biking would have been too rushed for me as well; i also ran an errand beforehand to supermarket. and then there was a chance of rain which is not good when riding bikes.
biking would have been better for my legs though. lately ankle is a bit rough...but it's ok...i'll be taking it easy tonight - did 20 min walk this AM and that may be it for today.
Ingredients 1 9-inch deep-dish pie crust, unbaked 1 1/2 cups water (that is one and a half cups) 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1 cup sugar 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 5 tablespoons butter, cut into 5 piece
1- 9-inch deep-dish pie crust, unbaked Pour 1 + 1/2 cups water into the pie crust. 1 1/2 cups water
In a small bowl, stir together the flour and sugar. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the water in the crust. Don't stir.
4 tablespoons all-purpose flour,1 cup sugar
Drizzle the vanilla over the water in the pie crust. Place pats of butter on top of this. 2 teaspoons vanilla extract,5 tablespoons butter, cut into 5 pieces
Bake at 400 for 30 minutes. Reduce heat to 375 and cover sides of crust if needed to prevent burning. Continue cooking for an additional 30 minutes.
Pie will be watery when you pull it out of the oven but will gel as it cools. Allow to cool completely and then cover and place in the fridge until chilled before cutting.
yeah, this water pie contains no dairy or anything expensive but should yield a sweet dessert. i can't wait to try it. especially with it being made without sugar...should be very low in calories. may bring for coworkers, not sure.
the only crust the store had was a walnut crust...ah well. i wanted one that was in the dough / refrigerated section but it was a smaller supermarket without that option...i'm thinking to almost go to supermarket tonight to find the correct type of dough, actually. i don't think a walnut crust is right for a pie that is supposed to be SWEET not savory at all.

Note to you all: i got a lot of these protein drinks that are good on calories, chocolate flavor. I have like 7 of these 12oz drinks. I am using them at work instead of almond milk as they were free from a neighbor and then i do not have to waste my almond milk until i finish off these 7 protein shakes - i don't use the whole shake 12oz for one coffee, obviously, so these shakes will prob last me several weeks, unless someone else starts to drink them, which prob will not be the case bc they look like a single serving drink and not like a large community use item like my almond milk which people do drink and do not give me money for which is mostly ok as i eat the snacks...but the people drinking my stuff aren't bringing in snacks - they are the "takers" not the givers, either way, i'm ok with it. ;)

yes, i'm pretty pleased with my morning.
i slept a little bit too much in...so since i didn't sweat yesterday much since i only walked and no big exercise plus it was cooler...
i skipped a shower. using some wipes quick and was able to leave with around 25 min to spare once parking at work...to do leg work and a little walk :)
i was going to try to half it by going home without tolls but after a few attempts all with the same result, i shall stick to the toll route.

It's an artsy town on the water - walking around Peddler's Village which is all artsy and shopping. I plan to ride the carousel! Staying at the hotel on the grounds - Golden Inn.

Also, I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes soup in the summertime. If the Boss goes to the supermarket, I sometimes ask him to bring me back a clear-broth based soup.
also, i wasn't able to use bathroom yesterday, so i am a little bloated right now. so many reasons, lol.
i have had surprisingly smaller appetites throughout the recent weeks. but still hungry, etc, so that is good.
may talk about friend Jen from yesterday and how she is tryign to lose weight but seems an all or none mentality which may be hard to maintain and leads to overeating at meals; especially if limiting herself to one big meal which is what she did. may write about it when i have time; later in week or weekend.
it's just so filling, soups. good to have at work, in the cool A/C too.

Can’t remember how I felt, decades ago, if I was weak or whatever after the blood draw. The lady in the article says she has to take a two hour nap after the plasma draw. I wouldn’t mind that if I had her two teens & needed $$$
but i do think the people who give absolutely enjoy the monetary award. :)

I have requested the Mean book from my interlibrary loan. (My library never has any of the good books in their collection.) I am looking forward to a light, engaging read!
Lately i've had to pay a lot of extra bills to the tune of spending at 1K of my savings. i have more savings, but just saying, my savings are going down. without a raise, i expect my savings to dwindle up to 2k more until next summer. i'm OK with this...living life and enjoying it now. I still have a lot of savings in retirement accounts and my own chunk in the bank. it is what it is. can't do much about it, so can't harp on it. i'm content; and i think a raise has potential later so i can hopefully get back whatever cash i'm spending now, later.

8/6/22- Saturday - New Hope, PA Peach Festival !!!!!- Present AA card for hotel payment. Basically first "trip" since covid & since my last trips in 2019!! Pick up Christine & Drive down early morning Saturday; stay Saturday Night overnight hotel; Spend the day Sunday; drive back Sunday after Dinner. It's an artsy town on the water - walking around Peddler's Village which is all artsy and shopping. I plan to ride the carousel! Staying at the hotel on the grounds - Golden Inn.

9.3.22, Saturday - 7:15p Evening Citifield Mets vs Washington Nationals Baseball Game at stadium very close to me. I am going without anyone else but will prob carpool with other members of the "Welfare Club" that i'm in so there will be people i end up going with due to carpooling, just not sure who yet, lol. (and of course, i can always take public transportation also - especially if i want to leave to go back home early!)

Evening (or tomorrow AM drive) to Critical Thinking Course (i did this course once around 5 years ago - different topics each time - I believe this will be about union / Local 3 history). overnight at union grounds out east- fri night/sat night- out east at the Long Island Educational Center thru union. Going with Leslie, thankfully. It's 2hrs away. I will try to go with her and her BF in same car. I can pay half the gas...Either drive this evening or early tomorrow morning. I'm leaning towards early Saturday morning drive....leslie not working for union, need to contact her, i may be going alone...or parents to drive me and go out with me (which i'd appreciate - it's a two hour drive each way, minimum).
10.1.22 Saturday - Critical Thinking (stay overnight, paid for by union, nice perk of being a member and nice experience and knowledge - i support learning and education..)
10.2.22 Sunday - Critical Thinking Breakfast, then drive back home soon after.

Progress as of today: 2 lbs lost so far, only 3 lbs to go!
But when the weather is really hot, early morning is truly the best time to walk outside. In the evenings, it seems as though the bugs are bad, and it takes forever for the air to cool off from the daytime heat.
I thought of you this morning, though, when I was doing leg weights!
lol i hear you on the alarms. I moved both my alarm clocks to wake me earlier, though i still like to lay in bed listening to the music/talk before getting up. it's been helping having them go off earlier. I may even more them moreso...to get ready for fall / traffic / needing to leave earlier to get my walks in once school starts. but we shall see as right now what i'm doing is working quite well.
i will do my legs lunges (2 types) and toe raises (calf exercise) tonight and think of you!
I remember when i left teaching and went back to school when i was 26, i depleted my savings from teaching (20,000 or so?) in one year while living home with parents and not working. but since i was 28/29, i have been positively almost always gaining savings up until the pandemic started. but i know it's OK. to live in the moment as long as it's not majorly affecting me, which it is not yet doing.

i always pay cards off on time, if that means dipping into savings (usually not except usually small amounts, but this time really reaching for some money. it's ok. i'm doing fine!)
7.21.22 Thursday - 15 min walk before work, good. Was already 80F out at 6:30a, so it was nice to do just 15min.
Breakfast: banana and coffee 140, chocolate oat small muffin 160, pb 100. 400...
Snacks: pb x 2 200
Sucking candies in early afternoon, waiting for lunch until later 150
2p Late Lunch: chips small 100, small salad with caeser dressing 100, smallish but full serving cup of lentil soup 300...500 tops., gum.
Snacks:none on way home. late lunch did me good.
5:45p Dinner/Evening snacking before workout: small coffee, strawberries large amount 100, 2 milanos 150...250.
7/8p and during workout: gummies small pouch 100, partial banana 50. 150.seltzer/ccaffeine drink...
After workout:small bag chips, gummy vitamins 200 tops
1900 tops
Weights tonight - stay strong & carry on! - I may skip legs and do legs tomorrow to break up the timing....I will try to do exercises on the quicker end bc i want to be in bed, reading the book above. it's a very easy, fun read.
Maybe boil some frozen tortellini/ravioli from freezer tonight, really been wanting to have some ready for whenever i want to eat them, post-boiled...ya know!?
7.22.22 Friday - Leg squats / Walking before work,
Bike or walking after work...may be too hot for bike; can walk if in somewhat shady areas....
Pick up veggies & fruit on way home after work - if i have the energy.. otherwise, i'll do it Saturday or Sunday. ..Lots of fresh veggies for chopped salads to accompany frozen food for work this coming week. lots to use in freezer. Also berries if on sale, scallions, carrot, celery,peppers,pack of lettuce already cut up for ease of preparation;
7.23.22 Saturday - Go biking / or stay home, Weights today. probably staying home, also depends on weather which i think is very hot so prob not good unless going out earlier in day for bike.
Bake pumpkin pie? (i already have all of the ingredients at home).
7.24.22 Sunday - Mini Vacation-Feels right here:
11am Kayaking at a lake in Rockville Centre- in our own single person kayaks with Jen! (near my parents' house but they will not be home)
& Drive to Nautical Mile(seaport) (prob 20-30 min from kayaking) (you can look it up - in Freeport, NY) Nautical Mile is a long strip on the water, lots of restuarants, bars, and a fresh seafood store. may try to stay in Rockville Centre....i also am picking my friend Jen up and dropping her off (and we live over 30 min apart from each other). it's just too much driving around for me, overwhleming, before the coming week.
Both activities today are on Long Island not too far from each other.

I love "Stay strong & carry on!" -- but I did not do weights today either. I got a later start, and then prolonged my bike ride this morning instead. I've done biceps and chest so far this week. Tomorrow will be legs, I think.
That sounds like a good book! Funny, light, engaging :-)
The author of the book knows how to engage her audience. you feel like you are there with the characters in the book and experiencing everything in real time with them. Book written about middle school/high school kids and it was written around 10yrs ago. so it's relevant to the current year being only 10 yrs ago. and it's easy to relate back to the teenage mentality...its fun. it's not babyish or juvenile in terms of plot details. it's fun. it really is all about mean girls / cliques and how it feels to not be accepted, etc. good book.

I am, J-Donk. I'm glad to be off. I slept well last night. I got up on my clock today. I can relax on the couch for a little bit in the morning and plan my day. And i can go shopping for veggies and bake a cake today. I'm really glad to be off. THANK YOU xo.
