Sun and showers today. I took a chance and went power walking/jogging - 4 miles. Used the app MapMyRun. I did the 4 miles in 55 minutes. Probably did 1/3 of it jogging.
The Cowal Games (traditional Highland Games) began Thursday and ends tonight. We don't bother going to the games any more (we get people from many countries including lots from US and Canada), but we do enjoy the March Past when all the bagpipers who competed play and march down the main street. This is followed by fireworks. So if it's not pouring rain we'll go tonight. Daughter will enjoy it.

Workout:
Menu:
TOTAL: under 1400
Progress as of today: 32.4 lbs lost so far, only 4.6 lbs to go!
Afraid to get on the scale. I guess I was feeling more deprived than I thought when I was so good for two weeks straight. I have not been good this week at all. Baked chocolate chip muffins for daughter yesterday and having them in the house makes them a lot harder to ignore!
Workout at gym:
Workout at home (upper):
Edit: after I did upper body workout I decided to do lower as well so I wouldn't need to tomorrow.
Workout at home (lower body):
Daughter is back. No word on the visa yet. We will all be very disappointed if she doesn't get it. The Community is all hoping she'll be returning in 2 weeks.
Long hike yesterday on rough ground.
Been busy getting the guest room back together for daughter, grocery shopping, housework. Back to the gym tomorrow.
Didn't count calories on food today, but will tomorrow.
Menu:
Teas, water, coffee w/almond milk
Progress as of today: 32.4 lbs lost so far, only 4.6 lbs to go!
Christening and party afterward were really nice! Nice to see some of husband's relatives we rarely see. The baby is husband's great nephew. Husband is godfather to the baby's mother. The parents had the party afterward at their home outdoors and we had a nice, sunny day. The food was awesome! Chicken made 3 or 4 different ways, roast beef, smoked salmon, some vegetarian dishes, a nice quinoa with tofu, lots of different types of salads, nice breads, lots of cakes, brownies, etc etc. I was designated driver so had 1/2 glass of champagne for the toast and 1 beer. I was due for a higher calorie day and fulfilled that!
Home late and too tired for the gym today. Will try to get in a workout later. Getting things ready for daughter to return. Wallpapering nearly done.
Taking a break from doing a menu and counting calories today, but will behave.
Tomorrow morning we are going to the island to stay the night and then bring daughter back home tomorrow afternoon.
Progress as of today: 32.4 lbs lost so far, only 4.6 lbs to go!
Non-workout day. Going to a christening this afternoon which will mean cakes and snacks, etc. At least I won't have to worry about drinking beer or wine since hubby has pointed out it's my turn to drive and we can't get there by bus. No idea what we are doing for dinner.
Goal for today was 134, not great but I guess I'm okay. I find that the holidays/vacations I'm less likely to overindulge on are the ones where I start at my ideal weight. Makes no sense, but that's me.
Didn't do my lower body routine yesterday afternoon, so doing upper and lower today.
Poor hubby is still fighting with that wallpaper. I guess there is a reason some wallpaper is cheaper than others. He had no trouble at all when he wallpapered our bedroom. I got most of that room's carpet shampooed last night, so all that's left is a small section of the room and the shampooer can go back in the loft for another year or so.
I'll be 'super-cleaning' the full bathroom today...tidying cupboards, washing all the tiles, etc. Biggest job left is washing all the windows and they are overdue!
Plans for today:
Workout at home (upper):
Workout at home (lower body):
Menu:
TOTAL: 1346
I decided to do my upper body workout yesterday that I had skipped on Wednesday due to my back. So today I'll do the lower body routine, and switch the upper to tomorrow this time.
I'm ready for a higher calorie day but we have a christening coming up Sunday which will have snacks and then on Tuesday we go to the island.
Husband is back and working away on the wallpapering. We are going to the island Tuesday as daughter leaves on Wednesday to come back with us. Hope her visa comes through by then as they want to know if she'll be returning two weeks later.
Workout:
Menu:
TOTAL: about 1300
Progress as of today: 32.2 lbs lost so far, only 4.8 lbs to go!
When she arrived here immigration thought it was pretty funny for a Ugandan to be volunteering in the UK. It's always the other way around.
Have had a backache off and on since last week from lots of bending over painting, bending over using vacuum attachments, shampooing carpet with attachment, probably moved furniture the wrong way as well. Had twinges working out Mon and Tues so not going to the gym today. Just a twinge today but figure it's best I just do some laundry and vacuum the carpets I shampooed yesterday. This is an upper body workout day but would be a good idea to do those tomorrow instead. Will do lots of gentle stretching today.
Daughter has had no reply from immigration yet regarding her application for a visa to extend her volunteering here. She is panicking. Yesterday husband and her worked on her job applications for next year at the same community. So she's feeling good about that, especially since some of the bosses there feel she'd be great in a couple of those jobs.
Menu:
TOTAL: 1303
Have a pleasant and healthy day!
P.S. what kind of veggie sausages do you have? I made some that I have frozen but they're aren't the greatest tasting to be honest. I think they are homemade seitan?
My brother is a big fan of Seitan and I like everything he cooks.
I know about visas as well as I needed 3 in a row to move here. It went well for me but I've heard it's a headache for new expats.
This is not a gym day but I needed to go into town after I dropped hubby at the bus and needed some shopping. So I thought I might as well go to the gym and do some cardio.
If the wallpaper/shampooing isn't done we'll just put her on a mattress on the floor somewhere until it is.
