Home kombucha 50.

Breakfast 1: pb toast crackers 200, coffee 100 (lots of milk today). 300 

Mid Morning: wrap 100, pepperoni 60, egg and ketchup 100. 250.

Morning Snacks Banana 120, clementine 30

12:30 Lunch: from home (maybe it's too low in fat..?) - wrap and turkey burger 300, veggies 100. 400 total. and granola bar 100 cal- lunch was too light.

4pm one chocolate bc i went walking and not strait home - instead i walked straight to my car and drove to the park - just around a mile, but nice to do. then went by the supermarket...50 cal

1300 before dinner

7pm Dinner: something from fridge already at home: i'm thinking oven fries 300, orange peppers 100, and tofu 150. 550

Dinner happened after my trip to the supermarket where i found all sorts of new products - REALLY - that i never tried, so of course i ate them at dinner! Dinner was late, 7pm,  which is how i sometimes like it bc i do not need snacks afterwards.

2 extra large eggs 200, sweet potato chips 1 serving 120, mashed cauliflower seasoned by Bird's Eye (pretty darn good!) (basically all 3 servings) 150, new halo top flavor ice cream 150. 650 approx.

1950 today. bc of some lighter foods. i am surprised i stayed within range...gotta say, it's easy when you have a huge assortment of lighter style things...that taste good!


Snacking at night: microwaved strawberries with stevia added if i need to snack.

total today is not more than 1900-1950, Making this week another great one.

Weekly avg is still around 2050, good.

I am debating a low calorie day on Sunday, like, 1500 cals.

Also, i'm modifying my plan...it's to simply be more mindful of calories: not overindulge without making sure calories are ok for the day. To keep calories around 1900's...but allowing myself to veer off my "menu" since i find it too strict to follow a total set plan for the day anymore.

i agree it works to have an overall balance and that high and low is good / normal for calories :)

i know i need to bring my calorie totals a hair down...will be going next week for an attempt at 1900s overall avg for the week.

I've definitely done better on days when I eat more earlier in the day. Looks like you're doing great. I don't know what Kombucha is so I'm going to go Google it now :)

I do the opposite - when I eat too much prior to lunch - well too many carbs - I find it hard to stay on track for the rest of the day...

But I do need breakfast also and frequent snacks to do well so I have to eat just not overeat early in day :-)

7am Breakfast: light coffee with milk 70, pb keebler crackers 200

3pm Snack: banana 120 (had this at 9am)

9:30am Mid Morning: 1 egg 100, pepperoni 60, ketchup 20, on a wrap 120: 300.

Noon Lunch: my own prepared turkey burger from last night (i made them) 180 on a wrap 120 with mustard 300. and buying veggies from across street to eat with it.250. 550...well didn't fully stick to the plan bc i did get the veggies, but they had a rice noodle wrap which is def lighter than my sandwich anyways, then i made another coffee after lunch. calories i'd say are equal or less. tomorrow i think i shall bring my entire lunch...cutting up an orange pepper i think as the veggie. along with the sandwich i have in the fridge. But I am def sticking to my planned dinner which is a wrap with veggies on the side. ...i am happy to do better today. It will be a good day by the time it's done, food-wise. 

Dinner before gym: the tuna salad my friend gave me on a wrap! i'm thinking! 350 tops and perhaps some veggies that i cut up at my apt. 50. 400! Dinner was amazing ...the tuna salad that my friend made was excellent. and toasted up nice in a wrap. tons of veggies including a whole orange pepper and some of that veggie that tastes like licorice...gym soon :) I'm so glad to have stuck with it...looking forward to a good gym session...

After gym: microwaved strawberries (yes gonna warm them and it will be a rather large portion) 100 in a flavored greek yogurt 150. 250 tops.

1950 - TOPS - might as well stick to this awesome menu today. good calories, that's for sure. no overdoing. just gotta stick with the plan :) Gonna start meal planning again...yes.

6day avg: 2050 - good...and tomorrow i'll also plan so that my total avg goes down a bit more.

I'm doing the same....I set mine up to be boring...so that I can forget about food...the more I think about it the more I eat....

yes, i have the same mindset. i'm trying to definitely lose a few pounds right now. and i'm done being "stupid" about it. All I have to do is stick with my plan...and i think i'm ready to do that. I think a lot of my excitement over having everything in the world to eat everyday is wearing off...and that i am more interested in a plan of action and following it - so the new dress pants that i bought actually fit - they are very tight all of a sudden - the size i was wearing comfortably a couple months ago...I do prefer that smaller size than to wear the next size up.

In general, I will be planning my meals - and if I am really smart, i'll do better on the weekends too which has been my downfall in general - like you said - whatever's in the house is fair game. I haven't been eating loads of chocolate anymore, thankfully that has worn off due to me buying less and just finishing what i have..

I will work on it, specifically this month as i'm doing.

If I just do nothing, my pants will soon not fit.

I love a home-made turkey burger. We have a new supermarket that has opened about half an hour's walk away and they sell low-fat turkey mince. They're also, for the first month, giving away a free gift each week if you spend more than £20 (about £27 dollars). This week it was a 1L bottle of olive oil. What do you put in your turkey burgers?

lately just basic garlic and pepper...but i also add cumin spice which gives them a nice flavor. i do know that adding some oil will make them tastier and softer, but i do not mind them being a bit rougher to chew...

Good Morning.

Home: kombucha 40

Light Breakfast at work, 7am, coffee with full fat milk and stevia 80, peanut butter crackers (i want to finish my packages off - i have several more...you know, the tasty ones made by Keebler). 190.

9-9:30am snack: wrap from yesterday 120, 40, 200 = 360

11am Late snack: banana 120

800 before lunch. in the mood for 2 meat dumplings and vegetables.  when i eat the carbs and am satisfied knowing i ate what i wanted and didn't eat anything else bc i am trying to be healthy, it's easier for me to feel like i'm not denying myself anything...if that makes any sense.

lunch: 3 meat dumplings 300, tomato and cucumber salad 100, salsa 50, olives 50, bean sprouts 50.  550 total.

1350 after lunch - good

came home and had an early dinner at 3 that started as only a snack but didn't go totally out of control - pineapple yogurt with my cooked cranberries 250, turkey burger that I just cooked with ketchup and mustard on a lighter wrap 300. 550 and has protein and carbs rather than just the sugary yogurt. 1900 and possibly a small snack before bed - or I may stick with the 1900 total and bed early again.

Grand total today is 2100 and wil go to bed as soon as a finish stapling some paper drawings (work) together that I brought home bc I am working like a snail and wanted to have it done before I go to work tomorrow - I brought them home to do...

Weekly avg is 2070 per day Decided on possibly no exercise today - prob no stairs but we shall see.




Plan is gym after work if roads are ok - otherwise i'm switching it up for tomorrow. Yes, most likely i'm going straight home tonight - to cook turkey burgers and eat a nice healthy dinner.....GYM TOMORROW because forecast is 100% snow all afternoon and evening = not good to be on roads or cleaning car that's safely in my garage now! so yeah, gym tomorrow!


We do have work today, not a snow day, woke up to rain so far. Glad i went to bad early & also without eating any more last night.. Def have gained around 5 lbs and although i still look ok, i am aware that i need to reigning in my calories - i'm thinking maybe it's because i also stopped running? But most probably it's just due to eating higher averages over a period of many weeks...


...like everyone here, weight goes up and down and now i'm going to have to level things off once again so that my weight doesn't keep increasing. I am not going for a fad diet, just calorie counting as usual. I think if i can get several weeks around the 2000's, i will keep my weight the same. And i think if I can get my calories to the 1900's, it may decrease. Also, i had changed my weights routine at the gym - it's easier now - this must be also the reason for some of the weight gain?

Last week was my first good week in awhile, this week my goal is also for calories in the 2000's around 2050 avg...next week I may decrease my avg and try to get to a 1900's avg week.

Truthfully, the best way to watch calories is to meal plan and plan the calories for the whole day so i see what the avg is before the day even starts and there's no guessing or chance of failure...i may start doing this again - to plan out my 1800 cal days and just have success all around...weekends can especially be improved upon :) i think weekends have been a major part of my weight gain.


with my job now - dad tells me to try to learn what i can as long as i have this job...and to worry less. 

i still tend to need very long hours of sleep to feel ok. Last night i prob got around 7 hours, not enough still...i guess i am still getting used to getting out of my apt on time and a slightly earlier wake-up.

On a positive note, I was on time to work, over 5min early, before almost everyone. Hallway was still dark at work on my floor...def better for me to take the 6:08am bus :) and stay away from the 6:15am bus! Those 7 minutes make a huge difference between late to work and on time :)

my skin is clear except for one huge pimply spot that i made a mess of moreso, by popping and squeezing it. very big and red, tried covering with makeup - should have left it alone!  i have a hard time leaving pimples alone when they literally bother me because of the swelling, but, perahaps i should refrain from picking / popping. it looks really bad. makeup is just covering the bloody red part, you can still see it totally and makeup is very caked on in that spot. GROSS. The rest of my face is GREAT. Has to do with hormones (the one messed up spot) and me messing with my face. - next time, no matter how deep the pimple is and how annoying it is, i vow not to mess with it....bc i seriously made this much worse than it should be. i should know better by now.

Sounds like great planning...I have also made some plans up today that I know will make it all easier for me. The snow came through here yesterday and we have about a foot...a little less in spots....it is a bright day today...so you are definitely better off staying home tonight. Your Dad sounds like a wise man. Weight fluctuates.....but you don't have much to lose...I swear....if it's in the house it is fair game...I'm thinking I may have to reward myself with a non food item if I don't buy anything that I shouldn't have.

1400 after big lunch, healthy though. included 2 veggie dumpings for fun but wish i took some sauce for them...also some avocado, shrimp and other small fish things, lots of roasted cauliflower. nyc eating is no joke. we'll see how long it lasts for me...oh and a clementine. i was full before i finished lunch...maybe i do need to work on portions a hair more.

 i have class tonight 5pm-7pm, planning to eat dinner out before it...yep, mostly eating out these days, tho not expensive like a sit down restaurant...still more expensive than if i cooked of course.

1650 after chocolate during class. wasn't in mood for more food...done for the night

4day: 2075 -decent.  :)



i am still taking the late 6:15am bus...even though the 6:08am is more timely getting me to work at 7 and not 7:05...eh...i can work on leaving my apt earlier still.

...and fingers crossed to sleep in and have a snow day tomorrow...i have enough food at home so do not need to go to supermarket to prepare for a snow day. 

and i would still be going to gym at night, even if i need to take bus service to get there instead of driving which would be a good idea...


one good thing is i cleaned my apt before i went to the gym last night...i wanted bed made and all laundry put away so that i don't have to be living in a messy hole until Thursday (my "night off").  I does feel good with everything cleaned up. i had a few jackets out and laying around...and everything is just a bit cleaner and neater....makes me happy at home.

Happy Monday..I missed the earlier bus (better bus for me is 6:08am, i got on the 6:15am today) and got to work 7:05am again instead of 7am...low key day though....but working on something a bit confusing, but will still go thru all drawings, highlight the changes that have already been bubbled...will need to review with the PM (project manager). 

I have the gym planned for after work today, Wednesday, and Saturday later afternoon. We may get snow Wednesday...ahhh...we shall see...i may have to adjust my gym schedule accordingly...

Also dad said i may have an event on Sunday for a family member's 60th. i don't know yet the details or even when or where it exactly is?

My goal is to simply finish off March strong and continuing to stay positive. I guess i shall attempt to go with the flow and enjoy the city lunches for as long as they last...good food in the city.

Busy and eventful day. Bed early tonight. Breakfast was cereal high fiber 2 cups 250 with almond milk and banana 150. 400 Snacking fruit and kombucha 100 Lunch: ricky got me a croissant and I had it with my pepperoni around 400 900. Big meal at a st paddys day party: glass of wine 200? Merlot, and I'm not sure I can remember everything: roasted potatoes 200? Fried eggplant rollette which was really good 200, little bites of sausage and peppers 150? Little bit of cabbage not impressed wanted more but this was loaded with crud anyways 50, lots of roast beef 300 tops? Salad with croutons 150? 1250 Back at home two muffins 400 that I made - oops 2550 ****tttt 2day Avg is; 2300 - too high


you see, i ate the muffins not knowing already that my calorie count was already high after the party....i would have most probably stuck to one muffin if i knew i was going to be at 2550 calories if i ate another one....ooopsie.

Sounds like a good day ahead of you! Also, from yesterday's conversation, I do think you might find it helpful to talk to your dad to get his input and perspective. The position you're in right now may not be a good fit and causing you anxiety. That's how I felt at my last job: being a personal injury & workers comp paralegal just wasn't for me. I wasn't savvy enough at the ins and outs to be really good at the job. So I was just muddling through, trying to keep my head above the workload. Knew I had to find something in contracts or real estate.

800 cal so far before lunch.

1500 after really tasty lunch. it was almost $10 though..but like i said very balanced and tasty. another buffet even better than the place across the street.

450 cal dinner

Grand total today is 1950 - excellent way to end this week !!!

Weekly avg is exactly where I wanted it to be right around 2050 per day :) excellent calorie week

sorta just want ice cream (light kind) for dinner...

i'd like to end the day with no more than 2050 and hopefully less calories...good plan would be to have half a squash and light ice cream...and call it a day!

lunch and breakfasts and snacks were healthy...so...in my opinion having the light ice cream is just fine...and like i said, a whole pint is under or approx 400 cal, so it's not a calorie breaker and it is filling. and luckily the supermarket by me sells them...i can even take the bus there...which is a great idea! yes, i'll get off at that stop, instead of my stop. this small supermarket is in walking distance (around 10min). it's a regular smaller supermarket in the community.



Physically i know i can do more - push my body more. I think i've gotten to be going too soft at the gym.  I want to run more also. It's planned to do cardio this weekend.

Everyday I wake up and regret certain things and really feel stuck right now and like i do not want to continue with this job...but if i leave it there's a big chance I will not be paid as much at the next one if I drop down in responsibility - which is what i do want to do, actually.  but then, i have to make at least enough to pay for my apt and groceries and bills... 


also i admit to being hormonally a bit out of whack with pms...i can feel period coming any day or even hour now...usually when i feel this way (like feel my lower abdominal muscles actually moving while i sit at my desk - i know it's probably just hours..)...so some of my problem right now and anxiety is hormonal but i should prob still do the right thing and leave this job...or at least have an option if i ever NEED to leave bc of this current company - my administration...either way, i DO need a better plan.

If I may offer this, from what I see here on DD, so take it for what it is (which I know is sorely short): Perhaps you are still recovering from the sudden, unexpected change in career course that you had for yourself with the NYPD. And so I would encourage you to be patient with yourself as you experience this.

I know you have formulated your next career goal, court officer, but maybe start looking for a new job in the interim? If not a new job, then a side job (like working in a gym or becoming a personal trainer) or a volunteer opportunity that you look forward to outside of the electrical job you have now.

I hear you feeling stuck and down on yourself for not having made choices or feeling like there aren't many choices for you. I definitely can relate -- those are legit feelings. But I want to encourage you to break out of that "stuck" feeling/position, but looking into other things for yourself.

My point is that the more options you have for yourself, the more choices you will have. Grow your own options so that you can start making choices again :-)

This will take time and effort. If I had a magic wand, I'd lend it to you for sure.

i am thinking that i may have to possibly take a pay cut and leave this position...it would involve asking my father for help so i remain in union and get another different job at probably a new company.

i feel that i should ask him for help in acquiring a job and leave this one as soon as i have another avenue so i'm not on unemployment or facing it.

i feel that i should do this bc i have very large doubts on my abilities to become a full-blown estimator...and find big difficulties at this estimating position. i do not view it favorably as something i am going to be successful in...i honestly think i'd do better with a more secretarial position...just fearing a pay scale negative change on this...but maybe just maybe it's what i need to do - the lower level work.

i also have to stress my dad out but i KNOW it's best to go to him now before the "sh*t hits the fan" and i'm thinking he could get me a potential "job hookup" so that if for some reason this deal doesn't work, i can leave and have a place to go.

but i foresee this, and i should speak to him, and not stay here...this is what i feel so deep down is to take some action to leave on my own terms before something worse happens here. i do honestly feel it in my bones that this is my option to take before something worse happens. so i'll have to speak to my father...he's away...so i'll have to speak with him Saturday when he's back or Sunday. he also will have a busy weekend. it's def a stress on him - but he will help me.

16 years at my current job. The money is good and I mostly set my own schedule. Yet I've hated the day to day monotony of it for 15 years. Wish I could think of something that I'd enjoy doing......that would also pay the bills.

Take advantage of any resource you have to be happier. You are a team with your kin. You being in a better fit means you can be there more for them. There is no greater career killer than staying someplace you know is a bad fit one second longer than you have to. If you don't fit you have 6 months max before you are out on your keister.

a bit confused on my work, but marking the changes that i need to go over with someone in order ot actually move forward bc i def need some help on this...not sure how this getting help is going to go...but no way i can finish on my own and coworker gone so will have to ask the other guy in another office. he's the project manager.




Gym tonight. Yesterday after work when i was getting off train for bus, i decided to walk around 25 minutes bc it was sunny - around 4pm since i get out early now i am done with approx half my commute by 4pm. so i walked and got on bus around 4:30 and got some walking in. overall, yesterday, i walked approx:

10min in morning to bus 1/2 mile 

5 min in morning to job 1/4 mile 

20 min is easy at lunch to do (but with many stops bc city lights / traffic etc) so it prob equals around 1/2 mile

5 min back to train 1/4 mile

10 min home from bus 1/2 mile

and then 20 min extra after work - i'll say 1 mile

total yesterday: 1.75 easily most days

yesterday was around 2.75miles.

legs feel it but they are improving with time :)

Progress as of today: 5 lbs lost so far, only 0 lbs to go!

Breakfast and snacks: pb crackers and coffee with heavier milk 250

750 before lunch...planning to hopefully take an early as possible noon lunch today bc my appetite is fuming.

 Lunch: orange also 50, 2 chicken dumplings 250?, shredded cucmber with sauce tho not much 50?, baked turkey so good 150? total here: 500-550

1300 after tasty lunch (nice to have such a huge selection including veggies) it's a huge buffet deli. and another clementine bc coworker went on vacation and left some in the fridge and said i could eat them...

1350 before dinner...will be eating dinner back at my apt..planning to eat squash and tofu and keep it lighter - would be nice to lower my calorie total so that's the idea...


 coworker now gone for 2 weeks until March 12th..i'm alone in this room and it is quite dull...i am hungrier for sure and just wish i had more of an "assist roll" and not a "look at these drawings and estimate the changes" roll. really i'm grateful to have a good salary, but despise this job position.  it's really quite depressing for me, to be doing something that doesn't excite me. and i wish i skipped the meeting last night, my dad's speech was good but i needed to be home more than i needed to be at that meeting.


once again i feel life is without many choices because i chose to not make choices. feeling negative. wanted to go to bed earlier, but ran to the meeting when my dad notified me at the last minute that he was speaking at it. I was hoping to have a night off as the previous 5 Tuesday nights have been ON...but it wasn't off as planned and that is just a hair annoying. I'm skipping the gym tonight to be home and not be rushing around 3 nights in a row as i typically do not enjoy having several nights out in a row bc it runs me down.

I might end of just going to gym bc it's frustrating to do everything i am not passionate about have not do the gym,,,,but it's better i just wait to go until tomorrow eve. just means i'll also go on Saturday eve. that's fine.  Saturday earlier i plan to do some cardio again.


On a more postive note, my skin is very clear thanks to honey i apply after the shower - YES, HONEY. it is antibacterial i believe and also antioxidant and my skin has had a pretty dramatic turnover. before bed i use it also, after i wash my face i leave it on and lightly rinse it before hitting the pillows.

already my butt hurts and i'm extremely uncomfortable at this desk...i'll be happy to be home tonight...i can tell already that i'd rather be home than out at the gym...

the gym will not be helpful and will prob be better on thursday after getting more rest tonight.

like i was saying, i do not enjoy being out several nights in a row - it really doesn't put me at ease and lately i'm waking up at night and not sleeping well bc my mind isn't relaxed when i go to bed.

your advise is good, but maybe i just know myself by now and what i enjoy in terms of the gym / # of nights out during the week that is preferred in a row.

i just don't think forcing another night out is in my best interest bc it means another sorta late night to bed...and i'm not used to this schedule just yet...and i've been around 5min late to work these past two days.

i'd like to go to gym, i just don't see it as in my best interest to be out again.

I got a notice on Facebook yesterday that a store the next town over was starting to carry kombucha......Got one bottle...$3.99...it's different...LOL...it doesn't have the same affecton me as it does on you...it actually made my NOSE run...LOL

I would say that this is a lesson learned, to put your needs first sometimes.

I do not have an answer to the job situation, unfortunately. I'm fortunate to like what I do, but I do not get paid very well for it, relatively speaking, and frankly, I'm lucky to be earning what I do earn, because I know there are paralegals out there earning a lot less for a lot more work and stress.
