Only rode about 9 miles last night - got a later start-but I went!  Will ride 10-12 tonight and a big ride either Sat or Sun. 

Going to concert tonight - Average White Band - at Buster's (little place we have been to before).  Hope there is a good crowd. Walk down memory lane. 

UPDATE:  Only rode 8 miles on bike with friend, but we practiced on hills - which was hard for friend. As for me, I didn't want to ride too many miles tonight because am saving up for big ride sat or sun.  We rode over to daughter's studio and watched her teach part of a dance lesson- cha-cha.  My friend wanted to see the studio in case she decides to do a Zumba class one night.

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

Hope you are having fun at the concert! Short rides are better than no rides! We did 10 miles tonight while it sporadically stormed. I don't think much will happen this weekend because the weather doesn't look good. Enjoy your weekend!

Thank you all for the comments!  I rode bike 15.5 miles last night - perfect weather.  I can tell I am getting stronger!  Going to ride tonight if possible - Probably the same amount, probably around 10-12 tomorrow night and a big ride 25-30 on Satday or Sunday.  

Going to have to take the old bike (the one my friend rides) in to the shop as the seat is loose.  I am not sure if it's broken or needs adjustment.  I hope not too expensive.  She offered to pay for it and felt badly that it happened while she was riding....it just happens - that seat has a lot of miles on it!

Ate fine yesterday!  Birthday at the office today - I made the cake, my turn - a coconut one - very delicious - if I do say so, myself.  Put raspberries on top! 

I have on those tight capri pants again today and today I didn't have to strain to button them.  They are still tight, but I think 5 more punds and they will be good to go!  After they fit well I just might weight myself and update the weight above.  I think it's a little high - but who cares?  Not me - I'm just doing the right things these days and my body is doing it's thing pretty well.

UPDATE on the trip to Bike "Hospital/Emergency Room" - The seat had to be replaced.  Seat on this bike (1997 Giant Cypress!!!) is bolted on.  The hard plastic piece that goes into the bolt clip under the seat broke and can't repair that.  The seat stem was fine.  It was turning because it wasn't clamped tight.  So $51 later - better than before -  new seat is good.  I test rode it and I had forgotten how much I like that bike. 

Only rode 9 miles tonight got a late start and it was getting dark and BRIGHT sun in the eyes as it went down.  Dangerous on both counts so rode on home.  Will ride some tomorrow-probably 12-15 mi and go concert - AVERAGE WHITE BAND for those of you who know who they are/were????  Should be fun and then I'll ride a big logn ride Sat or Sun or both.  It's supposed to be HOT again - upper 80s -not like the 96 we had two weekends ago, at least.

You are doing everything exactly right and those pants are proof of that! I'm NOT looking forward to expensive birthday parties involving mini golf and other themed activities. Since the boys are little I can get away with simple parties at home for now and will do so for as long as possible. I do think home parties are the norm in my area since we're rural and there aren't a whole lot of nearby options. We are very lucky we have the pool and can do pool parties in June if the weather cooperates (fingers crossed!)

hahaha!!! The BIKE rides aren't obsessive - my eating the stupid cinnamon rolls whether fresh or stale is the obsessive behavior!!! RYC, the cookbooks were made for my family but I wound up selling over 100 to friends that saw them and liked them. It was done through tastebook.com and it was free for me to design and use the cookbook online, but it was about $45 to print in a hardcover with color pictures and it had about 135 recipes in it. The second book was $35 and it at only 50 recipes. They have since changed the physical product and raised the price again so I can't see where anyone would want to spend $50 on a cookbook. Send me your email address and I can give you the link and you can use the books for free online. I like to cook from my computer in the kitchen anyway!

The trail we rode on was previously a train track. Except for a mile or two of tarred it's a finely ground gravel trail, well-maintained. We stopped once for a snack of cereal bars, I stopped to take photos quite a few times. A shuttle took us to the beginning and we rode back. Started at 11am and got back at 3.30. Trail was mostly flat, through almost all wooded areas, some riverside, some farmland.

The movie was good.  I recommend it, although, older persons (50+) may enjoy it more than younger - more to relate to, in some ways. I really kind of regretted committing to it because it was such a beautiful night, but it was good to get out and socialize a bit.  

I did OK on food yesterday.  Didn't exercise - which kind of made me sad.  I will ride bike after church today.  I am looking forward to it!  My arms are a little sore from weights Monday night, but that might be expected.  Just a little sore - not bad.  It's cool here so the bike ride should be enjoyable.  I'd like to go at least 12-14 miles.  Hope there is time before dark - should be.

HRT update:  I wanted to report to anyone interested that i got my bloodwork results back and the hormone levels (as I suspected) are starting to drop-especially the testosterone.  It's been 3 months (on the 15th) and they told me to expect to get the pellets every three months. I discussed it with the doc and since I am not having any negative side effects and the last level of dosages just recently began to drop to where I can tell it.  I will probably have the same dosages this next time.  So I scheduled another "pellet" procedure on Monday the 19th. It's a bit inconvenient because the site is tender for a 7-10 days you are not supposed to sweat (exercise) for 3-4 days.  I do believe they have made a BIG difference for the better, though so I'm not sorry yet that I had it.

Its great to hear you that you missed your exercise. Just a few months ago, you were struggling with staying motivated to exercise. Im so happy that you found an activity that brings you so much joy and peace. :)

It rained last night so couldn't ride bike, but my friend and I worked on the ET and some weights and I let her "check out" the Turbo Jam dvds to see if she might like them for raining or cold weather.  We did OK.

 I had my professional association meeting this morning and lunch there.  I ate fine-not too many calories.  Had two squares of darl chili chocolate after an appointment on way back to the office.

Tonight I am going to dinner and a movie with my friend, Carol.  We are going to see The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel  - should be good.

UPDATE:  The movie was good, but it was a PERFECT night to ride bikes, so I was emotionally conflicted the whole night.  I don't feel really great about food today, but I think it's my lack of exercise for the most part.  My throat is getting sore again and lots of drainage.  

There is a lot of stuff going on at work for the next couple of days, so better get a good nights sleep and try to make the most of it.

Have fun at the movie! I need to get some chili chocolate to try. Annie was talking about it. I found some at World Market, but the cacao value wasn't high enough to make it legal for me. We rode last night but the humidity was just so heavy you felt like you were breathing through a wet paper towel. a hot wet paper towel... I know we are supposed to ride tonight, but I'm just not feeling it. I think I am sugar crashing from the stupid cinnamon roll I just had to have!

I missed the ride! I got home and was concerned about the winds but we decided to Ride anyway and as I put my clothes on, a big crash of thunder hit. It was still sunny and then the rain came - hard! And the sun was still shining! It rained for an hour and we saw a rainbow that ended in our neighbors front yard! I hope you enjoyed the movie. Oh, and the rain didn't cool it, just made it hotter and more humid. We are borrowing an Xbox kinect workout cd and we are going to try that tonight.

Thanks for your comments, everyone, even though I didn't do many comments this weekend, I will catch up on everyone's diary this week!

Yesterday is updated.  I rode a big bike ride yesterday.  Felt better than I thought I would.  The ride was VERY enjoyable. The temp was perfect as I rode early in the day - around 9:00.  I rode all the way over to my favorite grocery/cafe and had a berry coconut muffin before continuing on for about 13 more miles for a total of 23.5 miles.  I drank the recovery drink after I came home and it seemed to help as I had plenty of enrgy to drive to Cinncinnati and pick up MIL, go to the picnic at husband's cousin's house and drive home.  Got home around 8:30 and puttered around. Daughter and BF came in.  I watched Mad Men and went to bed.  

Today will work and ride bike with friend tonight.  I'd like to log some big miles this week if I can.  Clothes are fitting  well.  That's especially good news in light of all the picnic eating I have done.  Will have two more outtings - 15th of this month and 7th of July for a cookout and picnic with  husband's cousin and Uncle!  Fireworks at both!  

UPDATE:  Raining after work so didn't get to ride bike - did the ETand weights with my friend and we kind of walked through Turbo Jam to get her acquainted with BB dvds.  She seemed to like them, but was disappointed we didnt get to ride.  Me, too.

RE my hips, they didn't get wider so I think the extra half inch is from muscle in the back, which I'm very happy about! The Ethiopian I've had is usually meat or vegetarian stews, and they use a lot of carrots and collard greens. You eat with your hands, scooping up the stew with injera bread, which is a soft, spongy, fermented concoction. It's super tasty!

Glad you had a nice ride yesterday. I like to do the long rides with a break at a cafe! Good luck this week and keep that mileage up. We dropped back a little to accommodate my daughter and not discourage her. I think she will be able to increase and then extend time. I just wish we would not have to be in the upper 90's all the time. I am seriously considering BBL with my daughter so when it's that hot we can still work at something together. Got to go, work computers are shutting down....

Thanks for the comments & encouragement. You seem to be able to work through your fatigue & I guess I can too but doesn't it seem that there must be a reason for it. Altough maybe you have found your reason. I'm going to see if I can resist taking a nap & see if I sleep better. Also hoping that when I get home to the US that this will disappear.The sad thing is that my father was like this & had this problem until he died at the age of 92. he was always trying different things to "pep" him up. He had a truck full of over the counter pills that he tried.He was always napping- HELP- don't let this be me!! I'm older than you, by the way but I don't think this is an age-related issue, or at least not entirely.

Rested all day yesterday. Still feel kind of puny, but getting ready to go for a bike ride.  Well see how it goes.  At least a short one.  I'll come back and do a bit of laundry and get ready to go to the family picnic in northern KY.

UPDATE:  Rode 23.5 miles this morning.  WooHoo!  Came back drove to N KY and picked up MIL and took her to the family picnic-it was good to see all that side of the family (husband's side) and  food was good.  We stayed about 3 hours and headed home.  MIL rode back home with some cousins so that saved me about an hour on the return trip. 

Came home and crashed a bit around 8:30.  Going to watch the new episode of Mad Men and go to bed.  Husband is in Bismark, ND until Wed night.

Didn't update food for yesterday yet - it was OK - BUT.......I am still in Lexington, KY.  Have a sore throat and stopped up head!  Driving all the distance to Ohio won't be a good idea today.  The temp is only 47 degrees!  Going to 72 today.  Sunny and pretty.  One of the cycling shops in town is having an organized bike ride at 10:00 this morning and I may go to that, but I doubt it.  Will just try to get a short ride in sometime today if I feel better.  The jinx of the Little Miami Trail strikes again.  It is hard to believe it was 96 degrees last weekend and barely gonna make it in the 70s today.  Tomrrrow is supposed to be 78 but I have to go to the picnic, etc.

Yesterday is updated.  I walked 2 miles - taking a rest off the bike in anticipation of my trip on Saturday to "you know where".  I am planning a short ride with my friend tonight will take it really easy.  I will get up as early as I can tomorrow morning, after packing later tonight and head north to "the place".  

B:  Coffee, banana, 1 glazed donut (it's national donut day and our Board Pres brings them every meeting and I never eat them - but today I did!!!)

L:  Schlotzsky's original minus black olives, small piece of lemon pound cake for a co worker's birthday (too many sweets!!)

The Silver Comet Trail is awesome! The part I did was pretty flat and had lots of shade. I think you will enjoy it! And yay for getting Trader Joe's. Im still waiting for one to come to my part of Atlanta.

Yesterday is updated.  I rode right at 16 miles at over 16 mph.  The weather was perfect.  The temps dropped in upper 80s and the humidity was quite a bit lower.  Rain is predicted by mid-day moving on to strong t-storms this evening with the temp dropping.  .  Tomorrow it's only going to be 67 with continued storms !!  Hey - it's KY the weather can change several times a day! 

I am almost afraid to say this, but I have planned to drive to Ohio this weekend and ride the Little Miami Trail.  Some of you long-time members here will remember that I have planned this multiple times and something has happened everytime.  So I am reluctant to say anything!  More on that later.   

B:  1/2 banana and 2 scrambled eggs

L: Some eggplant and potato thing from Whole Foods, 4 tiny cookies from WF NO RAIN YET it is beautiful out - I want to be outside!

D:  Lentil Dal, hummus/sour cream sauce, 

S:  Hummus and pita chips 

Tonight I plan to ride my Buckhorn Drive route here in town - lots of hills an at least 16 miles.....Hold off rain!!! 

UPDATE:  I am going to Ohio this weekend for a cookout at one of husband's cousin's house.  Thought the cookout was on Saturday, and I'd ride "you know where" on Sunday, but cookout is on Sunday and I didn't want to burn myself out cycling Thursday night as I am planning a Friday night ride with friend so I walked 2 miles with husband and dogs.  I'll take it easy on bike ride Friday night and then drive up early Sat a.m. and do my ride.

That's a heck of a ride!!! I could only manage 12 miles yesterday because of the head wind and 2 weeks off didn't help either. I hope you get to your destination this weekend!! Yesterday is updated.  I  did a Zumba class instead of a bike ride.  It was a good workout.

B:  Banana and you guessed it - iced sf van coffee

L: 6" WW Tuna Sub 20 veggie straws

S:  14 almonds

S:  2 granola bars

D:  8 pita chips and hummus, 1/2 turkey and swiss sandwich (very thin cheese)

Rode 16 miles tonight in right at an hour - a little less!!.  The weather was perfect!!!  Much less humid, too!  My friend rode 12.  She purchased a sleeveless nike shirt and a pair of padded shorts!  I think she liked them.  I am so proud of her.  Next we'll get her to wear the darn helmet. Tomorrow I am going to either ride again or do more Zumba.  Depends on the weather.  I think it's going to be cooler again so probably ride.  I may have to resort to Zumba in the super hot times.

Thanks for the tips and support! My bike is fixed so I am sure we will try to ride tonight. I will have to look for those jelly beans AND get some gatorade. Yes, the humidity always lingers around 80-95% and that makes it feel so much hotter and muggier. I did manage to lose all but 1 pound of the vacation weight, but I am still 4 pounds short of this goal and then I need to lower it once more so the bike rides will be a must. I really don't think in this heat I will choose the walking. Yesterday hit 98 degrees. I'm glad you did a Zumba class - was it a disk or did you actually attend a class? I've been reading about that Brazilian Butt workout, but I am afraid that it may be too advanced for me. A lot of the reviews said it was hard to follow but it really worked so I am going to think about it in case I really can't ride in the hard summer heat. Have a great day!

Yay for Zumba! I think you would LOVES Brazil Butt^^ it's intense but the classes are short and to the point. That's what I like so much about it. And you would do great with the dancing parts that I stumble around with ;)
