Sigh--- contacted a few people on Craigslist and Offerup to see if they would donate their tables and canopies to the food bank if they are unable to sell them. Got a bunch of angry responses that I am welcome to buy them and donate them. I responded "I am sorry to hear about your cousin and his situation. I lost my job about a year ago. I've baked some brownies and cookies for the yard sale this weekend and maybe a few rounds of baked goods will raise enough money to buy a canopy if one cannot be donated." Then I got back from the guy that he'd lost his good job of 14 years and he's working as a sub with 2 year olds and changing diapers at 50.

I can't blame them. I get irate when people offer me $5 for something I've listed for $80... but if a church, mosque, temple, or other non-profit contacted me for something I'd listed online for a yard sale, why they wanted it, and the work they do in the community, I'd probably donate the item. Mazeltov.

If I didn't want to donate it, I'd probably just ignore it. I definitely wouldn't one up them with how miserable my life was.

I don't want to buy the canopy and tables myself because I am just getting started getting to know these people and I have no idea how they manage their resources. Do they not have tables for their yard sale because they sold them? I have no idea. I'll throw in like $50 on this, time to ask for donations, maybe a little gas money to pick items up, but not $500.

Oh well. Here's to lightening my soul so I lighten my ass. Being a better person so I like myself better and come across better in job interviews. I'm trying. My 2am attack of the lonelies is going to drive me up the wall.

A bowl of top ramen would probably knock me out, but Iam too full to eat.

It will all work out, maybe the volunteers have something they can bring from home to use....I remember our garage sale days...we came up with all kinds of solutions to the table problem....hope you get some donations.

horn_of_plenty on 01/30/2018:

Pulled the trigger on an Amazon order that had been sitting in my cart forever. A double camping pad to satisf my dog's incessant pushing to be on the same pad as me, a half slip to make it possible to wear a nice dress I bought months ago, a map to the Angeles front country, and some stevia orange-mango drink packets.

Had such a hard time packing food for that camping trip I didn't go on out of my pantry. I need to get a few odds and ends to make that easier.

bearcountrygg on 01/29/2018:
Gotta love Amazon...are you a Prime member? I just started the 30 day free trial a few days ago...but I don't think we will be going any further with it.

happy-1 on 01/29/2018:
I believe you may be better off with boxed.com for the majority of our dry goods.

horn_of_plenty on 01/29/2018:
let us know how the stevia packets taste!

and enjoy your purchases....i also go to amazon so often...it's so easy to get like anything & everything you could ever want!...so much easier than driving around store to store around my community could take hours to get all the interesting and helpful things i order!

happy-1 on 01/29/2018:
You and all the millenials... Did you know that Costco is struggling to attract millennial buyers? They don't go to stores because they don't want to drag their kids with them

horn_of_plenty on 01/29/2018:
yes, i could imagine what you are saying about costco....and, if not married, a lot of us don't want to shop bulk for just ourselves!

happy-1 on 01/29/2018:
Oh come on... with all that kombucha you must at least buy toilet paper in bulk.

W: 234.0, after a cup of coffee, wet hair, semi-dressed.

Up: 7, but so sore I didn't get moving till 9:20pm.

I think God rewarded me for volunteering at the food bank today. As my mom started harrassing me with her research into online dating today and why I am single (she says they must not feel like I really understand and connect with them, my response they don't feel like I connect with them becase I hate them), I was already breakfasted/coffeed, dressed with makeup, nail polish, and hair. Poof! I was out the door and on my way to starbucks. I didn't even accidentally let my dog out who was desperate to come with me.

Can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man.

S: 7:30 coffee, half n half,

B: 9:30 seltzer 3 eggs, olive oil, hot link, spinach. should have had 1/3 cup beans according to diet plan, but wasn't that on the ball yet.

S: 11:30 Coffee, half n half, brownie

L: skipped

S: skipped

D: 2 slices of pizza, seltzer

S: diet punch, chicken verde, rice, beans, cheese... first time freezing an f-d up recipe has ever worked out for me. That was delicious.

Donkey on 01/29/2018:
Good planning! I like it! Mmm, gingerbread - YUM... Did you do OK the rest of the day? (((hugs)))

happy-1 on 01/30/2018:
I did. I picked up an enormous hot black guy on Ok cupid and then got the number of the enormous hot black guy sitting behind me at Starbucks.

It's raining men! Hallelujah!

Volunteered at that food bank yesterday. They are a little disorganized but good people. They have a yard sale every saturday from their bags and bags of donated clothes that I helped with. They weren't purging what they couldn't sell at the end of the day so they were constantly pulling things out and stuffing them back in again and again and had a storage container that had clothes and food mixed in. I got them to bag things thet wouldn't sell so it can go to Savers for sale by the pound, and separate out their donations into mens/womens/baby. I'll go pick up some smaller tarps at the dollar store this week and go back next saturday to help them set up again. Hopefully it will boost their sales. They make about $200-400 a sale and it covers gas and other fees that they have for collecting and distributing food.

It was a really good workout. 3,500 calories, 15,207 steps, 7.1 miles.

I dunno if the church group will come help. so far I am not impressed.

Augh. Saw a mouse in the kitchen scurry under the floorboards. Have to put out traps.

Woke - 7, but I was in a lot of pain from yesterday so I went back to bed till 10. Spent the day picking up stuff in the living room and doing dishes. How do I keep making such a mess all the time?

10am - coffee

1pm 3 eggs, 2 cups spinach, 1 hot link

4:30pm, chicken, rice beans, cheese, stevia soda.

5:30 - yogurt, berries, paleo granola

9pm - chocolate frozen yogurt

Progress as of today: 74.6 lbs lost so far, only 53.4 lbs to go!

Donkey on 01/28/2018:
Sounds like a good time at the food bank! Thank you for helping :-) And you got in a great workout!

happy-1 on 01/28/2018:
Yeah I didn't see any potential buddies or dates there but I'll still go back next week and help their yard sale.

bearcountrygg on 01/29/2018:
Sounds like a good place to volunteer...I'm sure they appreciate all of your input and help.

happy-1 on 01/30/2018:
Meh, I might not be able to afford to volunteer there. Any changes to make them more effective will cost money. Like $20 this week for smaller tarps, bake sale supplies, and some trash bags.

3am. Can't sleep. All packed for camping. Food is kind of gross but it is in the bear barrel and ready to go. I however am not looking forward to the drive out. 2hrs to Palm Springs... and I need to be up early for that food bank thing.

And HUNGRY. Why do I crave top ramen in the middle of the night?

My dog is super freaked because I was packing. She's worried she will be left at home. Poor pup. She is coming with me though. Annoyed I haven't bought another foam mattress topper yet. Haven't found one with a cover that isn't cooling gel. I don't want cooling gel for camping!!!!!

They moved the camping trip and with no sleep i'm not going to be worth anything to drive.

3am snack - part of a buttered roll I shared with my dog

happy-1 on 01/27/2018:
Warm days, cool nights in LA. 30+ out there at night. They had to move the camping trip to pioneer town preserve b/c of flash flood warnings and will be camping in the parking lot of pioneer town. Not the trip I had in mind. All packed for the next one though. Wherever that may be.

bearcountrygg on 01/27/2018:
Bummer......Nah...camping in a parking lot is a bit different.....not quite the camping experience you wanted I'm sure.

Donkey on 01/27/2018:
Hopefully a proper camping trip can be rescheduled soon... I'm sorry it didn't work out :-/

happy-1 on 01/28/2018:
Thanks. I was bummed... but all packed for the next trip, lol.

A little flat today. Tomorrow I go scout out a food bank that runs out of someone's garage for a volunteer opportunity. Tuesday I go check out a methodist church that runs a food bank and a soup kitchen that could use help with kitchen deep cleaning for health codes so that their regular volunteers can get a leg up and do some donor work. Still no word from the church group organizers. Lame.

Got to an agreement with a guy off Fiverr to do two homepage variants with accompanying style tiles for formatting of elements for $80. See how it goes and if it works I will give him more revisions and more pages. $10 a page, $5 a revision. This works because I already did all the information architecture and photo asset organization.

Took parents to Hometown buffet as organized and planned. It is nice to do something nice for them.

------ Up: 9am. B: hotlink, 3 eggs, 2 paleo pancakes, syrup D: 4pm - hometown buffet. Spinach salad, 2 small pieces steak, bite plate of mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, cornbread dressing, gravy, inside of pumpkin pie. Bite plate of desserts S: 6:30pm another buffet plate, mexican this time.... an enchilada, taco meat, cheese, sour cream. S: up too late packing had cheese and crackers

Crap. 5am. I sat down to do a couple of things on pete's site before bed and completely forgot to go to bed. At least I got through the creative block and nailed down 2 key pages. I also floated a query to a guy on Fiverr in my time zone to see what he would charge me to polish up the pages. They look like I did them with my feet.

1:30pm. Have been up for an hour and a half. Actually woke up on time at 8am, but taking Vyvanse when tired had the "opposite" effect and I literally passed out. I feel pretty calm and focused though. No "Maderall" crankiness.

This video is dead on how I feel about cleaning up my parent's place.

B: 1pm oatmeal, raisins, walnuts, protein powder, margerine

S: 6:30 pm - lentil pasta, turkey bolognese, veggies, mozzarella, parmesan

L: 9pm snack fest... tried to do a little bit of different things... mix it up to eat less. Felt "snacky", 1 paleo hotlink, seaweed, hummus, gluten free pretzels, raw almonds, 1 power cookie

lately i see some key good things about being married...but still enjoy by independence...i doubt i'll ever get bored of being independent

happy-1 on 01/25/2018:
Yeah there's a lot of different kinds of web designers. I do product management and will do the black and white mockups of what should go on the page but I just don't have an eye for color and layout. It is something I can buy for like $5-10 an hour in the phillipines, bolivia etc. If I'm picking skills for a husband, I'll take any ex-military and good with cars combo I can get

horn_of_plenty on 01/26/2018:
he should pay you to work on his site.

happy-1 on 01/26/2018:
I am doing this to have a portfolio site and to put the pieces I have learned over time together as a cohesive picture of my skillset. He has content and traffic. I'd have to develop all the content and generate all the traffic. I don't get the feeling that he makes enough to pay for a site like this. A digital agency would charge $500k + maintenance fees and maybe deliver half of what he was promised to do what I am doing.

bearcountrygg on 01/26/2018:
You mean you aren't getting paid to work for Pete?????

happy-1 on 01/26/2018:
No. I haven't done this before. I've done parts around it but not the whole of it. I have no idea if I can actually do it. Plus it's not like I am delivering on a schedule.

Up on my feet, more or less. My poor old pup peed the bed this morning. No more letting her sleep in. 3x this month now.

Back on the healthy eating. Hope I feel better tomorrow and can go to bootcamp. At least I was up on time today.

Bummed because hot guy on dating site said "I'm not looking for anything serious but...". It's really too bad I can't actually punch someone through the computer. It's basically "I'm not looking for anything serious...  with you. Here, hold still." He was offended that I was offended. He was like... well not if you're not into it. I was like... why would any woman be into it after you say that? You've basically just said that you are just screwing them till you find someone you actually like. It sounds like the sex would be terrible anyway. Finally I was just like gotta go, ttyl. Augh.

AAAAAND... trying to go through the church group and help out. But they are like slow as molasses. Tried to do a conference call to get direction etc. AND NO ONE SHOWED.

Why? Because they picked a drop date of Feb 10. Working backwards from that date I realized they need to get marketing support from the church by eod Friday and donation buckets decorated by EOD tuesday to get through the publication cycle for next weekend's services.

....And they haven't caught on to all of the realities of needing to partner with another group and be covered with liability insurance. And that if you are going to show up at another church, you need to do a donation drive first... nothing huge but something.

....And that the church's community is mostly following online via Instagram/Snapchat (even though most attendees live within a 7 mile radius according to traffic stats) and showing up intermittently so you have to plan your social media posts and trail to get people to make donations either online or in person at the church.

PLUS... the group is all chicks. The discussion is inane. They could totally use this opportunity to market a new 40+ christian singles group and pull in new blood.

I think this is why I don't go to church.

I have $100 that says the teen lifegroup will get something stupid to trend on Snapchat or Whatsapp that they spent 2 seconds on and our group will look lame.

BUT... Today I got a call from Molly and she is feeling better. She is trying occupational therapy to help with her RA.

I have $100 that says they tell her to try a Fitbit to help with her f-ing circulation.

For no apparent reason my parents continued their recent streak of behaving like semi-normal human beings by bringing home 3 fish tacos for me. They are nowhere near healthy... fried, tortillas, cream sauce... and blew my calorie plan for the day...

And I love my dog. She is the best.

Up: 7am

S: coffee, half n half, a scoop of chai mix (85 cal + 40 cal)

B: oatmeal with protein powder, seeds, dried apples (350 cal)

S: orange (90 cal)

L: 3 fish tacos (1,113 calories)

S: brownie at starbucks (380 cal)

D: 1 cauliflower pizza (760 cal) + 15 pepperoni (140 cal) + sprinkle of parm (100 cal)

Total: 3,058... OMFG. No wonder I am fat. Got to get back on the horse and the 7-8 cups of vegetables a day
