I'm sure it's mostly fluid loss but the scale this morning said 3 pounds since Tuesday. I'll take it!
Back feels fine. This is my usual spin bike class day but I'm definitely not ready for it. I think I'll take a break from the class for a while and do other things.
Husband got stuck on the island last night. The ferry was cancelled due to high winds. Fortunately, there was an available bed in the hostel. No word on the jobs for daughter yet. Her toe feels much better so she is back at work today.
Modified my workouts today, but I'm betting I'll have sore muscles tomorrow. It's almost like starting from scratch to go so long without working out!

Daughter's interviews went very well. Hubby FB'd me a photo of her in her new outfit and she looked very nice! Looks like a damaged tendon in her toe, so she'll be hobbling for a while and off work. Crossing our fingers that she gets one of the jobs for next year!!
Hope we don't have to wait too long to find out if she got a job!
Nice to look forward to good things with your daughter's happenings--I hope you both mend well!
(Thanks for the pic as usual:-)
Hi all! Thanks for your comments and welcomes. Back from 4 weeks of travelling with my sister and brother and we had such a good time. It was exhausting though. My exercise was mainly lots of walking. As reflected by the scale I did overindulge!
However, I really enjoyed myself and did not beat myself up over it. 3 of us are beer drinkers and we loved sampling different ales at the pubs. 14+ weeks before we go to Thailand and I need to lose at least 14 pounds, so not an impossible goal at all.
Daughter has two job interviews today on the island but last night she sprained her ankle at the ceilidh dance. She had to be carried back to her room, poor soul. She can't get her nice, new shoes on today for the interview so will go with one foot bandaged. Hubby left this morning to spend the night at the hostel and give her moral support for her afternoon interview. I bowed out though as I have too much to do and didn't want to delay getting back on track by another 2 days. Daughter will be back here in 3 weeks as her volunteering will be finished. Then she'll be here for 2 weeks before going back to Uganda.
Grocery shopping this morning after I dropped hubby at the bus stop. Nothing but healthy food. Lots of laundry and housework to do.
Menu:
TOTAL: 1290
Tomorrow: back to the gym
Progress as of today: 22.8 lbs lost so far, only 16.2 lbs to go!
Sorry to hear about your daughter's ankle, but hopefully her interviews go well... crossing my fingers for her!
Brother and sister flying home now. We have done a LOT of sightseeing, eating out, drinking beer etc etc.
Back on track tomorrow. Will get on the dreaded scale tomorrow morning then catch up on diaries.
Progress as of today: 29.8 lbs lost so far, only 7.2 lbs to go!
Hi all! Got back from Ireland yesterday. Clothes a wee bit tighter. Weather wasn't great - first two days had high winds, but nice trip anyway.
Daughter got her visa! She goes back to the island Wednesday.
My brother arrives tomorrow morning. Touring Scotland.
Progress as of today: 29.8 lbs lost so far, only 7.2 lbs to go!
Grrr....so annoyed at the screw up with immigration. We are hoping she can stay on the island without working until she gets her visa. She can't go to Ireland with us while she is waiting as immigration has her passport. At least we don't have to worry about her being an illegal immigrant. As long as the Home Office is considering her application she is fine. We've changed her flight from tomorrow to November.
Sister's plane arrives just before 4pm today (unless she misses her connecting flight - she only has one hour to do so! Going into Glasgow shortly for lunch with uncle and then we'll take sister to dinner after we pick her up.
Have a healthy, happy day everybody!
Sister arrives tomorrow afternoon. House is spotless (well, nearly). Moved our daughter into my gym and brought the twin bed down from the loft for her. My brother will use it when he arrives in two weeks.
Not going to stress about what I eat or drink. My sister is a good influence as she does not have food issues and is not a junk food or sweets person - just occasionally. Her doctor has actually told her recently she needs to gain weight! Would I love to hear those words. Got my lists done for Ireland as we go on Saturday for a week. Might as well buy groceries and stuff here instead of over their as Ireland is expensive. We are taking the car ferry over so packing is not an issue.
Still waiting for daughter's letter from immigration telling her to get her biometrics. We're sure she'll be given the extension to her visa but the waiting (and the inefficiency of the office) is maddening. She can't come to Ireland with us (they have her passport). So we are thinking of options.
Workout at gym: (short workout - had stuff to do)
Menu:
TOTAL: about 1700
My posting will be sporadic while my sister is here, especially in Ireland as I doubt I'll be online much.
Progress as of today: 29.8 lbs lost so far, only 7.2 lbs to go!
ps I got into the Magnum bars a little last month--the double caramel--yikes!
Busy day. Finished doing a good cleaning in the kitchen and hallway (lot of photos on the wall), washing windows, laundry, etc etc. I also did some painting in an area where we used to have a radiator but it was moved when we got the new heating system. Easy to ignore but you notice it more when guests are coming.
Our dear friend lost an election and we are very sad about that. She was nonstop crying. And she was by far the best candidate.
Lots of activity today but no workout. Should have done my muscle routines. Will try to do tomorrow even though I have more tasks to finish.

TOTAL: no idea

I emailed our local MP (member of parliament) to ask for help finding out about daughter's visa. I emailed him Monday but didn't get a reply until today. He got in touch with the immigration office and emailed me back. The idiots had gotten the address wrong so the letter telling her to get the biometrics for her passport (which must mean she got the visa extension!) was returned. The island she was on has a population of about 100 not including the volunteers. It went to the wrong address because immigration are idiots. House names are in Gaelic and it went to the wrong one. So it was returned to immigration in London and has been sitting there for nearly 4 weeks! They have resent it out again today in overnight mail to the main office on the island thanks to our MP. So we are hoping she'll have her visa by the middle of next week. We hope she's back on the island before we go to Ireland a week from tomorrow. Otherwise, she has to stay here by herself as she can't come with us to Ireland w/o her passport.
Scale said 139 last week and today it said 137. More calories - weight loss? Hmm.. Well, it's better not to be depriving myself just before a holiday because that's when I overindulge and end up with lots to lose after the holiday.
Been washing windows, doing extra cleaning, airing out duvets and a mattress before my sister then brother come.

Don't know how I managed to lose. I could feel it in my belly, so got on the scale the last two mornings. Not going to stress about my weight right now. I WILL be 128-130 when I go to Thailand!
enjoy your day :)
Okay I know I ask you this every year but may I come to Ireland with you guys? PLEEEEEEEEESE??? hahahaha you know I love my gaelic boys <3 ;) Love ya Annie please say YES!! LOL
Still not behaving but not as bad as I was. No visa yet!! We are all getting stressed here!
Today I 'supercleaned' my gym (aka spare bedroom) which is the room my brother will use when he arrives. Sister gets the guestroom that daughter now occupies.

Good going on the loss, and I'm happy your back is feeling better!
Me too! Thanks

Coming back after you've been away from it for awhile is always tough. I know when I took two weeks off... JUST TWO WEEKS... I felt like I hadn't worked out in years. Everything was hard for me to do. But you'll quickly get back into the swing of things. Keep it up!!
I notice that it's harder even when I skip just one week! Arghh... I'll be back to normal in a couple of weeks.

Welcome back to your lifestyle.
Ta. I did enjoy all the indulging but I wasn't fond of my clothes getter tighter and tighter and tighter. :O
