Hello everyone. Sorry for the long absence. I have been very busy this week at work and at home. Not as good a week as last week for exercvise, but pretty good. Have had some form of exercise 3 of the 5 days this week. Have a small "setback" due to my TOM right now. I seem to be running at about 64 days now - geez! Don't feel really bad, either - just tired. Have probably lost a lb this week, but can't tell it for sure.

I worked extra hours during the week this week so I am going home early today as soon as get a few more things done.

Holding my own on weight. Tried clothes on this week and still same sizes - Med and Lg or 10s and 12s. Just need to drop about 8 lbs and take care of business.

Hope you are all doing great. I am looking forward to catching up with your posts.

Progress as of today: 9 lbs lost so far, only 13 lbs to go!

Greetings everyone! Well, I am not controlling the eating totally, BUT I am exercising. I have been working out quite a lot, actually. Tonight I am planning a bike ride - on the trails - AND a walk.

I will begin keeping the food diary very soon, too.

I know if I keep at it - I will get/stay back on track. I am not going to have a defeatist attitude. I would hate that.

I'll chcck on everyone's dairy soon....

God Bless - Holly

Thanks for the comments and checking on me, everyone! I have been busy - eating whatever I want, BUT....I have also been exercising A LOT!

I hope I can just hold my own for the holiday weekend. I think I have. I will get back on the weight loss goal tomorrrow. I am just looking at it as how life goes sometimes - now is not the time to diet. But it is the time to exercise. So I'm happy with that.

Will check in on your all later......for now God Bless and see you soon!

Hiya Holly, nothing exciting happening here, the weather looks a little dull.We have had alot of rain lately and where i take Alfie ends up like a lake.He loves it but there are large puddles of dirty muddy water. The beach is a no-no this time of year,i like to take him to places that are fairly secure when he is off his lead. The work on the house has come to a stand still mainly due to money.I have paid dad off for the last jobs now the money pot has to be filled again!!It's mainly making the floor level and laying laminate.I'ts alot easier having the laminate with having Alfie,so it's worth waiting and getting the floor done the way you want it than regretting it later on,but hopefully dad not getting a job in the meantime. As for the healthy eating well what do you think, although i have started off this morning with brown toast with pate and coleslaw,so that's a good sign.I need to go into town later so i will walk 20mins each way.You know my track record, but i really need to stick to a plan of some sorts as my joints are starting to ache, its no good so hopefully today is going to be a gooden' as we say here!!You seem to be doing an excellent job keep it up girl its all about feelin good aswell as seeing the numbers go down, take care Julie

Total 1300 Calories Total 30 Minutes ET and Weights

Didn't get up in time to do the ET this morning and I notice that I don't feel nearly as energized or positive as I did yesterday. I will do the ET before the end of the day and husband and I will walk dogs tonight. Weather is good. 86 predicted for high - that is low for early July around here and it makes me happy!

There were lots of good posts on here yesterday - really deep stuff. Lots of things to think about - get ready to be success with the weight loss, etc. Do you need to "prepare for success? Don't you just accept it when it comes? Some surprising answers were posted. What are your thoughts?

God Bless.....

Re: Graham Crackers & Milk ~ Thanks...I figured that the walk and sweating probably did contribute to the "hunger" (or I shall believe it was hunger and not condonement for thinking it was owed me for that walk/sweating)...I could of made a better choice though...I will make sure to be more "alert" in my tiredness from here on out in the choices of foods when I feel like I did last night... I am aching to get to that <200 mark....In time!

glycrina on 07/01/2008:
I think you have to prepare for everything . . . it should be a lot easier to prepare for the "good" things but sometimes it's not (just think about crazy it gets before a wedding!). If you do weight loss the right way (read the slow way LOL) then your body is able to balance and you have to work with your thoughts the same way. I have a friend who lost 20 pounds and dumped her girlfriend and went a little crazy; I think she wasn't prepared to see herself as attractive. It all goes back to what we have all said, if you have emotional problems when you are overweight, you will most likely have them when you lose the weight too UNLESS you have dealt with them as part of the process. I love to read Rlovell entries because although she is at my ideal weight, she is honest enough about her problems . . . it keeps me grounded and I am able to remember that being healthy is a life long process whether I lose the weight or not. Ok, that's enough from me, huh!!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 07/01/2008:
YUM squash casserole! I'm missing my veggies terribly - haven't had enough in the past few days!

sweetpea1977 on 07/01/2008:
Yummy foods!

For me, I dont think I prepare for success when it comes to weightloss. It just happens when Im ready for it to happen. However, there are things I have to do now (in order to succeed) that I didnt have to worry about on my first weightloss journey. This time, I have time constraints and less money, thanks to being a stay at home first time mommy to a very active little boy. In order to take care of myself, I have to rely on family to watch over the baby. This means I have to work with both my family's schedule and my schedule in order to achieve my goals. Thankfully, they have been very supportive of me and are more than willing to help me out!

Jen40 on 07/01/2008:
For me, I never really think of preparing for success. Every time I see the number go down I'm stunned stupid. Honestly, I can't figure out what is making this happen. I mean, I'm not starving or exercising like I used to (obsessively)but something I'm doing IS working. I'll take it when it comes and ask questions later, lol.

Well last week was busy - but I did better on food - sort of.......I am beginning AGAIN today and I have done very well with exercise this weekend and even this MORNING!!! I walked twice this weekend. On Saturday - I did Zumba class. Then, later, even though it was late and I was so tired it seemed like my limbs were weighted down I walked for an hour. Then Sunday I walked for over an hour - felt better and today - this morning I did 15 minutes on Eliptical Trainer and a bit of weight training for shoulders and back. My shoulder is better and I think if I use the weights it will stay that way and improve even more. I plan to do 15 more min on ET later today.

Food - ate too much, but planning better today and will give it a go this week. I already feel better. Thanks - EVERYONE - for your comments on my diary. I know I'm not on here daily - but will try to post at least every other day - complete with menus - and check you diaries out, too. God Bless. Holly

Hello all. Just stopping in to say hello really. Not doing well on eating. That will stop TODAY. Seriously - this is IT. I'm done with excuses. Since the house damage we have eaten out ALOT! My stomach is not doing well with that which seems to trigger more eating for some reason!

The reconstruction on the house has started, but just barely. It's all so confusing when it comes to getting the right materials to re-do the bathroom. I think we are gettng close. The hard part is staying within budget! LOL! And making sure it all matches, is not too dark (I tend to like dramatic colors) or too bland. I think it will be great when it's finished, though. Looking forward to the tile design.

I plan to drop in on your diaries today and see how you are all doing - I sure hope you can provide some inspiration since I need it so much! God Bless you day! Holly

Well, Holly!... Best get back at it sooner than later..Hard to do, I know...It is worth the extra effort though my friend...You will find yourself feeling like you are in a dream (not a nightmare) when you get back on track...Praying that you can find the strength needed to make the 10 pound and beyond mark...

As far as the house things go...Prayers & thoughts are with you in making the right decisions to allow you to remain on or below budget....

Take care and have fun with the bathroom! ((hug))

Horn_Of_Plenty on 06/26/2008:
i'm sure the renovations/redecorating may have lead to some of your dismay with food lately. hmm, make sure to focus on you - and not just your house!

sweetpea1977 on 06/27/2008:
I agree with HOP, please take some time to focus on you, even if its only for 15 minutes at a time. Dont do like me and give up completely. Because of my lack of commitment, I turned an 18 pound weightloss goal into a goal of 40 pounds! I was so close to goal but made so much more work for myself!! It took me a while, but I finally got over my fear of failing and did something about it because Im so sick of being this way! So, come on, lets get this show on the road Holly! :o)

Thanks all for your comments. Things are on hold with the house, but that's OK for now. We can live in it now - at least. Not anything like as bad as for the folks we hear about in the news who have been flooded, blown or burned out of their homes!

Eating is OK. not over eating but probably food choices aren't really good right now. Going ot dinner for birthday of a friend tonight. Will keep it reasonable, I hope.

More soon......

Oh Holly, I'm so sorry to hear about the house, but thank the Lord that you are all safe. You seem remarkably upbeat, considering what has happened, but as you say, many people are worse off. I hope you will get everything sorted out soon. Good luck with that !!

maria777 on 06/23/2008:
Are you okay?

sweetpea1977 on 06/25/2008:

PS. Awhile ago, you had asked about my sis. She is doing remarkably well now, which Im very thankful for. I think becoming an aunt has been a lifechanging moment for her and made her realize what is truly important in life. She adores my son and begs to babysit for me all the time. So, Im finally taking her up on her offer so I can take better care of myself!

It has been quite a while since I was on here - good reason, too. Last Monday night a very large tree (60-70') fell on our house during a storm. We had 60 mph winds-no tornados. No one was hurt! Really, if it had to fall, it picked the best place on the back of the house to do so. The master bathroom. The other choice would have been Rachel's room! It was very exciting getting the tree off the house! Needless to say it has been a mess at our house with us having to leave for 3 days and stay in Comfort Suites Hotel. Have been eating most EVERY meal out - trying to eat healthily, butit's been hard. Have had to move bathroom to basement so am getting lots of exercise walking up and down two flights of stairs everytime I want something....All in all it's not so bad. Reconstructions has not started yet, but when all is said and done we will get an all new master bath, kitchel ceiling and lots of paint and "sprucing up". Have talked husband into new carpeting over all!

Hope you all are doing well. I will check in on your diaries. Not sure how much time I'll have to come on for awhile. God Bless everyone! Your Diet Diary Pal, Holly

So good to hear no one was hurt. We have had such bad weather and actually had a large branch hang on our power wires. Luckily someone came out to remove them before they pulled the wires from the house. Have a great day!

maria777 on 06/17/2008:
So thankful you are okay! We have missed you here at DD! You know last year a large tree limb fell on my vehicle a few minutes after I'd parked and got out and took out the windshield and did a lot of other damage, over $4000 worth...I was standing a few feet away when it fell! Then last nite a tree limb fell on top of our house and I thought it was going to come through the bedroom ceiling (Hubby slept through it) but it didn't, thank the Lord.

Anyway, I am glad you are SAFE! Take care and hope you'll soon have everything nice and be back in your home again!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 06/17/2008:
I'm SO sorry about the damage to your house. interestingly, i know a few people here who have also had recent damage to their homes! Boy is it expensive to clean up.

are you sure you want carpeting!? lol. i am not a fan of it! I'd rather have either tiles or wood flooring depending on the room. My bedroom CONSTANTLY needs to be vaccuumed. really, i almost should do it everyday but i wait for days on end and get so grossed out by it. of all things, when i put on deoderant, it gets all in the carpet! yuck! and rocks from my shoes - i don't like leaving them by the door! having tile/wood makes cleanup a breeze! however, to each their own! :)
