So...those baby bananas that look like 3" that are sometimes sold in supermarkets taste very different from regular bananas....and they are GREAT! i shall buy baby bananas now. :)

Home: kombucha 50

Breakfast: coffee 50, 2 baby bananas 120, 2 tbsp pb 200 and granola bar 100

Snack: wrap, 100, potato 100, turkey pepperoni 50

Lunch: brought from again good job to me! veggies in a little sauce 150-200, some nuts & protein in there 100, egg 100, and pretzels 120: 520.

Snacks: clementines 50, bigger plum 100. total 150

Dinner: prob something on way home....or i can pick up some stuff while on my lunch break (not a fan of the things i already have at home...although..i just came up with something that could work! soy duck leftovers 200, in a wrap 100, with a red pepper 50..350....and fruit if i need it...

snack after workout...possibly ice cream or possibly yogurt and cranberries..tbd.

total was 2250, really hungry day. i'm glad i didn't skip my workout and i also got tons of cardio in today by walking extra and getting off the bus earlier than my stop while coming home! now i know a good location to get off so i have just over a mile (like just over 20min) to walk home. perfect.  it's a good location bc this bus stop is always annouced so it's hard to miss it!

weekly average: 2080- seems ok.

Progress as of today: 4 lbs lost so far, only 1 lbs to go!

bearcountrygg on 03/30/2018:
I see those little bananas on the internet...but not in our stores.....I think they are a good idea....bananas can slow down weight loss...in fact the main 2 things years ago that did affect mine was bananas slow losses down...and any kind of coffee creamer would stop it all together.

horn_of_plenty on 03/30/2018:
bananas do spike my blood sugar and get me really hungry an hour after eating one....but their potassium keeps me coming back for more as well as how it really helps my digestion.

horn_of_plenty on 03/30/2018:
they are very smooth and get rid of gas / help me at work.

happy-1 on 03/30/2018:
Good job HoP! Great meal planning and prep! Money in your pocket and room for it on your hips ;-)

Horn_of_plenty on 03/31/2018:
thanks Happy, I'm trying to curb it a little bit. seems food options are endless these days!...and i'm tempted everywhere and by everything...so sticking to most of my plans everyday...helps curb my eating somewhat. waking up earlier has caused me to be definitely hungrier during the morning.

Donkey on 03/30/2018:
Bananas are also an excellent source of fiber :-)

Donkey on 03/30/2018:
I have to have creamer in my coffee. I usually have a cup of decaf at night with a flavored creamer to satisfy the craving for dessert. Hmm...

Horn_of_plenty on 03/31/2018:
yes, great idea for an evening snack! very light!

Doesn't it empower you when you make a decision and stick with it??? I know it makes me feel good!

horn_of_plenty on 03/29/2018:
so my goal should be to cook those protein noodles and not divert from my plan...yes it shows some resolve and personal strength if i stick with it :)

horn_of_plenty on 03/29/2018:
i may still cook the noodles, but having popcorn instead tonight lol...

I'm wondering why this is so hard for all of us...we all seem so tormented by it.

horn_of_plenty on 03/28/2018:
i used to not be as bad as i am now....i think my nerves are up due to job changes so often this winter...i'm def working to fix this though. ...we should realize there's "always tomorrow"

bearcountrygg on 03/28/2018:
I think we walk such a fine line between what we should do..and what we want to do....do we give in to the moment..or do we wait for the greater good. Somehow the happiness in the moment just seems right, but then we also know that we will feel miserable afterwards. I think that one thing I am not doing is setting a short term goal...something that makes me work towards a specific thing over just a few days....not endless...but short term.

horn_of_plenty on 03/29/2018:
yes, same here...it's fine line...and i'm sorta sick of my pants getting too tight...we need to bite the bullet or we will not make progress...i think all of us on DD are struggling to actually make any changes right now...i've just about had enough and i'm really wanting to lose weight now....being up so many hours is now the difficult part bc i feel very hungry at work in the mornings bc i start work at 7...but if other people can do it...i know i MUST CHANGE by patterns.

Maria7 on 03/28/2018:
Hope you are having a good evening...

horn_of_plenty on 03/29/2018:
yes, it went alright :)

Donkey on 03/28/2018:
I hate that sugar-shaky feeling! If I don't address that like right away, it usually results in off the deep end for me.

It could very well be that the increased activity -- including your commuting and your anxiety -- require a higher calorie intake.

horn_of_plenty on 03/29/2018:
yes, the different commute from driving seems my body is still adjusting.

i also go off the deep end with the sugar lows, etc. and that's why i like some carbs in my life...and why low carb didn't fully work for me.

have a good day, Jdonk.

Weight: 114.0

7am Breakfast: oatbran with almond milk and packet of sunflower seed butter i've been wanting to use (i may have had it at least 6months even maybe 1yr at my apt) 350, kombucha 60. 410.

10am-noon Snacks:  almonds & twizzlers 300, coffee50

1:30-2pm  - Lunch back at home: tomato soup with veggies 200, turkey pepperoni 50, a one of those supposedly 200 cal cali'flour (that's the brand) pizza crusts that i bought to try...i have 4 more crusts (2 per box) in my freezer. 450. i really don't know if they can be that possibly healthy...seems more cheese in them. but if they really are only the 180 cal they claim, the product is EXCELLENT.  it's good enough to def eat without toppings. i really don't think their calorie totals are right...because the product is quite big and most things that are only 200 cals just aren't that big...so...it can def be a scam with their calorie counts.

1300 after very tasty lunch.

1450 after big banana and gum...

1800 today, though i really don't know if the califlour crust is so low in cals....haha but very happy about the total. it was better especially bc i was busy and not home as much :)

2050 4-day avg - very happy it's back down :) and not 2200 or so...still i am working to eat less again / be more moderate so i can lose a few pounds and stop the gaining cycle.

I will do homework for class tonight - just realized it's one question not needing too much thought. but will find what i think is the right answer- should take 15 min at most, sometime during waiting for the oil change.

9:30 till noon: At car dealership till around 2pm so taking a 3mi walk around since they have my car 4 hours might as well exercise - legs tired after 1 mi so I know I need to do this more which I am !  after i sat for a little while luckily after my long walk, they told me they didn't have the part and i'd have to come back ANOTHER DAY!  I didn't get too upset as i got a walk in, had a free coffee there, asked to charge my phone....so i just made the appt, but it's a month away as that's the next time i can take a weekday off.

12:30pm I bought new car front windshield wipers and oil change. lots $ but needed most things. I needed the wipers as i was only going to get them at AutoZone

2:30pm Still need to do this - i'll go out again around 2:30pm after i eat...and then realized i might as well get an oil change at a nearby service station as my car is also due for one. ran out of time for oil change.

4pm-7:30pm: I have a 4pm dr appt and 5pm class tonight.  picking up rX after class ends at 7pm....glad i rested yesterday as today i'm happy to get this stuff done. but seems i'm spending tons of $$$$ my days off lol...ah well...sometimes you have to.

Yesterday, splurged on 2 new workout shirts as mine had pulls in them - from Modell's while doing other errands last night.

Also yesterday, On Amazon, I got tall rain boots which you do need here in winter and sping and any time the weaather calls for them - esp taking public transportation...

Progress as of today: 3 lbs lost so far, only 2 lbs to go!

bearcountrygg on 03/27/2018:
We don't have those cauliflower crusts here......hopefully we get them...they do sound better carb wise.

Horn_of_plenty on 03/27/2018:
these are really tasty. VERY overpriced. around $15 with tax and all for 2 crusts. they are great though, tastewise. I should make my own :) it's not that hard, actually. You'd need a blender / food processor.

i don't believe the company's claim that one of their huge 9" pie crusts is only 180 cal. It seems off. Because i think of these calories based on the size, the amount of oil/cheese and the fact that i cannot tell what is cheese only and what is cauliflower. just seems that it's too big to only be 180 cal and i am usually pretty accurate in my estimates. It's simply too big to be 180 cal. perhaps a smaller piece of it is 180, but not the whole thing. i hate scams.

happy-1 on 03/27/2018:
MMM workout shirts. Do you ever look at Sierra Trading Post? They have some good deals and if you google for promos you can get free shipping.

Horn_of_plenty on 03/27/2018:
i've heard of it but never looked. i have some "free bucks" to Old Navy and thinking to buy some new workout wear from there bc it would be TOTALLY free. I think i have $50 dollars built up to spend at old navy...prob shouldn't have even bought the two tops from Modells...but they sure are nice :)

Donkey on 03/27/2018:
It's so nice to have days off... Maybe your work/life balance is off? Or just uninspired by your occupation. Oh well, at least it has benefits. And it gets you out of the house most days.

Horn_of_plenty on 03/27/2018:
yes, i was glad to be more productive today even if i didn't finish everything.

why do you question the work/life balance?

i know it was just errands, i was totally ok with this...ha.

i know i'm lucky.

Donkey on 03/27/2018:
I hope you have a good class too -- isn't it nice to be around other people?

Horn_of_plenty on 03/27/2018:
yes, the other people in the class are nice...although i think the teacher thinks i ask too many questions...and that he doesn't like me too much lol...i don't know. doesn't matter. the students are all friendly...they are all adults mostly over 30 up to age 55.

graindart on 03/27/2018:
I've always wondered about those cauliflower crusts, but have never tried making them or seen them in a local grocery store. Have to get off my butt now and finish my last mile of walking today. I'm doing 3 miles per day, 6 days per week right now. It's usually not a huge deal because it's just a brisk pace on the treadmill in the living room, but today I'm feeling lazy.

Horn_of_plenty on 03/27/2018:
i have no excuse but to improve my ability to walk more mileage per day. 3mi to me is extremely difficult to get in - or maybe get in all at once - today felt so difficult....

keep on. i think it's all mind over matter, actually. but of course also there is truth in that increasing something too quickly (mileage or intensity) can cause injury. this is what scares me. nonetheless, mind over matter.

i've been so lazy so long that i forgot what it even means to push myself...my goal i guess would be to get in some cardio on mornings on the weekend, instead of laying in bed....

how long do your 3 miles take? 45 min?

the cauli crusts have many recipes online. There's NO WAY that the ones i bought can be only 60 calories for a 1/3 of them....i just cannot believe those nutrition facts. something is definitely off on them. there's too much oil, cheese to be 60 cal...and 180 cal for the whole thing. i DO think it's a scam. I wrote my question on their facebook page and they didn't get back to me....but they do get back to others' questions. i'll let you know if i hear a reply. also, this package of two crusts cost me around $15. It was a HUGE splurge. Because i bought 3 packages.

graindart on 03/27/2018:
The 3 miles takes me about 50 minutes. It's a fast walk stride for me. It doesn't actually get my heart rate elevated and isn't all that taxing physically right now. Increasing the speed any means that I have to transition from walking to jogging. While the walking doesn't tax me, I can only do the jogging for a couple minutes at a time before getting tired. The goal is to get to the point of jogging the entire 3 miles, but I'm not pushing the cardio right now because I'm concentrating on the strength training and don't want to over-work myself with too many things at the same time. Right now I'm slowly progressing without getting burnt out, so that's good enough for the present.

Horn_of_plenty on 03/28/2018:
this sounds like a good plan for sure. 50 min is a pretty fast mile though, just over 15 min per mile is good. i couldn't walk it near that fast! anyways, i like your plan. and it's good that you are satisfied with where you are at "now." The plan will change over time as you improve :)

Really happy to have today off from work.

Tomorrow I actually have errands type of plans (car recall to bring into dealer, dr appt, 2nd to last estimating class - 10 total weeks it went for)

Just really happy to not have big plans.. so just doing little things here and there around the apartment and catching up with all of you.

Planning to go to gym around 5pm.

I also plan to drop off materials at library :) and possibly other smaller-scale things.

Happy Sunday :) It is bc i know i have 2 more days off after today woohoo.

Up sorta early around 7:30 bc i am attending a funeral for a family friend's grandma. She was living into her 90's and died in surgery i think! It must have been an unfortunate complication.

7:30am Breakfast: fruit and kombucha 80 is what i wanted. small banana 120, leftover strawberries just a few 30, blueberries 120. 350.

9am Snack: pb 200

12pm light lunch dunkin donuts wake up wrap and decaf coffee 250 oh and granola bar 100. 350.

2pm once i got home: finally a ton of veggies and some soy meat 400? and then these really tasty chips but very high cal 250. 650 total.

4:30 2 clementines and tea...as well as some sf jello that i'm not counting. 50 oh and ice cream light 1 serving. 100

5:30pm cauliflower pizza crust... i admit to having really bad overeating issues lately. i really 200, coconut yogurt 150

2050, done!.

For the rest of the day, planning on laundry and eating lighter, before possibly watching a movie with Ricky or also possibly just watching one of mine here at home - if i want to keep calories in check, best i just stay home - we'll see.

I'll be picking up some cooked veggies to eat today at home, then doing laundry, I will walk at park but planning on just going around 1-2 times which equals 1.5mi at most. then i want to visit my friend to watch a movie....seems like a lot, so i might cut out the walking at the park...bc my legs are a little tired today from yesterday.

I did stop at a specialty food store near the funeral which happens to be one of the like 6 only shops in all of Manhattan and Long Island that carry these Cauliflower Pizza Crusts made from mostly cheese and cauliflower that i keep seeing advertised on Facebook. So i drove there, perhaps around 20 min from the funeral out east a little more. anyways, i bought them and also bought new sneakers as i have been wanting to do this for around 2-4 weeks now.

I didn't buy new office type dressier shoes shoes bc i figure my flats are good enough that i own now and at work i can change into the sneakers i use on my commute into flats in the office...and that i do not need right now to buy any more sneakers or shoes. the sneakers happened to be buy one get one half and sports bras were on sale for $10 each so i bought a couple since i hadn't done that in awhile...i wanted also workout shirts bc mine i actually getting torn but they didn't have much of a selection and were made with polyester which i do not like that material in any of my shirts, let alone workout tops.

Progress as of today: 3 lbs lost so far, only 2 lbs to go!

Donkey on 03/25/2018:
I hope you have a good day, considering a funeral is involved. Grandma lived a long life...

horn_of_plenty on 03/26/2018:

2150 - better than 2250 :)

Breakfast I had what i was craving, carbs, and a big volume: 2 servings of a cheerios-like cereal called Onyxorgum 250, banana 120, and almond milk 30. also a serving of kombucha. 40 total 450.

Protein bar really fake and not healthy and decaf coffee 300, fruit and couple chips and bite of cheese 100

850 at 11am - decent actually

I should pack a snack for sure for during this rally i'm going to. or maybe i'll buy something on the street while i'm out there :) yeah...

1pm snack some of Ricky's sushi 200

3pm real meal before workout leftovers baked chicken 200?, wrap 120, mashed sweet potatoes 150...500 and a few strawberries and too many pretzels 250

1850 at most ....yeah too much having some issues with overeating

Will be finally making it to the gym today - haven't been there since Monday.

After gym thinking to have light ice cream and call it a night

I realize here that if I want to eat less I will need to plan better and stop with the carbs for breakfast - just gotta plan better, yes.

Earlyish to bed - maybe another movie tonight - because i have to drive to a funeral tomorrow morning.

Slept till around 8am prob around 10hrs. I do have good plans today with Ricky to go to an anti gun march (rally really) at Central Park in NYC and then probably eat lunch somewhere. Later on today i plan to finally visit the gym for a good weights workout. And those are the plans for today. I did end up watching a move last night called Girl in Progress and it actually turned out to be a great movie. I cried a bit!..it was well filmed, written & acted.

Progress as of today: 3 lbs lost so far, only 2 lbs to go!

Great plans for today! Good for you for getting out there and marching! I don't know if my daughter is planning to march here in town.

When I read "big salad" I instantly wanted one too. I must be feeling better :-)

I hope you will update us on your gym workout. I love stories from the gym.

horn_of_plenty on 03/24/2018:
Salad didn't happen but I did eat some vegetables today - well one - lol I know that Will improve by tomorrow :) yes!

Workout was pretty good for after a morning cardio session walking in NYC .... slowly I am getting stronger :)

I may have to practice more push-up exercises not sure why my whole life try came easy until recently pr B bc of the change in all my weights exercises

bearcountrygg on 03/24/2018:
You guys marching in the snow?

horn_of_plenty on 03/24/2018:
Believe it or not the brought of Manhattan got much less snow Wednesday and into Thursday and bc it's been 45-50 degrees Thursday later afternoon and Friday most of it melted !!!!

horn_of_plenty on 03/26/2018:
Yes I have heard of it and seems a great hands on type of occupation - I'd be back in school for YEARS. I do have a few friends in this field !

Weight: 114.0

2135 per day this week - high.

Now i'm going to have FOUR days off. I am finishing the year (it ends for us at the end of March) of vacation days. These will be my last 2 on Monday & Tuesday. Tuesday I have 3 major things to do: doctor appt, car appt, and a class. Monday is very free. Eitehr way, the goal is to have a lower cal week - like maybe an average of like 1800 cal per day by the week's end - or around there :).

kombucha, later coffee and a coconut bar 250.

wrap 100, half veg burger 70, turkey pepperoni 50 220

banana 130 and nuts 100

Lunch: from home - roasted shredded cabbage with olive oil big serving and tofu 400, pretzels here 120. around 450.

snack before home: clementine 50, coffee w/ milk...

chocolate before dinner 150

dinner before gym: i bought a nice and healthy dinner during lunch today. roasted turkey 250, roasted carrots 100, seaweed salad 50, roasted garlic 50, and marinated mushrooms (included i think already in the calories). and my own pretzels 200. 650, good.

2050...boy do calories add up quickly..!!! and a few strawberries and sf jello thrown into the mix :)

i'll prob be in bed without watching the movie...maybe tomorrow night.

Due to my most free day next week off from work being MONDAY, i want to go to the gym both tomorrow afternoon and Monday afternoon. Today, i walked around doing errands before going home from work & would rather not bother with just getting out to the gym at 6. Tomorrow & Monday gym sessions worked best this time around :) And i'm happy to be back home now & did get a tiny bit more exercise in my getting off the bus early going home, shopping at the supermarket, walking into bath & body works...just a little more exercise is ok for today.

I sat all workday. But i walked 5min in AM to bus, 10 min at lunch, 5 min to work from train, 5 min back to train, prob 20 min in Forest Hills shopping, and probably 20 min near me shopping...around an hour at least. i'm good with that. i may even watch a movie tonight, as i stopped by the library and rented a couple tonight also. like i said, i stopped in a few places :)

Progress as of today: 3 lbs lost so far, only 2 lbs to go!

doing far better...meal planning is my key.

Donkey on 03/23/2018:
Another good day! My FitBit measures activity during the day. One of the goals is to get at least 250 steps per hour. If I go downstairs to the snack closet and back upstairs, that will usually do it. Going out to get the mail also does that. Seeing as you work in a trailer, it might be hard to get activity steps in on an hourly basis without being too conspicuous, LOL. But you've got the right idea by sneaking in pockets of activity in your day.

Horn_of_plenty on 03/24/2018:
oh, i am no longer in a trailer. i was moved again, end of February. I am now working in NYC in a tall office building...actually, the building might be only 24 floors i believe, so not that tall compared to the empire state building lol or other NYC buildings. Now I CAN get up every hour or stand up at my desk, etc. I now work in a semi-private space.

4 days off...YAY!!!

Horn_of_plenty on 03/24/2018:
i noticed this past week that having monday off...it certainly helps with stress and also helps me be productive in life...feeling like instead of working i can be doing so many things!...it helped me get organized, for sure.

(counting calories/walking/elliptical/weights)
Weight: 114.0

kombucha 30

7am: kashi granola bar and coffee with milk 200, banana 120

9am: wrap 100, 1/2 veg burger 70, turkey pepperoni 50: 220

10:30 nuts 100

Lunch: the rutabaga salad i've been meaning to eat...gotta check it's not spoiled 200, tofu 70, pretzels 200. 450

3:30pm clementines 50 and a bit more coffee 50 and special K cinnamon brown sugar bars 100....

Trying to remember it all but out of order: chicken 250?-300, stuffed cabbage 150?, nuts and apples 200?, egg whites 100, matzah ball 200 at least, small amounts of other sides 150, maybe that's it...1100

As much as 2450 but hopefully less. At least it was semi healthy.

Weekly avg isn't great:2150 or so each day - this causes weight gain for me.

5:45-8:30pm? dinner event - it's an event for the union that my dad is very involved with. starts around 6 and i hope it's over by 8:30pm.

def no additional exercise today...although i may just walk at lunch for at least 10min.  i am actually hoping that my coworker stays home due to snow today so i can work alone.

My hamster was def born with genetic defects. It's now losing all control of it's back limbs (i think it's a poor calcium intake thing passed from mother to son) and seems to be going paralyzed by loss of back limb control.  I can just let it pass away on it's own. I will probably do so in a week or 2 is my guess. I know it was born with defects bc it's been sick on and off since the second week i've ownded it since July. If i get another one, i'll have to make sure it's healthy at the start.  I'm surprised actually that this one lived as long as it did - so far it's lived around 9 months with me and maybe like 10 months overall. They are supposed to live 2 years.

It now has a cold and sneezes a bit also.  It cost $20 to buy and i have already brought it to the vet once, for like $50.  I'm not rich and will not be going to the vet again as it's obvious my hamster has defects that cannot fully be fixed and it's not something i want to include in my budget. Once this hamster passes, I will probably get another one soon as i do enjoy holding them at home.

It has difficulty getting around in the cage..and even difficulty drinking water bc it cannot stand up at all on its hind legs. I will most probably let it pass naturally - not going to bring my hamster to get euthenized.

Progress as of today: 3 lbs lost so far, only 2 lbs to go!

happy-1 on 03/22/2018:
Poor hamster, and poor you! I think I'd feel the same way about my dog, but mostly because I wouldn't want to be euthanized myself. I'd only do it if she were in terrible pain.

Wish they could tell us if they hurt.

horn_of_plenty on 03/22/2018:
It doesn't act like things hurt, just struggles. The hamster doesn't make any extra sounds at least while i am at home but i notice the breathing is more shallow than it used to be. Now it makes sense the hamster never liked exercise too much..

Donkey on 03/22/2018:
So sorry to hear about your hamster :-(

Hope tonight's dinner event goes well...

(counting calories/walking/elliptical/weights)
Weight: 114.0

5:30am Kombucha 70

7am Kashi granola bar and coffee with milk 200

9:00am Wrap 100 with egg and my tomato mix 100 and turkey pepperoni 50. 250.

11am Banana 120 and nuts 200, few candies also 50

900...when i get home i plan to eat anything else for the day

Lunch: TBD - we may leave very early today from the office due to snow storm...then i plan to eat less...go home to enjoy something .... still not doing as good as i can with calories...so, I'll do better today...

1:30 Home and i binged instead of eating what i had first planned to eat in smaller quantities earlier in the day:  small peppers100, pretzels250?huge orange 150, yogurt ,100, 2 granola bars also 200 (i ate this all at once at 1:30 - felt completely out of control).

6:30pm last eating for day: a natural bar and couple small chocolates. my blood sugar was all out of whack after waking up after a nap after my 800 cal binge which thankfully wasn't too bad compared to my past binges years ago. it's good i had veggies and fruit also...but i ate as a way to slow my mind and body and it promotes laziness...as the weather improves i am sure i'll improve.i took a break from exercising today - i could have done some exercises at home, but wasn't in the mood at all.

total today is 2000, maybe a little bit over. - it could have been better but i stress ate a ton....so far and planning for 200 calories in a snack later. once again, slight binge when getting home today around 1:30 from work due to a changed schedule and my own poor coping mechanism (eating).

5day avg: 2090 - good but not great. could always be worse. lately my emotional eating has gotten worse as i feel worse at my current job...i have to continue to push myself like i did when i was younger (to get things done) and try to get outta my head a bit more.

 - anything in the mid 2000's is what i consider maintenance. I still have a goal to go below this amount - but maybe if i'm having so much trouble doing  so, on weekends my goal is still to eat in the 2000's...i think weekends are my problem area!

once again, there was emotional eating involved today. for sure. i felt unable to stop - and binged more on sugary food than i have in weeks, months, years. really not dealing well with life right now.

A storm is starting this morning, to continue to snow throughout the day...We have work today despite the schools being officially closed and even my gym is closed today..

Progress as of today: 3 lbs lost so far, only 2 lbs to go!

graindart on 03/21/2018:
Had some last minute requests to get some rush assignments done today and they were willing to pay extra. So I was stressed and not eating at the normal times either. Haven't gone off the deep end here yet, but my mind is stuck on craving food. I'm guessing it's because stress eating has been such a part of my life forever.

Horn_of_plenty on 03/21/2018:
same here. it's a very addictive type of habit i'd say similar to smoking or any other bad habit. very hard to get away from - lately mine is worse than normal. and changes in routine make it even harder for me as well as any work i am ever responsible to do at home. ..

very hard to get away from the emotional eating habit. i mean any eating that is done past full and/or eating not due to hunger.

but one thing that has changed for me - i do eat more veggies and fruit and usually have at least a little bit of them in my fridge, which, when combined with other high calorie items or just other food it makes it harder and harder to wreck calories completely...i'm saying that thank gosh i have veggies and fruits to reach for also, they help to stave off super high cal binges like i used to have - which did include up to a pack even of granola bars / candy / etc. i don't do it like that anymore...as i've gotten better at having staples at home to eat before i start on those things and like you said i do not buy as much of those temptations. my bread is mostly low carb wraps and lighter regular wraps. and i do not buy too many types of chips or pretzels - just what i'm used to. it's all a work in progress.

my eating reflects my attitude right now and job situation which feels like i am treading water. it can get better though. sorry for the negativity....i'm glad to be able to pay my bills but the uncertainties and questions i have right now in my life is constantly on my mind.

i'm glad you took the assigments - sometimes you have to in order to keep getting assignments...that type of thing would get to me too...but you do have things you CAN reach for that aren't such a derailment to your diet which is the best way to deal with your situation. it's what i do - better alternatives to high cal options.

Maria7 on 03/21/2018:
Hope you have a good evening.

Horn_of_plenty on 03/21/2018:
yeah...i'm not proud lately of any of my actions or lack of action. i just don't apply myself well to the working world...thank you for a kind comment.

Donkey on 03/21/2018:
I agree with your assessment regarding the connection between the eating and job satisfaction. I am confident that you will get through this, and if it means a few pounds, well... then so be it. I feel that once the weather warms up, you will find direction. So, tread water for now, to keep yourself afloat. (((hugs)))

Horn_of_plenty on 03/21/2018:
thank you Jdonk...i'll consider what you said and that i will get through it. i admit to it feeling really frustrating. but i know i'm not the only one who's been there. thank you for the kind words.

i think if anyone here needs to give me hard advice, that you should give it. i know i'm being lazy and not working as hard as i could. it's just i have trouble applying myself and doing more at the job.
