a $1300 monthly pension check. I started high on the pay scale because of my PhD. Always amused me how most teachers got these dumbass masters and doctorates to advance on the pay scale. A high school student could have done the course work and a dim witted one at that. But I probably would have done the same.

grannyannie on 11/02/2020:
Yes, I can guess what you think of them. We saw American missionaries in Uganda and avoided them like the plague.

Back in the early 90's I was researching different spiritual paths and the one I was most attracted to was Native American and the attitudes about the land and killing animals for food etc. But then I read how many were angry at people hijacking their spirituality. Went for generic Pagan which I liked.

My husband retired as a headmaster. He had been physics teacher in the beginning of his career. He taught science and computers at the college in Uganda. We loved it there even with the inconveniences.

legcramps on 11/02/2020:
You'e got this, you have a plan and you know what you're going to do on election night, and for the days afterward. Stop stressing over it and let it be what it is. You're doing such a great job!

grannyannie on 11/02/2020:
Yes I have enough stress without thinking how much I'll gain!

Maria7 on 11/02/2020:
No use in having stress about anything these days.

thinkpositive on 11/02/2020:
Yes, can see how your back would ache from bending over doing your laundry!! And cutting the grass by hand!! But then to read that you strengthened your back- good for you.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/02/2020:
that is very interesting about the backaches and improving in strength after doing the tasks for long enough.

today while volunteering, there was a man there with "super-strength!" you wouldn't notice right away - you might take him as just a skinny man with a great metabolism. but on further notice, it's apparent he also exercises and does things to maintain is frame. i was able to take a good look at his arm (he was wearing some kind of athletic material long sleeve shirt that was tight on his arms, and he had muscles there. he was constantly bending over all morning to break boxes down or take things apart. he was constantly lifting heavy boxes of food and he was constantly in motion.

i actually said to him this morning, "if i had to do what you were doing, my back would be broken!" ....haha, relating back to the back issues everyone is going thru.

i am sure that man has been active for his life in its entirey (my guess is he is around 50-55yrs old!)

Weight: 162.0

Weigh-in: 162  Was hoping for 159 by election.

On Oct 13th I was 165.4.  On Sept 13th I weighed my highest ever: 171.

I know I will gain some of it back during the election so I’ll just have to make up for it with longer workouts and 3 or 4 1,000 cal days every week.

Next weigh-in Dec 1st.

Jacky asked about my citizenship and voting. I am a dual citizen with the US and UK. Got UK citizenship in 2007. So I have 2 passports and can also vote in both countries which I always do. I belong to a politcal party in each country.

Side and back are sore from the bookcase cleaning yesterday - too much bending and twisting. Not sure what housework I’ll do today but will not skip my workout. Planning on starting back on floor exercises and ankle weights next week.

Workout:

  • Spin bike: 30 mins - running, sitting, jumps, hill climbing
  • Lower body muscle work (3 x 10 lunges, squats wearing 0.5kg/1.1lb wrist weights, side lunges and calf lifts using 3kg dumbbells)
  • 4 upper body routines with the 3kg/6.6lb dumbbells
  • 6 upper body routines with 2kg/4.4lb weights

Menu:

  • B: porridge with blueberries & mixed seeds, tea w/soy
  • S: coffee w/coconut milk
  • L:  6 veg salad with chicken breast and cheddar
  • D:  curry
  • S: popcorn
  • Drinks: diet tonic, or low cal fruit drink, lots of water, diet pop, tea & coffee

Total:  1116

Progress as of today: 9 lbs lost so far, only 17 lbs to go!

bearcountrygg on 11/01/2020:
You have been losing...so you will be fine. That is one thing I notice sometimes after cleaning too.....over the years...it does make me sore sometimes....plus..often...I need to take the next day off to recoup....just a minor annoyance...but a fact of life for me now.

grannyannie on 11/01/2020:
My injury area is not completely gone so that area got hurt. Couldn't sleep on my left side last night at all and I have been doing so for weeks now. Took some meds this morning and feel fine.

I usually get some lower back pain after doing a lot of cleaning and bending. Guess I just need to bend more often!

Donkey on 11/01/2020:
Cleaning stresses my back out too - no, I'm not making that up (lol). I think it's because cleaning is usually an unbalanced activity. I'm right-handed, so I hold a mop or vacuum cleaner a certain way, which stresses one side of my back, more than the other - this causes problems.

Dusting and wiping are better, because I can switch hands - if I remember before it's too late. Do be careful with your back muscles when working with upper body weights. Perhaps it will be good to warm them up and work out the tightness from cleaning.

Good weigh-in goals, too!

grannyannie on 11/01/2020:
I switch hands when I clean but something like cleaning a bookcase and all the books means weird positions and twisting. Same with doing kitchen cupboards.

I felt fine doing the 2kg weights for the harder upper body routines and also only did 3 sets of 5 instead of 10. So I don't think I did any damage. And good stretches afterward. Also do the spin bike before muscle work.

Maria7 on 11/01/2020:
You're about 10 pounds down! Congratulations to you! That is OUTSTANDING!!!

grannyannie on 11/01/2020:
Thanks Maria. I will gain some back this week while I cope with the election but I'm not going to feel guilty. I will get it back off when things settle down. Might just lose some with nervous energy!

bearcountrygg on 11/01/2020:
I also have lower back pain with bending.....and I have a lumbar vertebra that has been crumbling for quite a few years.....and i know it is the exact area where I had to saddle blocks when I had kids...by any chance did you have saddle blocks also?

grannyannie on 11/02/2020:
I had a saddle block with my first in 1971. But I've only had lower back pain with constant bending as I got older.

Jacky82020 on 11/01/2020:
The husband has porridge every morning! With 2% milk. I consider my coffee with protein drink breakfast. Sometimes I add a zero cal syrup to it

grannyannie on 11/02/2020:
Porridge is very popular in Scotland. I have mine with fresh berries and oat milk. Husband likes his with coconut milk.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/01/2020:
speaking of soreness, i also got sore from volunteering a couple days ago...i guess i may have been also doing a slight twisting motion because i was giving out products and constantly turning myself to take more products out as i gave them away. but it's a good sore. not too much.

grannyannie on 11/02/2020:
Twisting while lifting something is really bad for back.

Was extra hungry yesterday, so had rice with my curry and 2 more packets of popcorn. Not too bad - less than 1400 calories for the day.

Heavy housework day. No workout. Did the bookcases. Normally just use a feather duster but I took all the books and souvenirs off the shelves and dusted everything.  Washed kitchen and laundry room floors.  Didn’t clean the bathrooms and doubt I will. I’m knackered!

Menu:

  • B: porridge with strawberries, tea w/soy
  • S: coffee w/coconut milk
  • L:  chicken sandwich
  • D:  curry

Busy day around here too......have a good one!

grannyannie on 10/31/2020:
I like having a schedule to follow. I can't procrastinate as easily.

Donkey on 10/31/2020:
This weekend is a cleaning weekend here too. In fact, I just looked at my "to do" list and feel a bit overwhelmed at the moment. You've done quite well, though!

grannyannie on 10/31/2020:
Glad I got those dusty books done. Didn't realize how dirty the shelves could get - like behind the books. Wish I'd gotten the bathrooms done as well though. Oh well...I'll do them before or after my workout tomorrow.

Jacky82020 on 10/31/2020:
Reminds me, need to do bookcases too. Many have glass doors, but they could use some Windex.

grannyannie on 10/31/2020:
I just have 2 bookcases and one has a cupboard in bottom part where I have TONS of photo books and loose photos.

The upper kitchen cupboards have glass windows in them. I just use a wet rag on them and then dry them well.

Maria7 on 10/31/2020:
Wow, what a spotless home you have!

grannyannie on 10/31/2020:
I wouldn't go that far as to say spotless. I do like clean though and love organised!

Got a long winter at home ahead of us and I will slowly get everything done.

Horn_of_plenty on 10/31/2020:
yes, your home must be looking quite nice these days!!!! nice job working!

Hate that we have to miss our winter in Thailand. It would do a lot to help my soul. One photo from last year. One of my favourite beach bars - sitting on beanbags and drinking cold beer. I take lots of bare foot photos.

Donkey on 10/30/2020:
Ooh, how exciting that your weights come today - it's like Christmas!!! And nice to see the upper body exercises return to your routine.

I love your foot photo! Do you wear toe rings? Or maybe little toe hats for these photo ops. That background is so beautiful. I can only imagine the smell of the ocean, hearing the waves, feeling the warm breeze. Aah....

grannyannie on 10/30/2020:
It will take a long time but I hope to get back to using all my weights - heaviest is 7kg/15.4lb.

No toe rings. I've only painted my toenails once for these photos. I could get a pedicure very cheap there.

grannyannie on 10/30/2020:
I LOVE being able to wear shorts, sandals, tank tops!

bearcountrygg on 10/30/2020:
I need to look up massaman curry..... Love the pic.......

grannyannie on 10/30/2020:
Massaman curry is a rich, relatively mild Thai curry. Cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, star anise, cumin, bay leaves, nutmeg and mace are combined with more local flavors such as dried chili peppers, coriander, lemongrass, galangal, white pepper, shrimp paste, shallots and garlic to make massaman curry paste.

grannyannie on 10/30/2020:
Hubby doesn't use every single ingredient listed. Galangal isn't that easy to get.

My favourite is Thai Green Curry.

Maria7 on 10/30/2020:
Cute photo!!!

grannyannie on 10/30/2020:
Thanks! I do lots of foot photos and when I don't post one for a while I have 2 or 3 FB friends that want to know where my foot is! Ha!

legcramps on 10/30/2020:
Nice pic! And very exciting about the weight arriving today. I want to order weights to have at home but it isn't realistic for me since I spend more time outside or at the gym than at home (usually).

grannyannie on 10/30/2020:
I always preferred doing the dumbbells at home instead of at the gym. I did the resistance machines and all the cardio at the gym. Not going now though. Not until I feel safe.

Horn_of_plenty on 10/30/2020:
that's nice you can do the barefoot foot (well, actually, this is an old photo i realize!)

i think when covid is (hopefully next year) over, I would like to take a trip to thailand...and i have a friend (my friend from france), that i'd like to invite to go with me - we are planning another trip...

...obviously i need a stable job, so, perhaps in two years for my 40th bday hoping all is back and stable in the world :)...maybe not! maybe i will not be traveling so soon! who know! it's always nice to hope <3

Jacky82020 on 10/29/2020:
I need to work on the kitchen pantry too!

grannyannie on 10/29/2020:
I usually keep it organized for a long time after I do it, but eventually there is new stuff that doesn't have a 'spot'.

Donkey on 10/29/2020:
I'll tell you a secret: this weekend, I'll be cleaning out and re-organizing the floor area of my closet. Unfortunately, circumstances dictate that I can no longer avoid this.

I think I'd rather re-organize the pantry or spice cupboard :-/

grannyannie on 10/29/2020:
Yea, sometimes you are forced to re-organize because you can't find anything!

innerpeace on 10/29/2020:
oh...organization? I just move and restack until I find what I'm looking for, and then when I can't find it...I tell DH and he then moves and restacks and then we both decide we don't have it. The next day it miraculously appears in a different cabinet on a different shelf. SO funny, I guess we could be more organized. DH just bought so many canned goods for pandemic reasons...

grannyannie on 10/29/2020:
We do always know what cupboard a certain thing is. The pantry is a big closet with 4 shelves and also lots of space beneath. So it has flours/sugars, teas, Thai cooking ingredients, dried beans and lentils and rices, and bread machine and big cooking pot on the floor. Husband is the cook and if it's organized he can find what he needs and doesn't ask me to hunt for it.

Horn_of_plenty on 10/29/2020:
It's nice that Hubby is staying current and making sure to have a variety of thai ingredients. that will sure keep things in a variety.

how nice to have cereal with RASPBERRIES. raspberries were so BAD this summer here in Queens. they didn't taste good, ever, and were mostly always containing some rotten ones in the mix. Just bad quality.

I have of course had good raspberries. but, it's been a LONG time.

grannyannie on 10/29/2020:
Hubby is a creative cook and likes to try different dishes and ingredients and spices and herbs (always fresh ones).

We usually have very good raspberries and strawberries. I always pick up 2 packs each of raspberries, strawberries, blueberries and one extra of one of them so we can have a pack every day. I pour the milk on my porridge first then add the berries on top.

Maria7 on 10/29/2020:
It sounds like you have a very organized pantry.

grannyannie on 10/29/2020:
Yep! :)

legcramps on 10/29/2020:
Feel like tackling mine when you're done yours?! LOL

grannyannie on 10/29/2020:
LOL, no thanks! :)

7am trip to supermarket to pick up berries, chilis and a couple of things that weren't online. Almost nobody there except for all the staff doing the home delivery and click and collect shopping and staff stocking shelves.

  • Lower body muscle work (3 x 10 lunges, side lunges, squats, calf lifts wearing 0.5kg/1.1lb wrist weights).
  • 4 upper body routines with the 3kg/6.6lb dumbbells. Still waiting for 2kg dumbbells to be delivered.

Menu:

  • B: porridge with blueberries, tea w/soy
  • S: coffee w/coconut milk
  • L:  6 veg salad with chicken breast, 1 multigrain cracker with cheddar
  • D:  curry

How nice to have the store to yourself!

Your workouts are coming along fine! We're you able to ride your bike outdoors over the weekend?

grannyannie on 10/28/2020:
Proud of myself for faithfully working out! Weather was windy and wet, so no bike ride outside.

Jacky82020 on 10/28/2020:
Always get to store early too, working on my pickup Walmart list now. Nice the spinner is working out so well!

grannyannie on 10/28/2020:
I only buy a few things when I go since I order the bulk of it online and pick it up the day before. Hard to get around the produce section with all the staff stocking the shelves or picking up online orders, but at least there aren't many shoppers at the time I go.

Loving the spinner! Great workout.

legcramps on 10/28/2020:
Plan for the day looks good!

grannyannie on 10/28/2020:
Was a pretty good day.
