(Healthy Eating and Exercise)
Weight: 164.4

Finished yesterday with about 1220 calories but dinner did not include any fruits of vegetables and no exercise, except some vaccuming and I did 10 minutes of kettle bell.  I did very good on vegetables at lunch, though.  Wasn't really hungry in the evening.

I am happy to report that after two weeks of eating right and barely exercising I can tell a difference in my lower belly!   Yes, it is beginning to melt!  Much more comfortable in pants and tighter skirts!  I like this feeling.  Less "insulation" around the middle!  Yay!  I won't weigh for a while.  Those of you who have been on this site for awhile KNOW I hate that and to me it just isn't necessary if I know I'm doing the right/healthy things.......

This weekend I am going to go for more exercise.  I don't understand myself because I love to exercise.  I know even though I will use more energy it will give me more energy.  Our weather is supposed to be a little warmer, although still 15-20 degrees below average.  Dang - where is Spring.  At least we have had sunshine this week.

Also I have been doing better with water - drinking about 48 oz a day - that is good for me.  Does not include coffee, tea etc.  Just water.  I have given up diet cokes almost completely. 1-2 per week.  A big deal for me.  I have one with mexican food or pizza!  And I dont hae those foods often.  Last soda I had was last Friday.

B:  Smoothie with the usual PLUS Brown Rice Protein Powder - I like finally found a protein powder I like!  Yay!  1/2 C coffee  350?

L  Grilled salmon sm portion, rice and green beans, water 450

S:  granola bar and 1/2 oz cheese  250

D:  1 piece of pepperoni pizza 300?

I think I may have left a bite or two of something in the refrig for been a little low on my counts so I'll say 1400 -1450

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

Umpqua on 03/22/2013:

A difference in the belly is GREAT!!!!! I hear you, spring is alluding us in upstate NY as well!!! 1-2 diet cokes per week is GREAT!!! I too am trying to cut WAAAAAAY down on my diet soda consumption.... Have a great day:)

hollybelle on 03/22/2013:
Amazingly cutting back on the diet drinks has not been that hard for me. I am liking water more and more and it's something I never thought I'd get used to!

legcramps on 03/22/2013:
Nice to see such a difference!!! Great job :)

Puddles on 03/22/2013:

hollybelle on 03/21/2013:
Just keep tip-toeing!

Nom nom, cranberry flax seed bread sounds great!

Yumm does your lunch sound deelish! RYC that is wonderful news that Rach is feeling better :) I see that she already di her last name change on all of her fb pages..Do you miss having her at home?(probably NOT huh, LOL) I hope she is close by you guys <3

hollybelle on 03/22/2013:
Lunh was so good. We do miss Rachel a lot. We don't really miss her dog so much, though. SMILE..... I think we are going to try to do dinner with them at our house on Tuesdays because Rach doesn't work that night. They go to their bible study group at 8:00 on Tuesdays and it would be nice to get togther with them on Tuesdays. They live about 7 miles from us, although it's in another town. We are on the border of our town and they are just inside the next so it's good they aren't too far away.

(Healthy Eating and Exercise)
Weight: 164.4

Yesterday was OK.  I made the mistake of thinking it would be nice to have candied pecans for our salads like the lightly candied pecans I had on the salad I ate Sunday night.  So I got a recipe and made some.  But I wound up eating most of them 2/3 C!  before dinner.  The recipe was simply melted/carmelized sugar and pecansI  So....lesson learned = this is evidently something I cannot control myself around so I will not be making anymore.  I still wound up the day OK on calories - around 1600.

Better day today!  More later.......

B:  1/2 C coffee and smoothie - 350

I have lunch planned and brought with me to work, but I have to go out to pick up a book for a test I want to take in a few weeks.  So I plan to eat 1/2 the lunch before and 1/2 after.  I also have to go to Moms and pick up her car to put gas in it.  :-)  Fun......she doesn't pump her own gas.  She says she will try it when the weather gets better.

Also - I looked in the mirror this morning - something I rarely do (at least from the neck down) and I can tell I have less bloating in the belly region!  Yay!

L:  Totally did not stick with the plan, BUT, it's all OK because I had a healthy lunch and really enjoyed it.  On the spur of the moment on my way to pick up the study guide and book  I saw our KY equilvalent of a "food cart" - a food shack.  Up on N Broadway was "Maria's" Mexican......it had been a wonderful BBQ place in the past and had closed. I had many memories of streetside BBQ meals eaten in my auto at lunch or dinner from time to time.  Maria's did not disappoint.  I had two babacoa soft tacos.  They were superb!  No muss no fuss - beef on small homemade soft tortillas with cilantro only (onions was an option, but I declined).  So lunch was a serving of strawberries and blueberries and those two tacos babacoa.  Very healthy and delicious  400 calories!

Pre-Church Snack - 1 oz cheese and grandola bar.  250

D:  Not very hungry few bites of grilled chicken and corn 100?

S:  Another granola bar and an orange 200?

1300 Calorie day - lowest in quite awhile.  I can do it!

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

Supercheese on 03/20/2013:
lol ohhhh that happens with me and most peanuts. just cant have one! same thing with hershey kisses and reeses and most snack foods lol. but it sounds so good!

hollybelle on 03/20/2013:
Yeah, there are just some things I cannot be around. At least I actually have to go to the trouble of MAKING these.....but they only take 10 minutes!!! Yikes! Drop that thought - LOL

Puddles on 03/20/2013:
I guess one more thing to add to your no no list. I usually know before I do it that it is a no no but that never seems to stop me. I always have to learn the hard way. Have a great day it is a new day.

hollybelle on 03/20/2013:
Yeah, just another trigger food. At least they were homemade and partially healthy - the nut part. And I kind of made myself sick on them - so won't want them for awhile.

Umpqua on 03/20/2013:
Oh man, those sound delicious and I'm sure I would have devoured them too. I had to stop myself from devouring the buffalo chickpeas I made, they were so good. Great work on your calories!

hollybelle on 03/20/2013:
Buffalo chickpeas - sounds good. I better not look that one up! Thank you - I was pretty proud that I did OK on calories anyway.....

getmebackto150 on 03/20/2013:
Mmmm... I don't think I could control myself around candied pecans either... They are probably a food best eaten "out" to avoid the danger:) Good job keeping your calories under control despite the blip... Have a great day:)

hollybelle on 03/20/2013:
Yes, I was happy to have kept the calories within reason, anyway! Thanks.

grannyannie on 03/20/2013:
1600 is good. I'm like you with any kinds of nuts of seeds. Very hard to ration them.

hollybelle on 03/20/2013:
Yes, some things we just mustn't have around!

legcramps on 03/20/2013:
Great job with your calories, you still did really well even with the candied pecans. And I would have ended up eating most of them before dinner as well - just too difficult to resist :)

hollybelle on 03/20/2013:
Yes, some things we just mustn't have around!

Tangalyn~ on 03/20/2013:
that is how things ALWAYS end up with me and nuts.. its crazy... hope today is a good one for ya!! :D

hollybelle on 03/20/2013:
Thanks, Tange.

V on 03/20/2013:
I am NUTS about nuts, LOL sorry had to do it :P Seriously I think I was telling Tang that I have to pre portion my servings because if i eat them out the can, I could polish off the entire thing..Her BTW thenewMLE has a recipe for candied pecans using SF Torani if you are looking for a healthier alternative..Hey how is R doing? I hope she is feeling better <3

hollybelle on 03/21/2013:
Oh dont get me started on nuts - I know, I know. I remembered about MLE's recipe AFTER I already made those! I don't know if I'll ever make them again because I just can't stop eating them. But if I do - I'll look up that recipe. I usually keep some Torani syrups around.....Rach is OK - no more pains in the middle of the night - must have been something that passed through (NO pun intended). Odd, though!

Hey - everyone - I am not sure I'm operating correctly now that the site has some changes.  Are you all getting the comments I am leaving when I reply to your comments on my diary? I'm a little confused how it all works now.

TUE Entry:

I did very well on food yesterday.  I ate good meals, maybe a little too much  starchy carbs, but not bad at all overall.  I fought the urge to munch on granola bar late at night.  I save those for a sweet treat or emergency breakfast when I have to have one.  But I didn't eat one.  I would like to make some homemade ones someday.....But I use the store bought ones for now.

No exercise yesterday.....Just tired from Sunday night and getting up early  I must learn to exercise even though tirired.  I am tired almost every single day, so if I expect to get more fit I need to workout anyway.  I KNOW it will give me more energy - not take away.....mind over matter.

Is it just me or is anyone else having a really hard time walking through the grocery and drug stores with all the EASTER CANDY shouting out to them from the shelves?  It's not too bad this year - I just don't actually LOOK at it and I keep reminding myself how BAD it makes me feel.

B:  Coffee,  Smoothie??  300

L:  Lunch plans changed - Cracker Barrel with a friend - I had a good homecooked meal - meatloaf, mashed potatoes and slaw and one corn muffin with jam - This will BY FAR be the majority of my calories today.  I will go easy for dinner.  No in between eating, either!  720

D: Candied Pecans, a few bites of grilled chicken,  brussel sprouts

More later.....

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

Puddles on 03/19/2013:
when you write your new entries I do get to see and I get your comments on my post. Have a great day .

OhioRaven on 03/19/2013:
Yep! I see your posts. Good Will Power !

getmebackto150 on 03/19/2013:
Baaahhhhh... I was in Target last night... and didn't even look twice at the huge Easter candy aisle, but... then when I was waiting in line at the register there was a larger than life display of cadbury mini eggs, reeses eggs, and cadbury cream eggs... Mounds and mounds of them... they are my absolute 3 favorites... Oh my, I have to stop typing about this as my mouth is watering!!!!!

hollybelle on 03/19/2013:
I know it's not air they put them up there. If I can just get to the thought:"No those are not good for me" amd mean it in time or I'm not at a weak moment when I think: "Oh what the Hell" or someething equally destructive then I can make it! Right now I am pretty motivated. I haven't been at all, so I'm glad its going this way for a change.

Umpqua on 03/19/2013:
Oh yeah, I'm holding off on getting the boys' Easter candy til the week before. My younger son doesn't have much interest in candy or sweets (jealous of him in some ways) but the older one will try to stuff as much into his mouth as possible. So we have to be careful he doesn't get too sugared up haha!

RE the comments, when you get an email that someone has commented click on the link and it will take you directly to that comment - whether it's on your entry or someone else's. That's how I've been doing it so it doesn't get too confusing.

hollybelle on 03/19/2013:
I like the older one's strategy - get as much in there as possible. Sugar is best in abundance....just kidding! It's my downfall. I have done really well for two weeks, though. Much better.

grannyannie on 03/19/2013:
I've signed up for email alerts so I know when someone has replied to my comments. That's really the only way to know.

I avoid the candy and cookie aisle except that's where they keep my oatcakes. So I grab them quickly and try not to look at what else is on the shelves! LOL.

hollybelle on 03/19/2013:
Yes, a I have employed that stragegy, too! Grab the essentials and run. I find that sticking with a list helps, too, but I miss out on tryig new things when I do that.

legcramps on 03/19/2013:
I hadn't actually noticed any easter candy at the grocery store last weekend... sometimes i'm so glad i'm not very observant ;)

hollybelle on 03/19/2013:
Yes, that is a blessing sometimes! ;-)

V on 03/19/2013:
Thankfully sweets are not my thing, I don't even notice them..Be stronger than the candy Holly! Hope you had a wonderful day :)

hollybelle on 03/20/2013:
Yes, stronger than candy, V! I am doing OK, really. Had a bitf of a fiasco Tue night with candied pecans I made for our salad (on a whim). I won't be making them again. Plain pecans are best!

MzLovely on 03/19/2013:
LOL it sux cuz I Loooove sweets and I'm on a plan where for the first 8 weeks noooo sweets except for a lil dark chocolate is allowed :(:( and I'm only on day 2 so no Easter stuff for me :-/

hollybelle on 03/20/2013:
We won't miss the sweets as much as we will enjoy a lower weight, MsL. Hang in there. That susgary stuff is more or less poison! I am doing better, not eatingany candy, cookies, pie, cake, etc., but I know there is sugar in some of the processed foods I eat. I am planning on desserts 2 times per week. I don't believe in total elimination of any particular food group altogether as I know I will break over. We all must find what works! Good news is that the longer you we are off sugar, the less we crave it! That is for sure true! It takes about 3 days for the cravings to subside significantly!

Weight: 164.4

Was going to update yesterday's diary, but decdied to post everything I was going to say there, here on new entry.

I had the most wonderful meal yesterday.  I stuck with my plan to eat light and then have a indulgent dinner.  It worked our really well.

B:  Oatmeal with brown sugar and almonds, coffee

L:  1 C split pea soup and 1/2 oz cheese, tea

D:  Pear and Pecan salad with goat cheese, 5 fried oysters with cheese grits and country ham, pumpkin bread pudding with buttermilk ice cream and cranberry compote all of which was heavenly!  Best meal I have had in years!  Oysters were melt in your mouth,  Salad was great, dessert, although more for Fall was really nice.  This was salad and appetizer plus dessert which Mark shared.  No alcohol - no sweat for me on the alcohol.

Even with all that I don't think I truly over did it!

Anyway - looking forward to another successful week.  We have wild weather here.  Yesterday it rained all day long - all the way to and from Louisville - abotut 1.5 hour drive.  One way.  Then we had rain all night and thunder storms in the early hours with HAIL (small stones) about 6:00.  I am ready for spring.  I need to start cleaning up the yard and getting it pretty.  We'll see.

B:  Coffee and banana and granola bar

L:  1 roll w butter 1/2 wedge salad, 1 buffalo chick sandwich - med size between mini and regular

S;  3 pita chips and 1 T hummus

D:  1 C Spaghetti and meat sauce, 1 orange, 6 strawberries,

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

Umpqua on 03/18/2013:
Your dinner last night sounds amazing and glad you enjoyed the concert! I haven't seen Yes but have seen King Crimson several times (Bill Bruford) and they come from the same school of Prog Rock. We're actually going to see Tony Levin locally next week.

You're doing great with the eating and riding too, keep up the excellent work! Also, JEALOUS to hear about your gardening. We're getting more snow tonight! I do have bulbs that have broken ground, looking forward to actually seeing flowers soon :)

hollybelle on 03/18/2013:
it was good. I didn't comment about the concert, did you notice? But I did put a lot of comments on Ohio R's diary in response to his comments to me. They were good and I loved the new singer. Sounds a lot like John Anderson who had to give up performing due to vocal cord problems. He had one of the most unique voice of all times. We are taking a dip in temp here this week, but hopefully no snow! Hurry SPRING!

Umpqua on 03/18/2013:
Actually I noticed and saw your comments to Ohio haha. I agree about Jon Anderson's voice but Yes' music is sometimes too mathematical for me if that makes sense. Crimson can be that way too but I generally like them. I'm sure your hubby was ecstatic ;)

hollybelle on 03/18/2013:
I think I know what you mean by mathmatical. For me YES's work is great for a song or two, but, for me, it gets repetitious after awhile. We actually left about 20 min early due to poor weather and the need to get out of the parking garage early to get on the road home. Mark said he didn't mind bc they were playing the music from an album he didn't like as much. He was pretty happy. The crowd was crazy, though. Bunch of old people being eccentric - more than usual, if you ask me!

Puddles on 03/18/2013:
Good to get away once in a while. Too bad the weather did not cooperate but a lot of fun was to be had overall. Enjoy your day and have a great week.

OhioRaven on 03/18/2013:
Good weekend ! I used to read the newspaper and see just what musicians were coming around here every Friday. But now I get my news online. The Taft is a nice "Old" place, Great acoustics.

Updated on my food and exercise for yesterday on yesterday's diary entry.  Didn't ride as far as I would have liked.  My muscles were a little fatigued as I rode the 16 mi the night before and I didn't sleep well, I cleaned house and did laundry - exciting stuff,  I know.  LOL.

Today we are going to Louisville to a Yes (the band) concert and out to eat at 5:30 for dinner (so we can make the concert time - we aren't so old yet that we prefer this dinner time -Ha!). Yes has always been one of Mark's favorites and we have seen them several times.  I am only going because he couldn't find a guy friend to go with him and I get dinner at a nice restaurant.  Restaurant called Jack Frye's.....

Exercise for today - not sure it's raining here and only going to be 42 degrees.  We had 72 degrees here yesterday - woo-hoo.

Next week will plan to ride bike all I can and begin whipping the yard in shape.  Daughter was by the house this morning - she comes to the Starbucks near here - and she was talking about beginning to clean up their yard for Spring!  She always helped me do yard work - ever since she was little.  It's nice to see that she will probably continue that now that she has a house/yard of her own.  I gave her some garden gloves and my old bypass pruners.  The stuff in their yard isn't very big, so that should get them by for now.  I gave her a big pot for hr front porch and a gift certificate for potting soil and plants as part of a shower gift.  She asked me to helpt her choose what kind of flowers to put in it this Spring.  I told her to begin notiicing the sun pattern on the porch.  They have a little alcove type porch -  and I'm not sure how much sun the pot will get once it's placed, etc.  The amount of sun, will, of course determine the choices we have for flowers, etc......fun.

My plan today is to eat a very light lunch, lots of water and have a wonderful, but reasonable dinner.

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

Puddles on 03/17/2013:
Have a great outing.

grannyannie on 03/17/2013:
Enjoy the concert. Hey, we eat between 5-5.30. Does that mean we are OLD?! LOL.

hollybelle on 03/18/2013:
I think it does, Annie! LOL - Nah! Just kidding. I have always associated it with grandparents, as my GPs are really early. It was because they got up really early in the a.m., so I think it's all relative. Just depends on your over all schedule, I guess! I will be 59 this year so I'll let you know!!

OhioRaven on 03/17/2013:
Tell Mark I will go with him next time. I grew up listenig to,YES.

hollybelle on 03/18/2013:
I like them, too. I have seen them so much and I hear them all the time bc Mark plays their music all the time, that it's kind of a running joke with us. They were really good last night. They have a new singer that sounds much more like Jon Anderson. His name is also Jon - Jon Davison. He is much younger than the rest of the band. Great voice. Their music, as you know is very complicated and difficult to play and to sing. Very talented. Very close to the original-maybe a little less powerful, but it's impossible to tell when you are comparing live with recorded. So who knows. I did enjoy it. We saw them at the Taft Theatre in Cincinnati a few years ago and they tend to return to the same ventues, maybe you can catch them there. Are you close to Cincin??re in .

Tangalyn~ on 03/17/2013:
hope u have a good time at the concert!

horn_of_plenty on 03/17/2013:
the walk was nice! it was cold, but nice and sunny. perfect day for a walk - plus, it helped me visualize a new route to the gym! haha. still getting to know the area. it's interesting doing it all with little time off from work. i am getting into it, liking it, feeling good about everything :-) thank you!

Update on daughter - doc didn't find a cyst and severe pain has not appeared in two nights.  Doc did blood work so may know more later.

MIL is feeling better.  Husband will be visiting her today.  I was going to go, but decided to catch up on housework and ride my bike today  -  weather is so beautiful here.  Rain has been delayed until tomorrow.

I rode 16 miles last night on bike.  I didn't go to the big closed trail due to 5:00 crazy traffic but rode to the 2.5 trail nearer to my house and rode it 3 times plus mileage there, back and in between.  Did pretty well.  All things considered I am starting at a higher level than last year.  I hope to get at least 16-18 miles in today.  No saddle soreness yet!

Food yesterday ended on a good note.  Hope for same today.

B:  coffee and ww toasster waffle w jam

L:  Beets, Slaw, cheese

S:  Granola bar with PNB

We always worry about our kids. It is worst when they are sick and we don't know what it is or what to do.

Ain't it the truth!

Sorry for the brief absence.  My laptop was not working right Wed and Thurs.

Yesterday food:

B:  Banana and coffee

L:  Slaw (healthy version), grapes, 1 oz cheese, 1 boiled egg, 1 C natural tomato soup

S:  Yikes - cake with icing!

D:  1 1/2 cups spaghetti with meat sauce, tea

Was an excellent day on food except the cake!  I had a great food day on Wednesday.  I am doing better.  At least parts of my days are good.  I am doing better.

Concerned about daughter - she has been having severe abdominal pain in the middle of the night while sleeping - wakes her up 1-2 times a night.  She's going to doc today at 1:00.  She talked to them earlier in the week and they seem to think the problem might be ovanian cyst.  Weird that pain is only after laying down for a few hours.  She is still teaching classes and taking a nap to catch up on sleep.  Has anyone on here had experience like this?  They asked correct questions to rule out fever, ab tenderness, other signs of serious stuff, like appendicitis and ectopic pregnancy, but it worries me.

Also - MIL is a little better.  She got catheter out yesterday as swelling was lessened and now if all goes well she will continue to gain strength and feel better.  PET scan in about 2 weeks.  That will tell the real tale.  We are, of course hopeing and praying for a really good report from the scan - no cancer, please!

  More later

B:  Oatmeal with cinnamon and truvia and coffee

S:  Cheese (tiny piece 1 inch square) a few grapes

L:  1 slice of thin crust (cracker crust) pizza w pepperoni -office party, slaw and a few more grapes

D:  Beets, Roasted Butternut squash, 4 pita chips and 1 T hummus

If it doesn't rain earlier than expected I will take bike to enclosed trail for a 16-18 mile ride.  I commented to Biscotti that I "should" be able to do this - alhough it will only be my 3rd ride this year and 1st in about 2-3 weeks, it gets dark later now, so I should be able to make it back before dark - if not - send the Mounted Police to rescue me!

Update - 16 miles on the bike - it felt really good.  Avg about 14 MPH.  Not shabby at all.for this time of the season!  No saddle soreness, I don't think.

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

Praying for Daughter and Mother in law. I had gall stones once that sounded something like what your daughter is going through. Take Care Holly.

Puddles on 03/15/2013:
Hope everything turns out OK. Have a great day.

Thinking of R and hoping all is OK with her. I'm sure she's had an ultrasound by now to try to figure out what the issue is. Good news that your MIL is feeling a little better!

OhioRaven on 03/15/2013:
Thanks, Holly Belle. You guys bring out the best in me.

biscottibody59 on 03/15/2013:
Hope all goes well with your daughter (sounds a little scary) and she finds out what's hurting soon! Best wishes for a good outcome for your MIL--she sounds like a strong woman!

Here's to some good biking weather for you soon--I bet you'll be out there in no time!

hollybelle on 03/15/2013:
Yes - good biking weather! If the rain doesn't come early today I am going to leave work at 4:00 and go to the enclosed trail and try to ride 16-18 miles. It doesn't get dark until later, so I should have time to get back before dark!! LOL! If not send the Mounties after me!

lolla on 03/15/2013:
oh, sorry to hear your daughter is in pain, glad you are getting her checked out soon. Glad your MIL is better and I am praying for both. Hope you have a great weekend!!! Thanks for the support!

grannyannie on 03/15/2013:
Hope your daughter's problem is easily taken care of. I've never had anything like this but my first thought was ectopic pregnancy. Hope your MIL doesn't have cancer!

hollybelle on 03/15/2013:
MIL was diagnosed with cervical cancer last October. The bladder problems she has had recently were the result of intense (internal) radiation therapy she had to treat the cancer. Hoping the swelling caused by the radiation around the bladder has sufficiently reduced so as to allow her bladder to function properly again. I'll post about daughter when we know more. She had a pain-free night last night.

grannyannie on 03/15/2013:
Yes, do keep us posted on both daughter and MIL, Holly.

Tangalyn~ on 03/15/2013:
hope everything is fine with ur daughter.. try to have a good day!

V on 03/15/2013:
Sending prayers out for R and MIL <3 Please keep me updated okay? I hope that R will get answers soon..

hollybelle on 03/15/2013:
Well, she was pain free last night for the first time in a week. She went to the doc today and all he did was bloodwork. It may be a wait and see situation.

Praying that your daughter and MIL will be feeling better soon!

Wedding weekend is history - it went very well!  Nice rehearsal dinner, We had EXCELLENT weather - what good luck-got to take pictures outside on Saturday.  The music was wonderful - string quartet of Rachel's SCAPA friends - You can check out my FB page to see some pictures and a video of Rachel and her Dad's dance.  Keep in mind my husband is NOT a dancer at all - they practiced for WEEKS.  One of he best parts of the day was the look on Will's face when he saw Rachel and while they were standing a the alter exchanging vows. No signs of nervousness at all from either!

BUT.......seeing pictures of myself - ugh!   I have LOTS of work to do!  Wish I'd been in better shape for these pictures, but was not in the cards.  I have gained about 15 lbs and it's the 15 lbs that makes all the difference in the world!  Onward and upward!

Update 2:40 p.m.

B:  Banana and coffee

L:  Lean Cusine Lasagna

S:  2 slices turkey and 1 C red seedless grapes

D:   Salad with 2 Cups Greens and baby spinach, 1/8 C sliced almonds, driedcranberries,    Santa Fe Tortilla strips, feta and asian sesame dressing

Going to church and will eat a little more later

D:  Butternut squash soup with a little cyanne pepper and parmasan cheese

Made slaw and boiled eggs for snacks and lunch etc. tomorrow.  I remember how to do this - always be prepared and have healthy snacks available so I don't resort to junk or unhealthy items!  I can do this.

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

Puddles on 03/13/2013:
Happy to hear all went well. Have a great day.

Umpqua on 03/13/2013:
I saw a few of the pictures, you all look beautiful! I especially love the photo of the happy couple and both sets of parents kissing :)

Thanks for checking in on me, I'm feeling much improved now. This health scare was definitely a wake up call for me and I will be much more mindful about everything moving forward. I'm not about to cave in and let health issues consume me when there's a chance I can control them through food.

Looking forward to seeing more posts from you!

hollybelle on 03/13/2013:
Yes, I told Mark his butt was stuck out so far on that kissing pic that we looked like we thought the other one might have "cooties". You had to be there, but it was an awkward moment for everyone except Rach and Will. :-)

So glad the wedding went well!!!!! Now that its done, you have time to focus on you :)

hollybelle on 03/13/2013:
Yep focus on my health!

grannyannie on 03/13/2013:
Glad the wedding went well. Onward and upward! :)

lolla on 03/13/2013:
I know it sucks to gain weight 'cos I am going to see my parents in Brazil and so wished I was so much lighter but I just think hey, I am ABLE to go, to be there and that should be the only thing that matters. I am so happy you went and that it was beautiful, congrats to the newlyweds and now you can focus on your journey.

Umpqua on 03/13/2013:
Here is that cole slaw recipe btw. Super easy! http://blog.fatfreevegan.com/2013/02/orange-sesame-coleslaw.html

hollybelle on 03/15/2013:
Thank you, Laura! I wound up making some slaw this week - my own conncoction. I will definitely make this one soon. I didn't have the oranges! I really liked the website that this recipe came from, too. Interesting: fat free vegan. Rachel may like some of the recipes on there, too!

V on 03/13/2013:

Hi all.  I am still around.  Getting ready for the wedding next weekend.  Getting pretty excited.  We have almost everything done.  I think, we do, at least!  It looks like we'll have 145 guests for dinner and dancing afterwards. I will need to get some jewelry and maybe some other shoes. I have jewelry and shoes I can wear, but I'm not crazy about them....so we'll see.

Couple of sad things - doesn't look like my MIL and FIL will get to come to the wedding.  She is doing fair, but has had some complications involving the bladder from her intensive radiation treatments and the hour and a half ride, not to mention the whole excitment of the day would probably been too much for her.  It makes me very sad.  My FIL won't come without her, I'm sure.  Other sad thing - I lost a good friend this week.  He had been dx with melanoma a year ago. He was 43 years old.

Couple of happy things - have been going to wedding showers for a few weeks and having a good time.  It is supposed to be good weather here on the wedding day - 60 degrees and slight wind!  Not hardly any chance of rain!  So Happy about the prospect of good weather for the wedding.  Hope that forecast holds out!

I have not been eating either great or terrible.  Not much exercise, though and no change in weight.

Went back on hormones last week and I think I feel more energy and - spting is coming!
