248.8 this morning... 2lbs down like magic which I don't know how it happened because this past week I was really bad diet, exercise, and motivation-wise... but it is a new year and the same me... but time to up my game.
Progress as of today: 61.2 lbs lost so far, only 66.8 lbs to go!
Bought a pre-cooked spiral ham on sale at Trader Joes for $4.99 a lb and brought it home. My mom flipped out and we fought for two hours. I was exhausted and must not have heard my alarm (I have to put in earplugs to get to sleep, then it takes a couple of snooze sessions on the alarm for me to actually wake up). I don't remember what happened, but somehow I slept till 9:30 and missed taking my morning dose of adhd meds. The email announcement that payroll was in came at &:30 so I I missed the first two hours of work this morning.
Something has to change. This is awful.

Feel better, when you take your meds regularly i think you will feel more relaxed?
You are ok!
Enjoying this new blog I found... http://www.organizeyourselfskinny.com/2014/12/30/the-1-thing-that-is-preventing-you-from-losing-weight/
Still have the day off due to no payroll at work. Tempted to go to Ikea and buy some glass lunch containers for meal prep. Healthier than plastic. But a) payroll is late. And b) I have homework. And c) i need to stop doing retail therapy for self soothing, even at the dollar tree.
OR, only buy one glass container and bring the food in plastic. and at work, transfer to glass to heat up.
i got so sick of carrying around heavy glass.

Hiiiii Happyyyy xoxoxox
If you wake up late, is it better to shower and blow dry your hair anyway knowing you will feel better all day and be more "with it" or do you skip the shower and blow dry to make up time, but feel lousy all day?
Working from home today. Planned to go toa user group meeting at 6 in the OC... but it is all the way out in Placentia and I don't know that I can pull that off. 57 min if I leave at lunch now. An hour or more if I leave this evening. The other location the group meets at is closer to the train and easier to get to. Augh. It would have been ok if I had gotten up at 5 and left at 5:30 I think.
If I go, I will feel more happy and connected the rest of the week.If I don't go I can keep working here and do homework after work. Decisions, decisions.

Ha totally missed that they gave us the day off to deal with stuff since they don't have funds for payroll. Guess I get to go to my user group meeting after all.

B - MP - coffee, half n half, oatmeal with raisins
What kind of user group meeting is it? for drugs or alcohol ? I do agree that being involved and doing productive things to give you a boost for a more productive week, oh yes. In fact, I may go to a free concert this weekend on Sunday at the library. It will feel great to listen to live, professional music (think baby-boomer pop and rock and stuff!) for free too! Turns out the Queens, NY library concerts, performances, exhibits & author presentations are really, really good! Like – just as good many times as a performance at Carnegie Hall! For free!
Enjoy your user group meeting….although still not sure what that is?
I was thinking that a user group has something to do with computers... not sure why I thought that, LOL.
Back on track after a fun but also rough weekend. Thanksgiving was awesome, went to two parties. Love my friends. Didn't take adderall on time which always screws with me. If adderall calms down the billion butterflies I have in my brain and makes them all fly in the same direction (albeit not always in the direction I need them to go), sleeping in post-party and taking it a few hours late makes them all kind of go in the same direction but it is a jittery back and forth progression to the destination. I sat down, shut up and did not check messages for several days, so did not see the bike chef this weekend.
Also started carpooling this morning. Hopefully I didn't scare her off.

Bike chef? I do not know what you mean???
I hope the carpooling works out lady! Also, I know what you mean by things not working exactly as well as they can in your brain or body...I've had a similar situation but i've learned to kind of shut my thinking off when things go astray.
Breakfast and snacks sound nice. Don't even tempt me with the pumpkin pie...i had a wonderfully rich and not too sweet piece at my parent's house for thanksgiving and that will be it for the season. I do not care for lots of sweets anymore because i have found good alternaties, i do eat smaller treats frequently like small granola bars and other snack bars so it's not like i do not eat sweet things, but the bigger pies and stuff i stay away from because i find it's still hard for me to control myself off just one piece. So in general, i stay away.
How was the meat sauce? made with tempeh or tofu? snack is great - i keep forgetting to hard boil my own eggs here at home - will probably do it later in this week or on the weekend. Depends when i run out of food here. I have soooo many leftovers!
and your dinner sounds nice too!
Keep up the good work.
I cheat and buy the boiled ones sometimes. Beats picking something up at Starbucks, price wise.
Woke up more or less on time and made sunday breakfast. I also did a mini meal prep and setup some eggs for breakfast for the week. I tried to make protein pancakes but made a mess instead. Hot strawberry compote turned out weird so I will try adding some apples for compote later.
And aaargh! I tried to make chicken pot pie soup, but I am out of onions. Have to run out to the store to exchange a bike rack anyway, but wanted to be done cooking for the day by lunch... not still cooking at dinner.
Cute chef I met for ramen off Tinder wed night texted. I liked him. He was way shorter than me but super company and likes to go for bike rides.

I hope you were able to get your onions. Good job on the eggs...i need to prep some too. They are sitting in the fridge - not sure WHAT i'm waiting for! I actually may grill some chicken sausage this morning...nah, waiting until tonight...
Volumetrics-style chicken pot pie soup actually turned out well. Basically, I steamed and pureed two heads of cauliflower, and set that aside. Then I used some healthy margarine to saute a gigantic pile of onions, celery and carrots, and poured in some chicken broth to soften and threw in some parsley, thyme, and pepper, boiled for 20 minutes. I added leftover parboiled red potatoes and chopped chicken breasts (from meal prep setup), and then poured in the cauliflower and threw in a 1/4 cup of mashed potato flakes. I didn't miss the heavy cream at all.
One day at a time...
Went and hung out with friends in oc today... Best thing I could have done for myself... Dad was in rare form tonight... I think my shrink is right and I need to avoid cooking nice dinners and trying to sit down to eat together as a family. It just creates more problems than it is worth. He was pretty cruel at dinner, then about midnight got me up out of bed looking for some blueberry fiber one bars I had in my earthquake supplies. I went to look and didn't see them. He accused me of deliberately screwing with him... Super nice... And food hoarding... Which is super weird because I just have normal pantry stuff and then 4 plastic bins of canned goods and stuff that is easy to make on a camp stove if we have an earthquake. It's about 4 days of food and water for 4 people and a dog... Nowhere near FEMA's 14 days... That would be like 2 paychecks. My parents had zero supplies so I stocked Up. I do have a lot of beans and spices in my normal pantry stuff, but I make a lot of indian food. They only sell that stuff in bulk. Like a bag of the right kind of cumin in the smallest size is 1 lb. Plus then I use more spices which have health benefits. I even make my own muscle rub and face masks now. My parents only buy prepared foods and I only buy bulk foods, so we end up with 2 pantries and a lot of conflict. I wish I could do staples like protein powder, dry milk, flour and salt in bulk like at a co-op because it is better quality and super cheap, but my parents would flip out.
B - jack in the box sandwich, iced tea L - trader joes pizza S - mac n cheese cup D - kombucha, tri tip, southwest pilaf, salad w blue cheese dressing. I gave my dog the leftover tri tip Because at least she loves me, lol S - quesedilla S - chai tea, chocolate biscotti

On a happier note I made small steps towards a kitchen garden today

258??? Not sure how I gained 12lbs in one weekend camping AND ate normal stuff AND had to use a smaller hole on my belt this morning. Must be water? Anyway... Back at work and had a lovely email that paychecks may not get cut tomorrow due to waiting for funds. Fingers crossed that we get paid.
-------
B - 2 protein shakes, 2 cheese sticks, baggie of apples, coffee/chai mix
L - lightened up mac n cheese, spinach salad with 2 eggs and 1 piece of bacon
Yes, maybe the food is really salty when camping? That can lead to water retention? Also time of month might do it also…or it could be cumulative weight gain over more than just this weekend but you weren’t weighing regularly is my guess? Weight can totally sneak up on us!
Lightened up mac and cheese sounds awesome. How do you lighten it? I would probably add cauliflower? or egg whites in it! I hope you do get paid tomorrow, what a royal pain if I had to experience that & pay rent! Omg… Stay well Happy.
We did not get paid today. We were given the day off. I get to do homework all day! My new UX book just came so good timing.
Another easy morning with my pre-made breakfast, packed lunch and set of clothes. Even managed to walk my dog in the morning BEFORE driving in to work for the SECOND TIME IN A ROW... and then I was at work ON TIME for the SECOND TIME IN A ROW.
And because all my food is packed, I can tell you what I am eating today in one entry.
Whammo!

I had a protein pancake (chocolate flavor!) for dinner! tasty. nice with my cooked cranberries :)
Chicken sausage is cool...so much lower in calories in know bc i have looked!!! tastes great too! nice on your Turkey stuffed pepper. way to go ... excellent prep. you can try to have a lot of sf jello or other low cal stuff instead of baklava to save you TONS of calories...and the peach compote maybe have a peach instead? less sugar i think? unless it's mostly natural in the compote...which is awesome too :)
all in all, nicely done. maybe the mac and cheese instead of mac, use cauliflower!

...I think Volumetrics is awesome!!! That's a lot of my own approach - low cal but filling volume for food!
i like your ideas and the peach compote recipe, nice.
I like cooked cranberries (i make in microwave and only add some stevia!) over a protein pancake too, but not too much, as the sweetness will become overbearing!

Still reeling from last week but at work like a grownup. Forgot to weigh myself this morning. Had the hardest time getting to sleep last night and just ended up eating tortilla chips to settle my stomach which was turning and churning. Now that I think about it, rice or bread would have been better.
Back is better. 3 days of "ow". Never pick up a 60lb shepherd mix to carry it outside to pee.
