Massage day.
Too much beer and rum at the party last night and stayed up later than normal, so too tired to get up for the gym. Hubby managed to still get up 6 and ride and his bike.
Menu:
B: passionfruit, banana, apple, pineapple, toast
L: big veggie salad with various seeds, small banana and passionfruit smoothie
D: pork and kale on rice, iced tea
S: small glass of light beer
Progress as of today: 12 lbs lost so far, only 10 lbs to go!
Skipped gym and went on the 6am bike ride with hubby. Did 7+ miles in 38 minutes. Legs were tired when we came home - so didn’t do lunges, or ankle weights etc. I’ll do some of those at the gym tomorrow after upper body work. Menu: B: fruit salad - passionfruit, banana, apple, yogurt, toast S: small cappuccino, crackers/biscuits L: fried rice w/bacon, iced tea D: found an invitation to a party at our community when we came back from beach. Surprised it's today. Last year they had a new year's eve party.
Thanks. Just got back from party. Some really yummy Thai food, beer, and our Canadian friends brought rum.
are you going to the party?
Yes, went to party. The staff here are so hard working and so friendly. We debated for about a minute whether to go out to dinner or to party. Party won.
No Barbie and Ken today or the guy that hates AC, just one guy working out. Busier on the island during xmas and new year season.
My bikini top was sooooo tight yesterday. Too many clothes are tight on me. Wish I could get rid of half my boobs, a bit of belly, and some hip. Guess I need to behave for this to come true.
Menu:
B: toast, fruit salad - pineapple, passionfruit, banana, gooseberries
S: small cappuccino, crackers/biscuits
L: stir fried veggies and tofu, ½ portion rice, iced tea
D: we were planning on taking the kayak out but it's getting windy and showery. Was going to have a beer or two at the beachside bar as my dinner, but I guess I'll be having eggs and yogurt.

My breasts are one of the first areas I lose weight, or gain weight. The tank tops I bought here last year which fit perfectly are now very tight.
Sorry the top feels so tight. But you know you have the power to change things. Sometimes it takes longer than we'd like it to take to make weight loss goals. you have to decide if it's worth it to you now?
Sunny and hot! Getting in the pool FINALLY in a few minutes.

The guy who hates AC didn't show up. But Barbie and Ken did. They took up all the floor space in the very tiny gym. Fortunately, I was done using dumbbells. I'll have to take a photo to show you all the what this resort gym has.
I think I remember from last year a few of your gym photos with the outdoors view right? of the pool?
Try to get a snap of barbie and ken please!!!! I want to see if they really look that good!
I doubt Barbie and Ken want their pic taken! LOL.
Nice indulgence yesterday. Back on track today. M - F - no beer, no snacking, no junk.

Looks like I'm going to have trouble with a tourist at the gym. I almost always have the gym to myself the whole time - I'm there 7 - 8 am. This morning about 7:45 a man came in and got on the exercise bike. He left the door open which means hot, humid air comes into the air conditioned gym. I didn't notice it was open while on the treadmill because the AC was cranked up extra today and I also have a personal fan I bring with me and plug in. When I shut the door he said he can't tolerate AC. (What is he doing in Thailand then?!) I told him it gets too hot. Most tourists stay in a resort for two weeks so I might have to argue with this guy again and again!
Progress as of today: 13 lbs lost so far, only 9 lbs to go!
No rain today except a wee bit of drizzle for a short time. So we rode our bikes to a Temple, then to the nearby Villa Chocolat. I had dessert for lunch. Pic below.
Exercise was a bike ride to the temple/cafe and back. Maybe 7 miles. If it stays dry we'll cycle to dinner but that's only about 2 miles roundtrip. Indulging until Monday then getting tough.
Menu:
B: toast, banana, yogurt
S: see below (forgot to take a pic this time because a dog was annoying me trying to get some of my cake so this is last year's pic. We sat on the porch to eat.) I actually found the dessert too rich.
L: about 2:30 - yellow Indian curry with potatoes and tofu, 1/2 portion rice
D: plain macaroni with salt and butter
S: beer, bottle strawberry mai tai
Lunch. Temple.

Yesterday - Thursday:
It was dry in the morning, so I went with hubby on his daily bike ride at 6am instead of the gym. Don’t know the exact distance but probably about 7 or 8 miles. It takes 45 minutes. Roads are very quiet then but there were still people setting up the markets along the roads with food and juices, etc.
Did a few squats and lunges at home, without dumbbells and my usual ankle weights.
Blue skies didn’t stay. Started heavy rain at about 9am.
Menu:
B: toast, yogurt, porridge
S: cappuccino, sm cup crackers (like animal crackers)
L: chicken/herbs/veggie wrap, mango/yoghurt/passionfruit smoothie (small)
D: fried rice with bacon, large beer
S: few pretzels, small glass of light beer
Home: floor exercises 10 reps x 4 each
ankle weights - 3 routines for thighs, hips, glutes
Also rode the bike to lunch - about 8 miles roundtrip including a very steep uphill climb.
Friday:
Woke up to heavy rain. Did not want to drive to the gym and still end up getting wet. So lazy day. Massage at noon.
Menu: not a healthy day. No veggies. I'll make up for it tomorrow. Most days I get tons of veggies and some fruit.
B: toast, banana, yogurt
L: chicken sate, french fries, iced tea (didn't have lunch until 2:30)
D: eggs and ham, banana (maybe)
S: light beer, chocolate
Not being good. Gained back what I lost. Plan is to go ahead and indulge over xmas weekend, the M-F be very, very good. No beer at all. No snacking at night. Then treats on weekend.
Blog of our stay in Thailand. Added some videos today of kayaking and cycling. You'll have to copy and paste it as this editor doesn't have links.

Squats are simply the best...i have noticed def changes in my rear after less than a year of squats. It's definitely changed! Lifted up.
Gym was not opened until about 7:10. Only did 10 mins cardio. Raining again and I wanted to leave when the rain was less heavy, so shorter workout but did my full weights workout.
RAIN: no, this is not a normal December on this island. It is worse than the heavy rains they had 5 years ago which were a record. We’ve had a few dry days but mostly rainy, with flooding. Normally we get some rain the first week of December, then scattered throughout the month. Then Jan and Feb are mostly sunny with occasional showers. We were told November was sunny almost all month which is unusual. Normally Nov is rainy season and it tapers off early in Dec. Anyway, I’m fed up. 21 days and still haven’t been in the pool. Makes me want to splurge.
Menu:
B: toast, yogurt
L: club sandwich, fries, strawberry smoothie
S: ½ pint beer
D: eggs & meaty bacon
S: 1 lg light beer, pretzels
Gym workout
Upper body 12 reps x 4 sets each
11 routines (3 - 8 kg dumbbells)
Cardio:
treadmill - 10 mins
abs - 3 routines - 10 reps x 3 sets
bridge - 10 reps x 3 sets
plank - 3 x 20 seconds
triceps dips - 10 reps x 3
push ups - 10 reps x 3
Progress as of today: 14.2 lbs lost so far, only 7.8 lbs to go!
I am so sorry that the weather is totally off kilter! Omg what a disappointment – but that’s Mother Nature lol, at her pretty much her worst. So sorry! Yeah, being stuck more indoors and dealing with weather like that would be difficult for me also. I’d be tempted to eat more as well.
Meaty Bacon!? LOL. So it wasn’t fatty?
It’s good you can do partial workouts at home bc of this rain and problems with gym. I prefer to exercise at gym because I love to be around others. When I am home, I like to relax there. I am not motivated at home like I am at the gym. But, if I make a lot of money and buying a “home gym” - the sorta equipment where it has all machines in one, I might opt for it and put it in my apt down the road – when I am 40…LOL. but yeah, if being a cop in the NYPD changes things, I may opt to change my lifestyle / routine. We’ll see. Maybe I’ll do it earlier than 40 or maybe I’ll stick with my fave – the actual GYM!
Photos are amazing like from a magazine.
At home I always do my muscle work with dumbbells, ankle weights and all my floor exercises at home. Then cardio and resistance machines at the gym. I like to be around other members as well.
But this is a resort gym, so very small and I have it all to myself 98% of the time. And when someone does come in there is no guarantee they speak English. I bought the yoga mat 2 years ago to use here and we store it with our other stuff. I bought new ankle weights this year because last years fell apart. These are better quality.
We managed to ride our bikes to dinner last night, and stopped at a beach first. No rain at all yesterday, just dark clouds. Went to the gym at my usual time - 7am, and and I usually leave just after 8. So, of course, at 7:45 it started to pour rain. It did stop though and I rode my bike home.
Posting a photo of the Big Buddha from last year for HOP. You can see it from the plane when you're about to land. We will visit again this year, and all the temples.
Did 5 lower body sets at the gym instead of 4. Doesn’t take very long to do 4, so I’m adding an extra set.
Menu:
B: toast, porridge
L: green curry, ½ portion rice
D: staying home - bacon, eggs, toast
S: 1 light beer
Gym workout:
Lower body 10 reps x 5 sets each
Lunges - 5 kg weights
Side Lunges - 5 kg weights
squats - 5 kg weights
calf lifts - 8 kg weights
Cardio:
Elliptical intervals - 10 mins
Exercise bike - 10 mins
treadmill - 15 mins
Home: floor exercises 10 reps x 4 each
ankle weights - 3 routines for thighs, hips, glutes
Progress as of today: 14.2 lbs lost so far, only 7.8 lbs to go!
Thank you so much for another Big Buddha photo! wow. so cool. So is there anything inside? A temple? or just steps to walk up & down? haha. So many Buddhas in Thailand! Seems more than China!? maybe right!?
I do like your idea to add a set. You give me a GREAT idea of which i am going to use, for sure, for the next month at least. I have a huge difference in strength between my left side (weaker) and right side. I am going to do a set more (or even two sets) of bicep curls on left until I catch up in strength to my right (i'm a righty). I've already been trying to pick ups weights more often and handle weights at gym more often with the left side instead of my right. thanks!
China does not have many Buddhists. Much of Asia does though. Nothing inside the Buddha statue, a lot of gongs and statues at the top of the steps. Buddha is highly respected here. You must take off your shoes to go in a temple, or go up these steps. Shoulders and knees must be covered.
No bike ride today except to the gym and back. Sun is shining but the sky has lots of dark clouds. The pool hasn't warmed up yet either. So we drove to my favourite temple/pagoda. Pic below.
Menu:
B: toast, yogurt, melon
L: pad thai w/tofu, iced tea
S: almonds
D: fried rice w/veggies, mango smoothie (been craving ice cream all day)
S: 1 large light beer
Gym workout
Upper body 12 reps x 4 sets each
11 routines (3 - 8 kg dumbbells)
Cardio:
treadmill - 10 mins
elliptical - 10 mins
Home workout:
abs - 3 routines - 10 reps x 3 sets
bridge - 10 reps x 3 sets
plank - 3 x 20 seconds
triceps dips - 10 reps x 3
push ups - 10 reps x 3
Progress as of today: 14.2 lbs lost so far, only 7.8 lbs to go!
That statue is huge! Must be a really nice temple :)
No, don't miss snow. We get very little in Scotland but it does feel very cold there with high winds and cold rain. I have lived in very snowy places though!

Enjoy GrannyA.....partying is good every once in awhile :)
Yep, and we'll likely be sound asleep at midnight new year's eve!
puddles on 12/30/2016:
Pre New Years party always good to celebrate the New Year a few time before it gets here... lol Enjoy your massage Annie.
It was nice - chatted with a French couple and a Canadian couple who come every winter. Limited chats with the Thais and Burmese who work here as their English isn't great.
Oh, and loved the massage. We both have the same masseuses as last year and we let them know up front we don't like Thai massages - lots of twisting of limbs and elbows poked here and there. So we both get what we want, although hubby always says he was battered!
