Weather was a little chillier. Went to Dry Cleaner, then to Rite-Aid. then to Donut Connection for a croissant. Then Chinese take out for a quart of chow-fun. Brought it home and only had about a third of it. I dont know if its discipline or loss of apetite. I try to stop eating when I feel comfortable.

Hi there Herb! When I popped in here yesterday for the first time in a very long time, I was so glad to see you here as well as a few other wonderful people I remember! So how have you been? Obviously you are doing awesome with your weight loss! That's so terrific! It sounds like you still enjoy getting out which is great. Keeping busy and active is the key to health as long as we don't keep ourselves too busy. That can stress us out way to fast!

I just wanted to pop in and say how happy I am to see you because you were always one of my favorite people in here. I just love your entries and I can almost here your voice when I read it, even though I have never heard your voice. I sense a great deal in people and by most I am considered quite phsycic(spelling)heehee and I feel very strongly that you are a kind soul. And also that you are an old soul. Nooo I don't mean your age either!! I mean you have experienced life before in another time and place many times over. I know that sounds silly especially coming from me. I am a Christian and have been very strong in my faith and of course the bible discounts anything to do with reincarnation and psychic's but I have seen to much to ignore it. So anyway, in 10 words or less.. I like you man! Hehehe! Ok gotta run. Hugs! ~~Windsong~~

Another beautiful day today, my apartment was so warm I left the door to the hallway open. A short while thereafter I heard a knock on my door, and it was Anne-Marie. She's back from her 2 weeks in Florida, and looking terrific. She stayed on her food plan, and did her walking. We must've stood in the hall for an hour chewing the fat. Finally got out of the house, and managed to get to the Post Office just before 5. Got my bills into the mailbox. Here's a queer story. I hadn't paid my Master Card since November, and they made a few calls to ask for their money. So I started to write a check last night, but I wanted to check my account on the Internet, You know what, they locked me out. So where is the sense in that. I want to check my account so I can settle my account, and they deny me that information. So I took their word for the total, and mailed it. Dont start with the statements. First of all I cant find them all, and secondly I have a difficult time in understanding them.

From the P.O. I went across the river, and I could see the ice breaking up, big chunks breaking off, and floating alone. Got to Wendy's, and had a Double Hamburger, and it was great. I can't tell you the last time I had a piece of beef. From there I went to the Ham Club meeting. Apparently there was a screw-up, because the little kids were having their Saint Patrick's party. and we had to wait for them to disperse. Tonight the club had an auction which gives the guys an opportunity to bid on each others junk.

On the way home I stopped at Bonfare for a bag of Potato Chips rhe greasy ones, and a half-pound of ham, then it was homeward bound.

How come you haven't eaten Beef in awhile ,,,anyway,,glad you enjoyed the burger,,nothing like a great hambuger:} Well your sounding like things are going good with you,and always like hearing your getting out and about:}

Golightly on 03/18/2003:
Hi Herb! I agree about credit card statement ... very frustrating. I'm rather impressed you can pay off the entire balance ... I would be so happy if I could do that! Frankly, there are months when I can only make the minimum payment.

I love Wendy's. I especially love that you can get a baked potatoe instead of fries. Yum!

Take care, Golightly

SoccerMom on 03/18/2003:
Don't you just love this nicer weather?? Makes me feel like working outside more often...and my yard would thank me, too! I noticed today that the grass is growing, and will probably need to be mowed before long. Maybe spring really is here?

Have a nice evening...and eat something better for you than those greasy potato chips. ~grin~

Temperature finally made it to 60 today. Ron called me up at noon, and we made plans that I would drive to his home, and from there we'd take his car to Palenville, and have brunch at this Waffle shop that he found on the Ulster/Greene county border. He had strawberry waffle with whipped cream and powdered sugar, and I had 2 eggs over with home fries & toast.

From there we visited this German community called Round Top. We went there in fact looking for Hartmann's Kaffeehaus where they make stollen. No luck, so came back to Coxsackie thru Leed's. We explored some short cut that Ronnie was interested in. We found it alright, it's a terrible back road full of holes, hills, and curves, and at one point goes through a portal cut through a hill taking you under the Thruway.

Got back to Coxsackie and stopped at the Donut Connection. I admit I had a donut with my coffee. The owner was there with his family having Chinese takeout. After that we were going to have Ron's car washed but it was too crowded. Went back to his house where I got my car. Didn't feel like coming straight home so I stopped at The Old World Bagelry to get some time in on their computer, but it was now 6 o'clock, and they were closing up for the day.

Came home, and started to watch a DVD on economics titled Commanding Heights.

JOURNAL Quiet day today. Ron called, and wanted to hang out, but as usual I was trying to get my act together. Got out of the house at 5, and went to the bank, and the drug store. On my way back got a donught at Russ's place, fresh out of the oven. Figured I'd get dinner at Marco's. Forget it, I couldn't find a spot in the parking lot. Didn't want Chinese or Italian so I got a Turkey & Swiss on rye ay Bonfare and brought it home. Hope to catch up with Ron tomorrow. This sandwich is delicious.

JOURNAL It snowed today, all afternoon. So the Camera Club was a "no-go." Talked to Ronnie this afternoon. I've got to take him to the hospital on the 25th for Phase III of the "Great Kidney Stone" operation. This Doctor must have big boat payments. Had a nice long conversation with sister Joyce. She seems to be muddling through like all of us.

JOURNAL Feeling a little better today. Took a nice hot shower in the afternoon, normally I shower before I go to bed. Got to Weight Watchera at 5, and weighed in gained 4 tenths of a pound. Saw my landlady standing at the back door of the church talking to someone. I asked her if Anne-Marie was back from Florida because I didn't see her car. She told me she's back.

After WW I headed over to the Old Country Bagelry for some Internet time, and a toasted Bagel.

JOURNAL

I spent most of the day in bed, finally got up at around 6 and went over to the Donut Connection for a Buttered Roll. Then up to CVS in Ravena for a bag full of prescriptions. This bag has Prozac in it, we'll see what this gets me.

On the way back I went to Marco's for Scrambled Eggs, Home Fries, and Toast.

Hi Herb...Just wanted to stop in and see how you are doing. I took Prozac myself and then stopped taking it. I am not much into meds myself. I hope it helps you out. It looks like you are doing well on the food area. How is WW going? I went and this week, but not last week. I was shocked I lost a little. Well you take care of yourself. You are in my thoughts often. Hugs! Your friend...Beth :)

Met Ronnie at Marco's and we took separate cars to the reception at the Greenville Library. I gave Marco's a $10 bill, and he made me 3 sandwiches which he cut into quarters, and I brought to the library for the guests. It's strange that in all our shows we never have guests, it's just us members. Bob Near was there with his wife/girld friend a real beauty. Looks like a model, but before I could get my jacket off and wander around they were heading out the door. Well I stayed there till 4:30 then left, and headed to Catskill via Routes 32, and 23. When I got into town I filled up the tank, Thirty Dollars, Yeow. Then to Price Chopper to buy a few items, then I was on my way home.

JOURNAL
Got my stuff together at around noon. Ron called, and I was ready for him when he got here. I asked him if he wanted me to drive, and the answer was no. I might be wrong, and this is just a guess, perhaps he realized that he's got a finite time behind the wheel, and wants to get all his driving time in. I suggested that we have breakfast at the Roadside Caf*, and he was up for it. We sat at the counter, and I noticed that the word Manhattan was spelled with a 'e.' I asked our waitress who wrote up the menu, and I mentioned the error which is very common, because I have spelling problems, and I've always got my nose in a dictionary. Well I don't think she liked my telling her. I just kept apologizing but I dont think it did much good.

We left there and continued our way to Rensselaer Honda on Hoosick Road. Found it with no problem, and drove up to the front door. Right there in the middle of the floor was an Element all in black complete including the cabana tent attached to the back. Every time I look at it becomes better looking. I asked for the salesman that I spoke to yesterday, and a young good looking guy who was also well dressed with a nice shirt, and tie came out from the back. He introduced himself, and we started talking, this guy knew his car. Last night while I had him on the phone he assured me in a joking manner that he was a expert on the Element, and it turned out he was a expert on this car.
