Like BCGG, i got up and motivated to clean up. So i cleaned the Guniea Pig cage and a little bit in the hamster cage. Then, I started some laundry.  It will all be done by 10am :)

Later, I have therapy at 1:15pm and i think i may leave my apt earlier, if possible, to see about volunteering as a dog walker at a shelter located close to the therapy location (i may wait a couple weeks on this still...)

also, it's the best deal of the year for candles at bath and body works so even though i have been using some of my savings since i have been out of work, i'm taking advantage of the day and will stop there late this morning to buy 2-3 candles since i like to use them in my apt here and there...i make good use of them.

Progress as of today: 2 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

BearCountryGG on 12/07/2019:
Great start to the day HOP........What a great idea the dog walking is....dogs are so loving and rewarding to work with and a good opportunity for you to get some walking in.....I swear petting a dog ( a friendly one)lowers blood pressure. Have a great day!!

horn_of_plenty on 12/08/2019:
Tomorrow I go for dog walking training :)

Happy Friday! I replied to your comment on my diary yesterday, and also concerned on your entry yesterday. I seem to be a day behind, lol...

Horn_Of_Plenty on 12/06/2019:
i have done LASER hair removal profresionally for underarms and bikini area - it worked very well and hair was totally gone for several years and now is just light regrowth that's easy to shave. i was pretty happy with the results, did go back for touchups here and there bc hair does come back (a little only) after several years. it works and i was happy. i used GROUPONS and deals, never had to pay full price.

i am hoping i can use this device on my arms and legs at home to lesson my hair, we'll see if it works.

BearCountryGG on 12/06/2019:
I'm into clementines today too! They seem really nice this winter.

Horn_of_plenty on 12/06/2019:
yes and i also love they are easy to eat and buy in bulk.

happy-1 on 12/06/2019:
Love clementines. Good job on the extra mile!

Horn_of_plenty on 12/07/2019:

Horn_Of_Plenty on 12/05/2019:
SO GOOD. and it's a bit spicy which i like bc the spices fill me up.

BearCountryGG on 12/05/2019:
How do you like the home laser thing????

Horn_Of_Plenty on 12/05/2019:
i have to try it more...only used it one week, need to use it like 3 months i think...and i skipped already when i should have done it this week...i'll tell you in 3 months. it was $200. bought it in summer, to use now since you cannot be in the sun in the areas you use it (arms/legs is what i'm doing)

Horn_Of_Plenty on 12/05/2019:
The company is HENA...we'll see if it works....would be SO NICE for summer.

i have to use it the first month 2x a week...then a month of 1x per week....then every other week...then as needed.

BearCountryGG on 12/05/2019:
Interesting.....I've looked at them online before...does it hurt?

Horn_Of_Plenty on 12/05/2019:
only a little.

Donkey on 12/06/2019:
I've been wanting to ask you about this topic (hair removal) for about a week, since you know a lot of ladies, but I was so unsure of how to speak this subject. Then you post this! I think we might be psychically connected!

I'd be interested in your results. Also, do you have friends who have had professional electrolysis done?

Horn_Of_Plenty on 12/06/2019:
MY MOM once did electrolysis on her upper lip...that's hair by hair follicle i believe one at a time!

happy-1 on 12/07/2019:
Ooooh I want one!!!!! One of these days. Sooooo tired of shaving.

Horn_of_plenty on 12/07/2019:
i'll let you know if it's any good ....i have to use it for at least 2 months, it's been 1 week.

Horn_Of_Plenty on 12/05/2019:
yeah, i am in the NYC area and also Queens which i think has the biggest melting pot in the world in it !

Usually i don't order curries because the sauce is high in calories, but, this was good and a good change of pace.

Donkey on 12/05/2019:
I'm quite happy to hear that your coworkers have been supportive upon your return. That says a lot :-)

Horn_Of_Plenty on 12/05/2019:
Yes, you are right. I am really, really lucky. It's a great group of people here. Very different office than previously. (now i'm in nyc and before i was in queens - same company.

Weight: 110.0

exercise: AM - pushups;  4:30pm upper body; evening - bike half hour i think! :) (that's what happens when i have the day practically free!)

 Kombucha and a candy 100

11:45 brunch Starbucks light sandwich 250, coffee 100

1pm gummies (SO SOFT and a berry sweet flavor, really good - never tried the "imitation swedish fish" which probably are sweeter and tastier than the real deal and only 80 cals!!!) and massive plum (like the size of a guy's fist if he's like 6'5") 200 total.

4pm snack before exercise: air corn cops - cheddar jalepeno flavor for the BANGING taste i needed!  150

1850...total after Thai dinner

going out to dinner tonight, so watching cals....also, was a busy morning, so breakfast became lunch and that's fine with me!

_______________

9:45-11:30am went to intake therapy  (lots of forms to fill out, again!) appt and then post office (right across the street to return my friend's package for him since it was for me, spray makeup, didn't want it as it's really not my thing - he got it to cover scars but i can't see myself using it daily.)

11:45-12:15pm now having Starbucks at noon before driving home to donate clothes and stuffed animals

1:30-3:30pm I'm going to clean my oven inside today with vinegar solution and if I have time I'll also clean 1 or more of the drawers in my large desk (DID ENTIRE DESK) which are filled to the brim with things I both need and don't need. i threw a bunch of things out, still could have thrown out more....i figure in the Winter or Spring or both, i'll do another small donation of clothes i could stand to give away since my closets are STILL FULL!

Progress as of today: 2 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

happy-1 on 12/02/2019:
Good job! I can't get rid of one bag of stuffed animals that I kept hidden in my closet. They will think I don't love them anymore... Which is so the opposite of what I should do... pass them on to make another kid happy.

Horn_of_plenty on 12/02/2019:
well, they are yours and you should do whatever makes YOU happy!....i just have no room in this apartment and felt the need to de-clutter. I actually cleaned a desk and even my oven today!!!....def feeling the need to do things on my last day off from work....back to work tomorrow, weather permitting!!!!!!!

BearCountryGG on 12/02/2019:
Starbucks has really branched out haven't they? I didn't know they had sandwiches........no Starbucks around us now.....left that back in the city....boo hoo...we had a Bigbys coffee really close at one time...miss that too.

Horn_of_plenty on 12/02/2019:
yes, starbucks is EVERYWHERE here, especially on Long Island, where i was this morning.

they have light sandwiches like turkey bacon and egg on an english muffin...good stuff. i also like their light wrap with spinach and feta, also low cals. I wanted to eat before driving back to Queens as it was almost noon and i felt like i would be more productive back at home = truth, i was! And, i was also treating myself LOL.

legcramps on 12/02/2019:
You are so nice to donate your stuff, especially around this time of year :)

Horn_of_plenty on 12/02/2019:
i hope some of it gets used by somebody else! one article was a pajama, never used, tags on!

Donkey on 12/03/2019:
I love gummies!!!

When do you return to work? I'm watching the news coverage of your weather. Not fun for commuting!

Horn_Of_Plenty on 12/03/2019:
weather ended up not being too terrible :) i'm back to work today. these SMART SWEETS are awesome. really tasty. and i think there's something good about them ;)

MY LEG ROUTINE

1- Toe taps (when i remember) (just tapping toes in shoe, not moving the whole foot) and also - /

1A. toe raises aka calf raises (one is just a stretch, the taps and i don't always do them) toe rasies (going up on tippy toes and back down) strengthens the calf

2- a squat stretch that looks like this, but i raise my toes more and stretch onto my heels more, i like to do this after the toe raises:

https://gmb.io/squat/

3- Lunges, but in place where i always bring my leg back to standing position. i do each side like 10-12 reps and 3 sets each (takes awhile, good exercise)

4- Split squat (still working on my range with this and it's much harder than the lunge above for me), another type of lunge but i end on my kneecap area (i do it on a mat and don't press hard on the knee) ...it's a mix of squat / lunge. i do this in place also:

https://www.spotebi.com/exercise-guide/split-squat/

5- Squats, sometimes only with body weight and sometimes with 30-35 pound bars that i own

Each of the exercises above i like to try for 3 sets, with 10-12 reps each.

6- Ricky was showing me work for my hamstring, when i hold onto something in front of me and do a back kick to work my hamstring/butt like a ballerina, i sometimes forget it, but trying to remember to add this into my routine :)  :  (but without the band below)

https://www.outsideonline.com/2397255/best-resistance-bands-exercises-legs

_______________________________________

Things I want to do today / time pending:

- donate clothes and variety of stuffed animals

- buy door hooks from local hardware store so i can hang the coat i use all the time on the back of the door for easy access and not a mess in the closet :) Ricky's idea

- Leg Routine (above) and Abs routine since i didn't do it yesterday

- get on stationary bike if i have time

- organize fridge / cook bok choy ?

Progress as of today: 3 lbs lost so far, only -2 lbs to go!

BearCountryGG on 12/01/2019:
Good day for exercise...I plan some too...but not as dedicated as you are....your plans look good.....I'm moving furniture today so i hope I get to the get some exercise in also.

Horn_of_plenty on 12/01/2019:
moving furniture def counts as some exercise !!! :)

happy-1 on 12/01/2019:
Organized for fitness! Love it. Also good on you for donating old things so your parents don't have to.

Horn_of_plenty on 12/01/2019:
yeah, these things were actually at MY APARTMENT, not their house...and my mom WANTS the items...so maybe i'll save them for her lol. she likes to donate, not sure why because taxes are taxes and how much of a rebate can it be!?, but, since she wants them, i'll give her my bags of clothes. i see my mom tomorrow.

happy-1 on 12/01/2019:
And it was sweet of them to maintain your room like a time capsule!

horn_of_plenty on 12/02/2019:
The room with the stuffed animals and donated clothes is actually from my own apt !!!!! But yes my parents have a large house and had a room for me to sleep in? But it wasn’t my room but a guest room since the guest room has a shower and is More convenient than my original room in their house which is used by my sister when she brings her baby to sleep over when her hubby is away and she stays with our parents !!!!!

Donkey on 12/02/2019:
Your leg exercises seem all-encompassing and well-rounded. As long as you don't experience any pain and are motivated to do them, sounds like a good plan!

horn_of_plenty on 12/02/2019:
Ballet one is just done once in awhile and not a habit but the others I try to do 2x a week thanks you!

8am Baking this morning, didn't come out right bc i changed ingredients, but still tastes good so i may save it as an add-on to yogurt. it's supposed to be choc brownie but came out soft like mousse.

9am now off to call friend and ride on my stationary bike at the same time....

Progress as of today: 2 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

Donkey on 11/30/2019:
How about if you refrigerate your baked mousse to see if it solidifies a little? Personally, brownie or mousse, that wouldn't stop me as long as it tasted good. YUM!

Glad to hear you are using your bike. It's a great way just to stretch out the legs, move the hips.

I forget what you had planned for today - was it an Indian dance? Or a concert? (I thought the concert was last night... Oh my, my mind...)

horn_of_plenty on 11/30/2019:
Yes I had planned to go to a concert but my parents came over to visit so that’s what happened instead and that worked out well :-) now I will exercise a little and see rickys new tv that was delivered - maybe watch a movie! So Indian dance was skipped!

I’m still nervous with the pigs but it’s getting better :-)

horn_of_plenty on 11/30/2019:
It did solidly a little more and I froze some of it too.

horn_of_plenty on 11/30/2019:
Froze it to eat it at a later date !

BearCountryGG on 11/30/2019:
I agree with Donkey, ...chocolate is chocolate...liquid, solid or anywhere in between...it's good.

horn_of_plenty on 11/30/2019:
It is still good yes and I didn’t waste it or throw it out !!!!

happy-1 on 12/01/2019:
I would kill for a mousse or cheesecake right now.

Horn_of_plenty on 12/02/2019:
i have found so many different items that are low calories to make or buy lately of the cheese variety omg!

(counting calories/walking/elliptical/weights)
Weight: 111.0

Happy "Black Friday" day after Thanksgiving!

Kombucha 70 (pretty much the last of the really old bottles i had, never wasted any thankfully since these are expensive!)

Breakfast yogurt 150, oatmeal 170, blueberries 100, coffee 50 470

noon chocolate 50

1:30pm lunch of chips 150, veggies 100, cheesecake 150 and ice cream 150 (light styles) ....550

3:30 salami 100

5:30 dinner raspberries 120, crackers 150, wrap 120, lox 200. 600., later dark chocolate

1950 :)

Edit: adopted the 2 brothers for the price of 1 and got some accessories I purchased like a nail clipper / brush - but they won't be used for awhile until the piggies are more comfortable with me.

___________________________________________________

Today i hope to adopt 2 guinea pigs, depending how they act. otherwise, i will look into purchasing just one and not adopting the two that are brothers and 2 1/2 years old already - i was calling pet stores looking for long haired guinea pigs (which turn out to be very hard to find) and only one  Long Island pet store had a long haired  g. pig up for adoption but he has a brother. so i'd obviously / probably get both.....they are free. but,  it's double as expensive per month....but, i have to check them out today and then decide what to do...nice part is it's free to adopt, they are already 2.5 years old so i'd have them around 4.5-5 years instead of 7 which is fine...

Progress as of today: 3 lbs lost so far, only -2 lbs to go!

BearCountryGG on 11/29/2019:
They look so sweet!!!!

horn_of_plenty on 11/29/2019:
I’m getting used to them little by little and same for them !!!!!! I’m a little nervous about caring for them for 5 years but think I’ll be ok !!!!

happy-1 on 11/29/2019:
Aaaaaaaaaaw... Brothers staying together. Good job.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/29/2019:
thanks, i'm a little nervous about them...hoping they'll calm down and relax a bit...they are afraid to be picked up right now, so i'm taking it easy with them for right now..... :/

but, i'm trying to hold strong and not give them back to the pet store or anything like that!

happy-1 on 11/29/2019:
Returning a pet feels like you are giving up on a family member (says the woman who has confined the cat to her bedroom because he keeps pooping in the dining room)

horn_of_plenty on 11/30/2019:
I get you :)

BearCountryGG on 11/30/2019:
They have been through a lot....they will calm down when they figure out that you feed them. It takes awhile for them to feel safe. I would just pet them lightly while leaving them in the cage. They will settle down.

Horn_of_plenty on 11/30/2019:
i hope so....they are cute and right now my other pet, the hamster, is running in her wheel :)...they are settled more than the other time i tried to get guinea pigs, so that is good. they don't attempt to leave their cage, which is also good :) the cage top is off for now which is great bc it's easy for me to put the hay, pellets, and veggies in for them....i hope they settle in like a week :)

Donkey on 11/30/2019:
They are SO CUTE! I know you wanted a long-haired piggie, but I'm partial to short-haired ones. The colorings are so beautiful! I think with gradual, consistent, gentle care, they'll warm up to you and like to be handled/held :-)

Horn_of_plenty on 12/01/2019:
thanks...still getting used to them....i'm glad i didn't get longer hair, i hear they are VERY hard to take care of and clean up their "back ends"

Apologies if i've missed an update or if I am delving too far personally; do you still have your hamster? When you said you've been looking for a guinea pea, I just wondered if you still had your hamster :)

horn_of_plenty on 11/28/2019:
Hamster yes it’s only like 1 or 1 1/2 years old so it will prob live at least 6 months more .....

horn_of_plenty on 11/28/2019:
Hamster Never adjusted to like being held so I just take it out, hold it shortly and put it in a ball to run aroUnd - not a friendly hamster although it doesn’t bite :)

I used fruit in the morning to fill up and right now, I'm using carrot sticks to fill up before our dinner. (I'll also use salad and more fruit salad at dinner - but I **AM** having a piece of pie!)

I'd say that if Hammy doesn't bite, that alone is pretty friendly :-) You'll definitely have more luck with holding a Guinea pig - but get the one that's right for you, even if it means it doesn't happen for you tomorrow.

horn_of_plenty on 11/28/2019:
I miss there being no pumpkin pie this year - maybe next year!

Yes, I’m lucky hammy doesn’t bite and you just reminded me to take her out now in the ball!

I hope the guinea pig situation works tomorrow, we’ll see :-)
