Guess the 3.6 lb loss since Friday is now more than just fluid and is now becoming fat loss. My belly is a bit smaller. 

I'm anxious to go out and power walk or ride my bike, but still too chilly. I will power walk when it hits 10C/50F if it's not windy or wet.  

Getting a new heating system installed in 10 days (air heat pump) so the house will be in a mess soon and cold while the heat is off.  Our heating costs will be cut by about 2/3!

Workout at gym:

  • 35 mins spin bike
  • 10 mins treadmill
  • 5 mins rowing machine
  • 3 sets of 12 on 6 resistance machines
  • cables/pulley for triceps - 3 sets of 12

Workout at home:

  • 7 min video routine for triceps/arms
  • dumbbells - 3 sets of 12 - 7 routines
  • side dips with dumbbell
  • squats
  • lunges w/dumbbells
  • thighs/glutes with ankle weights
  • planks (full and alternating)
  • push ups
  • triceps dips
  • thigh master  
  • abs-4 routines
  • bridge (for glutes)

Menu:

  • B:  porridge/cinnamon/raisins/slivered almonds/skimmed milk, tea w/milk
  • S:  post gym workout:  2 oatcakes w/pb
  • L:  grilled low fat cheddar on whole grain bread, plain fat free yogurt w/fresh raspberries & strawberries
  • D:  tofu curry & rice, salad w/walnuts
  • S:  apple
  • Lots of teas and water

TOTAL:  1496

Progress as of today: 24.8 lbs lost so far, only 14.2 lbs to go!

Glad to hear our weight continues down and yes I agree now turning into fat loss! I think heating costs cut by 2/3 is worth a short period of cold and mess... Heat is EXPENSIVE!!! Your menu and workout looks great!!!

I saw you post on Umpqua's diary that you used to be a vegan too, I did as well, but it is HARD!!! Are you still vegetarian? Or eat mostly vegetarian??

Nicely done Annie! I love your workouts for today :) I really miss doing that 7 minute arm routine, I do so many dam pushups in most every workout, my arms are pretty much cashed every day.Tomorrow I am shooting for it though since I am working the lower body.. i will let ya know how I did :) Have a wonderful day <3

I'm back on track and strictly keeping to my alloted calories. Scale down again but probably still water loss. 

Workout at home:

  • 45 mins tae bo/jump rope

Menu:

  • B:  porridge/cinnamon/raisins/slivered almonds/skimmed milk, tea w/milk
  • L:  turkey bacon and egg sandwich, plain fat free yogurt w/raspberries & strawberries and cinnamon
  • S:  clementine
  • D:  veggie curry & rice, salad
  • S:  1 oatcake, V8, banana
  • Teas and water

TOTAL:  1490

I wonder if you've got a super-duper, special jumprope? I'm not anywhere near fit enough to do it now--but I will be attempting it (again) in the future. I used to use a plain rope, but I have one with handles that I bought quite a long time ago.

Thanks for comments yesterday! Went to the gym then grocery shopping today. No junk food whatsoever. I'm also trying to keep artificial and real sugar to a bare minimum. So I bought plain, fat free yogurt and raspberries & strawberries to mix in and will eat it without any sweetener. Didn't buy any hot chocolate mixes either - fake sugar. 

I got on the scale this morning and updated my status.     

In the UK weight is measured in stones (14 lbs) and pounds. So I have to lose at least 1 stone. Goal is before May 1st. 

Workout at gym:

  • 30 mins spin bike
  • 10 mins treadmill
  • 10 mins elliptical
  • 5 mins rowing machine (wanted to do 10 mins for a solid 60 min cardio but ran out of steam!)
  • 3 sets of 12 on 6 resistance machines

Menu:

  • B:  porridge/cinnamon/raisins/slivered almonds/skimmed milk, tea w/milk
  • S:  post workout: 2 oatcakes w/natural pb
  • L:  chicken breast sandwich on whole grain bread w/extra light mayo
  • S:  red grapes
  • D:  veggie curry & rice, salad
  • S:  plain, non-fat yogurt w/fresh raspberries, glass of V8
  • Lots of water and teas
TOTAL:  1502

Your pics are gorgeous!! What a wonderful trip. You brought back very fond memories for me. I went to France when I was 16 and my strongest memory was the french bread, butter and homemade jams for breakfast! I also learned how to drink tea with out milk in it there. I wish I could return as the seasoned photographer I am now... Glad you enjoyed your trip. Your weight should come off like it always has plus you got to enjoy a wonderful memorable dining experience! I'm leaving for natchez after work and I will be out for lunch so I probably won't post today but I'll be back Monday. Have a great weekend!

Hope all of you are doing well and getting/staying healthy and fit.  

Back from France and had a fantastic time even though it was unusually cold. After the architecture and character in medieval villages, my favourite French thing is the gorgeous food. So with the weight gain from a month in Uganda and the week in France I've got quite a bit to lose. Don't know what my weight is but I can see and feel the excess. I won't change the number in my status until I weigh myself in a couple of days. 

We stayed at friends' house in the southern Rhone-Alpes region of France, so is Meditteranean in climate and foods. Our host/hostess are fantastic cooks! Lunch and dinner were both large meals with wine served at both, and breakfast mainly being fresh French bread with butter and homemade jam, sometimes Pain au chocolat (chocolate croissant), clementines, bananas.

Some of the other foods we ate: many kinds of salads at both lunch and dinner, fresh French bread (white/brown/seeded) at all 3 meals

paella, prawns, mussels, scallops, squid, clams, chicken, guinea fowl, ham, sausages, tuna, mignon of pork, vegetable soup

varieties of cheeses usually served at the end of both lunch and dinner

fruit salads, crepes, potatoes, veggies

chocolate whisky cake, chocolates, nougat (the nearest town is the nougat capitol), real hot chocolate

beer, wine - red, rose, white, champagne, pastis (liquer)

Soooo......I'm back on track beginning tomorrow. Back to the gym and counting every calorie.

Ugh! I've been snacking and pigging out. Way too much wine at our friends' on Saturday night. Tomorrow we go to Edinburgh to spend the night as our flight is early Weds morning.  

Haven't stepped on the scale for several days. 

Lovely day today. Cold but sunny.

Workout at gym:

  • 35 mins spin bike
  • 15 mins treadmill
  • 10 mins rowing machine
  • 3 sets of 12 on 6 resistance machines
  • cables/pulley for triceps - 3 sets of 12

Menu:

Healthy eating plus I stopped at the chocolate shop to get a gift for our hosts in France and picked up a small bag of chocolate buttons for myself which I've already eaten.  

Going to have to get VERY strict when we come back from France!!!

I am sure you are getting pretty excited for your trip :) I am sure it will be a blast! RYC yes I am hoping for a little downtime ater I finish cooking and before I go over to my friend's.. All they want to do is play tag..LOL That is really refreshing seeing as though most kids would rather play computer games or veg in front of the telly.. Excited that the editor of a journal wants to use several of my photos for the cover!!  I doubt they pay for them but that doesn't matter. To have something of mine published is reward enough.  

We are spending Tuesday night at a hotel near the airport and flying to Lyon, France on Wednesday morning. 

Workout at home:

  • 7 min video routine for triceps/arms
  • dumbbells - 3 sets of 12 - 7 routines
  • side dips with dumbbell
  • squats
  • lunges w/dumbbells
  • thighs/glutes with ankle weights
  • planks (full and alternating)
  • push ups
  • triceps dips
  • thigh master  
  • abs-4 routines
  • bridge (for glutes)
  • housework
Menu:
  • B:  porridge/cinnamon/raspberries/skimmed milk, tea w/milk
  • L:  chicken and low fat cheddar on whole grain bread w/extra light mayo, yogurt
  • S:  grapes, clementines
  • pre-dinner:  salad
  • D:  at our friends' house but not until 7.30.  Having roast pork and don't know what else.  Wine.  
TOTAL:  is anybody's guess

Sunshine today and fairly mild.  

My brother happened to look at some of my recent photos that I posted on Facebook and complimented me. He said the editor of a journal he often contributes to is always looking for good photos and he gave her the link to my albums. She really liked them as well and said she spent a long time going through my albums. She chooses the cover for this quarterly journal. Soooo....we'll see what happens!!  Excited!  

Workout:

  • 15 mins elliptical
  • 20 mins treadmill
  • 22 mins spin bike (a woman hogged the only spin bike in the gym for a solid hour so I had to do this last.  Too worn out by then to do the full workout.  Grrrr...)
  • 3 sets of 12 on 6 resistance machines
Menu:
  • B:  porridge/cinnamon/raspberries/skimmed milk, tea w/milk
  • S:  2 oatcakes w/pb, stopped into chocolate shop to get a gift for our friends who have invited us to dinner tomorrow night. Samples were sitting out which I helped myself to, and then bought a small toffee/chocolate bar  
  • L:  chicken breast sandwich, yogurt
  • S:  grapes
  • D:  veggie curry & rice, salad
  • S:  V8, oatcakes
  • Teas & water
TOTAL:  don't know.  probably under 1700

  • L:  pbj sandwich and small carton oj after spin class and before grocery shopping

It has not stopped snowing since I got up this morning. It's about 35F here so it's very wet, sloppy snow. Our area of Scotland does not get much snow, so it's a big deal here.  

Back to the gym again and there was a lot of huffing and puffing on the spin bike, more than pre-Uganda trip, but I'll get back to normal soon. Not looking forward to spin bike class tomorrow!

Workout at gym:

  • 35 mins spin bike
  • 20 mins treadmill
  • 5 mins rowing machine
  • 3 sets of 12 on 6 resistance machines
  • cables/pulley for triceps - 3 sets of 12

Intended workout at home after my lunch is digested:

  • planks (full) can't get on knees yet so no alterating
  • push ups

  • S:  2 oatcakes w/pb, tea w/milk at the gym cafe
  • L:  1 egg 2 turkey bacon sandwich, yogurt

  • S:  1 oatcake & low fat cheddar
