Updated yesterday.  Didn't really exercise as I had B-12 shot late yesterday afternoon and it hurt very much - all OK today so that's good.  That  will probably be the last one I get since the hormones and supplements are supposed to kick in from here on out.

Father in Law came through surgery yesterday - was in quite a bit of pain last night, but on some major drugs and able to sleep.  Bless his heart!  Husband will probably come home tonight after checking on him today.  I have a very busy work week this week or I would go up and be with them.  Maybe this coming weekend if he's feeling better.

I hope to get a bike ride in this afternoon.  No reason I shouldn't be able to.  I am so behind on laundry - but let's see - bike ride vs laundry, hmmmmm.....no contest.  Everybody can just wear something that is already CLEAN, right?

B:  Breakfast on the Go - Almond mix 200 calories, iced coffee

L:  Kale with Jalapeno vinegar, few bites of slaw, few bites of corn, 3 fried Green tomatos - my favorite home-cooking joint - but ate very light - saved the leftovers for tonight or lunch tomorrow.....

Not really hungry...

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

grannyannie on 03/27/2012:
Hope your FIL's pain eases soon. Enjoy your bike ride. Much more fun than laundry!

thenewMLE on 03/27/2012:
How about bike ride AND laundry? Put the load on, ride for 1/2 hour while it washes and come back and go ride again while they dry!! I try to do a multitude of things during laundry because I hate it too!! I'm glad FIL came through surgery OK. I hope work won't be too stressful. Have a great day!

Kati on 03/27/2012:
wow, actually I am able to leave a comment! The site, or my PC, is acting strange all day. I have been unable to comment on any diaries... :( I hope everything goes well with your FIL and he recovers quickly. Have fun while biking! :)

legcramps on 03/27/2012:
So glad FIL is out of surgery and resting well! I know how stressful it can get when you know someone you care about is in pain!

Have a good day today Holly!

sweetpea1977 on 03/27/2012:
I hope your FIL has a speedy recovery.

I'd do a bike ride over house chores any day. Save laundry for cold rainy days, lol.

Umpqua on 03/27/2012:
Great news on your FIL's recovery. I would vote for bike ride too, although I like MLE's idea of riding while the laundry is on. I feel like I'm constantly doing laundry (every other day, that's pretty constant) and I have to multi-task or I would go insane! Have a good one :)

lolla on 03/27/2012:
Go biking for sure!!! I hope you FIL recovers well.

moogy on 03/27/2012:
Good news! I am so glad Holly, you have had enough worry in the past year:( Mmmmm it wouldn't take me much to decide either, I know that you love your riding so much. Plus that laundry will still be there when you get back, it always is!

V on 03/27/2012:
Thank goodness that your FIL is recovering well <3... Okay Holly, if you expect me to share Shaun T, you have to be willing to share Bobby Goren..Just sayin ;) LOL :P

Maria7 on 03/27/2012:
Yes...nothing wrong with wearing other things besides favs all the time. Take a break from the laundry. :-D It'll wait a day or 2. :-D

Hello all.  I have overeaten a bit all weekend, but I am not too worried about it- just a blip on the screen.  I didn't get a bike ride in all weekend - due to a multitude of events, but I will ride this week all I can after work.   Maybe some mornings before work - I was thinking I couls go for short rides early in the day....worth a try.  Although I didn't ride I did walk 2.5-3.0 miles Fri, Sat and Sun, so I was active.  Also did my kettlebell workout on Saturday and today.

I am feeling so much better than two weeks ago.  The hormone/vitamin therapy seems to be kicking in.  I will report more details at a later date.  I go back tomorrow afternoon for another B12 injection.  I like those.  Also beginnng this Thursday I will start on two thyroid replacments instead of one.  That should further support metabolism and energy!

The season premier (2 hours!) of Mad Men is tonight - finally!  I love that show.  I am psyched.

More later folks. Hope your weekends have been stellar.

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

V on 03/25/2012:
Hey Holly :) Great news that the treatments are working :) You know I have yet to watch Mad Men..What is it about??

moogy on 03/25/2012:
Enjoy your show holly:) Glad the treatment is taking effect:) Exercise as usual is exceptional:)

thenewMLE on 03/26/2012:
I'm glad you are feeling better!! I didn't ride this weekend either but it was because of the social schedule!! I wanted to leave everyone yesterday and just ride, but I knew my Mom would say that was rude! But the weather was pretty and my bike was calling me. I hope the thyroid adjustment brings more relief.

Yesterday is updated.  Due to it getting later after meeting with my girlfriend, I opted for a nice walk instead of bike ride last night.  Probably walked about 2-2.5 miles.  I hope to get the bike ride in tonight or tomorrow AND Sunday.  Our weatherman is predicting rain for most of the weekend and we are having company Sat and taking mom to dinner Sun.  But I can probably ride in between the drops if it rains and in between cleaning  the house.

B:  1 LF WG frozen waffle,

L:  Subway again - I told you we are out of leftovers and food for the most part at home!  6" tuna on wheat with lettuce, tomatos, banana peppers, sun chips, water

V on 03/23/2012:
Good Morning :) I hope the rain doesn't interfere with your plans..Have a great weekend!

thenewMLE on 03/23/2012:
I hope you get your ride in!! We have been having stormy rain for the last 3 days. Roads are flooding and it was a challenge to get to work this morning. Come on over and get some crawfish! I would love to have company!! My hubby boils the best crawfish and he does the little red potatoes, corn, and garlic too. I like making crawfish omelets and crawfish biscuits with the left overs. And the crawfish is straight up protein for me. I will leave the corn alone and red potatoes are admissible on SugarBusters! but I will limit them. I also bought whole grain crackers and will have just a few of those. My biggest issue will be fluid retention because of the high sodium. But that's OK because I know that is temporary. Hope you have a nice weekend and seriously if you ever find yourself in the New Orleans area YOU HAVE TO COME BY!!

supercheese on 03/23/2012:
good morning!!! Sounds like we are all getting rain. Enjoy your weekend and try to stay dry!!

grannyannie on 03/23/2012:
Hope the rain holds off and you can ride your bike. I'll be on my bike outdoors very soon. Enjoy your weekend!

Updated yesterday to show 3 mile hike in the park with husband, friend Carol and dogs.  I didn't get the air in the bike tires, but I will do that tonight before I take off on my ride tonight.   I hope the weather cooperates.  We have had mild thunderstorms all night.  I hope to ride between 12 and 16 miles tonight.  That is a good training distance for my 23 or 38 mile ride next month.

Today so far:

B:  1 Frozen  LF WG Waffle w Peach Jam, 1 "fried" egg, Tea

I will probably have Tuna for lunch - either homemade or from Subway and fruit, etc.

We are about out of leftovers - so it's time to cook soon!

L:  Subway BMT with no dressings, sun chips and a diet coke (I broke over and had one) felt very satisfied after lunch - all afternoon

S:  scone!!!

D:  Small bowl of the homemade vegetable soup

S:  orange

My friend called and wanted to get together at Panera.  I had a scone, it wasn't that good.  But I ate it all, anyway.  So had very light dinner.

Got home too late and tired to ride the bike and it looks like rain, still - so going for a walk with husband - we'll do 2 miles or so with dogs tonight - threatening skies.

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

supercheese on 03/22/2012:
Have fun today holly!! Hope it doesnt rain for you!

grannyannie on 03/22/2012:
Good job on the hike.

When I first arrived here to get married I was unfamiliar with the area. My then 'fiance' asked if I'd like to go for a drive 'around the block'. Was amazed! A lot of it is through an uninhabited and stunning landscape. I'll take pics when we go. 'Around the block' is an ongoing joke, especially when we get visitors we've never had.

Umpqua on 03/22/2012:
Yay for a hike! I'm hoping I can get my friend to do one this weekend, or at least some walking. Have a good one and an excellent ride later!

liza36 on 03/22/2012:
Good luck on your bike ride, and yay for the hike.

Thanks so much for your comments yesterday. I was really down in the dumps and I truly appreciate your support! It means a lot. Today will be better for sure.

sweetpea1977 on 03/22/2012:
yay for hiking! I am looking forward to a lot of hikes this spring and summer!

We're getting thunderstorms for the next 3 days. Im happy the pollen will be washed away, but Im kinda sad that that the sun will be hiding. I have been truly enjoying this beautiful weather!

thenewMLE on 03/22/2012:
We have been alternating biking and walking (we have no where to hike because we have NO hills at all!!) during the week, but we are in for 3 days of rain so I am playing with the weights a little. Glad you got the hike and I knew it wouldn't be long before you were geared up for your distance riding! 12-16 miles is a lot!!! Congrats!

Maria7 on 03/22/2012:

Updated yesterday's post to include a 16 mile bike ride, people!   I rode as fast as I possibly could and my speed was pretty darn good, I think.  It's hard to tell with certainty with all the stop signs (many, many), stop lights (not too many lights on this particular ride) and delays, but I did 16 miles in 1 hour and 10 minutes which would be 13.7 mph - less all the stop signs, etc.  so about 14 mph with all those HILLS, no too bad.  At times I was going 23+ mph (downhill) and at times 5-6 mph (uphill) so that makes sense.  The BEST part is - my BUM is not sore!  And neither is the rest of me - other than what you would expect from a fairly long ride.  I am going to put air in the tires, adjust the saddle (again!) SLIGHTLY and walk only tonight.  Give it a rest to make sure I don't get saddle sore and ride again tomorrow night.  I hope I can keep training for the Redbud Ride on 4/21.  We will see.....

Oh, guess what???  I SLEPT 8 hours last night!

B:  1 Frozen Whole Grain LF Waffle with peach jam, little bit of coffee, 1 "fried" egg

L:  Probably vegetable soup again, apple and orange

D: Turkey Meatloaf, 1/2 heatlhy muffin made by daughter

Walked 3 miles with husband dogs and my friend, Carol!

No saddle soreness - YAY!

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

Kati on 03/21/2012:
yeeee! Did you sweat a lot? Did you receive a speeding ticket? hehehe.... :)

Umpqua on 03/21/2012:

sweetpea1977 on 03/21/2012:
wow, 16 miles, that fantastic!! Yay for a sore-free BUM!! Congrats on good sleep too!

grannyannie on 03/21/2012:
Good job on the bike!! Good for you on getting solid sleep as well!

thenewMLE on 03/21/2012:
You go girl!!! I knew you would be back on your bike soon! That's some fast riding!! And you slept - double yeah!! I stopped coughing last night but woke up from 12:30 - 2:30 just thinking about nothing. Very frustrating...I got to a point the other day where I had a small decline that I couldn't peddle any faster even in my highest gear - that was a freaking feeling so I just enjoyed the coasting! We can't walk or bike tonight or maybe even tomorrow because of the storms. I will do some exercises and play with the ankle and wrist weights. Have a great day!

Updated yesterday.  I am happy to report I went for a 2 mile hike with husband and doggies in the park woods near our house.

Today so far:

B:  1 frozen LF Whole grain Waffle w jam, one "fried" egg, coffee

L:  Vegetable soup, 1/2 apple, orange

S:  8 Peanut M & Ms  :o)

UPDATE:  Rode my Biiiiiiiikkkkkke!  Yippee!  16 miles in traffic and lots of uphills, stop signs and rude drivers, one stop to ask directions because I made a wrong turn.  Lady was chatty......took 1 hour and 10 minutes which means I am probably averaging 14-15 mph which is a B ride!!   Nanananananan!  I think my BUM will be OK.  But seat needs to come down in the nose just a tiny bit.

Gonna grab a shower and a bite to eat.....

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

I finally posted yesterday, very late.  Check it out if you are interested.  Today I got up early-6:00 a,m, after actually sleeping "almost" though the night.  Feel pretty rested today.  I went for a 2.5 mile walk with husband and dogs first thing, came back and had iced coffee and 2 eggs.  Going to go get pansies and batteries for the solar landscape lights out front and back.  Some of them aren't getting light anymore.  Also going to General Dollar (one of my favorite places for cleaning supplies, etc.) to look for a new trash can for kitchen pantry - the old one's lip lost a little post (it broke off) and will have to be replaced.    Exciting day, right?

Planning on an 8 mile bike ride later.  Gotta keep the old keester in shape!!  LOL

B:  Iced vanilla coffee, 2 eggs short piece of sourdough baguette w bit of butter

L:  Stuffed turkey meatloaf  carrots, tea

I said I would share the recipe - here it is:   http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/aaron-mccargo-jr/stuffed-turkey-meatloaf-recipe/index.html

I used the leaner ground turkey. I put in a little less milk and put 1/2 the tomato sauce inside the meatloaf along with some garlic powder and some hot sauce!!  Also used a very large onion and a BIG jalepeno pepper. And I didn't put in the chicken stock, either.  Improvise  on it yourself and tell me what you did.  It's a fun recipe.  Be aware the meat mixture is quite a bit "soupy", but it bakes up very well.

S;  Smoothie

D:  little bit of pimento cheese and 8 pita chips

Progress as of today: 13.6 lbs lost so far, only 14.4 lbs to go!

V on 03/18/2012:
Oh my!! That looks deeelish :P thanks Holly, def gonna try this recipe out!!
