Got hungry yesterday afternoon so had an extra pack of popcorn (87cals). Higher calories today.
7am headed to supermarket - very quiet at 7:15 am. Going to workout before lunch. And do some housework.
Menu: Total: about 1,384 Workout:
Photo for the day: on a bike ride 5 years ago - standing on top of a 5,000 year old burial cairn.
Progress as of today: 2.8 lbs lost so far, only 21.8 lbs to go!
Had a 'cheat' day yesterday - beer, crisps.
Back to normal.
Menu:
Step aerobics - 30 minutes

New week. MWF 1000 calories, Tu Th Sa 1400. Workouts M to Sat. Sunday is flexible and I can have alcohol.
Not sure what we are doing today. We've got sunshine and also dark clouds. One couple is having a sister visiting, and the other couple is working on their greenhouse to turn it into a place to sit outside in the rain.
If it looks like we can get out and not get wet, we might ride our bikes 'around the block' - 20 miles. Pubs and restaurants are now open but distancing is down to 1 metre (not far enough for me!). There is a lovely pub where you can sit outside a great place to stop for a beer on a bike ride.
Edit: it is raining. And husband says he won't go to the pub if one of us has to go inside to order drinks.
Scotland is going really well with Covid but we still need to be careful. I disagree with how much they opening things up. Looks at Victoria in Australia! And other places.
This is the pub - down our road 8 miles. 17th century with some sections from 16th.

Sorry to hear that your gathering isn't going to take place, but with the rain, well... maybe it just wasn't meant to be this weekend.
Don't know if the weather will cooperate tomorrow for a garden gathering with friends, but it will be a higher calorie day and a non-workout day.
Menu:
Total: just over 1,000 calories

That's interesting that you have your higher calorie days on your rest days. I rather like that, being a "refuel" situation.
Is it more painful (ha ha) to eat less on days that you eat less? This question is more for my benefit than a commentary. I'm really focusing more on calorie intake lately. (or trying to, anyways...)
uh, i'm a little jealous of all these thai food you are eating!!! i may do some thai takeout next week! actually make that, i WILL do takeout next week and it will be thai!
We used to eat a lot of Indian curries or veggie chilis and hubby just used different veggies or sauces. But after several years going to Thailand in winter he decided going 9 months without Thai food was too long. So he started watching a Thai cooking show on Youtube. I'm not a creative cook at all so I'm very happy he likes to cook!
Friends dropped by yesterday (unexpected) just before dinner, so brought out the wine and crisps. So calories were definitely more than 1400.
Menu:
Total: about 1,000 Edit: also had a quinoa bar so 1,137 cals
Step aerobics 30 minutes. Tried some youtube videos - tried the intermediate which had a lot of jumping and just wore me out after 10 minutes. So went to the beginner one which was much easier to keep up with but still a very good workout. So I did at least 30 minutes overall.
One of the many photos of flowers in our garden:

I'll tell you a secret. Although I am sober (abstinent), I've often fantasized about coming home from work, and enjoying a glass of wine with my husband BEFORE dinner -- sitting outside, relaxing, etc.
However, because daughter usually comes home for dinner at 5:15p, it's all rush rush rush, so that we can eat with her. When I stay late at work, I don't get to see her at all for that day.
Hopefully, husband and I will have time to drink wine, in the future, probably sooner than I think!
I am not much for wine, but I do have a taste for ale and really enjoy trying new flavors!
Lots of good Michigan breweries now and one of my favourites is Two Hearted Ale. So we're never short of good beer when we visit!
Woohoo! Higher calories today after 3 days in a row at 1,000. Going to stay off the scale and judge loss by how my trousers fit. I'll get on the scale when I know I'll be pleased by what it says.
Menu:
Total: just under 1400
On a bike ride a few years ago: Isle of Bute
Progress as of today: 2.8 lbs lost so far, only 21.8 lbs to go!
you seem to have a good appetite and ability to be satiated! jealous!
Isle of Bute is lovely. My husband used to teach there back in the '80s.
Yucky weather again today. Need some sun!
Yesterday my oldest granddaughter turned 15. Hard to believe. I was extra generous with gifts this year for her and her sister whose birthday is August. They will be missing their dad especially on their birthdays.
Reading a fascinating book so my workout today will be step aerobics for 15 mins, then I can get on my exercise bike for 30 minutes and read.
My shoulder is fine. Only used the 0.5kg wrist weights doing my muscle work yesterday instead of dumbbells. Tomorrow I might try doing some upper body muscle work using the wrist weights instead of dumbbells. Menu: B: porridge w/raspberries, tea w/soy milk S: coffee with coconut milk - no quinoa bar L: 6 veg salad with hummus, cheddar D: Thai green curry, tonic with slices of lime S: 1 pack salted popcorn Total: about 1,000 (maybe a bit less)
More garden photos: from the back
Progress as of today: 2.8 lbs lost so far, only 21.8 lbs to go!
A good book is a treasure. Enjoy!
I did get hungry yesterday afternoon, but did not snack.
Plan for next week. MWF 1,000 cals. Tu Th Sa 1300-1400 cals. Sunday flexible - some alcohol if a garden party day - small amount if not. 5 days/week aerobics or muscle workout.
Went shopping today (masks are mandatory now and everyone wore one but who are these idiots who think it only has to cover your mouth FFS?). Bought some mixed nuts and mixed seeds to add on higher calorie days and will add some other fruit - banana, clementines. Healthy stuff. However, I bought some cumberland sausages as a treat and will have one with lunch on some of the higher cal days. And I love egg salad sandwiches and I have some bread in the freezer and will have that every couple of weeks. Menu: Total: about 1,000 (maybe a bit less) Workout: A photo in our garden. Love the lillies!
Yes, there are some dolts who don't know how to wear a mask. Why is this so difficult?
Had a nice time at the garden gathering yesterday.
Plan for this week: 1,000 cals per day and one day higher cals. NO alcohol. Do either step aerobics or muscle work 5 days a week. I’ll decide at the end of the week how well this is working. Will probably go to 1,000 cals 3 days a week and 1500? the other days.
Step aerobics: 30 minutes Menu: Total: about 1,000 Photo of the day: We went to Morocco for my 60th birthday in 2012. Love the architecture! And my weight was less than 130 with lots of muscle.
Progress as of today: 2.8 lbs lost so far, only 21.8 lbs to go!
i love that photo, the colors are so vibrant! was it like that all over morocco?
Not getting on the scale. I feel motivated one minute and change the next. I really need to stay motivated. I hate how I feel and how I look.
Today is our garden party - 3 couples - distancing. I'm going to have wine and crisps. But otherwise behaving.
No aerobics today - shoulder is a bit sore.
Goal for this week: no alcohol until weekend if we meet up with friends. Going to try to do 3 days with calories at 1,000 or a bit less. Finishing off the bread for toast tomorrow morning, then it's porridge.
Met our new neighbours who bought a big house next door. Couldn't move in because of lockdown but did so yesterday. Really nice guys.

Photo for today: this was on one of our long bikes a few years ago.
Progress as of today: 2.8 lbs lost so far, only 21.8 lbs to go!
I think I will switch back to oatmeal for breakfast during the week. Then on weekends, I can have my low-carb wraps with peanut butter.
Now that I think about it, I'm not sure how I feel about how I look or feel with this extra weight. Hmm....
also, love, love, LOVE these photos. it's so nice to be able to see what other DDers see and live through your experiences. that bike trail looks divine! oh, how i'd loved to have biked it too!

You look fantastic! :-)
Thanks. Photo was 5 years ago so I was likely 20 lbs lighter.

And I like your menu and workout today!
Was a good workout! And I won't get hungry mid afternoon.
Horn_of_plenty on 07/21/2020:
Looking great in your 5yr old photo!
Good plan to get to the supermarket early so you can have it basically all to yourself!
I used to line up to get in at 7 - but too crowded. Then I tried 7:30, still too many. So I've found arriving at 7:15 is perfect!
bearcountrygg on 07/21/2020:
I get to the store early too......Great pic of you Annie!!!!
Thanks!
