Updated yesterday's entry - recap:  proceodure when OK.  I'm a little sore.  Took it easy last night.  Friend went on 10 mi bike ride alone.  That was great - especially since it was so hot.  Daughter arrived LV safe and called a couple of times.  Yay!

Today I'll go home for lunch since I will need to take care of the pooches.  It's really hot - not very humid just yet, but it's coming.  They need to spend the afternoon in their kennels in the cool basement.  They really like it - it's not cruel.  By lunch time they are ready for a big nap!

I'm glad all went well Holly. My friend's dog was crated before she adopted her and even though my friend doesn't use the crate, the dog will still go to the open crate to nap during the day, it's her own little space and she loves it!

Good morning.  Rested yesterday so not getting off to a running start tis week.  Having second round of hormone replacement "pellets" installed today at 4:30.  Won't get to ride bike today. Told friend she should come and get th bike and ride by herself anyway.  I hope she will.

Daughter went to Louisville last night in preparation to fly out of that airport to Las Vegas this morning.  She will get to Las Vegas at 5:00 our time this afternoon.  She has to be by herself the next two days and then her friend will be joining her.  She is planning to take a shuttle to the hotel, not a cab.  That's probably a good idea.  I will feel better when she is there and settled.  This is her BB Coach's Summit and P90X training is the first two days.

Procedure went OK.  I am not too sore yet.  It is friustrating because I can still exercise, but no sweating as it may cause infection.  I was "going to" lift weights, but went to grocery, fixed dinner and stopped by moms and then rested on couch!  I feel so lazy!  I will do better tomorrow.  

Heard from daughter and she seems to be doing fine.  She has communicated more this trip than ever before and that has lessened my worries.  Usually she goes off and doesn't call, text or anything for the whole week.  So I feel OK about that.

My friend came and took the bike for a spin - 10 miles ON HER OWN!  She's going to keep it a few days.

I am sure R is going to enjoy her first Summit! I know you can't help but to worry a little but she will be just fine..Vegas is gonna be taken over by "Team Beachbody" I can't wait to go next year and I am sure she will ACE her P90 instructor training <3 have a good day Holly!

How exciting for your daughter! I had to go to Vegas many years ago for a business trip and my friend joined me at the end and we had a great time seeing a Cirque de Soleil show and hiking on the Colorado River. I hope you have a great week!

I know all about the Mom worries.My MOM is the WORSE..hahaha I usually chat with her every Monday and God forbid if I have to work and forget to tell her, she will call Crabby's in a heartbeat, even more embarassing is the cops showing up at the door stating that I should pick up the phone once in a while to let my folks know that I am okay :( Point taken, that was when I moved to Fl. 9ish years ago..I never let a week go by without calling since then...LOL

Girl, those "over" 100 miles is a great accomplishment and to add walking on top of it is just the cherry on top!! Don't worry this week. Take it easy after your procedure and tackle it again next week and maybe the humidity will be kinder to you then! Hope you feel OK and don't worry too hard about your daughter, I'm sure she has Mom's confidence and smarts about her! Really, with the cell phones now, you can really stay connected to her as long as you want!

I know that it can be nerve wracking to have your daughter away & on her own. I'm sure she'll be fine & hope she will keep in touch. Thanks for the suggestion on the oatmeal although I'm not a big oatmeal fan, maybe a different cereal, I'll have to look into it.

Well, I was MIA yesterday due to family obligations. As an update - Friday I rode 16 miles so that put me at 101 for the week!  Yay!  Yesterday morning I was going to ride, but it was so humid I couldn't believe it was not raining.  So I wound up going to the park for a walk with a friend.  We were really wet by the time we came home - nasty!

I will try and ride today - at least 25 miles, because I'd lke to get a head start on the weeks miles total, but if it's not cooler later I will do the ET and I am going to lift some weights regardless.

Happy Father's Day to all the dad's in your life.  This is the first one without my Dad.  Even though he usually  didn't want us to make a big deal of it I miss him.

We went to picnic at husban's Uncle's house.  Good time.  Fireworks - over ate some, but no big deal.  One night.

Also - my bkiing friend (the regular one) texted me yesterday.  She is down 4 lbs this week.  She's been weighing in at home on Sat mornings - that makes at least 9 lbs since she  started weighing two weeks ago.  We have been riding about 6 weeks, so she doesn't know exactly how many pounds she's down all together.  Exciting.  I am down, but not sure how much since, due to my obsessive tendencies, I do not weigh, but my clothes sure do feel a lot better and I can tell the area above my knees looks so much better.  The mid-section is more toned, but it has a way to go!  I'll take whatever I can get - I am better each week.  Stonger, more endurance, longer distance and more ease - those are my scales!

Had my entry all typed out - and it disappeared and my laptop shut down!  Weird.

Anyway - 25 miles last night.  9 miles with new cycling friend who did very well.  She was dehydrated (she'll learn) and was nauseous and had to stop alot, but she loved it.  This makes 85 miles for me this week.  Woo-Hoo!  I will ride around 15-20 tonight and at least 20 on the weekend so hopefully I'll have around 125 miles this week.  My lower back - on the right - is hurting.  Not sure why, except I have been walking weird because of a cut on my right heel....may have thrown me off.

More later.....

Food was good yesterday.  I am saving up for cookout this weekend.

And my 22nd wedding anniversary is TODAY!  We went to concert and stuff last weekend - so nothing really planned, but we don't usually celebrate on the day.

16 miles tonight so I am officially at 101 for the week.

25 MILES? Wow! Thats great!! Are you writing down all the miles you've done so far this year? It would be interesting to see what that equates to in total miles from your house to a favorite destination of yours. I love Destin, Fl and thats roughly 350 mile car ride from my house!

Happy Anniversary Holly!!! You are banging out the miles!! Did you ever get an app for your phone to track your miles, speed and calories? I hope you have great rides this weekend. I am riding alone this evening because hubby is in Natchez and SIL is trying to sabotage me with food and alcohol so I am entertaining myself and riding at MY speed (which is fast) and coming home when I am ready. I don't have to feed kids tonight so it should be relaxing! Can't wait to hear about your weekend rides!

Aww Happy Anniversary :) That was a nice date last week in clebration and that is too bad that the turnout wasn't that great but you should think of it as the band playing just for you and hubby along with a few "guests" LOL I am sure my parents would have been cutting a rug of they were there!! 13 miles with my friend last night.  Pretty slow - but no stops.  Very challenging hills and we added some territory that was not as hilly to add onto the 8-9 miles.  I need to ride harder and faster to keep burning the calories and building muscle.  I plan to haul the bike to the Legacy Trail tonight and get at least 18 miles in.  The humidity is going up again, but it still should be fairly pleasant tonight.  It's going up very high this weekend and I don't know if I can stand it.  I may have to resort to Zumba, wieghts, or other modes during the hot hours and bike ride either really early or really late.  I need to do more weights, anyway.

Food was good yesterday.

UPDATE:  25 miles tonight.....I am pretty tired.  Drinking recovery drink now.  Bath and bed soon!  :o)  I am a happy camper.  I have ridden 85 miles this week, so far, I think.  Yup distributed below....

Your friend is really progressing! I hear you on the water... I realized last night that I had only had 20 oz of liquid yesterday ( 10 oz water, 10 oz coffee) and that is just me slipping into my old habits. I used to sip a 10 oz coffee for 4 hours and then switch to a 12 oz diet drink that I would only drink half before I left for home. Since the lifestyle change, I subbed the soft drink with 3 10 oz glasses of water with lime or lemon and a little Torani SF syrup for flavor. But I have to consciously drink and fill that water glass. So today I WILL take in more water!! Hope you get your longer ride tonight!

Updated yesterday's post - did 12 miles cycling - see details below - with friend.  She wanted to make up for not riding Monday.  Oh, yes, she is into it!

Today got up at 5:00 to go to a 7:00 meeting across town.  Meeting went well.  I will leave work early this afternoon to make up for it.  I left my house at 6:30.

Will ride this afternoon by myself awhile and with friend awhile.

Church group tonight.

Went home early from work since I went to work so early.  I took a nap and was too whipped to go to church group.  Sorry to miss it, but I needed rest.  I went ahead and rode bike with friend.  We did right at 13 miles of hills and more flat tonight.  I would like to ride harder and faster, but I hate to leave her too far behind.  I will ride harder tomorrow night.  I think I'll haul the bike out to the Legacy Trail and do the 18 miles tomorrow.

P.S. Saw your comment to V and I watch Mad Men. I've read a lot of mixed reviews about this season but I think it hit its stride about halfway through and I enjoyed it - even with Roger's crazy psychedelic experiments haha. I like that it's maybe even more about women and their changing role in society than men, especially this season.

no, I didnt take alteril last night/ However, I have noticed that on the nights I do take it that I usually fall asleep pretty quickly if Im woken up.

BTW, a few nights ago, I took something called "Knock Out" and I was so drowsy the next day. Alteril doesnt make me feel that way when I wake up!

So Umpqua beat me to it but i was going to tell you that she watches Mad Men..I have yet to jump on that train because i am sure i would be hooked as well..The few shows I faithfully watch let me down big time.All starting with the departure of Bobby Goren :( LOL I was a huge fan of Stabler when he was in "Oz"(ever watch that one on HBO) It was a little graphic to say the least about prison life and surprisingly, most of the cast of Oz has been on Law and Order.. Coincidence?? I think NOT ;) LOL Great job as usual with your workouts!

Due to obligations for my mother and one thing and another I didn't get home last night after work until almost 9:00.  Too tired to do anything much.  So much for good intentions.  I'll make up for it tonight, though.  Also - husband wanted to go eat Mexican and although it could have been worse, I didn't know we were going and hadn't planned for it so I overate a bit yesterday - mostly it was bakery goods from the mexican bakery next door to the restaurant!  But one day won't submarine me.  

More later.  Busy day at work today and tomorrow - will be glad when stress is over.  Saturday we have yet another family cookout Saturday.  It begins at 4:00 in Northern KY about an hour and a half away.  So I'll need to plan for that.

15 minutes of power abs this morning.  Woo-hoo!

12 mile bike ride - SLOW - with friend.  Lots of hills the first half, though.  Actually the whole first 6 miles is HILLS, period We go back another way so the last half is mixed - not all downhill, either.  Friend was a trooper.  

Food was OK.

RYC I certainly hope that wasn't the last show for the season, at the end of the show Captain Craigan woke up to a dead body next to him..That would suck if I had to wait til the season starts up again. Talk about a cliff hanger..LOL I am sure they will re run the show sometime this week, I will let ya know so you can DVR it..

I push through work so I can enjoy the rest of my time, even if it is just dinner or a bike ride. I over slept this morning and was late for work which has only ever happened one other time in 7 years! Guess I was just tired! Hope your day isn't too stressful!

Please don't tell me you have a thing for Stabler TOO, I do hahahaha..So rumor has it is that he wanted more money and the show wasn't having it..They didn't write him out of the show, he is working some "special task force" of some sort?? That is what I heard from one of my customers who is an SVU Fanatic..I guess that kinda leaves it open if he decided to come back(I hope so) Which BTW I just don't like Jeff Goldblum in CI, it is just not the same without Bobby, I don't watch that one anymore(if it is still on) I just catch Goren on the many reruns which I have seen them all before but ya can't help watching the master do his thing ;) LOL Oh Olivia is now dating a DA played by Harry Connick Jr.. I was so hoping that she and Stabler would eventually hook up :)

Check out my diary entry yesterday - went for a bike ride.  It was great.   35.25 miles!  After doing the 25 miles last Sunday I just knew I could do more.  So I took some easy shorter rides during the week last week, rested up on Saturday and went for it on Sunday.  I also met a lady that is interested in riding some during the week, so maybe on Tues & Thurs.  She really doesn't have a proper bike for the road it is more of a mt bike.  It has a "girl" top tube (dropped) which I am not a fan of at all-that weakens the frame over all.  She knows she needs another bike so we'll see what happens.  She was riding with her husband and son.  I thought I'd be really sore today - but just experiencing muscle fatigue feeling for the most part - YAY!  I drank a Gatorade G in the middle of the ride = best choice at convenience store and drank the recovery drink afterwards.

My total miles last week were around 68.  Not bad considering I didn't ride Monday bc of rain - but worked out with ET and weights, went to a movie Tuesday and took Saturday off.  

Off to have a cup of coffee.  Work today and take Mom's doggy to the groomer.  I have a big week at work and I hope it goes well.

You all may have noticed I'm not posting my meals lately.  I am trying it this way for awhile.  In the past that hasn't worked so well, but for some reason it seems to be OK now.  I am just trying to eat well, exercise a lot and not worry about the food part too much.  Mostly 3 meals a day but snacks in between if I get hungry or am planning a lot of exercise and won't have a chance to eat until late.  

It's raining here - which mean I don't have to water flowers.  If it keeps this up I will be doing the ET and AB JAM dvd tonight.

What an awesome ride!!! Congrats on all that mileage. We rode Friday night in the rain and again the winds were so high that the rain was stinging my eyes so we only did 11 miles. I really need and want a big ride soon. Glad you found another riding partner. Is your "leiserly" riding friend still interested? Have a good Monday!

Yesterday I took it easy and caught up on some stuff - laundry and went to the grocery - exciting stuff!  I was kind of bummed our because of harsh words from daughter who was upset that we have house rules and we had to point out that she is not complying with them.  SIGH!  She is so wonderful in so many ways - household responsibilities - not so much.

Anyway  - you all have seen posts from me about riding the Legacy Trail here in town that is 18 miles.  Usually I haul the bike out and ride it.  Wellllllll......this morning I hopped on the bike with the intention of RIDING out to the Legacy Trail and riding maybe 1/2 of it and riding back home - well I didn't do that.  I rode ALL of it and rode back home!  35.25 miles!  Woo--hoo!  Now, picture me taking bow!  The weather was very very humid, but totally overcast so that enabled me to do it.  I think it was about 85 degrees. 

Eating a bite and will post more later!!

Good that you got along better today and i forgot to say that I didn't even think about returning the Smoked Salmon..It was the Chicken of the Sea Brand..I have no problem with the wild caught regular COS but this was alot like pouring salt straight out the box and eating it :(

The concert was good. VERY small crowd.  It was almost like a private party where you didn't know anyone else - LOL!  The wam up band was pretty good, too,  During AWB they stayed in the crowd and danced with a bunch of people.  I only had one special drink and we were home by 12:30.

Got to get going on some chores and see what the day brings forth!

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!
