Baby girl Is better but still not out of the woods-took her back to the doc today and have to go back tomorrow.  Although she is keeping food down now she has lost 3 lbs in about 3 days and they are very concerned with that - she only weighed 25 lbs and 3 lbs off that is more than 10% of her body weight. So they said she didn't have to into the hospital for IVs today, but if she goes backwards they may still admit her to feed her.  

Food today has been:

Banana, yogurt, 1/2 PB

1/2 grilled cheese sandwich cup of chicken tortilla soup  

for dinner I am having:

baked chicken - mediterranean salad and cauliflower

I don't think I'll get a walk in because it is raining cats and dogs, but I may do 20 minutes of dancing or elliptical.  I am really tired tonight - almost fell asleep proofing a spreadsheet with my coworker.

Food today - Banana,.salad with chicken,  yogurt, bowl of cereal and 1/2 banana. 

Didn't eat a lot today.  I went to daughter's house after work to give her a break.  The baby girl is very sick.  She has stomach bug and went to the doc - going back tomorrow.  I gave she and son in law a break because they needed to get out of the house a little bit.  Today is their 3rd anniversary.   Cleaned their kitchen as anniversary present!  Ha!  Baby was pitiful.  She was eating a little when I left - I have no idea if she was able to keep it down or not.  They have all been sick over a two week period.  I hate that.

Not much happened at work today - boss was calmer, we'll see what happens.

Some how I keep deleting my posts!    Here goes again!  Today was a very interesting day -  my boss told me -in confidence - that she is ready to quit/retire.  She has had it and is ready to go.  She may turn in her resignation the end of the week.  If she goes I go.  I was leaving in May or June, anyway, but it might be sooner now.  I have talked it over with husband and he said stay as long as I can, but if I have to get out - leave.  My boss told me not to leave because of her and I told her she was the only reason I was staying.  We will be OK financially, we don't live beyond our means, but I am nervous because I have always worked and I'd like to sock more retirement money away.  My mother will be thrilled if I quit work - she has wanted me to stop for a year!  I don't think I will get a job offer out of the interview I had yesterday.   

I ate more today than yesterday - I had a waffle, two slices of bacon, 1 scrambled egg and 1/2 a PBJ on oat bread.  For dinner we will have fish, peas and a few potato crowns. 

We walked 2.25 miles tonight with the dogs - pretty fast pace tonight.

I think you will be ok considering May / June really is quite close. And you are even planning on possibly working somewhere else. Take your much needed rest. You can always work part time somewhere possibly after taking some time off to rejuvenate.

Thanks, HOP. You're right. I am at peace, mostly, with whatever happens. I am just trying to stay motivated and do the best I can every day at work and leave it up to God to steer my path at this point.

Well, day and interview behind me.  Day was so - so and the interview was, too.  My "friend" was in the interview with me, but the man we met with was difficult to talk to.  He isn't directly involved in our industry and a lot of my good comments were over his head.  My friend "got it" though. No big deal either way - they don't know what position they are going to fill.  They could go several ways and jockey their staff around accordingly.  Thinking it over - I don't know that I would accept any position, anyway.  Prior to beginning to talk with my friend about the job I was planning to quit work in May or June and take a break, look for part-time work.  So I am not really sure what I am doing talking about another job!  Weird, huh?

I have been keyed up today and needed to leave my job at 2:00 today in order to get to the interview.  So I didn't eat anything at all until dinner - just now.  I ate left over corned beef, cabbage, carrots.  I will probably have a roll or some toast after while and go for a walk - call it good and go to bed.  Exciting, right?  Ha!

Big week behind me.  Another Symposium event in the books on Thursday - I still have paperwork to do - entering all the CE hours on line for around 250 participants. But other than that - it's over!  I typed an entry on my diary Friday night, but accidentally deleted it!  So trying again tonight. One thing that came out of the Symposium is I have a job interview Monday at 3:00.  Interesting.....A colleague from previous job works at a different agency now and invited me to sit with her at their table at the Symposium.  She said they have an opening and it might be a good place for me.  As I posted previously - I am planning to leave my current job in June anyway and was planning on taking some time off and looking for part-time work somewhere.  But I may be interested in this job-if they even offer it to me!  I have a friend who works there already and after sitting with the other people at the table - they at least seemed nice.  Either way - I am still leaving my current job soon.  I dread going in every day.  Trying to make the best of it for a while longer.  I am not sure what the job really is - I got the impression they are moving their staff around and are kind of flexible regarding what they need.  Also, I don't know if they can pay me what (or close to) what I make now.  I will not work full-time for a pay cut.  The hours are slightly better - leave at 4:30 most days instead of 5:00.  Better commute and better neighborhood where office is - prime real estate. 

Anyway - this week has been somewhat better on eating but still only the one walk on Monday.  I may be able to get another in tomorrow as the weather is supposed to be good.  I must clean house and get ready for the work week.  I am going to stick with my same plan of doing the best I can on food and exercise without setting any strict goals. I just can't put pressure on myself right now.  

I was able to meet with a friend from high school today.  I haven't seen her for probably 35 years.  She lives in TX and we had lost touch, but have reconnected on FB.  She was in KY for a funeral, unfortunately, but decided to drive 4 hours in the opposite direction to visit our old hometown and me.  

I also babysat the baby girl today - she is such a hoot.  Very entertaining!!!

small serving salmon, 10 cashews, 3 strawberries

I will eat some a little later.  I went for a mile and a half walk - fast - with dogs and husband!!!!  I did very well, especially considering the length of my recent inactivity and lifestyle!!!!

Food yesterday was "OK".  The rest of the day was:

Chicken Salad and 8 crackers

1/2 C  of Chicken Florentine and a small salad

carrots and hummus

a couple of crackers with peanut butter

Babysat with Rosalie from 6:00 to 10:15.  She is so precious - I cherish the time with her. She's 2 years - 4 months old.  It was nice yesterday, but too cool to take her to the park.  

Today so far:

Grilled cheese sandwich on sourdough with Havarti cheese - very thin slice and no butter on the bread.

Going to finish cleaning up the house and go for a walk today! 

Update:  Took both big old dogs to the dog wash for a bath.  Very physical work.  Husband washed the lab and I did the collie. The collie is much more work.  They look and SMELL nice now!  Then took car to the car wash.  They did a good day and I get a "Senior" discount there - so it was a real bargain.  Returned an item to Walmart - bought some groceries there, too.  I don't like to grocery shop there, but picked a few basics just the same. 

Additional food:  A taco and 4 shortbread girl scout cookies.  Going out for dinner with daughter, son in law and granddaughter.

Yesterday I didn't post - too tired and stayed out late - shopping and dinner with husband.  Foods were very unhealthy - but not as bad as it could have been.

No breakfast at all - tea!  What was I thinking?

Sonic Hot Dog - New York Dog - didn't eat it all - I had 15 minutes for lunch

2/.3 of a cheese burger and about 10 very thin fries

OMG - unhealthy stuff, but that is really all I ate!

Today so far:

Nature's Path Maple Crunch cereal and 1/2 banana and 1/4 c of blueberries

I scored some bargains at Dillard's big sale - short boots Louise et Cie brand - original $189 for $42.00! Calvin Klein cowl neck distressed blue big shirt originally $55 for $17, Wine colored poncho style sweater with wooden buttons - Not sure of brand right now - original $59 for  $20. Two pair of costume earrings - $10.

Being lazy/resting today - it's warming up - I am going for a walk.

Update:  Didn't get the walk in - yet - but I did laundry, cleaned up the bedroom, and did the wood floors.  Dusted blinds all over the house.  Still need to do tomorrow - dust the rest of the house (furniture), pick up and throw away in general and clean three bathrooms.

Yesterday was not so good on food - ate too many sweets - food for yesterday:

Banana, Kind Bar, salad, peanut butter covered grahams, 3 leftover potato skins, small piece of chocolate

I am seeing - to no surprise - that if I will substitute healthier things for the sweets I will be doing better.  I will shoot for doing what I used to do- always keep something healthy available so that I don't choose the sweets.  I will usually choose the healthier option if it's around.  Going to get more proactive.

I will post food for today later.  Have a dinner at friends house with church group tonight.  It will be a healthy dinner - so not much temptation - I think. 

Food today:  Banana, 2 crackers and PB, Subway sandwich, vegetable soup, sm salad, raw vegetables and hummus, 3 choc covered peanuts.

Was so busy at work almost didn't get lunch, but there is a subway next door.  The sub I get is 410 cals.and I don't need chips!  Didn't get them. I love being busy at work because the time goes so fast.  Luckily that is not a prpblem with this job.  Did better on the sweets today.  Onward and upward!  The weekend is supposed to be beautiful weather wise-this week has been nasty-ish.  So I will welcome nice weather and get some exercise. Nothing impressive, but a start.  Also must clean house - what a mess since I was ill and so busy this week!  Lots to do!

Having healthy food on hand is my ONLY way :) another trick I've recently included for myself is that I've stopped buying my favorite veggie chips.

Husband is out of town til Thurs night. Thought it would be a good time for me to eat well.But made plans to go to dinner with friends. Didn't do badly last night and will do ok tonight. Running to Mom's to put gas in her car :-). So far today Banana, yogurt & blueberries, vegetable soup, kettle corn for a treat, 6 crackers and peanut butter.  It's not as bad when I write it down as I thought  I am planning on having salad tonight - but who know....more later.

Salad for dinner as planned.

Yeah...you are doing well with your eats. And enjoy your freedom for a few days from hubby. I would like it, if I had a hubby living with me, to have a few days freedom lol. Enjoy going out to eat - you can still be healthy. but, thinking back to myself now, usually, when I do go out to eat, it's more calories than my meals at home sometimes. but still healthy.
