What are cake pop is it a reasonable treat? I am always looking for something that I can do that will not side track me back to my unhealthy eating. Have a great day.

happy-1 on 07/10/2016:
They have them at Starbucks... The chocolate ones are pretty much my favorite treat. They aren't enough calories to throw me off track, are satisfying enough to stop me from looking for more food, and cheap.

That they stop me for looking for more is really the key for me.

B - Skipped. Mistake. Talked myself out of starting the habit of ordering my favorite coffee drinks on the Starbucks mobile app which would be a black hole for my paycheck. But did not get coffee. Also a mistake.

S1 - 2 string cheeses, breakfast sandwich in cooler that was somehow unchanged by leaving it in there a couple of weeks unfrozen. I really, really need to stop buying those.

L - Plain seltzer, chicken deli sandwich from remnants of stash in work fridge. Happy day, I had stuck a homemade camping MRE in there with... a caffeine shot! Grape, and dollar store generic not a 5 hour energy, but pretty good.

S2 - Handful of choc graham crackers

D - Chicken from rotisserie chicken. 5 peanut butter cups. A couple of bites of hummus. Water

S3 - Kombucha

Augh. Only got 3 hours of sleep last night. Trying to get to bed early but wide awake and useless. So tired.

---

In addition, today was the kind of day that makes me want to take up drinking. Ugh. Today was T's run to doctor in Orange County that I cover dinner for once a month. This month I planned to pick up chicken and deli stuff at Costco since I have so much homework. Got a text message at 4... can I be at the hospital at 5 and bring her sister. I of course think someone is dying and run out of work with my hair on fire.

I had completely spaced that the hospital her sister works at is next to Costco that I had already said I was going to at 5... and had said if they need anything to let me know before 5. Her sister was chilling at the Costco food court instead of the hospital just to make it that much easier on me. Aparently they had car trouble and were passing the hospital and swapped cars with her.

And this my children is the moral of the story... If you just really really want a cup of coffee in the morning so badly your eyeballs are peeling... just get the coffee and don't stress about the $4.

Progress as of today: 60.8 lbs lost so far, only 67.2 lbs to go!

puddles on 06/29/2016:
Yes I agree always get one coffee in before doing anything. Life is much better after coffee time.

OhioRaven on 06/29/2016:
Make mine a Large McDonald's with stevia.

happy-1 on 06/29/2016:
Really? McDonald's... so you love the taste of turpentine?

innerpeace on 06/29/2016:
Times like these I'm glad I don't drink coffee. Hope your day gets better.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 06/30/2016:
I agree with you about the coffee. I also have enough $$$ flow to be able to pretty much buy whatever food / drinks I want to and not regret it.

Food / drinks are NOT negotiable to me & i do not really "budget" food lol. If i did, I'd probably be able to save 50% of the cash I spend weekly on groceries LOL. I even buy premade jello, which, when not on sale, is DOUBLE the price of jello sold in the powdered form (not premade). And sometimes, premade jello is actually even 3-4x the price of powdered jello! I PAY for the convenience and cannot even regret it, at all, right now. However, i do see myself starting to make my own jello down the road, even adding cooked cranberries to it :-)

yes, don't fall for the starbucks app...btw, not sure if you have regular delis by your work - but by me, the neighborhood delis still charge only like $1 or $1.50 for a coffee, not $2 like Dunkin Donuts or $2.50-$3 for a cup like Starbucks. Maybe you can go to the delis for your coffee instead of starbucks???

do you get a huge high after the 5hr energy? is it all at once energy and then a crash? i forget what those are like - I used to take them a LONG time ago...when i was around 28-30yrs old (now i'm turning 34) at work when i TRULY never ever got enough sleep.

B - Skipped. No food at parents house and couldn't think of anything low carb to eat. Mistake.

S1 - Finally found an old frozen burrito while I was filling the swamp cooler with ice. Food!

L - Venti Iced coffee, Ham and cheese sandwich.

I'm 38 and in my first relationship... I always thought that when I finally had somone there would be a "best friend" aspect where we were constantly talking and spending all our time together... Instead I have hardly heard from him the last 3 weeks and there was all the weirdness last weekend. I emailed him last night and he said to come over. I don't know that it would have made me feel closer to him.

---

Weight is back on downward trend. Only 1/2 pound up from current lowest point.

---

Swamp cooler is a disappointment. I think I need rubber gaskets and a stronger fan. And more ice. Maybe a PVC pipe instead of an RV hose. Left it at home for my dad but will take it on future camping trips. He can cool himself down while I work on clearing space for a real cooling unit. They need 3 feet of space on all sides and my parents don't have that right now.

---

At Starbucks doing homework before going down to the campsite. They will be mad, but I will live.

yep, life is weird i tell ya. When i was in college, i thought i had my whole life figured out. that it would be smooth sailing especially in terms of work for the rest of my life (i thought i'd be a teacher from the day i graduated college...lol....nope!)...things are so up in the air.

nothing is certain. I feel ya, Happy.

B - 9:30AM Peanut butter cups and coffee. Hormonal.

S1 - snap peas, kombucha sips

L - Skipped (bad bad)

S2 - 2:20 pm - protein burrio, sauce, 2 cheese slices, 2 eggs

D - Cajun chicken alfredo pasta from trader joes with a bag of peppers chopped up and thrown in with in and micrwaved. Not awful. Coconut water.

S3 - Skipped, which was a mistake. too hungry to do homework and at parents house and can't eat.

Successfully gave up midnight snacks last night, but it took it's toll. I didn't get to bed till 3AM. But it will pay off eventually. Just gotta retrain my body. That's what I am adding to this next 6 week push. Tiny behavorial habit changes that stick are what I am after.  We are all the sum of our habits.

--

Supposed to go primitive camping this weekend, but I have cramps and can't drive till all that goes away. It is distracted driving... about on the level of texting while driving.

---

Miss my guy. I feel like it was good that I left last Saturday... me sticking it out when he is being a butt is what led to all the drama and bad behavior... Basically because he was deploying/deployed I would just suck it up and keep the evening going which rewarded bad behavior, but I miss the time I didn't get to spend with him.

Also the showing of the movie we wanted to see is cancelled and the nearest one is sold out.  http://www.range15.com/

---

Drove home and got a shocker... My parents actually kept the house clean this week... I for once did not come home to 5 hours of chores. They even did their own laundry and took out the trash.

Mom has lost 18 lbs, Dad has lost 38lbs.

WOW!!!!!

---

Their good behavior lasted till 1:30 Am with a squabble over Mom's vision board... Sigh

Horn_of_plenty on 06/25/2016:
sounds like all is good in your world and your parents are behaving too! a clean house is always nice!

Yes, it's about retraining yourself. I was in a really bad habit during last early fall of eating in the middle of the night. worst habit ever, yes! i have also since stopped it.
