Greetings ladies! Big pig-out today!!
Company at my sister's house today - Mexican themed. 22 people in total. It's a very bad idea to stand next to the appetizer table (nachos, fritos, crackers, guacomole, cheesy thing, veggie & bean dip) for a long time while chatting with different people. The hand goes automatically to the table many, many, many times! And I hadn't had any lunch as the meal was at about 3pm so I was really hungry.
This was followed by quesidillas, rice, fruit, several Corona Extras, a margarita, and later quite a few homemade cookies. Oink.
I did overdo it and didn't need to be a pig as a lot of the eating was because it tasted good, not because I was hungry. Most of what I ate was foods I very rarely eat.
Other than shopping no exercise yet. People noticed my weight loss and said I looked really good.
If it's not snowy or slippery tomorrow I'm doing a power walk. I feel a strong need to get some exercise.
Tomorrow I'm being very good! I've been eating porridge every morning as usual.
Hope you all are doing well!
Note to self: remember the joy of trying on and buying those little size 8 trousers and the joy of continuing to wear them!!!! This long-term pleasure is much better than the short-term pleasure of consuming junk food!
Progress as of today: 34 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!
Hi ladies! Been very busy shopping, seeing family, went to a concert tonight. Been doing pretty good on the food and since I've discovered Lite beer is only 96 calories I'm allowing 2 a day. Picked up Chinese for dinner tonight though and I know that was not low cal or low fat! Tomorrow is Mexican food but I'll try to watch it. Don't want my new trousers to get tight!
My son and his family came over last night and I was very good for dinner, even skipped the ice cream! Saw my precious granddaughters!
Thanks for your comments! I'll try to catch up when I get a chance. Hope you all have a fantastic holiday.

Hiya lovely ladies!
Very mild weather here in Michigan - upper 50's! Nice to see family! Went shopping with my sister today and got a pair of jeans and black dress trousers. Size 8!! My sister also had two pair of corduroys that are too short for her - size 8 - and she gave them to me. Really motivates me to behave myself!
Eating quite healthy since we arrived. Different story on the plane though. I get so bored! 8 1/2 hour flight. At dinnertime I kept eating after I was satisfied and end up stuffed and feeling horrible.
At our hotel in Amsterdam the breakfast bufffet was included. I passed by something i love - croissants and pain au chocolat. I had a roll, muesli, a thin slice of ham and yogurt.
Workouts at my sister's won't work as there is nowhere cool to do cardio and I overheat quickly. We plan to powerwalk though.
Thanks for all your comments!!
Won't get a lot of time to comment on your blogs but will try to catch up later when things slow down a bit.

Hiya girls!
Quick check in. Hanging out in Glasgow till it's time for the airport bus. So far no flight cancellations. Forecast for the strong winds to hit here are early evening, after our flight has gone. Crossing fingers.
Only had one pint of beer last night, but did have a veggie burger and chips (fries) instead of the noodles and chicken. Not too bad.
Pancakes and meaty bacon for breakfast, having the sweet chili noodles for lunch w/o the chicken. Got two oat bars, a packet of dried apricots, and a biggish chocolate star for the flights.
Dinner will probably be a sandwich from the airport in Amsterdam.
Have a good week!
Thanks for your comments, ladies! Arrived in Amsterdam. No problems. In the hotel and our flight to Michigan is tomorrow morning. Had a ham and cheese roll, and a cheese roll, and a bottle of Amstel light which was only 75 calories! Of course, it tasted like watery beer! Oh and a beer at the airport.

Greetings lovely ladies! Hope you all are well and healthy and have a great week!
Leaving this morning for a Glasgow hotel in order to beat the high winds tomorrow which could cancel our ferry. Crossing all my fingers and toes that our flight on Tuesday isn't affected! Tuesday night in Amsterdam then on to my grandbabies!
This is the last day I'll know my total calorie count and from then on it's up to my judgement. My goal weight was 135, then I lowered it to 133 so I'd have 2 pounds credit for my trip. I was 130.8 this morning. I think I am more comfortable at 133 though and 135 will be my max weight.
Never without internet for long, so I'll be keeping in touch and hoping there won't be too many confessions!
Menu:
B: porridge & tea
L: pbj sandwich, yogurt, 2 clementines
D: restaurant: sweet chili noodles & chicken breast, 1 pint beer
TOTAL: 1519 (ok, I'll probably have 2 pints - so maybe 1704)
Progress as of today: 34 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!
Good Sunday, girls! All packed and ready to go, well, 98% anyway.
High winds possible on Tues, the day of our flight. Hubby and I are heading over to Glasgow tomorrow and staying the night in a hotel. Ferries get cancelled in high winds and we don't want to be stuck. Hoping the flight doesn't get cancelled!!!
I've done my weights, abs, lower body toning, and 10 minutes on the exercise bike. But I'll try to get back on the bike later.
Menu:
B: porridge & tea
L: veggie chili, yogurt
S: 3 clementines
D: veggie curry & rice, salad, drink
S: latte (and one bite sized cadbury)
TOTAL: 1339 1394
Greetings, ladies! All ready for the holidays?
The snow we got yesterday is now nearly melted. No winds. But forecast to get high winds on Tuesday, the day of our flight!!! Yikes! So I've been busy today getting things ready in case we go over to Glasgow on Monday and stay in a hotel instead of going on Tuesday (in case of cancelled ferries).
Nearly done packing. I have an audiobook to download tomorrow. Fridge/freezer cleaned out and will shut it off. Got my earrings and rings cleaned. Washed my gym shoes so they don't stink up my suitcase! LOL. I like to come home to a clean house so cleaning and tidying as well.
Will get on my bike later this afternoon. Wanted to get things ticked off my packing and to do list.
Thought I'd post a warmer photo today! June 2007 on a beach about 20 miles from us.
Menu:
B: porridge & tea
L: 2 toast and pbj, yogurt
S: 2 clementines
D: 2 chicken thighs and 1 drumstick, no skin, potatoes, peas, brussel sprouts, salad, drink (rarely have BBQ chicken any more and it was just too good not to eat it all, with the skin!)
Lots of teas and water
TOTAL: 1347 (but might also have a glass of wine - 130 cals) approx 1650ish
Haven't done my stats on my super-scale for a while because I figured they'd be off with the dehyration/extra fluids with having a cold. So last time before trip:
At 2:00 pm:
Progress as of today: 34 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!
Hope everything goes according to plan for your departure--have a good evening/morning!
I've gone so far afield (with my body fat number) and accepted it up until now to some extent. I'd like to see just below 30 and then go from there.
Good afternoon girls! Winds have died down here and we've got a good dusting of snow. Winds yesterday hit up to 165 mph in some places. They hit between 80-90 in our immediate area. Depending on the news source it was either the worst storm in 10 years or 15 years. I've never seen anything like it and I moved here nearly 12 years ago, although I've seen some pretty good storms!
Here's the best selection of photos many of which are not far from us down the water: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2071633/UK-weather-Wind-turbine-EXPLODES-hurricane-force-gusts-batter-Northern-Britain.html
And a video from early in the day: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-16083530
Everyone who looked at my video yesterday was worried about the person/people in the sailboat. Nobody was in the boat. It is moored there all year. Even the big car ferries were all cancelled yesterday. The islands depend on the ferries to get them supplies and food.
Well, yesterday I felt really lazy. Did not work out at all. Ate 3 bite sized chocolates and some hot chocolate. It took all my willpower not to totally pig out. But thinking about how I would feel afterward stopped me. So today I vowed not to be lazy! I did my workout before I even turned on my computer. Just did my usual internet on my phone while having breakfast in bed.
Saw a red squirrel out back when doing my workout but I was too slow grabbing the camera and the only pic is fuzzy. So I took some bird pics and some of the snow falling.
Workout:
Menu:
B: porridge & tea
L: pbj on 1 toast, yogurt, 3 clementines
D: veggie curry & rice, salad, drink
S: hot chocolate, banana
Lots of tea and water
TOTAL: 1257 (trying to keep it low before trip and I got up to more than 1500 yesterday, so making up for it)
Hope you all have a good weekend!
Progress as of today: 34 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!
Thanks so much for the links above--who expects to see a trampoline rolling by--crazy!
And the turbines--all I can think of is how many are on wind farms in West Texas and the crazy weather Mother Nature has been coming up with lately that no one expects (Hurricane Katrina, the Japan earthquake/tsunami etc).
Good job on the exercise today!
Good afternoon, girls! Very windy weather here today. Predicted gusts up to 90 mph. Looks much calmer for us right now. Expecting to lose power and haven't worked out yet. Doing some travel prep and didn't want to leave the computer while it's still on! I know, I know. Internet-aholic! Might get on the bike later.
Was 130.6 on the scale this morning. Hmm....fluid.
Think I'm finally over this cold, but now my hubby is sneezing!
A pic from in front of our house this morning.
Here's a video I took:
http://youtu.be/uJroXiEiLZk
Menu:
B: porridge & tea
L: tuna sandwich, pineapple, clementine
S: 2 bite sized chocolates (which were supposed to be my snack tonight!)
D: veggie curry & rice, salad, drink
Lots of teas and water
TOTAL: 1355
Progress as of today: 34 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!
I hope you hubby has a speedy recovery!!
Good day girls! The snow we had the last two days has all melted but last night was very windy and we woke up with no power. Just came back on a little while ago at 12.20. Good thing we have a gas hob we could light to boil water for tea and a gas fireplace so at least one room was warm.
I really didn't feel well after eating that junk yesterday. It wasn't even that good. So it's not like I splurged on some sweets that I really like. Just felt yuck without my healthy food. I'll keep that in mind over my 3 weeks with family. Scale was back to 133 this morning.
I always do my workouts in an unheated bedroom as I warm up so quickly. So I did my workout this morning but it took a lot longer to warm up.
Workout:
Menu:
B: power wasn't on and I wasn't about to stand in the freezing kitchen and make my porridge (hubby made the tea). So I quickly put pbj on a piece of bread
L: 1 bite sized dark chocolate while I was cooking porridge on the hob (power came back on shortly after), porridge, tea with milk as I needed some comfort and tea with lemon doesn't do that.
S: fresh pineapple, 2 clementines
D: veg curry & rice, salad, drink
S: latte, melba toast
TOTAL: 1345
Progress as of today: 34 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!
I have to continually remind myself that while I think an indulgance will taste so good, it usually is not worth it. Feeling terrible is not worth any amount of food.
Have a great day - stay warm!

Oh size 8's - you better remember them Annie! You EARNED them, dear! Moderation will do it - take it slow! Deep breath!
thinkpositive on 12/18/2011:
Glad to see that you are having a good time. Is is easy to let the rules that worked so well back home go out the window while we're here in holiday mode. Have a nice walk and have fun with your family.
Umpqua on 12/18/2011:
Mexican food is so yummy, it's tough to limit it and I'm never able to. I know you're getting right back on track though!
liza36 on 12/19/2011:
Nice to have people recognize the weight loss. I have a tough time around mexican food, I love it too much. I love your note to yourself. Well said!
