OK I am in better spirits today.  I have ate breakfast early and have been working the laudry room doing a couple of loads and putting everything that builds up on the dryer and the hanging racks away.  I am dressed and I am going downstairs to exercise.  I will report back soon!

B:  3 small buckwheat pancakes and maple syrup, 1 egg, tea 500ish 

Calorie goal today is 1500-1600


25 minutes on the elliptical trainer - Sprint 8 program- 200 calories,burned 1.75 miles "covered" and average of 150 heart rate

10 minutes upper body weights

5 minutes on inversion table


L:  small piece chick pot pie and 1/2 grapefruit, tea  400(?)

D:  Pizza 2 slices of medium, few bites of a small salad  600

Yesterday is updated and calories were good again.  I am happy for that.  But as good as my intentions were to exercise - go to Zumba - I just couldn't do it.  I hadn't mentioned it, but a customer/friend's husband - age 59 passed away Monday and I went to the visitation at the funeral home.  I had to do it, but apparently it just zapped the fire right out of me.  My friend is so sad and their three daughters, 20, 22 & 24.  I just sat on the couch and the time passed by.  I have to get out of this funk-I can't use all this as an excuse.  I would say someone needs to slap me up-side the head, but there would probably be too many volunteers!

B:  3/4 scone and egg and tea 365   

L:  Small chili and  small oriental chicken salad at Applebees - 550

915 already - I will go easy tonight.

D:  8 crackers and pimento cheese, small piece of chick pot pie - home-made by me - yum 500

S:  Granola bar 140

1555 good calorie count - no exercise

How sad for your friend. 59 is too young (my age). Understandable that you didn't have the energy for zumba.

Sorry about your friend. It's okay to take a day off, but if that won't make you feel better, get a friend to go with you. Zumba is a really fun thing to do with a friend and when we make plans with others, we don't really bail as we do when we go alone! Feel better! xoxo

I'm sorry for your friends loss. Not a surprise that it would hit you so hard after so recently the death of your father. I enjoy the Zumba when I have a chance to do it..it's the exercise I smile during because I have two left feet LOL take care of yourself! Have a great weekend!

Updated yesterday - good calories and I think I am barely beginning to feel a little lighter in my clothes.  I did the streching and breathing exercises again.  Tonight I am thinking of trying a 7:00 Zumba class - with an instructor I like in a new place that is close to my house and only $5.  I pray I will have enough energy at 7:00. 

B:  3/4  Scone and tea - missed the protein bc I was in a hurry!  300

L:  Favorite lunch at same restaurant as Monday - diff location and diff friend!  400(?) for Grilled Salmon, rice and this time it was green beans - all healthy

S:  Apple 65

Subtotal 765

S:  5 wheatables and pimento cheese 200

D:  baked chicken and corn - should have had another green vegetable - :o(  400

1365 calories and no exercise. :o(

Yeah to feeling lighter! Hope you make the zumba class. I've never tried it, but it looks like fun.

RYC: thanks. I think working out 5 or 6 days a week helped as well. :-) You CAN do it. If I can, anyone can.

Updated yesterday.  I did do 20 minutes of stretching and breathing exercises last night.  It seemed to open up my energy.  I feel so "repressed" if that makes any sense. 

B:  Scrambled egg, toast with jam 250

L:  Chicken Thigh - Fried (ugh, but it wasn't my choice) and glazed carrots - Upside - I am not hungry and I resisted CHOCOLATE!  for now, anyway!  400(?)

S:  Will have apple later  65 

S:  Granola Bar 140

D:  8 wheatables and 1/4 pimento cheese 400

1190 Calories and more streching and breathing

I just started to do the 'belly breathing' again..I learned there is a lymph node behind the diaphragm that is stimulated when we belly breathe instead of chest inflation only. Who knew? Thinking of and praying for you and your momma. Have a great day!

Thanks for the comment pointers honey! Sorry about your loss. Sugar has been found to really be the culprit of a lot of empty calories and blocking of fat burning. I read a lot over at howtothinkthin.com and they really feel that eliminating sugar is the best detox. I have been addicted to sugar my entire life. I love chocolate and candies and dessert is better than the main course to me! I also love breads. I know I can do this, I just need some encouragement. Good luck in your quest also! I look forward to following your progress.

Updated yesterday - A trip to Orange Leaf after lunch and some choc chips in the evening kind of put me in Sugar Land, again.  Believe it our not this IS a cut back from what I have been having!  Slowly but surely!  I'll get control of it all again.  Still no exercise.  My MENTAL state is not helping me on that - I have to change how I am thinking!  No more softness of myself  -  cutting myself a break.  Time for that has passed.  

B:  1 piece WW toast and 1 scrambled egg 250

I brought left over corned beef and cabbage and some potato casserole for lunch, also an apple and orange to choose from.....

L:  Corned Beef, potato casserole and cabbage 350(?)

S:  Apple 65

Subtotal:  665

D:  Peanut butter and honey sandwich 500 - the bread was high cal and dense

1165 calories and stretching and breathing exercvises - it did  open up my energy a little bit.

Sorry didn't post all weekend, but was very busy.  Did OK on the weekend.  Walked 2.5 miles on Saturday with the dogs in the FREEXING cold weather.  Then took them to the Dog Park to play with other doggies.  They had a good time and so did Mark and I.

Cleaned house and did the floors yesterday.  Had in-laws and mom over for dinner - daughter and her BF came, as well.  Corned Beef and Cabbage, potato casserole, fruit salad and rolls.  No dessert.

B:  Two small natural wheat bread pieces of toast with jam, tea  300

Going to eat at a restaurant with a colleague at lunch today - but I can have a healthy lunch - salmon and broccoli and a tiny bit of rice.....yum No bread..

L:  Salmon, rice, carrots (instead of broccoli) 400?

S:  Orange Leaf froz yogurt 400!!!!!

D:  Tiny bit of corned beef and a granola bar 200

S: Choc chips - I gotta get off the sugar! 200

1500 cals

Prize was a muscle pain in the butt :) Seriously, no such were given, it was just an adventure, "just for the fun of it". :) Though we paid some cash (7 euros/person), so they should have given us something. And we were few: 3 groups (2 persons each). The first group was awfully competitive - they were marching like troops, looking constantly on the GPS device. We (and the 3rd group) on the other hand, stopped to enjoy the view, the sunshine and get a breath. :)

Supposed to go to Mom's for dinner tonight - I think the weather has leveled off.

Some days we gotta do what we gotta do!! Be careful out there Hollly:) I think that regarding the type of food, you need to give yourself a little time to go through your emotional needs before you have the energy to ramp up the focus on nutritious food. It takes time Holly:)

Gingerbread in a wood oven sounds DIVINE! I really like the recipe I posted because it's got a strong ginger taste and the brown sugar adds a great flavor, without the sweetness of white sugar. Have a great weekend!

1530 calories

Awesome that you have had the nice outings! I am a winter nester as well, I LOVE to deep clean the house in winter. Not being able to open the windows for a breeze makes me 'crave' the smells of cleaning LOL.

Your calories were still really low. Just saw your update that you had crab legs for dinner, I LOVE those and haven't had them in years. Hubby has slowly been coming around to shellfish so maybe I can persuade him one of these days :) My parents also get the much smaller but equally tasty dungeoness (sp?) crab since it's local to their coast.

Had a nice time with friend Joe last night - see the updated menu for the grand total calories - I think around 1300.

Today has been very high calorie day

B:  toast with jam and 1 scrambled egg and tea 210

L:  hamburger and diet coke 500

S:  4 butter cookies 300

subtotal - 1010

D:  small Spaghetti and meat sauce (leftovers) 300?

Not surprisingly I was not very hungry after that high cal day so I ended up ini a good calorie range, although not very healthy foods.

Updated yesterday.  I have professional association luncheon today.  I hope the dessert is something I don't like.  I will do more exercise today, but the lst floor of the house needs attention....so I hope I can work it in.

-will update menus as day goes on.

B:  Power Crunch Bar and Tea 200

L:  small salad no dressing, pork roast with drizzle of gravey (sm portion), grilled vegetables, wild rice - I was pleased as this was all healthy stuff.  The dessert - which I did LIKE and ate-was a mini-size serving of bread pudding with raisins and pecans. So not too bad.  I'd say  400 Calories of delicious and mostly health stuff.

So 600 calories mid-day.

Now husband has presented a challenge for tonight - dinner out with a friend - so, we'll see how that goes. I CAN make healthy choices most anywhere we go..

D:  King Crab Legs - splurge on these about once every two years!  They were good.  2 biscuits, water  I have no idea on calories, but with the drawn butter I used on about 1/2 the bites I'd guess around 200 for the biscuits and about 500 for the crab so around 700 for the meal???

around 1300 for the day

I'd rather do my workouts than housework, although some of it I don't mind. Two of the ladies going with us are much bigger than me and the other one I've never met. Not very good chance one of her suits would fit me - she's a young newlywed so may not need that extra support yet! I will be going into Glasgow to shop for bras soon so I'll look around and see if there are any swimsuits out yet.

Not always in search of the prince on the white horse like taylor swift, lol... :) I loved the "I'll be", the video made me cry and I don't even have kids.

Nice lunch! You know what they say - we can eat anything as long as we control the portion size! Thanks for your advice & yes... I do know that is trying to sabatoge me. She thought she had me talked out of joining & tried to get me mad at my neighbors that did join. The thing that really bothers me about the wake up call is that I don't get up until 7:30am, but she wants me to wake her up at 7....
