(Healthy food-fitness-getting back to ideal weight)
Weight: 138.4

Today I am grateful that both my husband and I are fit and healthy and retired!

Not a formal workout day but definitely a housework workout day.

As V commented yesterday, it's harder and takes longer to tighten up excess skin as we age (although she said it nicely)   And, after all, I am 61. If my only goal was health and fitness I'd be perfectly fine at the weight I am now. So my goal weight, the batwing issue, etc are purely vanity. At age 40 I got down to 120 and it looked great on me, then. I'd look like a skeleton if I weighed that now!   But I figure it's okay to keep building muscle with vanity as motivation since the result of more muscle are all good in other ways as well - more efficient calorie-burning, strength, less prone to injury, building bone density, etc.

Felt like I had the right amount of calories yesterday for my intense workouts. And I think the extra protein helped - thanks Umpqua.

I want to reach my goal by the time we leave for Michigan on June 11th. Clothes are cheaper there so I'll be shopping for a tankini, sundresses, and capris for our trip to Thailand in January for a wedding.

Menu:

  • B:  porridge/fresh raspberries/skimmed milk, tea w/milk
  • L:  chicken breast/low fat cheddar/extra light mayo on a wheat wrap, yogurt
  • S:  grapes
  • D:  veggie chili & basmati rice, salad w/walnuts and grilled tofu
  • S:  2 oatcakes & low fat cheddar, clementine
  • Teas & water

TOTAL:  1472

Progress as of today: 28.6 lbs lost so far, only 10.4 lbs to go!

Puddles on 04/06/2013:
Good morning Annie. You are an inspiration. So dedicated to your exercises and building muscles. I always enjoy your comments. I live just above Michigan across the border into Canada. Sure hope we have nice weather by June 11. Snowing right now again. Have a great day Annie.

grannyannie on 04/06/2013:
Thanks! Are you across from the U.P. or the lower peninsula? All my family lives in Michigan. I'm sure the weather will be hot by June! :)

Tangalyn~ on 04/06/2013:
wonderful things to be thankful for today :) hope the day treats u well.

grannyannie on 04/06/2013:
Thanks! Same to you.

hollybelle on 04/06/2013:
You and husband, fit, healthy and retired - girl, you are living my dream! Housework definitely is a workout. That is what I did all last weekend. I haven't lived up to my commitment to go thru the closet a little bit at a time each day - but I did do it two days. have a lovely weekend!

grannyannie on 04/06/2013:
Yea, I'm ready to choose something else from my to-do list. Should do the ones I hate the most....

Puddles on 04/06/2013:
U P as far north as you can get Sault Ste Marie Michigan.

grannyannie on 04/07/2013:
I used to live in St. Ignace so I know the Soo!

V on 04/06/2013:
Be patient girl, Awesome things to come for your body! 61 looks stellar from my view of YOU <3

grannyannie on 04/07/2013:
Thanks, V!

getmebackto150 on 04/06/2013:
I went to a new fancy grocery store today and they had scottish oatcakes, is this what you eat?? I bought some as I remembered how much you love your oatcakes!!

grannyannie on 04/07/2013:
Yes I eat the rough or thin. What brand did you buy?

horn_of_plenty on 04/07/2013:
housework must be the hardest most hated form of exercise around! :)

grannyannie on 04/07/2013:
Yep!

(Healthy food-fitness-getting back to ideal weight)
Weight: 138.8

Today I am grateful that I live where I get the bus for free (old age! Ha!) and can enjoy reading or looking at gorgeous scenery on the way to the gym.

Rethinking some of my muscle work. Decided to stop doing the quads/hamstrings resistance machines as I really don't need them. I get plenty of exercise on those already! I'm doing more reps on the resistance machines for arms.

My problems spots are 'batwings', saddlebags (but they are shrinking), and belly fat (lots of ab muscle but an unwanted layer of fat over them!). The belly fat will be gone or nearly gone when I'm back at goal weight again.

Workout at gym:

  • 35 mins spin bike
  • 10 mins treadmill
  • 10 mins rowing machine
  • 4 sets of 12 on 3 resistance machines (1. deltoids/triceps, 2. lats & biceps, 3. pecs & triceps)
  • cables/pulley for triceps - 3 sets of 12

Workout at home: (usually push Friday's home workout over to Saturday but wanted to get it done today).  This routine takes me about an hour.

  • 7 min video routine for triceps/arms (when my 1.1 lb wrist weights arrive in the post I'll see if I'm able to use them with this routine)
  • dumbbells - 3 sets of 12 - 7 routines
  • side dips with dumbbell
  • squats
  • lunges w/dumbbells
  • thighs/glutes with ankle weights
  • planks (full and alternating)
  • push ups
  • triceps dips
  • thigh master
  • abs-4 routines
  • bridge (for glutes)

Menu:

  • B:  porridge/fresh raspberries/skimmed milk, tea w/milk, boiled egg for extra protein
  • S:  2 oatcakes w/pb, succumbed to temptation and bought a single hazelnut nougat chocolate in the chocolate shop at my bus stop - calories unknown, but it was small and I'd had a seriously intense workout
  • L:  chicken breast/lettuce/extra light mayo on a wheat wrap, grapes
  • S:  clementine
  • D:  veggie chili made with kidney beans and Quorn mince and veggies, basmati rice, salad w/pumpkin seeds
  • S:  banana, yogurt
  • Teas & water

TOTAL:  under 1700

Have a spectacular and healthy weekend!

Progress as of today: 28.2 lbs lost so far, only 10.8 lbs to go!

Puddles on 04/05/2013:
Love your expressions - batwings - lol Your doing good girl. Yes there are advantages to being 65. We don't have to pay our prescriptions only packaging fee about 2 bucks. Good luck on your workout and have a great weekend.

grannyannie on 04/05/2013:
LOL. They do look like batwings! I'm 61 but over here no one pays for prescriptions and we don't pay for health care (except out of payroll taxes of course).

getmebackto150 on 04/05/2013:
Hope you have a great day!!! If you keep doing things like planks and tricep dips and pushups your batwings will disappear!! Great workout as always and good job getting your home workout in today so you are "free" tomorrow:)

grannyannie on 04/05/2013:
Thanks! These batwings are stubborn! I do a LOT of things that focus on triceps to fill out that excess skin. :/ I'll just keep trying.

legcramps on 04/05/2013:
Have a wonderful weekend!!!

grannyannie on 04/05/2013:
Thanks! Same to you.

lolla on 04/05/2013:
Love your grateful quotes!Have a great weekend!!!

Puddles on 04/05/2013:
It is the same here in Canada. Free health care.

grannyannie on 04/05/2013:
In Scotland there are free prescriptions for everyone, but in England they still have to pay. Otherwise, it's the same. Happy I'm retired here and not in the US!

biscottibody59 on 04/05/2013:
Inching down on the scale I see--woo-hoo!

grannyannie on 04/05/2013:
:)

V on 04/05/2013:
Congrats on downward movement on the scale :) Okay so as far as the excess skin(bat wings/saddle bags well the skin may not be as pliable as it used to be so keep that in mind..As you know already that getting super defined abs is my mission in life however I keep in mind that just like weight loss, definition does NOT happen overnight so just strive to be the BEST Annie you can be <3

grannyannie on 04/06/2013:
V, thanks. And I know it's harder to get rid of excess skin as we get older - my skin is much less elastic. I was pretty happy with the size of my belly when I was down at 128-130 but did need more muscle. Now I've got the muscle, but just need to shrink the belly. :) Aye, I can be impatient!

(Healthy food-fitness-getting back to ideal weight)
Weight: 139.4

Today I am grateful for blue water, blue sky, and flowers.

Started snacking last night. Feel like I'm calorie-deprived on my intense workout days. Guess I need to increase the calories on those days. And I don't want my body getting the idea that it only needs 1500 calories a day!

I ordered some light wrist weights - just 1/2 kg (1.1 lbs) to use with this video which I've been doing faithfully for months:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dQOBbLnk7o

Workout:

  • 30 mins spin bike class (always feels like 60 mins!)

Menu:

  • B:  porridge/cinnamon/raisins/slivered almonds/skimmed milk, tea w/milk
  • L:  pbj sandwich
  • S:  grapes
  • D:  veggie curry & basmati rice, salad w/walnuts
  • S:  2 oatcakes w/low fat cheddar, V8
  • Teas and water
TOTAL:  1481

Progress as of today: 27.6 lbs lost so far, only 11.4 lbs to go!

OhioRaven on 04/04/2013:
It stinks living in Ohio sometimes. The only blue water I could find was in our toilet bowl :v)>

grannyannie on 04/04/2013:
LOL.

Umpqua on 04/04/2013:
Good plan, maybe work on upping the protein on your higher intensity workout days? Hope you have a good one!

grannyannie on 04/04/2013:
Good idea. Maybe an egg with my porridge.

Puddles on 04/04/2013:
I was extra hungry for protein yesterday. I did have a busy day of running around. Never notice last time this happened if I had about the same kind of schedule during the day. Have a great day Annie

grannyannie on 04/04/2013:
Thanks. Yea, we need to pay attention to what our bodies are telling us.

legcramps on 04/04/2013:
If you're feeling calorie-deprived, you probably are. You get some pretty intense workouts in, so you really need to listen to what your body is telling you. Hope you're having (had?) a good day today :)

grannyannie on 04/04/2013:
Yes, had a good day. :) After dinner here.

Puddles on 04/04/2013:
Hi again Annie it is the same one u-tube video that V suggested. I totally understand the arms burning I thought they would fall off. At time found myself having one down when it should have been up LOL but eventually will be able to do it all the right way. A little at a time - this is all new to me.

grannyannie on 04/04/2013:
Yea, it feels like your arms will fall off! It slowly gets a wee bit easier. Imagine what the burn is doing for those arm muscles!

lolla on 04/04/2013:
Good job listening to your body and working out!

getmebackto150 on 04/04/2013:
GOod job listening... I find that if I am TRULY hungry at night, then its best to listen to that body!!! Have a great day:)

grannyannie on 04/04/2013:
I do ask myself, is it really hunger or is it just wanting to munch. This time it was hunger.

V on 04/04/2013:
Getting those calories in on the super charged days are key! Although i don't count calories anymore, my body lets me know when it is time to fuel up and when it has enough..Hope that your day was a good one Annie :)

Weight: 139.4

Today I am grateful that I am very limber!

My kitchen is absolutely spotless!  Won't last long though as my hubby cooks 99% of the dinners!

We are actually having a drought here! (That is extremely rare!)  There is another area of the highlands that is having lots of wildfires (near Fort William) because it is so dry. On a good note though we've been having lovely blue skies and sunshine. Still chilly though.

Workout at gym:
  • 20 mins treadmill
  • 10 mins rowing machine
  • 20 mins spin bike - someone was on the only spin bike for an hour so I couldn't get on till the end of my routine.  Grrr...
  • 3 sets of 12 on 6 resistance machines
  • cables/pulley for triceps - 3 sets of 12
Workout at home:
  • 7 min video routine for triceps/arms
  • dumbbells - 3 sets of 12 - 7 routines
  • side dips with dumbbell
  • squats
  • lunges w/dumbbells
  • thighs/glutes with ankle weights
  • planks (full and alternating)
  • push ups
  • triceps dips
  • thigh master
  • abs-4 routines
  • bridge (for glutes)
Menu:
  • B:  porridge/cinnamon/raisins/slivered almonds/skimmed milk, tea w/milk
  • S:  post-workout:  2 oatcakes w/pb
  • L:  grilled cheese sandwich, clementine
  • D:  veggie curry & basmati rice, salad w/pumpkin seeds
  • S:  banana, Ryvita cracker pepper cracker
  • Teas & water
TOTAL: 1499

Progress as of today: 27.6 lbs lost so far, only 11.4 lbs to go!

Enjoy your blue skies Annie! We are soggy today, but that makes my plants happy! You have a lot of exercise scheduled for today, don't over do it!

grannyannie on 04/03/2013:
Thanks! This is my usual Mon and Wed routine. On Friday I switch part two to Sat.

Your workout looks especially intense today:) Enjoy the nice weather and hopefully you will get needed rain one day when you don't need to be outside:) Have a great day:)

grannyannie on 04/03/2013:
Thanks! Don't miss the rain but the flowers do. Just my usual Mon/Weds workout. :)

Puddles on 04/03/2013:
Impressive workouts. You are doing good. Food sounds great. Congrats on a clean kitchen. Must be a great feeling. Have a great day.

hollybelle on 04/03/2013:
What? Drought in Scotland? It's good to have a good clean kitchen. I need to organize all my plastic containers - they keep falling out of the cupboard! I don't know why I don't keep them straight. They are on the bottom and I just throw them in there until I have to stop and organize them all again!

grannyannie on 04/03/2013:
When we got a new kitchen we got a big corner cupboard with lazy susan shelves, so all my plastic containers are in there. Have to keep them organized or they fall and are a pain to fish out of there!

legcramps on 04/03/2013:
Wow, a drought? Crazy! Hope those wildfires don't come too close to you!

grannyannie on 04/03/2013:
Yea, weird that I can't remember the last time it rained! Just some snow flurries that didn't stick. The fires are a long way from us.

V on 04/03/2013:
Nice to have a spotless kitchen :) RYC sure I could loan ya some super charged energy, no batteries though just will and determination, but then again you know that cause it's in YOU as well Annie <3

Today I am grateful for the beautiful scenery just on my doorstep!

Finally back down to the 130's!

Not a 'formal' workout day, but I am getting a workout. Trying to finish my spring cleaning in the kitchen today. Had to climb on the counter to clean the windows and also to clean the stainless steel hood over the cooker. Stainless steel cooker looks very nice when it's shiny, but getting and keeping it that way is a big pain!

Menu:

  • B:  porridge/cinnamon/raisins/slivered almonds/skimmed milk, tea w/milk
  • L:  grilled cheese sandwich w/low fat cheddar and whole grain bread, apple
  • S:  clementine

(Healthy food-fitness-getting back to ideal weight)
Weight: 140.0

Today I am grateful for sunshine!

This is a Bank Holiday and the gym didn't open till 10, so I got a later start than normal plus had to pick up a few things afterwards before I caught the bus. So, shorter than normal gym workout.

I'm noticing a change in my shape - disappearing saddlebags, bigger calf and thigh muscles, and harder abs and waist. I wonder if the scale is reflecting muscle gain and my goal should be 130, not 128. Guess I'll decide as I get closer to it.

Workout at gym:

  • 35 mins spin bike - except for 5 min warm up and 5 min cool down the bike's programme wanted me to stand (hill/run/jumps) the entire time!  I had to take a few 15-30 second breaks for water and catch my breath, but otherwise kept up. Seriously intense!
  • 10 mins elliptical
  • 3 sets of 12 on 3 resistance machines
  • cables/pulley for triceps - 3 sets of 12
Workout at home:
  • 7 min video routine for triceps/arms (this is starting to feel too easy, so I'll need to look for a tougher one - either that or get some wrist weights and use those with this video)
  • dumbbells - 3 sets of 12 - 7 routines
  • side dips with dumbbell
  • squats
  • lunges w/dumbbells
  • thighs/glutes with ankle weights
  • planks (full and alternating)
  • push ups
  • triceps dips
  • thigh master
  • abs-4 routines
  • bridge (for glutes)
Menu:
  • B:  porridge/cinnamon/raisins/slivered almonds/skimmed milk, tea w/milk
  • S:  post-workout:  2 oatcakes w/pb
  • L:  chicken breast/low fat cheddar/extra light mayo/lettuce on a wheat wrap
  • S:  apple
  • D:  veggie curry & basmati rice, salad w/pumpkin seeds
  • S:  banana, dried apricots
  • Teas & water and evil soda
TOTAL:  1466

Progress as of today: 27 lbs lost so far, only 12 lbs to go!

Puddles on 04/01/2013:
Your doing good Annie have a great day.

getmebackto150 on 04/01/2013:
Yay for sensing a change in your shape... That always makes me so very happy! Have a great day!!

thenewMLE on 04/01/2013:
Work it girl!! I'm sure with the workouts you are gaining muscle and muscle tone. Your foods sound great today. What is the bank holiday? Is it for Easter or something else? I went to the bank Friday to deposit a check and cash one for my daughter and they were closed which surprised me because they are now always closed on a Saturday and I didn't think they could be closed 3 days in a row. Oh, well, I'll have to find time before I leave Thursday for Oklahoma. Enjoy your day!

grannyannie on 04/01/2013:
This bank holiday is for Easter Monday but we get a lot of bank holiday Mondays that just don't mean anything at all.

OhioRaven on 04/01/2013:
I'd like to SEE my abs someday :v)>

grannyannie on 04/01/2013:
LOL! You will!

Umpqua on 04/01/2013:
That's awesome that you're noticing a change in your shape! My abs are the first place I gain and the first place I notice it when I lose fat. I'm sure you're making progress so don't worry too much about the scale!

grannyannie on 04/01/2013:
First place I notice as well. Layer of fat over all that muscle yet though! :)

V on 04/01/2013:
Great job at re thinking your goal weight, as long as you are healthy and fit and you feel good about what you are wearing, the number on the scale isn't as important..Oh RYC, thanks you are a Machine as well and Yep Committed is a great place to be ;) LOL Have a great evening my friend!

Happy Easter to those who celebrate!

Not a workout day but certainly wasn't a rest day. Day 2 of doing a top to bottom cleaning/reorganizing in the kitchen. No one would have looked at it before and said it wasn't clean, but I know it's cleaner. Doing a really thorough job this time. Saved the worst jobs for last - cleaning the stainless steel hood over the cooker and the stainless steel hob. We don't use the oven much except for occasional baking so it doesn't need it. Also still need to clean out the pantry closet and the fridge. I actually enjoyed cleaning today as I had made a playlist on my Ipod of the Beatles songs I like best - had 3 hours of them. So I sang along while I cleaned and organized.    Fortunately, hubby didn't have to hear me as he was out.

Menu:

  • B:  porridge/cinnamon/raspberries/strawberries/skimmed milk, tea w/milk
  • L:  chicken breast/extra light mayo/lettuce in a wheat wrap, yogurt w/strawberries
  • D:  2 Quorn southern style patties, boiled potatoes, gravy, salad w/walnuts and a clementine, 1 Ryvita cracked pepper cracker
  • S:  lemon & poppyseed spelt bread with 5g light spread, V8
  • Teas & water & evil soda

TOTAL:  1452

Progress as of today: 27 lbs lost so far, only 12 lbs to go!

grannyannie on 03/31/2013:
Yep. I have the entire collection.

Puddles on 03/31/2013:
We are definitely of the same era. The Beatles my teenage years. I also have all their albums that is how old I am. LOL LOL - and I too enjoy their songs. I know what you mean when you say only you know it was dirty. It also gets to me when I know but nothing shows. Have a great day and your doing a great job.

grannyannie on 03/31/2013:
LOL. I don't have the albums any more but bought the remastered set of CD's a few years ago. I saw them on Ed Sullivan in 1964 just before my 12th birthday! :)

Yea, who but me will know if the knick knacks on the kitchen window sill are dusty or not?!

Tangalyn~ on 03/31/2013:
hope u have a happy easter :)

hollybelle on 03/31/2013:
Yes, I can only "surface clean" so long before I have to get in and "deep clean". Usually a couple - three times a year. I want to take it even further this time and get rid of excess and unused things like clothes, shoes, EVERYTHING. I am just in that mood to do it.

grannyannie on 04/01/2013:
I do it about twice a year, sometimes 3. I get rid of stuff when I do it as well.

V on 04/01/2013:

Puddles on 03/30/2013:
Good morning Annie - You have a long list of work. Easy does it - I am doing the same my to do list is getting a little bit shorter. Have a great day.

grannyannie on 03/30/2013:
Very long list! It's small painting jobs, spring cleaning type jobs - cleaning closets, sanding the garden benches, sanding and re-oiling the beech kitchen counters (hate that one). No rush, but want them all done by the time family visits in Sept.

(Healthy food-fitness-getting back to ideal weight)
Weight: 140.0

Today I am grateful that I have a home, food, clean water, as so many people lack those.

The lemon poppyseed spelt bread I made yesterday was good. Not low-cal but I can calculate the calories in grams. I made it with white spelt but I also bought wholegrain, so I'll try the next batch with that.

The gym will be re-opened on Saturday but I never go on weekends, so I'll go back on Monday. I've missed the gym.

Workout at home:
  • 60 mins exercise bike (not nearly as strenuous as the spin bike!)
Menu:
  • B:  porridge/cinnamon/raisins/slivered almonds/skimmed milk, tea w/milk
  • S:  lemon/poppyseed spelt bread w/lite spread
  • L:  tuna/extra low fat mayo/lettuce in a wheat wrap, grapes, clementine
  • D:  veggie curry & basmati rice, salad w/walnuts
  • S: fat-free yogurt w/fresh blueberries, apple
  • Teas & water
TOTAL:  1474

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Progress as of today: 27 lbs lost so far, only 12 lbs to go!

OhioRaven on 03/29/2013:
You were the talk of the blog yesterday with your bread making. Have a lovely weekend too, Annie.

grannyannie on 03/29/2013:
Cheers, Ohio!

Puddles on 03/29/2013:
So very true some people have nothing we are very lucky and we should not just take it for granted. Have a great weekend.

Tangalyn~ on 03/29/2013:

grannyannie on 03/29/2013:
:)

Umpqua on 03/29/2013:
I didn't realize there were white and whole grain spells. Always something new to learn. Hope you have a great weekend!

hollybelle on 03/29/2013:
Sounds wonderful - I may try bread AGAIN - glutton for punishment, I guess.

V on 03/29/2013:
Have a wonderful evening Annie <3

horn_of_plenty on 03/29/2013:
if you are trying to cut calories, almond milk is the way to go. it's super low in calories - only 30 or 40 per cup!!! so it's a great filler...like in cereals...and then you can have something along with the cereal, like a cheese stick, or yogurt, or nuts...you can eat more, for less!

grannyannie on 03/30/2013:
I always use skimmed milk in my porridge and tea - a bit more calories - 35 in 100ml so a cup would be about 70 I think. I'll give it a try though.

Mornin' Annie. Did you get anything good at the health food store yesterday ? Warm wishes coming your way, Annie.

grannyannie on 03/28/2013:
Mornin'. Just got some spelt flour. Eating the lemon poppyseed spelt bread I made right this minute. :)

hollybelle on 03/28/2013:
I'll tell you, I cannot make bread to save my life! It almost always fails! Many told me that if I used a Bread Machine it HAD to turn out, but nooooooo. So I envy those who can actually make bread! Then again, if I could I would be tempted to eat the WHOLE loaf! Have a great day, Annie!

grannyannie on 03/28/2013:
I always use the machine, but when I do the French I only do dough cycle and do the rest myself. I make hubby's bread that he has for toast and it used to rise nicely, but now it's flat. Still tastes great though. This spelt bread came out very nicely.

Puddles on 03/28/2013:
I do make bread from scratch but the reason I don't anymore is because I love it way toooooooo much. There is nothing like the smell of fresh bread cooking in the house. My Grandson loves his bread and even at 7 has a joy of cooking. I will be teaching him how to do this once I move closer to them. Have a great day Annie.

grannyannie on 03/28/2013:
Yea, the smell can drive me nuts when I'm hungry. I rarely eat the normal bread I make for hubby's toast as it's just too heavy to use for sandwiches. But I'll sometimes have one thick slice for pbj toast. Mmmm...

getmebackto150 on 03/28/2013:
Oh my that bread sounds amazing! Your menu looks great. Hope you have a good day:)

grannyannie on 03/28/2013:
Thanks. Bread is yummy.

supercheese on 03/28/2013:
bread sounds awesome!!! Homemade bread is always 10x better and yummier! Im a big fan of spelt bread too

grannyannie on 03/28/2013:
First time I've tried spelt bread. Bought some white and wholegrain flour. Yum!

liza36 on 03/28/2013:
The poppyseed bread sounds delicious. Way to go with your home workouts. You always impress me with what you do.

grannyannie on 03/28/2013:
Thanks Liza. I have big motivation - I don't want to be a frail, weakling of an old woman! I'd love to keep feeling 20 years younger than I am.

thenewMLE on 03/28/2013:
Your bread sounds great. I have never tried spelt, but I have been soaking the whole wheat flour and pastry flour overnight in buttermilk to break down the husk and make it easier on the digestion to make the muffins. My last bread was a multi grain raisin bread that I did with whole wheat flour, rye flour and little bread flour. The dough went through the dough cycle on the machine and then rolled it out and brushed it with cinnamon, brown sugar and raisins - rolled it up like a jelly roll and put it in a loaf pan and baked it. Yum... Can you post your poppyseed bread recipe?

grannyannie on 03/28/2013:
I tried spelt because I've heard it's good for you and is easier to digest, not that I have trouble digesting bread. So you may want to try that. Your bread sounds yummy, but I'm afraid I'd eat the whole thing. I would post the recipe but it's in metric. Should be easy to find one online.

biscottibody59 on 03/28/2013:
Sounds like a good day!

Umpqua on 03/28/2013:
Nom nom on the bread. I've seen a lot of recipes with spelt and have never tried. it. I usually use white whole wheat or whole wheat pastry flour in my recipes - need to check out the spelt.

grannyannie on 03/28/2013:
The bread I make for hubby's toast is called Country Grain and has wheat flour, wheat flakes, rye flour, malted barley flour. I add sesame seeds, sunflower seeds and linseeds. A heavy bread good for toast and too heavy for sandwiches.

V on 03/28/2013:
Your bread sounds extra nummy :P Hope that it warms up nicely for you guys..Have a great evening my friend <3
