Made up chicken breasts for the week. Just stuck them in meal boxes without eating any because it was time to go to bed.

Woke up late today... 9am, but better than yesterday at 12:30pm. I was out with M and we went to a vietnamese food meetup. Then when I got home the kitchen was so gross and there were so many flies I had to clean it up. So I got to bed about 1/1:30.

B: 2 eggs, cheese, kale, 1 chicken sausage

Cleaned kitchen and killed flies. Put away some clutter. Fixed a pillow. Put sweet potatoes in slow cooker.

My dad has asked for something or complained the whole morning. He has also cleaned out my stash of protein cookies. Aaaaargh. Getting out two nights in a row seems to have increased my tolerance and I am being productive anyway. Trying to tackle my living room pile. Clearing it out is kind of my unobtanium... i can't ever seem to eliminate it.

L: 2 bean burritos with enchilada sauce and cheese.

S: applesauce

Went to a pool party on Meetup and had fun. Met a cool chick and we are going body boarding on Tuesday.

S: 2 veggie burgers, veg and fruit and hummus, a brownie. Yum.

Went to the market and got a managers special of legs and thighs

D: 4 chicken legs. Sweet potato

S: 2 oreo cookie yogurt pops.

My dog got the thighs. Felt bad not giving my parents any but figured they already had dinner... and two expensive boxes of protein cookies!!!!! I'd tell them how much they were but then they would freak out. I'm sure they thought they were regular cookies. Augh. Also, they say their tummies are all screwed up. I bet! There was enough fiber in each to clean you out... and the boxes disappeared in 1 day. I hope they don't have permanent damage.

Dumped a bag of baby carrots I forgot in the freezer in the slow cooker. Hoping to make a carrot soufflé in the crockpot in the morning. Just need to puree the carrots with maple syrup, margerine and 3 eggs then put it on high 2 hours... i hope

It's been all up to me since I was 5th grade or so. If I don't clean, they don't clean. When I moved out nobody cleaned and it got really gross.

Oh boy!!!! That is a lot of high fiber cookies....just one messes me up for 12 hours...actually my Lenny and Larry ones say that 1/2 of a cookie is a serving....

Skipping Sierra Club hike as I feel like 20 miles of bad road after staying up too late working out and cleaning up dinner. Felt super bad cutting my dad off on the pork roast at one round of seconds... he doesn't limit his portions, just eats until he is too full to keep going and hurts. I remember when I was younger I thought that painful feeling of being over full was what meant I wasn't hungry anymore. It took a lot of work to learn what full means and how I am supposed to handle feeling less full on a portion. I was like this isn't the only time I am cooking this week. I'm making chicken thighs Friday.

Going to planet fitness tonight and then changing to meet that guy for frozen yogurt!

Day x of 42 of making fitness a priority. Day 2 of 60 day fitness challenge

Managed to get up on time... 7:30. Pork roast is in slow cooker. Walked dog twice and made myself breakfast. Intention was to get car washed and vacuumed early... but it is 9:45 and I am already a sweaty mess.

B: chicken sausage, 2 eggs with kale and mushrooms. Frozen applesauce in a pouch. Yuuuuuuuuumy. The dole brand doesn't have the tiny spouts so it squeezed out easy.

9:55 realized I forgot to take meds this morning and thats why I am so zombie


Not so happy with how I managed my time and priorities today, but I feel so much better.

Washed my car, vacuumed it inside and out, went through every nook and cranny to find everything that had gotten lost inside and repacked it. My camping gear is all neatly tucked away and nothing has to be in plain sight in the back seat anymore.

Went to the 99 cent store and picked up a couple of things. Had lunch at diner. Realized I was a total mess and skipped ruffling through paperwork there to go home and clean up.

Showered, dressed, brought some stuff in.

Drove down to the coworking space and craved yogurt so I went to Costco and redeemed my groupon. Window shopped there for ideas and then went back to coworking space. S: yogurt Unloaded car, terrified the owner with how much I brought in... i had my rolling wagon I use for the beach and firewood. Ha! I explained I had paperwork but first I needed to repack camping equipment.

Repacked emergency food and water into single ration ziplock bags. This took a while. Then I tucked them away. Neatly done!

Repacking backpack for conditioning hike tomorrow. I desperately need to be more comfy so I have to start using my real pack for the camelback. I can't handle the current weight though... so now that my emergency rations are out of my high school backpack, I can put anything I don't need on a day hile with a bunch of people in that and cut the weight. D: chicken and beans ---- I don't know why everything took so long today. I don't know why I picked the things I did... but was glad Carl told me to just go to the gym anyway. I really enjoy talking to him. I look forward to hanging out Friday!

Hiya Happy Lady!

I like this priority of fitness…for me too! Lately I have FORGOTTEN that it’s my priority and thought that a vacation shouldn’t have any….not so! I ended up exercising on the last night of my vaca & it worked out quite well leading into work the next day! It worked out well because I was able to sleep well all of the vacation days!

Love what slow cookers do…never got one or tried it myself (don’t have the time I want to spend doing that right now)….

Love a clean car! I do not go very often (sometimes I’ll just vacuum it myself in between car washes) because the hand wash car wash by me is approx. $20 each time.

Lettuce wrap burger with sweet potato fries sounds VERY SATISFYING!

And the whole point of a slow cooker is that you don't spend any extra time. I plug mine into a Christmas light timer and set it/forget it then eat.

Tonight, i will drop a bag of sweet potatoes in and have one for breakfast. Yum.

Day ? Of 42 of making fitness a priority.

Back from dog sitting in a location that was basically a 1 bar coverage location and no home internet. Their house is beautiful but it was really lonely there and all I could think about is how much More work I would have to do when I got home. Plus my dog really did not like being there. Their dog is awesome but he's a healthy young bulldog and my dog is a 17yo cranky old lady who is anxious and getting skinnier. I had to keep her crated there when I was busy or distracted and the rest of the time I kept her on a leash which she hated and they have hardwood floors which she skidded around on. Plus their dog is food obsessed and she doesn't really care about food and it was a hassle to deal woth my food, their food, giving them treats, and sleeping arrangements. The pool was beautiful though!

I was super PMS and out of it so I got zero done till my brain kicked back in. It's like I flatline the week before.

A lot to catch up on... From the gate to the driveway forward

- Need to unpack my car and wash and vacuum it. - Sweep the front steps to get rid of the seeds. Don't know how my parents haven't fallen - Pick up and clear the porch - Repack the go bags I keep by the door and make a doggie travel kit of the cleaners - Install the new dog gate that came while I was gone - Clean the kitchen, find the source of the terrible smell - Clean out the fridge - Pick up the dining room table - Sort through my living room pile - Change my bedding. - Cut down my old blanket to fit in my duvet. I don't want to buy a summer weight blanket and my old blanket sheds. Plus I could use the extra to make doggie pillows! - Find a new rug for the bathroom - Put air in my bike tires and the rack on the back of my mountain bike - Repack my car emergency bucket and get a new pair of nitrile coated work gloves - Get the first aid kit to an accessible spot (oh how I wish I had a 4x4 van so my gear was in better arrangement) - Unpack cooler - laundry - sweep and scrub down back patio which is a huge job itself

Some of those I feel like my parents should have been able to do while I was gone... like keep the kitchen picked up and sweep the seeds from the door... but that's the deal with hoarders. They never clean, just leave trash and dishes everywhere and just let it pile up so it is 10x more work.

In my list of personal business, which is higher priority but hard to think about until I am through with the house stuff:

- get dressed and look good for coworking space, make sure I have water for the hike tonight. If I am not all crampy and cranky - read through all my new mail - figure out my new insurance - bug the guy about training - buy more vitamins and finish sorting out my daily med packs (I make little plastic ziplocs of meds and tons of vitamins that my boss has as part of his challenge) - find receipt for the two dog gates that didn't work out and take them back to walmart - pay credit card bills and look for fraud - meal prep for week - a million other things


B: egg mcmuffin hash brown and diet coke

Got massively overwhelmed by everything I have to do and couldn't figure out lunch at home despite that there is food there. Short circuited and just went to my default closest haven point, the plaza with the 99cent store. First restaurant doesn't offer bread substitutes and I was too hungry. I went next door and just did a modified burger. I put on my favorite audio book and earphones and just tuned out.

Dude from ugly dating flaked. I liked him. He's only sending pics feom the neck up. I think he might be morbidly obese. And he shudders at the idea of joining me for a hike.

Scott flipped out last night when I said I was on a new dating site... he never wants to hang out. I didn't realize he would tale it that hard.

Going on a sierra club hike. Don't have a bandanna. Sucks to be me.

Those protein cookies are Sooooo addicting! I love them! I love the Larry & Lenny’s brand but also just bought a few flavors of a new brand I have yet to really try – I forget the brand bc they are at home & I am at work! I’ve been meaning to pack them & bring them to work so I have them for after the gym….i forgot all this week so I guess I’ll just buy one at the gym (I like to eat a carb snack right away before I get home & am so ravenous that I start to eat everything in my apt!)

Lol…I was just talking about Sam’s club to a coworker I was wonderfing if the club could give him discount rates for a car rental but it doesn’t appear that way. I know my friend who shops at Costco got a discount rate…maybe only Costco does it, not Sam’s Club…do you know?

Yeah, Scott has NO RIGHT to flip out on your decision to put yourself on a dating site…not if he never wants to be with you!!!!!!! lol….so what did you tell him!? did you say he shouldn’t have a say!?

I’ll look at the challenge to see what it’s about…why does it matter so much If you have a bandana? Maybe cut up an old shirt that you do not wear?! Also, yes, he must be heavy if he’s only showing you from the neck up – this is mostly obviously the case I’d have to assume….! He prob doesn’ t enjoy exercise at all if he freaked out that much lol. maybe he’s not your type then!?

Omg so many thoughts to reply to there...

Costco just posted a new Groupon. They give you coupons that offset the cost and I can use $45 of them towards the 24hour fitness membership.

I basically told Scott that he never wants to hang out or do anything but watch tv and we can talk about it... but basically I feel like he's not that into me and was trying to let me down easy. Somehow we haven't talked about it. He's avoidant. Still texts daily. How has this dude been married twice? 3 hookups and I'm done already.

I desperately want bandannas when I hike because I sweat like a pig. Also groups kick up dist and if you are the slowest one in the back you are sucking up all the dust. I hadd a buff headwrap and that worked ok, but a nice cotton bandanna is less scratchy. I have a bunch, they just weren't in my car. The old tshirt idea is good though.

So yeah he's heavy. Got a full body shot over the weekend and he's a big dude. He's working on it though... making low carb choices and has a planet fitness membership. I don't know if he goes often enough or gets enough sleep. He's a security guard manager and works crazy shifts.

Get this though... weirdly we figured out that he went to high school with a friend of mine. Good family and they have really solid friends so I'm kind of more interested now... assuming he gets off the couch on his days off and isn't so run down he can't do anything fun.

Day 9 of 42 of making workouts my priority

Finally some quiet today. I got to bed on time last night, but everything from  5pm yesterday on was really hard and wore me out so I woke up at 10:30AM. Parents were actually up and fighting so I just kind of hid till they left at 12:45pm. Delayed eating and being effective for the day, but on track now.

12:45 pm - Emailed old boss that I'd like to redo the vimify challenge now that I'm back in 1 piece from the bad chiro adjustment and foot injury.

B: 3 eggs scrambled and smothered with the meat sauce I made yesterday and parmesan. Found that the bag of kale I opened was half south, so I need to wash it and clean off the muck before using. Wish my worm bin was working.

Saw the hot guy on uglydatingsite.com sent me an email!!!!!! Yes!!!!!!!!!

1:30: Called Aetna. Health Insurance is turned back on!!!! YAY!!!!! I can go get my prescriptions. I won't completely screw up my life for months on end in a single week.

1.45pm: Need to make the most of the remaining time at home alone... Kitchen is a wreck... I have tons to do of personal stuff... Hmm... Probably kitchen since they are most likely to start another fight while I am cleaning that up.

4:15: Kitchen was a horror show and sweated so much I had to take a second shower. I'm going to have to buy a proper broom.

Off to get prescriptions and go to target to pick up my order and make returns to Walmart.

actually, i do know why - lack of sleep. it has me starting to feel very down...i need to work on getting more sleep during the work week!

Day 8 of 42

Up at 8am! Not 6AM, but better than 4am so I'll take it and work on it. Small victories and baby steps.

I think from now on, I will make exercise days "no cooking" days since it is so much work to keep the mess under control. I don't know why but everytime I cook I seem to end up with tons of dishes even if I clean as I go... When it comes time to eat there are extra bowls cups and plates and serving utensils that just get pulled out of thin air and magically appear in the sink. Plus they always dump their dishes in the sink for me to wash. Even a slow cooker meal is too much work and I'm better off not making anything at all if I don't want to miss a hike. Was groggilly cleaning things up last night when I shouldn't have had to be and up too late.

B: 2 pieces of toast, coffee.

I really need to stop eating bread. I asked my dad to start keeping it in his room since I can't resist it. I was groggy this morning and it just ended up on my plate, without any protein with it which is worse.


  1. Make it to the hike tonight, no matter what.
  2. Stay on top of health insurance processing.
  3. Make all the produce I bought up for meal prep
  4. Pick up chicken and sausages for meal prep.
  5. Make progress on my case study.

5:12 pm shutting off computer and heading to the hike. I have no makeup or hairdo... oh well.

I do this too....on gym days i try not to do too many other things or really much else after work than the gym...it's hard to do several activities in advance of the gym and still have any energy leftover for the gym....so yes it's smart to plan accordingly.

it's def hard living with people who eat things you do not want to eat...always a trouble area of mine when i used to live with my parents.

Yeah, my mom's not so bad but my dad is impossible. He is completely anti vegetable and only eats iceberg lettuce when it is drowned in ranch dressing.

I kind of overbought the veggies this week... I am drowning in bags of kale and spinach I don't feel up to eating raw. Looking for recipes using them I can incorporate.

Day 7 of 42 of putting exercise first.

Weight: 244.4. I think it will go up a little bit since I just started hiking and exercise always makes me eat more at the beginning.

Screwed up my digital calendar and missed a deadline with the EDD. I had to reopen my claim. Not sure what that does to my elligibility for job retraining. I feel like such an idiot.

ADHD is insidious. It makes weird **** super important and you don't pay attention to what you really need to focus on. I think if I had OCD to go with it, I might actually get things done. I have been looking at my diary entries (Long-winded and boring, I know but they are helping). I don't actually stare off into space as much as I think I do (I think the meds help). I do pay too much attention to the wrong things. 

Stress. *sizzle*

At least my win for today was that last night I tried the Sleepinol 2 hours before I wanted to go to sleep according to Horn_of_Plenty's recommendation and it more or less worked. It makes you feel a little fuzzy so you give up trying to do "one more thing" and just go to bed. I was up at about 4:20am to go to the bathroom and thought I would go back to sleep, but didn't. I could have made the beach bootcamp I want to go to, but I cuddled my dog and looked at internet jokes for a couple of hours. I wanted to make the EDD phone call at 8am and not miss it.

My other win was that I found a period tracker that exports your cycle forecast as an ical feed so you can get it on your apple or google calendar as a feed you can subscribe to. I can now see what weekends I might not want to go to the beach the same place as where I plan my trips. I have this fear that a shark will come and eat me. I am not sure if this is a rational fear or not. http://strawberrypal.com/


8am: Called EDD. Reopened claim online.

Then slacked and brain dumped here for an hour.

9am Breakfast. Cottage cheese and the last of the fresh blueberries.

Bummed around reading diary entries.

Dog tried to sit in my lap while I was eating. Such a pest. My mom has given her the worst habits. AAAAAAARGH. Got up and fed her breakfast... normally she gets kibble in the morning and wet food at night. Gave her wet food this morning. I am going to turn this dog into a hat. So annoyed when she came back over, I tapped her nose when she shoved it over.

9:40am Called Aetna. Still not processed. AAAARGH. Apparently my employer needs to contact them. AAARGH. Sat on phone for 40 min.

Ordered bra and dog gate while on phone.

10:30 Realized I didn't run out to get gas this morning before it heated up. AAAAAARGH. But it was ok. Overcast day so not too hot. I filled up my tank.

S: Diet coke, egg mc muffin

Realized I forgot the key to the post office box. Doh!

Ran to the supermarket, and came home and got my big experiment into the crockpot... Philly cheese steaks!!!!

12:30 Responded to a recruiter call.

Realized I forgot to get cheese. Doh!

S: first taste of the philly cheese steak. OMG. OMG. OMG.

2pm: Assistant is MIA. No meeting. Made a wet burrito and topped it with salad.

Realized I didn't turn on the crockpot. Doh! Debating the  hike... it will be time to leave right when they are ready. If I leave it out, my parents will make a giant mess as soon as the cheese steaks are ready and it will be unrecoverable as food for the week. 

4pm: Assistant is alive. She has found me a post office box (they are hard to come by at an actual post office in LA), a better storage unit (I'm deathly afraid of the paranoid schizophrenic at mine but can't bear to turn him in for living there), and an attorney.

7:30pm parents are home and fed, and back in their rooms. My dad literally complained at me for an hour straight. How can one person complain so much?

At least they loved dinner. They want it once a week. Shockingly the entire contents of the slow cooker is gone. That was enough for a week. I told her to buy me the stuff and I'll make it. It was super fast and easy cleanup.

8:15 Took sleepinol

10:15 Not tired yet. 

At least I made some progress on the case study.

Dog is making me crazy... I have a rash on my leg and she keeps licking it to make it better. Then she sits with her paw right on my bruised foot. Then she flips her tail against my rash. Then she sticks her wet nose on my elbow while I type.

We had a foster child with ADD...when we fond something she was really interested in doing she stuck with it, maybe you don't really want to do everything on the list, maybe just making the list is what you want. one thing that works for me when I want to accomplish something is to set a timer for 15 minutes...I can do anything for 15 minutes....and sometimes when the timer goes off...I keep going...if not, I allow myself to stop for 15 minutes...then after that..i go at it again for 15 more...that really helps me get things done on days I'm not very motivated
