3pm snack cooker veggies and half turkey burger 250

I'm going to an orchestra concert in combination with a comedian/singer tonight at a very local stadium called the Forest Hills Stadium. Never been - so i'm extra happy to go with my friend Ricky. Tickets were decent, but not great - I think $50 which i'd say is semi-expensive. but, it's something to do and even involves an orchestra, so i'm really glad about that!

The area the concert is in doesn't have parking, so, we're taking the bus. It's the same bus i take for getting to the subway when i go to work. Good route. 

So i'll be walking a little bit today, but not like the 5k i signed up for tomororw which is just constant walking of 3mi without stopping. I will not be going to the 5k tomorrow bc my left foot is too sore, weak and strained. i'll rest and not be doing a continuous walk until it feels a bit better....and it will. 

and for the rest of the day today until the concert, i'm relaxing...no laundry. just couch and reading, unless i change my mind and cook something :) but i'm jjust resting my feet and legs and relaxing today.

650 cal before lunch, usual stuff... 

 lunch stewed zucchini 150, noodles 100, small amount meat/shrimp 250, avocado small amount 100. 550-600.

snack 4pm: half an old fashioned dunkin donut brought by coworker YUM 150 and a few almonds 50. 200

fruit 150, yogurt and choc chips 200 and later pb on cracker 150

I'm pretty set to skip the 5k on Sunday morning for more rest and relaxation. No need to abuse left ankle / calf more...we'll see how i feel.

walking / taking train after work to DMV to renew my license / get new since mine expires in September. I'm getting a new photo - with my short pixie hair...since my other one doesn't really look like me and i want a new photo - otherwise i'd have gone and done it online...but i work close to the midtown dmv in Manhattan, just a few stops away on the subway....i leave at 5pm and it's opened until 6pm so i should get there with a half hour to spare.....

I did go to the DMV with all the documents, but they needed originals of my birth certificate and also my passport in order to get the REAL ID license that i wanted. I only had copies. So, i'm thinking to go back after work Monday - but the line is very long for this process there and takes 2 hours. I really wanted to change my photo of my license, so, i guess i'll do that after work Monday along with bringing a good book :)

snack: peaunuts roasted with black pepper and salt. yum 200

lunch: healthy from home so good..stewed zucchini and some of the collard greens 150, half turkey burger 100, half small avo 150 with 2 rice cakes 120 550 tops.extremely filling!! and a small black coffee.

snack: almonds / big orange 200

before strength: 2 plums 100, pb 100, iced coffee 50. 250.

during strength: drinks, aminos, cranberry juice, banana 250

after strength:pb on cracker 200

i've been wanting more sleep all week....last night i did good with sleep but could have used even more because i woke up feeling groggy like i wasn't done sleeping...looking forward to tomorrow being Friday and sleeping in on Saturday! 

Left calf/ankle are a bit better today as i've not been using them more than i have to this week. I've been comtemplating skipping the 5K on Sunday so i can both sleep in after a night out and rest more...we'll see how i feel the night before. I'd rather keep it in the schedule and not be a "quitter," so....if i'm feeling good, i'll walk the 5k (3 miles). it'd be with my friend, Ricky.  Plus, this run/walk is close to home and is a later event that starts at 9am compared to the other ones we did at 8am. i am planning not to skip it, we'll see....

I am....rest definitely helps me stay more relaxed at work during the day :) slow day, many people took the day off! (like half our staff almost!)

I confess I'm a little concerned about your ankle/ calf. Let's see how the 5k goes.

yes, dinner was enjoyable and low fiber...helped me come the morning!

ankle/calf is such a darn nuisance. They are beginning to feel better compared to earlier this week - trying not to overdo and realizing that even just "doing" can hurt. I'll try to keep this all in mind. maybe skipping the 5k. we'll see..

For Amazon Prime Day today, I decided to order a few things i've been wanting for a long time. I figured today would be a good day to buy them:

1- hand held shower head with hose  $20

2- Water Foot Bath Electrical so water stays nice and warm and i can soak my feet in an Epsom Salt bath for continuued care of my feet / ankle / legs.  $20

Really i shouldnt' keep spending money, but, both these things i've been thinking about for a long time and i know they'll get good use.

Weights workout tonight, once again my ankle is weaker and leg because of the unexpected walking last Saturday night which was really supposed to be  a rest day - i'll be fine. and last night i cooked, a ton, so was on my feet most of the night - the veggies all turned out wonderfully! 

It's TOM and i'm overcoming a UTI and other stuff. so, feeling sorta gross this week and my leg is somewhat tight. LOL. so, i guess i need to not push this week...i really want the 5k on Sunday to go alright (walking it).

Progress as of today: -2.2 lbs lost so far, only 3.2 lbs to go!

Oh that foot soaker sounds lovely. And we have a hand held shower head. It doesn't matter so much to me, but my husband loves it... and needs it with his limited mobility. I do not think you will regret either purchase, really.

How did weights go?

weights is ok - i skipped one of my squats bc my ankle is def bothering me from Saturday's long walk home. i wish it didn't cause such an issue for me with constant long recovery times, but, it will heal and feel better eventually.

After the UTI which i have had mutliple summers now, I have decided it's about time i get a showerhead that is better along with any other issues i get down there grrr.

next, the foot soaker is going to be GREAT especially as weather cools, nice warming foot soak with epsom salts!

weights are actually going well and i'm very strong right now with upper body bc i've been very consistent lately!

I have found that TOM can help reconcile a UTI, so hopefully it will help you too. Good luck... maybe you need a longer dosage of antibiotics or something stronger?

Pure unsweetened cranberry juice (not Ocean Spray) and yogurt with live cultures is supposed to help. Maybe add these to your diet for a while?

Yes, on Sunday i broke down and bought Cranberry Juice when i passed by it at the end of supermarket isle...! :) i was drinking a cup of it Sunday/Monday and have more that i should drink tonight too.

TOM i think has helped with the UTI. I think i'm basically over it. I'm also taking the cranberry pills (vitamin section). and yes to more yogurt :)

Plans tonight:  no extra walking, that's for sure!; broil turkey burgers & cook veggies, clean hamster cage???

I still sorta have the UTI...i hope my body can clear it fully...trying not to go back to dr...

I'm sure you know about flushing the bladder with lots of water...we used to drink a lot of unsweetened cranberry juice too. It's also good to avoid sugars...they feed on those.

9am Breakfast oatmeal and almond milk 170, saffron just a little, cinnamon, stevia, apricot on bottom greek yogurt 140.  iced coffee 40. 350. kombucha 70. total here 420.

noon-2:30pm  granola bar during errands 130 (half at one time, half at another)

3pm late lunch after errands - lots of thai veggies in sauce 350, shrimp 8 medium 100, 1 smallish serving of sticky rice with some sauce on it 200 650 - awesome & BALANCED!, and a fruit 50x2

after VERY tasty lunch..

6:30pm-9:45pm during workout / organizing apartment- drinks and cranberry juice 150, another fruit 50, peanut butter on cracker 100, more pb 100, banana 120

after workout bar 250

2100, good.

Today:

Reading a little / shower / reading at dr if i have to wait...12pm dermatologist for hyperhydrosis (excesive underarm sweating so i get botox - it's been a genetic issue i've had since my teens)....

DONE! After derm, stopping at supermarket for mostly fruit (apricots, strawberries), avocados, & maybe a few more yogurts, almond milk, seltzers too. 

Also the cleaners to dryclean a down comforter.

i want to get home and stay home since yesterday was a long hike getting home from NYC during the midtown blackout.

DONE! Possibly picking up some veggies for a late lunch today that are already cooked and that i can enjoy at home - after the dermatologist / errands

HALFWAY DONE - this wasn't skipped and i will finish! :) ...Strength workout  today- I may skip one or two leg items as my ankle once again is stressed but NOT injured. just sore. it will always be this way, my bad ankle, from when i broke it many years ago.

TOMORROW I'd like to cook some of my veggies that were delivered this past Thursday evening :) from Misfits Market. GREAT Selection this time around with plenty of zucchini and greens. I may Sautee rather than go the slow cooker route, gotta review recipes.

it lasted from around 6:45pm until midnight when all areas were basically restored and it was caused by a transformer fire! I'm thinking it was due to it being very hot in summer and everyone using electricity, but not sure if my guess is the truth! but, it was def a transformer fire. it did cause a headache to many people in midtown.

OK, I have to ask this: the doctor's office is open on a SUNDAY????? (I've been meaning to ask you this for the longest time.)

yeah! a couple sundays i think per month they are open. And, i think they are CLOSED on SATURDAYS! who knows why!

but, being that I live in a very, very Metropolitan city, Queens, stores and drs offices tend to have more of a variety of hours. especially this derm office - it also has late night hours during the week. good place. :)

not everyone can get to a dr office near their home during the week, so most places do have some kinda weekend hours if they are a busy clinic like a dermatology group. there's 3 main dermatologists there, so i guess you can ccall it a pretty big sized office for dermatology. one dr works on weekends along with another one that comes in only for the weekends.

4am a little restless, with an appetite. two 2% greek Chobani yogurts with fruit on the bottom 280. 

9:45am oatmeal with almond milk and stevia, cinnamon, just a bit of saffron so i could take it with some oatmeal in one bite (i use oatmeal to put the dried saffron in and take it in one bite). 2% Chobani fruit on bottom Strawberry Rhubarb yogurt. 300. iced coffee 30

almost noon while reading / laundry: muffin that i made last sunday from fridge, seltzer with hemp and stevia, strawberries 250, more strawberries later 50

2pm lunch - wrap with mustard 150, bigger piece of sausage but still smaller if that makes sense! 200. total 350. some chips i think...

1000 calories more throughout night

total is decent at 2400 or so.

12:45pm NOW :) I've decided to start up the ladder exercises again today as i've been purposely doing less on weekends to give myself a rest and time to do what is most important lately including exercise and more cooking. just not rushing thru weekends like previous years :)

DONE :)Laundry ? today - if i can do it today it'd be a bonus...

Tonight I'm going into the city meeting my friend at 5:30pm which means i need to leave my apt around 4pm since there can be train delays on weekends. we are seeing an Off Broadway show called Drunk Shakespeare. it's an hour and half, no intermission, over by 7:30pm which is good because afterwards we are going out to an Indian restaurant nearby that also has Hookah (not a drug).  Looking forward to seeing this friend - we haven't met up since January when she flew to Florida to meet me for the last weekend i was down there at my other friend's house!

at noon tomorrow i have a follow up with dermatologist as well as a treatment for genetic hyperhydrosis which is underarm sweating that gets to be a huge problem for me and i get botox so that i can wear whatever i want and not walk around with huge pit stains all summer ! :)

ladder exercises did go well - and i now have started using an ankle brace when doing the ladder or jogging. Very happy to keep at it, not give up.

I do in fact figure my ankle WILL ALWAYS be somewhat of a pain that comes and goes after the fracture i had i do not think it will ever work great...but i do know that also continuing to add leg muscle and doing exercises that strengthen my leg muscles will help me to compensate for a weak ankle!

Overall, i can't complain at all! It was a challenge getting home from the city, but feels really good to do it last night - i walked over a bridge to get back into Queens, then took more transportation home. it was overall 3 1/2 mile walk out of NYC and into Queens. and i was with my friend :)

Laundry for me too.....it never seems to be done...just like the dishwasher....just started it a few minuts ago and a errant fork shows up.....like laundry...the dishes never seem to be 100% done either.

If i could only get myself to put my laundry away after i wash it, and not leave it in my cart! it's the cart i bring in my car whenever i do a major shopping trip so i can bring all the bags up to my apt in one haul....but today my clothes were nicely displayed all over it, so, once again i had to carry the bags in with a struggle....LOL...

My laundry cart....always with clothes on it, it seems...just like the dishes, dish washer, and laundry in general! hahahahaha

i love them in the morning at work bc they hit the spot and go well with a coffee afterwards.

on weekends, i got with something much more filling like oatmeal and yogurt.

volume i like at home, but at work in the morning it would just send me stomach issues lol.

yes, that's what it's been about! nice workddays and upcoming weekend :)

I admit i have been VERY LUCKY this year. since January, i can see it's been a year of the least work politics, least problems, and just the best environment i've ever had for this many months at a time without a change. i do admit though, i can tell it's the calm before the storm because this project only has 1yr to 1.5yrs...so i am being positive and keeping on with my goals :)

REALLY GLAD to work out tonight...keep on...and happier knowing tomorrow is ALREADY FRIDAY thank gosh!!!!!!!

This has been a really, really great week. And i will keep on with it this way for the most of this summer too!

it was :) he was def busy and so fast paced...omg...always reminds me how he got to the high position he's at with his job. so nuts to see him in action as i hadn't seen him since father's day a month ago.
